Thanks for the mephit reminder. Nicholas, the breath weapon recharges in 4 rounds, not 1d4 rounds.
Ingrgre, I've included your arrow damage below.
As soon as the troll fell, the ooze mephit vomits out a burst of slime, covering all the three trolls. The acid burn is minor, but it temporally halt their regeneration.
The pooka and his hound step forward, each of them tearing into the lone standing troll, hacking out more chunks of its rocky flesh. It starts to totter on its feet. Kiboko steps forward, while his loyal companion squeezes its way back.

Traber is no combatant and he knows it. However, he does carry around a weapon or two and decides to use one at this time.

GM kuey |
Enora, you didn't roll for the attack of your acid splash? Traber, from your position, you can't see the troll.
Enora pulls out a flash of acid, ready to start flinging orbs of acid herself. Traber pulls out a crossbow and fires a shot at the remaining standing troll, but the many people in the way in the midst of combat makes it a difficult shot.
Perhaps it is getting apprehensive with the invaders. The final troll full out attacks Pooka, the smallest target, but the nimble halfling dodges out of the way of all the strikes.

If Kiboko's attacks drop Orange, he will end his Rage and switch Animal Focus to Bear (+2CON). This will change his AC to 28 and he will be fatigued for 2 rounds (scarred rager archetype reduces fatigue duration).
"Coordinate... attacks! Acid... then cut off their heads immediately!"
Hopefully the coup-de-graces are a formality, given that we have Enora and a Mephit that can deliver acid attacks.
EDIT: ninja'd by Ingrge :) Since it looks like the archer might've dropped the troll, Kiboko would instead wait for an acid attack to land on a troll, then cut off its head. From his current position Kiboko can attack any of the three trolls.
coup de grace damage, raging furious greatsword etc: 4d6 + 38 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 5) + 38 = 52

Very Sorry! I was momentarily confused.
Acid splash, touch, melee : 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 6 - 4 = 3
Acid damage : 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
GM kuey |
With deadly accuracy, Igrgre fires her arrows one after another at the remaining troll. While the first misses, the second punches deep into its chest. But it is the third that smashes into its skull, taking its head right off! Almost immediately, a new head starts to grow back, but Enora stops it with a conjuration of acid and Kiboko who cleaves it right in half. The same process is repeated for the other two trolls and eventually, they are nothing more than rocky slimy mess on the floor!
Combat Over. Status:
Pooka (54/67)
Kiboko (51/74)
Among the debris in the room, you find a number of scattered coins and other items. Among them, a glove, a lantern and a ring glow with magic. It seems that other adventurers had come this way previously, but never returned.
Gold will be tallied in final chronicle sheet.
Will pause a bit for healing and magic items identification.
Enora - Iconic character |
Enora looks at the items with detect magic.
Spellcraft glove: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
Spellcraft lantern: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
Spellcraft ring: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24
"Hey, look guys! These are very interesting items! Let me tell you ..." and she explains their functionality.
Traber |
When away from the trolls, Traber uses Channel Positive Energy: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6) = 15
And taps Kiboko with a Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Pooka Bladespinner |
Pooka feels the healing warmth roll over him, mending the growing bruise beneath his armor. He slides the wand of cure light wounds he had halfway out of his pack back in.
"Thank you Traber. You know, I once met an Oracle. Nagaji, and he reminded me of you in many ways. A conduit of life and healing like none I'd ever met. I look forward to seeing what you can do." he smiles.
"These gloves look handy. Assuming we don't take too long in here, we can leave ourselves a trail of where we have been, So we know how to get out. I'm not sure if it will work from underneath these gauntlets though..." Pooka trails off.
"I do have a ring of protection, but that one seems marginally more powerful. If no one else has use for it, I will wear it."
Kiboko |
"Kiboko thanks you, Traber. Kiboko also has a wand if it is needed, although Kiboko and Mvumbu have seen many battles, and there is little magic left within it.
Enora, that lantern has an evil aspect to it. Kiboko will not touch it, for to do so may displease Kiboko's guardian spirits. Kiboko agrees with little Pooka regarding the Glove; and if you should take the ring Pooka, perhaps a comrade might borrow yours? Kiboko has a similar item already."
I just bought a +1 ring!
Mvumbu rejoins Kiboko in the trolls' cavern. With the benefit of Kiboko's magic, both tread lightly over the crystals.
Kiboko asks Enora to recharge his ioun stone using his wand of shield, and uses a charge of his own cure wand on himself. cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Enora - Iconic character |
Enora does Kiboko asked.
”Good, evil ... please try to focus on the take at hand. This lantern is a magical items and should be leveraged. I will carry it!“ she says.
Kiboko |
"Do not imagine that Kiboko is less than focused, little wizard! Kiboko has seen many times the consequences of failure to guard the soul against corruption. You are so dazzled by power that you care not for its source! This is a sure path to corruption! You are too easily tempted, Enora. Perhaps there is no sentience behind this lantern, but the next enchanted device you become enamoured of may be a demon's lure. Kiboko has seen such things! Heed Kiboko's warning!"
GM kuey |
Alright, moving on...
With the trolls finally taken care of, the Pathfinders also take a good look around the large cavern. Massive crystals of rainbow hues fill this entire area and grow from all the walls and from the ceiling above.
You find that you can snap off a crystal without much effort. The crystal emits light equivalent to a torch, although you can notice is gradually weakening.
Nicholas then sends Severin to scout ahead. The next cavern is empty and uninteresting except an underground stream that runs right across. The team thus head back, climbing up a narrow flight of natural stairs, with Severin scouting ahead. When he returns, he reports a large cavern ahead, with ceiling that stretches up 25ft into the air. A river cuts through the centre of this chamber, likely the same river you saw earlier. A bridge formed out of the stone floor arcs over the stream. More importantly, Severin reports a huge quivering black amorphous mass is piled up against the ceiling...
If Mvumbu stays large it is squeezing up the stairs but Severin reports the rest of the chamber is big enough for it.
GM kuey |
Like before, you have all the time to prepare, so go ahead to indicate in your post. Then after that, the surprise round below will start.
Terrain Info: Take note that the ceiling is 25ft and with the blob being huge (i.e. 15ft space), it is still 10ft above ground.

GM kuey |
Enora, like before, will share once you actually move somewhere where you can see the blob. :) Oh, and I forgot that here it is dim lighting so let me know your lighting situation, if any. (The previous cavern was bright because of the crystals.)
Pooka Bladespinner |
"Big black blob? Sounds like I need this..." Pooka says, reaching for the vial of bladeguard. He begins to coat his lance liberally with the protective goo.
After slathering the goo for several seconds he pauses, realizing how awkward this probably looks. "Hey, don't tell me you all don't... never mind." he chuckles.
"Oh yes, that sounds like a good idea Trabor. Here." Pooka says, sliding his +1 ring of protection from his finger before slipping the other one on. He concentrates for a moment to see if he feels any differently.
Without anything else to do to help bolster the party just yet, Pooka waits for his companions to be ready to face this new threat.
Actual surprise round actions:
Pooka spurs Luna forward, sticking to the wall and tugging slightly on her reins to spin her once they are fully in the cavern. Luna drops her hindquarters to absorb the momentum shift, and executes the swivel perfectly, squaring herself up for a charge at the blob. Four glowing crystals jingle and clatter with Luna's barding from being strapped to her sides.
Pooka squints his eyes, wondering if his long lance will reach the hanging ooze and trying to do the math from a distance. "Does anyone know how to challenge a blob? Aha!" Pooka snorts up a massive green loogie and spits it on the floor in front of him. "Consider that a gauntlet thrown ooze!"
Moving into the room and activating my cavalier's challenge. Please keep in mind that with Pooka's wheeling charge feat, the only way to actually get in my way for a charge is to occupy the space I would be in to make the attack. So don't be afraid to stand in front of me.
Mvumbu |
"Mooaaarrgghhh!!"
Frustrated at having nothing to properly chomp on, Mvumbu bounds into the room... and STILL doesn't have anything to chomp on, there's just a big black blob on the ceiling.
Kiboko |
Kiboko casts Shield from his Ioun Stone and steps forwards. He commands Mvumbu to attack. Looks like there's going to be enough room.
Traber |
In the hospital on my phone and can't move token.
Traber use the glove on the wall before he moves to provide light and healing support to those fighting the blob monster.
GM kuey |
Traber, hope you're ok? I've moved you close enough to light the blob without being too close.
Nicholas, I'm going to move on. Just post your actions for the surprise round and the action for this round.
Enora opens up combat by filling her teammates with arcane energy that quickens their actions, while Kiboko calls forth a magical shield for protection. The team, with a glowing Traber, move into the cavern, ready to attack!
The ceiling is 25ft, the blob is 15ft in size, so it's 10ft above the ground, i.e. you need a reach of at least 10ft to reach it. Mvumbu, being large, can reach it.

Sorry for the late reply. Was busy with work yesterday and also have to deal with some personal issues.
Have discussed with Ingrgre and he would change his first attack to fire cold iron arrows instead. As the result might affect the actions of those already posted, Kiboko, Mvumbu and Nicholas, please feel free to retcon and adjust your actions. You may keep your rolls though. I won't resolve them yet until you confirm.
Ingrgre's first arrow fly true, for the blob is hardly dextrous enough to dodge the shots. But the strike seems to be just absorbed into its mass with much damage, and unexpectedly, the blob starts splitting down the middle!
Ingrgre, I'll assume you don't fire the 2nd or 3rd arrow after seeing that.

Mvumbu's attacks are unchanged: direct them at Red first, and if Red pudding is destroyed she'll 5' step forwards towards Orange pudding. She does not need to delay for Kiboko but loses +4 to hit from outflank if Kiboko does not threaten.
Kiboko, seeing that pointy arrows seem to multiply the problem but blunt arrows have some effect, switches to a warhammer.
Kiboko's attack has to be a Ready action, because he doesn't have reach with the hammer. So let's make it a Vital Strike as well, because I forgot about that feat! Attack roll is the same (hit AC27), damage adds another 1d8
extra vital strike damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1
For a total of 23 damage if a pudding comes within reach.

I'll keep my actions/rolls. The archons would focus fire Red first. If it gets KO'd they'd switch their attacks to the other pudding.
GM kuey |
Mvumbu reaches up with its gigantic maw and rips into the mass of black goo. She tears out two big chunks in rapid succession but they burn his mouth! Each time, she tries to spit out the goo as quickly as possible. (ref DC21 or -7, followed by 2nd ref DC21 or -12) Kiboko stands ready underdeath the blobs, waiting for one of them to come near. Nicholas summons a horde of lantern archons who start firing energy beams at the blobs. The first beam destroys the one that Mvumbu was attacking, sending a splatter of black slime everywhere. The remaining burns into the other, filling the cavern with horrendous smell somewhat akin to burning rubber. Traber hangs back defensively, waiting to see how the battle develops.
The remaining blob seems unaware that its clone had been destroyed. It reaches down a gigantic pseudopod towards Kiboko but gets it snagged against a stalactite, missing its target completely.
When Enora finally emerges into the cavern, she recognises the creature(s) as a black pudding. Slashing and piercing weapons do it not damage, and instead, causes it to split into clones. Also, it is successfully hits a creature, it will automatically attempt to constrict the prey.

Kiboko |
Kiboko and Mvumbu's actions depend on the pudding not being dead after Nicolas, Ingrge and Enora's actions go off. I'll conserve the spell and avoid the potential AoO if all the ranged attacks kill the pudding.
Concerned for Mvumbu's welfare as she spits out gobbets of acidic pudding-flesh, Kiboko drops out of his animalistic rage and moves behind his faithful companion, so as to protect her with a spell.
Actions: switch animal focus to Snake (swift), move, cast Resist Energy (acid) 10 on Mvumub.
Fatigued for 1 round (scarred rager archetype); AC=26, 28 vs AoOs.
If the pudding should manage to land an AoO on Kiboko and succeeds at a Grab, Kiboko's lesser talisman of freedom activates and grants him Freedom of Movement for 3 rounds, negating the grapple.
Mvumbu |
"Moooarrrrgghhh!"
Mvumbu chomps and spits!
chomp! vs pudding, haste, power attack: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 9 + 1 - 2 = 12damage: 2d8 + 9 + 6 ⇒ (5, 7) + 9 + 6 = 27
chomp! vs pudding, haste, power attack: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 1 - 2 = 24damage: 2d8 + 9 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 9 + 6 = 24
Pooka Bladespinner |
Pooka hears the warning about not using piercing or slashing weapons and frowns, echoed quickly by a wimper from Luna.
His lance clatters to the floor while he reaches into his handy haversack, pulling out an alchemist's fire.
I couldn't reach that thing with my flail. Queue the short jokes... he chuckles to himself before flinging the flask of alchemical fire at the blob.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 7 - 4 = 14 for Fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Edit: Added in negatives for range increment.
[ooc]Will obviously hold that action back if the blob is already dead. Sorry guys! between the reach and not using piercing weapons, Pooka suddenly becomes kinda useless here. You are all doing an amazing job of cutting this thing down though...
GM kuey |
Yup, everyone please save your expendable resources.
Almost immediately after the blob struck at Kiboko, his loyal companion against rears up and bites another big chunk off. This time, she fails to spit out the goo fast enough and burns her mouth, but the attack was enough. The remaining blob simply disintegrates, leaving black slime dripping from the ceiling.
Combat over! Status:
Mvumbu (41/51)
Mvumbu acid: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10
---
Searching within the area, the Pathfinders find various scraps of leather or corroded metal, likely the leftovers of whatever adventurers that passed this way in the past. You do find three small glass vials, though. It seems its acid does not affect glass.
Kiboko |
"No! Mvumbu is burned!" Kiboko rushes to help his companion. He smells the three potions (?) to see if any of them are possibly healing items. Take 10 on Perception for each vial, total score 22. "Gah! These hold useful spells, but nothing to help Mvumbu now!"
The savage half-orc readies his own healing wand.
Everyone feel free to check the Perception spoilers above. Kiboko will spend a CLW wand charge or two on Mvumbu unless we have other free healing resources available.
First time ever Vengeance Strike has gone off for me I think :)
Enora - Iconic character |
Spellcraft Detect magic: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27
Spellcraft Detect magic: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Spellcraft Detect magic: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
Perception last one : 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
"Wow! You guys really know how to fight! Look what we found ... ths is a potion of 'haste' and a potion of 'remove disease' ... the last one I cannot identify! Let us continue walking down this path."
GM kuey |
You guys are making this a cakewalk... :)
Go ahead and retcon any healing. If no one says differently, I'll assume Enora is holding onto the potions.
After resting very briefly and collecting the potions, Nicholas sends Severin to scout ahead. The eidolon slithers towards the bridge but just as he reaches the water's edge, the floor starts to crumble, threatening to throw him into the water! Thankfully, his reflexes are good and it leaps back in time. But after a careful examination, he realises that the ground on either side of the water's edge is weak. Meanwhile, the stream 10 feet below continues to rush southeast towards what sounds like a waterfall further along its path.
Have updated the map. Anyone who steps on a square along the water's edge, including the bridge, would need to make a ref save or fall into the water. By my count, that would be a minimum of 5-6 saves to attempt to cross by foot. I've placed you guys on the map, which you might want to refer to plan how to cross.
Traber |
Traber is here just for the healing. He'll patch Mvumbu right up.
