Btw, Valeros gives 1d6+1 to your combat checks at my location when I have an Ally in hand. For that reason, I often try to stick together with at least one friend, and will at the very least start in a location with others so that I can provide that benefit before moving to whatever location makes the most sense for me to be working on.

Raheli wrote:Also, I'm planning to Give Card: Frilled Lizard to Seoni, I'll stay at this location and ask Seoni to Give Card: Blast Stone to me. Similarly if anyone has items to spare, I'll always take a Give Card. Each Item represents an additional d4 to defeat banes.Sorry, I'm not quite getting this - can you pls explain? Thx!
Raheli was suggesting that she hand off one of her cards to Seoni, and Seoni hand off a rather underwhelming item (Blast Stone) back to Raheli once she's able.
Raheli is a Witch, one that is a sorta-caster character (it's complicated) with a significant focus on using items, so there's an open suggestion that any spare items that you don't particularly want to hold onto you can give to her. Specifically, she's referring to the following power she has:
On your check to defeat ([ ] or your check to acquire an item or a spell) you may recharge any number of items to add 1d4 for each item recharged ([ ] plus the items' highest adventure deck number) to your check.

Before you do the Move step on your turn, you can give one card to another player at your location.
It's not used too heavily, partly because folks like to keep the cards they have, partly because folks don't think of it. There are a few things Give Card helps do well:
1. Hardcore Tactics: In this case, there's some power to be gained by loading me up with items because I convert those to d4s against both Monsters and Barriers by recharging then). Also, for this scenario, it makes sense for me to give my explores to the diplomats (giving allies) since I want you guys to close locations.
2. Battlefield Medicine: Sometimes when a Cure is not forthcoming, you can help keep other players alive by giving them a card. I've done this a few times.
2. At the very least, it gives players at your location effectively one collective extra hand size since the given card doesn't care about hand size until it comes to the Givee's turn.
BUT DON'T GIVE ME YOUR STAFF OF MINOR HEALING ;)

Full agreement from me; sentiments I've shared before as well.
In most of my tables, "Give a Card" is the most underused core PACG mechanic by far, and it's actually a reasonably big reward for teaming up together on a location, in my opinion. For absolutely nothing else, reason 3 is a big one for me - I often encourage "Hot Potato-ing" a blessing back and forth, since they're equally useful no matter who's using them and you're effectively increasing the hand size of 50% of the players if everyone were to hot potato a card back and forth with a partner.

Yep, but I am hoping to hit Conflags with lots of items + Disable. I want to give Seoni (and Val) some more power in this scenario if I can.
It looks like we are ready for Scenario setup now?

Officially AoA doesn't start until the Overseer's signal, which is anticipated in a bit over 12 hours from now.
Grazzle the Grubmaster |
I can pass you Bestiary of Garund if it comes up. Note that while gathering together may still be the right call, Mummy's Mask has a few ways to punish it. A monster that when encountered summons a copy for everyone at the location to fight and monsters that deal damage to everyone at the location before or after combat.

I’ll take my turn in a couple hours but given that I have Noxious Bomb, I will examine the top card of Smoking Den per location power. It’s Corrosion (Spell 2).
So revised plan. I’ll use Frilled Lizard plus one item to Conflag and use BotQ on the Spell. Is it okay if I also recharge Grazzle’s blessing for the Spell?
Valeros Z. |
Do you want to try to zap the Conflagration first?
Raheli |
I will. Just getting clearance to use Spellbound after.
Raheli |
Used Grazzle's Spellbound and Gave Grazzle Confusion. Will happily accept items. Seoni's up I think!
Raheli |
Thanks for the Blast Stone! It will get good use!
Valeros Z. |
Is our Adventure Deck number 1 or 2?
Raheli |
2 (which means the difficulty of Conflag should have been higher but I still passed).
Raheli |
Until we get Hangouts up, posting my plans here...
Assuming nothing unexpected happens, I will Give Card Corrosion to Grazzle (who can auto recharge it). And will head to Vizier's Hill to get ready to clear the next Conflagration.
Valeros Z. |
Oops, I'm just reading this now. I used your Corrosion to help defeat a nasty barrier. If I had failed the check it would have been 1d4 poison damage to everyone at the location, which is all of us right now. Seemed like the right thing to do.
And, turn over. It's Grazzle's turn now.
Raheli |
Actually, I'd argue that Recharging Seoni's BotG to copy BotE would have given you the same dice but an automatic recharge. Can we retcon that?
Valeros Z. |
Nope, I haven't gotten any Hangouts invite.
And yes, I'm fine with that retcon if Yestance is. Thanks for catching that.
Raheli |
Same here!
Yeah, it's one of the few time BotG recharges otherwise I'd offer BotQ
BR Yewstance |
Alright, I removed you and re-added you both to the Hangouts, and still no luck. I've tried sending a message solely to you each - one was sent to Nathan, but I can't chat to Abraham until he accepts my invite on Google Hangouts, apparently.
Not sure what else I can do at this point, but I'll keep tooling around; keep an eye out for any communication on there, and check to see if you have any invites pending.
Valeros Z. |
Did you use my email address: abezab at gmail dot com?
Grazzle the Grubmaster |
Btw I assume any listed card is available for use unless specified otherwise. Having to ask just slows things down.
BR Yewstance |
As mentioned in Hangouts (thank you to bigguyinblack for causing me to think of doing so) I'm providing the Acquired Cards thus far here to speed up post-game reward discussion.
Let me know if I appear to have missed any acquired cards.
(Amended; I'd somehow slipped on acquiring Meehr Zet)

Meehr Zet (Ally B)
Pahmet Clansman (Ally B)
Nefti the Bard (Ally B)
Blessing of Thoth (Blessing 1)
Corrosion (Spell 2)
Fighting Crook (Weapon B)
Corrosive Dagger +1 (Weapon B)
Chakram (Weapon B)
Kukri (Weapon B)

Since we may finish within the next 24 hours we should consider our upgrades. I find that the simplest method is listing what you want in the order you want it and rolling a d1000 for each choice.
Remember we will be getting 2 upgrades. And we probably want to share the lvl 1+ upgrades around even if someone gets 2 lucky rolls.
Item 2/1: 1d1000 ⇒ 236
spell 2/1: 1d1000 ⇒ 308
spell 0: 1d1000 ⇒ 130
blessing 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 965
armor 0?: 1d1000 ⇒ 135
Raheli |
Skill Feat: Dexterity +1
Here's my prios:
if there's an Item 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 318
Spell 1, but can be talked into giving it up to Graz or Seo: 1d1000 ⇒ 106
Ally 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 410
Ally 1, the second one, but will give it up if not everyone has 1s: 1d1000 ⇒ 153
Blessing 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 42
Item B: 1d1000 ⇒ 985
Blessing B, if there is one: 1d1000 ⇒ 899
Spell B, if there is one: 1d1000 ⇒ 898
Ally B: 1d1 ⇒ 1
Grazzle the Grubmaster |
Picking Charisma for my skill feat. And I guess I'll add ally 0 as an option if I don't get any of the other upgrades.
Though so far it is looking like Spell 1 (Pyrotechnic Blast) and Blessing 1 (Blessing of Abadar).
Grazzle the Grubmaster |
Camel (Ally B)
Meehr Zet (Ally B)
Pahmet Clansman (Ally B)
Ubashki (Ally B)
Hyaenodon (Ally B)
Nefti the Bard (Ally B)
Mad Dog Marrn (Ally 1)
Khelru (Ally 1)
Ptemenib (Ally 2)
Blessing of Thoth (Blessing 1)
Twitch Tonic (Item B)
Canteen (Item B)
Magnifying Glass (Item B)
Cure (Spell B)
Corrosion (Spell 2)
Fighting Crook (Weapon B)
Corrosive Dagger +1 (Weapon B)
Chakram (Weapon B)
Kukri (Weapon B)
I vote Dark Archives for the next scenario. And as mentioned I'll be taking charisma +1 for my skill feat. As for upgrades I noticed that we were having a lot of problems with barriers. Weirdly the Oracle class deck has great answers to that. So here are my 2 proposed upgrades for Grazzle if everyone is okay with it.
1. (Blessing 1) Replace Blessing of the Spellbound with Blessing of Abadar. +2 dice vs barriers.
2. (Spell B) Replace Viper Strike with Find Traps. +2 dice vs barriers.
It is risky to drop down to only 2 attack spells. But since 3 of us are still underpowered a lot of our blessings are going to non combat checks. Correctly since it saves us turns and resources but it means Grazzle will not be exploring much and therefore won't need many attack spells.
On a related note, Since Grazzle is handling the healing I recommend we save an ally and earmark Valeros's staff of healing to power a Reinforcement.
EmpTyger |
I'll take an Item for the objective reward.
Skill feat will be CHA +1
I'll need a spare moment to rebuild my deck, will try to do that during lunch. But don't wait on me for rewards- I'll take an Ally B (of which there are plenty) and then I'll choose something from whatever's left for my bonus upgrade.
Also vote Dark Archives.
9-00A reward: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Nope
Grazzle the Grubmaster |
boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 5
The next random non basic item was
Wing of Horus
So item B.
I think that means the upgrades break down like this.
Valeros: Ally 2, ???
Grazzle: Blessing 1, Spell 0
Raheli: Spell 2, Ally 1
Seoni: Ally 1, Choice of Ally, Blessing, or Item B
Valeros Z. |
boon: 1d20 ⇒ 20 !!!
Valeros will take Ally 2 and Weapon B for his upgrades, upgrading Quartermaster to Sorrowsoul (Ultimate Intrigue 2) and upgrading Longsword to Greatclub (Fighter B).
Valeros does not receive any feats due to not playing for tier rewards.
And definitely vote Dark Archive - oof that Grand Lodge condition for Ranged Combat is pretty bad.

Yep, that’s correct for Valeros. Ordered my Gunslinger deck today
Valeros Z. |
Of the cards we have so far the only upgrade I'm interested in is Blessing B
Grazzle the Grubmaster |
So unless Veleros finds something spicy the upgrades look like this.
Grazzle - Spell 1 and power feat of add +2 to my checks that invoke the attack trait.
Valeros - Blessing B
Raheli - Item B
Seoni - Spell B
Valeros Z. |
The only things I found were a henchman and a monster. If you want to delay killing the villain, the Dye Market now contains 4 boons and a barrier. But I'm also ok with just wrapping this scenario now while we can and then moving on to the next one, especially since it seems like everyone has at least a card they will be happy to upgrade.
Grazzle the Grubmaster |
Grazzle will start at the Surgery for the next run of A and lets do Scarab Sages.
Spell 1 will be Fireblade upgraded to Pyrotechnic Blast.
Raheli |
Botting things. Assuming that we win...
Taking Hand Size 6
And Blue Star (Item B), Caltrops are out.
Note for botting folks! Blue Star takes a seventh spot in my hand. It makes her d4 recharges even more effective.
Assuming Raheli takes Game of Afterlife in place of Grounding Staff.
Plans for next scenario!
Flying Squirrel!
Assuming my Conflag checks are successful.
Turn 1: Take out Conflagration, stay at location
Offturn: squirrel over to another location
Assuming my Conflag checks are successful.
Turn 2: Take out Conflagration, stay at location
Offturn: squirrel over to another location
Repeat until conflags are done.
In general, recharge a card to Dexterity + 1d8 to fight.
Barriers and Monsters: recharge any number of items to add d4s. Often this is a better use of items then the item powers themselves (like Blue Star).
Everything else is pretty straight forward.
Start at Smoking Den
Valeros Z. |
9-00Booooon?: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Valeros will use the Blessings B card upgrade (assuming no one else objects) to upgrade Blessing of the Gods to Blessing of Asmodeus.
