Kiboko, forgot to ask you to reroll the damage for the hooked lance. Also, can I find out how you got 6d6 for the first strike?
The enlarged, and enraged, Kiboko moves closer to the flying woman, dropping his greatsword and stabbing at her with his hooked lance. The weapon pierces deep into her side and she screams in pain and fury. Mvumbu quickly scrambles up the wall and ceiling to flank her. With her giant maw, she crunches down on her shoulder, snapping her shoulder blade. Ingrgre lets loose his arrows, but they either fly wide or bounced off some magical protection around her. Just then, Enora steps in and banishes the darkness completely, just as Nicolas refreshes his batch of lantern archons. Five of their light rays smash her to, burning her with extraplanar energy.

Kiboko, forgot to ask you to reroll the damage for the hooked lance. Also, can I find out how you got 6d6 for the first strike?
Hooked lance vital strike: 4d6 + 12 + 6 - 2; this is a base 2d6 for an enlarged 1d8 weapon (hooked lance), +2d6 for vital strike (double base damage dice), +12 from STRx1.5 (STR = base 18, +4 rage, +2 Bull Focus, +2 enlarge = 26 (+8)), +6 power attack (2 handed weapon, base attack +6), -2 shaken. I rolled 26 damage on my spoilered attack roll above, but I'll do a reroll too if one is needed.
Greatsword enlarged vital strike dice are 6d6: 3d6 for an enlarged greatsword, becomes 6d6 from vital strike.
hooked lance vital strike damage reroll: 4d6 + 12 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 2) + 12 + 6 - 2 = 30
Traber
|
Bless: +1 attack, +1 sv v fear
Prot v Evil (Kiboko, Mvumbu, self): +2 to AC and saves; resist control
Traber moves into the chamber and casts Blindness/Deafness (Fort DC 18 v blind) at the floating woman.

GM: I forgot to subtract 2 from attack/damage rolls due to being shaken on my last attack so please adjust my rolls (I think I missed any way but just in case)...

My bad!
Pooka Will save vs fear: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Luna Will save vs fear: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Luna Will Danger ward reroll: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 4 = 30
Pooka and Luna manage to steel themselves, though it takes a moment to swallow their fear.
So that attack vs touch ac has another -2 to it from shaken.

Thanks, Kiboko. I was looking for vital strike. Forgot about that.
Pooka lobs a bag of tanglefoot straight up and it just grazes her dress, splatting onto the ceiling. Traber steps out, throwing a spell at her. The very badly weakened tiefling (not a demon) fails to fight the spell and her eyes cloud over, plunging everything into darkness for her.
Getting desperate, she drifts further up away from the half-orc's terrible reach, and attempts to cast a spell defensively. Being blind, however, she messes up her gestures and the spell fizzles. "No! No!"
Finish her!

Enora's spell blast in her ears. Although she managed to withstand the bulk of the attack, it still set her ears ringing. Blinded and temporarily deafened, she failed to hear the roaring hippo stomping towards her on the ceiling. With a massive chomp, the hippo crushes the tiefling under her massive maws. She gasps her last breath...

When you eventually bring her body down to the ground, you find quite a number of items on her.
Not requiring spellcraft since this is the end
potion of cure moderate wounds, scroll of animate dead, scroll of restore corpse, wand of spectral hand (9 charges); masterwork quarterstaff, cloak of resistance +1, headband of vast intelligence +2, spell component pouch, spellbook, 500 gp worth of black onyx
Of greater interest, however, is a steel rod covered in runes of unknown origin. After some careful study, Enora concludes that this device would have been able to wresting control of created undead away from their creators. This was likely what she had used to cause at least some of the chaos in Kaer Maga recently. However, Enora can tell that the rod is very ancient, and whatever the tiefling had done with it had drained the last of its powers.
With the threat taken care of, the Pathfinders return to Horus Ilaktya and share with him what you have found out. Horus is pleased
with your success but also disgusted by the actions of this tiefling necromancer. "Those of us who have the power to grant a second life should know above all else the responsibility that entails. Twice-Born who cannot care for themselves rely on us to curb their more destructive impulses. Otherwise they become a threat to public safety and must, unfortunately, be destroyed."
After heaving a deep sigh, Ilaktya continues. "It seems the Pathfinders do indeed live up to their reputation. I look forward to working with you and your organization in the future. I will send my regards to your venture-captain."
