@Tak- Misfortune has a range of 30 feet and Atalazorn is 30 feet in the air. I am assuming you are readying it for when Atalazorn lands? Correct me if I am wrong.

Theo and Fairbeaks see a rare opportunity and join the others just underneath the stitched together abomination.

Bambang manages to chip away at one of the wings as the demonic dragon takes flight. Though his blow doesn't nearly deal the amount of damage as the force he put into it. DR.

Anduris draws his longbow and fires a single shot up into the air at the beast.

+1 Adaptive Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

The arrow passes right up and over Atalazorn's body as it blots out the sun.

Tak and Theo stand at the ready, waiting for Atalazorn to come back within reach.

BBambang begins to gently float off of the ground as the scroll turns to ashes in his hands. Kivuli continues to study his foe from afar.

The Pathfinders boldly stand below the fray as the pair of behemoths absolutely wreck each other. Atalazorn rips into Gulgamodh's chest with his sharp teeth. Large gouges shred the metal like paper, though the magical construct still remains standing and grappling the demonic dragon.

With a large roar Atalazorn attempts to charge downward toward Bambang but Gulgamodh holds on firmly. Though it is still able to pounce on the poor human. Atalazorn is now 10 feet off the ground.

As Atalazorn lowers a strange hex begins to take root.

Question, if I were to mount the axebeak, I'm assuming that would allow me to strike the golem, as we suddenly take up a 10' space... Is that correct?

I think mounting requires no check.. .but does it provoke?

Just trying to figure out how the rest of it would work...
I'd take the -5 for being bareback, as no saddle...
So I'd have to make a DC 5+5 guide with knees check each round, to be able to use both hands (for the weapon).
Then if I want to swing, I'd have to make a DC 10+5 check for fighting in the saddle?

Well, in lieu of any outside comment, will go with my assumptions.

Fairbeaks snaps at the large metal monstrosity, his long neck easily able to reach the flying construct above them.

Fairbeaks bite: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 13, for 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (4, 1) + 14 = 19 damage.

But Theo is not so fortunate, he glares at the draconic thing, then Fairbeaks, then back at the creature, then swears, and quickly pulls himself up onto the axebeak's back...

Much to Fairbeak's dismay, the bird emitting an angry squawk as he does so, clearly not a fan of being ridden.

Ride to fight vs DC 15: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Surprisingly, he calms down fairly quickly, and finds himself suddenly able to reach from his loftier perch, swinging hard with his club while he tries to stay aboard.

Kivuli's adamantine weapon proves instrumental as it slices through the stitching like it is paper. Tak's blinding condition and misfortune along with Gulgamodh pinning it down prove too much as Atalazorn falls!

***OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT***

An elite team of Pathfinders pins down one of the draconic monstrosity Atalazorn’s limbs, giving Gulgamodh an opportunity to grab the beast’s head. After a brief struggle, Gulgamodh decapitates the abomination, which falls to the battlefield with a shuddering crash. With the giant construct leading the way, formations of the First Guard and Pathfinders converge on the siege castle.

Gulgamodh bulldozes down the outer gate head-first. Waiting inside is a battalion of demons led by a minotaur champion with metal plates bolted to its body and wielding an overlarge sword. It sweeps the sword at Gulgamodh, tearing open a terrible gash that nearly splits the giant construct in two. Gulgamodh lets out a drawn-out, metallic wail before collapsing in the gateway.

The ancient guardian may have fallen, but the path into the castle is open. Don’t waste this opportunity!

With the defeat of Atalazorn, Absalom’s defenders gain palpable momentum on the battlefield and begin advancing on the siege castle. Because the siege castle isn’t big enough for huge formations of the First Guards to enter, the Pathfinders and other local heroes are among the first to storm the fortification.

Gulgamodh’s body, the broken door, rubble, and stairs each count as difficult terrain. The ballistae, columns, and statue block movement and provide cover. The castle’s hasty construction leaves the interior walls rough, requiring only a successful Climb check to scale.

This gatehouse is teeming with horrid fiends, and a seasoned Venture-Captain orders the Pathfinders to engage the enemy: “Greenhorns, kill those snipers in the towers! Experienced Pathfinders, kill me some babaus and nabasus! Tough-as-nails veterans, kill that bucket-headed abomination on the stairs!”

The Venture-Captain organizing groups stops yours. "There is a group of elite demons guarding the gatehouse that are all yours but if you are feeling particularly courageous you can take on the Implacable Beast!"

You have a very quick choice that needs to be made for this tier. you can fight elite demons at your tier or you can take on the Implacable Beast at Tier 10-11. First two votes that are the same we will push forward with.

@Anduris- How high up do you fly?

Tak- which wall are you climbing on the map? You are not near one and are in between walls. One is to the north and one to the south.

Kivuli quickly scales to the top of the wall as he peers down at one of the demons. he recognizes it as a Nabasu Demons. Kivuli knows a few important details about them. Namely that most mortal weapons are weak against them, unless forged from cold iron or good aligned. DR.. Next is that they are immune to death effects, electricity, paralysis, and poison. They have a natural resistance to acid, cold and fire and most spells. SR.

Anduris knows a few more important details. A Nabasu's gaze alone is able to weaken and kill living creatures. Cause negative levels. Those killed in this manner rise as ghouls underneath the Nabasu's control.

For each ghoul that a Nabasu creates it literally grows and becomes more powerful and harder to kill. Gains bonuses to attack, defense, SR, resist bonuses and advanced and giant templates. Along with bonuses to caster level on spell-like abilities.

Nabasus are birthed directly into the Material Plane from the Abyss, where they feed on innocent souls to mature. Only when finally sated can a nabasu return to the Abyss. Rumor holds that even then the nabasu’s lifecycle does not change, and that further developments await them as they continue to grow. These vile demons form from the souls of evil gluttons, particularly from cannibals, blood-drinkers, and those who prefer the tang of undead flesh.

Tak scales to the top of the wall as well. Peering around the corner Theo fires a single arrow at the southern Nabasu. The arrow cuts cleanly through the creature's wings.

Bambang flies over the crumbling wall and descends down upon the demon. His greatsword clipping it's wings. Leaping back the red eyed demon's throat contorts as it almost seems to wheeze out a few strange coughs. Bambang, Tak, and Theo all seem to feel their muscles begin to grow rigid.

@Bambang, Tak, and Theo need a DC 21 Will save vs Mass Hold Person.

The green eyed demon blinks out of sight and Bambang watches as it appears through a magical crack in reality on the other side of his room.

Lets activate the boosted inspiration token!

Will save: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 22 Yay for the aura of hope!

Theo feels the demons foul magic trying to bind his limbs, and for a moment, it feels like even his hardy dwarven resistances will not be enough... but then he feels the hopeful aura emanating from Nail, and with one final mental effort, is able to shake off the malaise.

Seeing his initial target disappear and reappear in the opposite gatehouse, he snarls, and climbs back over the debris, closing with the nearer demon.

Double move

He calls to Fairbeaks, the larger bird having a much easier time scaling the rubble, as it leaps down behind him, and lashes out at the second demon with its powerful beak... though the blow barely gets through the creatures profane hide!

Single move, and bite!

bite vs red, PA, bless: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 1 + 3 = 25, for 2d6 + 14 + 3 ⇒ (1, 1) + 14 + 3 = 19 damage (minus DR).

So rd/lvl buffs from prev combat have expired and we didn't have time to do new buffs? Got it. Sorry then but quite a bit of retcon:
- No time to transfer mental focus
- Didn't activate legacy weapon (i.e. no bane), heroism, shield or mirror image
- Also, as he has exhausted his transmutation points, his constitution drops by 4. (Sigh, I'm not playing this character properly.)
- If GM allows, Bambang will retcon the previous round. Instead of attacking, he would cast heart of the metal to make the main weapon of everyone in the team bypass DR cold iron. If no retcon, Bambang's attack roll would be 20, not 24. Damage would be 26, not 38, and would not bypass DR cold iron.

Bambang almost feels the pull of the foul magic descend on him but with Nail's aura, he pushes it out of his mind.
