The last time I ran this the minotaur was not disarmed and he got his 2 attacks which I think crit, both of them, on her.

I ran away as fast as my little hafling legs could carry me, boosted by my magic, for a bit. We traded blows back and forth but eventually I got caught up here. I would have been a gonner if you hadn't save me the halfling responds.

Eventually the expedition back to Absalom without further incident. Once safely back in the Grand Lodge, Master of Scrolls Kreighton Shaine inquires excitedly about what you have found and asks to see your notes. He compliments those who recorded notes for being certain to write down ideas and observations while the thoughts are fresh, observing that it’s difficult enough to remember what one had for breakfast the day before as it is to recall exactly what one was thinking while studying an inscription.

As you are now the foremost authorities on that cave and what it contains, Shaine also invites you to come up with its name. The elf is certain to honor Janira for her guidance and assistance to the Society. He takes this opportunity to reiterate and remind you that being a Pathfinder is a dangerous business.

Three days later, the Master who best represents your interests confirms you as a full Pathfinder field agent. In Absalom, the Venture-Captains claimed it would be a nice walk in the woods, a pleasant change of pace from the bustle of the city. Obviously they forgot about the brambles, boulders, and biting insects of the Verduran Forest, which turned the jouney into an arduous three-day scramble of detours, torn clothes, and near falls.

Fortunately, Venture-Captain Dennel Hamshanks made a firm impression before the expedition left Absalom. The air grew still as Hamshanks rolled into a meeting room deep inside the Pathfinder Lodge in Absalom, his jowls flowing and his enormous axe clanking against his thigh. The man’s black eyes scanned the room. “You lot?” Hamshanks spat.

“Well, maybe you’ll surprise me. Your boat leaves in an hour, so I’ll be brief. One of the Society’s contacts in Andoran sent us an interesting little nugget this morning. A druid named Hemzel swept into Augustana’s Civic Library last week, demanding his right of research. Our contact learned that Hemzel acquired a lorestone from somewhere in the Verduran Forest. Heard of such a thing?” Hamshanks paused expectantly and spat again.

“Of course not. Heard of druids, at least? And their crazy stone circles? Well thank Gorum for that. Lorestones are somehow connected to them—supposedly they can bestow you with all of the knowledge of the druids. We’d like to know how, so we want that stone and you’re going to get it for us.”

“Unfortunately, the Society is not a friend to Hemzel. He’s the self-declared protector of the Verduran Forest inside Andoran’s borders and some of our more eager explorers have angered him and his little band of gnomes. He’s sworn a blood feud with the Pathfinders."

“Break out your skills of persuasion and get me that lorestone. Do what you need to—sweep the floors or plant some trees for the old man. Something nice—let him know we’re there to study and not to slash and burn.”

I will grant you all the option to do any 2 Prestige Point purchases like level 1 wands now.

Cloudia, clueless as usual, at least knows what a Druid is and a teensie bit about Andoran. When he declares what a sorry lot they are, Cloudia responds, "I'm sorry, sir." When he talks about how ignorant they are, she responds, "Yes sir, I know what a druid is sir." And when he mentions that they will need to be diplomats, she murmurs, "Oh dear, me? There must be some mistake," and looks around at the other pathfinders hoping there is a diplomat among them.

By the end of the meeting she is feeling rather small and dejected and looks it.

She will get a wand of clw with the 2 PP from last chronicle and get a wayfinder for 1 PP after this chronicle (assuming she earns 1 PP). Would you prefer a post to that effect in the discussion thread along with character info and a day job roll?

You already have another character in Core that received a wayfinder for free from the confirmation? (assuming this was your first chronicle for this character)

Mao feels uncomfortable at the idea of facing druids and becoming diplomats. He is used to using his fists when solving problems, and too much time at the temple has made him oblivious to the outside world. "That would be a real challenge. But we can't let our fellow pathfinders down, especially after our confirmation rites. Let us accept this mission with optimism. I'm sure we've faced worse assignments before."

As the sun sets on the third day of travel in the Verduran Forest, the welcome sight of a small, wooden hut —Hemzel’s home, according to the map— reveals itself just over a steep hillside covered in thick vines and brambles. Smoke rises lazily from the chimney.

Suddenly you all hear a high voice cackle “Too late, too late for Hemzel!”

Followed by the same voice saying “Gire, finish them!”

As Aurus sees the fast moving glipse of the tiny figure he remembers hearing about Quicklings. Tiny fey creatures that can move very quickly and are invisible when motionless.

Aurus does have dumped Int, so the bardic knowledge means that I'm really relying on 20s - I get a +1 on Kn:Engineering, and a whopping +6 on Kn:Arcana, but everything else is a +0 :)

Aurus curses heavily as he stumbles out of the spider swarm, and hefts the greatsword high to swing down at the rat.

Yeah, fighting swarms is in basic pathfinder training, distraction nausea only lasts 1 round (but if you are in a swarm you can get it again.)

I moved Cloudia's icon now that I am able to. She was supposed to move 60' away from the rats and spiders. That would have been to the east but there is no room on the map, so I moved her south. The entangle area could be shifted to capture her but if left as is then she is outside the area. So is she entangled and if so could you move the area of effect?

If she is entangled she will try to use her magic missile spell to free herself (20% spell failure chance) and get out of the area, otherwise she will blast the fey and do damage. I think. See entangled condition and how to use a force spell to free oneself. But it is under a section on spellblight so I'm not sure if it applies or not.

Attempt to free herself if entangled, 20 or less is failure: 1d100 ⇒ 54
Damage, if not entangled: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

The size of the entangle is indeed large enough to have you in it even if you move, so yes, you are entangled. The optional rules you descibe are 1. optional and normally not allowed in PFS, but 2. from Untimate Magic, so in no way allowed in Core, so no cigar I'm afraid. If you want to magic missle the fey, you'll need a concentration check.

Cloudia will attempt to break free! There is no way she is going to stay entangled with a swarm of spiders running around if she can help it.
