Oh and hi Draazhin! I mentioned you in my backstory, albeit very briefly.
I have two Cavaliers with Precise Strike, so I'm very familiar with it.
Skoll isn't a huge front liner, but once shillelagh happens his club does a whopping d8 damage!!!

Yay! This will be fun.
I notice I'm the only selectee to have the Shoulder-to-Shoulder trait. Would anyone care to pick it up, or should I switch to something else?
*cough* Um, I mean..
*beats terbutje against shield* "Let's kill some mites!"

I have high hopes for this game, most especially my hope that we all enjoy it and have fun. I've got the first post up already in the gameplay thread, so take a look, report in, and feel free to give us somewhat of an idea of just how your character feels about things. Remember, the tribe is decimated, and you may very well be headed out on a suicide mission, yet it promises the glory of one of you becoming the tribe's new warchief, and almost certainly means none of you shall have to worry about being sacrificed to Old Sharptooth.

Thanks for the invite GM, very happy to be here.
Sezzen I would be willing to pick Shoulder to Shoulder trait with you.
I'll be gone for the most part today though, I'm helping my brother paint in his new home.

Indeed the Precise strike feat is probably the best one to take as a 1st level Cavalier, especially since we as Kobolds are not big damage dealers unless we do precision damage. Of course eventually as a beast rider I hope to be riding a large & strong beast of some kind in the future like a T-Rex so that should give my character some more damage dealing potential.
As for a suicide mission, Draahzin has survived those in the past and came out on top. He's pretty confident for a Kobold.

Sezzen I would be willing to pick Shoulder to Shoulder trait with you.
Cool!
Shorter folk are welcome to hide in my shadow, so long as they don't stab me in the back. ;)

Sezzen still believes she's immortal, as all young things do. Older, more experienced warriors have failed? They must have done something wrong - perhaps something their enemy expected and prepared for - which she will not.
If she finds their corpses? It will at least be good to retrieve the cold iron weapons that she worked on, under smith Julnahn's watchful eye. Those always take much longer than normal since you can't properly heat the metal, and she's displeased that her effort has been wasted.

| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Something I've really liked in other sandbox games is a rumors page - "What You Hear". Local legends, idle speculation, just plain gossip. The kind of thing anyone would learn if they took 10 on a Gather Information check. It really adds to the unique feel of individual settlements.

I do like rumors et al - they are really making the Razor Coast PbP I' m playing in a lot of funand very immersive.
The only problem here is this doesn't feel like much of a sandbox (in that, at the moment we are pretty muchgoing to the big tree) nor are there more than 10 other kobolds in our tribe, so not really a big society for rumors.
Having said that, I second Sezzen's call for "Local legends, idle speculation, just plain gossip." Would be great to hear what we as Sootscales hear or know.

@Sezzen: Having lived in a small forest community of less than 40 souls I think I do.
My favorite quote: "Just because we all live in the same valley doesn't mean we all have to be friends."
Parties where feuds meant who would go and who wouldn't.
Salacious gossip that grew with each telling and was rarely based on any truth.
Got even better when a bushfire threatened and 2/3 of the families left...

Is the journey such that we would need to bring extra rations to make it there and back?
"there should be more than plenty for the journey there and back."
The four days of rations is, effectively, enough to make sure you can get there, get back the idol, and return, even if severely encumbered. What it isn't enough for, is dilly-dallying, exploring, etc. If you do anything except go straight there and come back, you'll need more than the four days' worth that the tribe has granted to you for free.

I did mention that Draahzin packed some extra rations into his saddlebags. Roughly an extra days food for each person in the party. Just so you know while Draahzin is not encumbered, the wolf is as he is carrying both him and his equipment and thus carrying a medium load (The wolf is only 13 strength so it is not a powerhouse). Hence its speed is only 35 at the moment, not much faster than the average kobold. The wolf does have the Endurance feat though so can easily handle the weight.

I'm not upset as a Player Yressk. I think all the RP is fantastic.
Skoll isn't trying to be troublesome either, his Wisdom merely prevents him from supporting rash or what he sees as dangerous plans.
Draazhin and others have proposed good plans, Skoll just doesn't think we are following a good one yet.
If the mites outnumber us AND have homegound advantage, we need to cohere or we'll get wiped out.

Hey, everyone. I meant to have something up, but then Halloween was immediately followed by my grandfather being hospitalized for severe respiratory problems, and I only live about ten minutes from the hospital, whereas my parents are globetrotters who had to fly back home. I'll try to get in the right mindset to get something up tonight if I can, but I might just need a full night of rest to stop worrying he's going to die at any moment.

Draazhin is honorable but is also evil. He does not see himself as an equal to the rest of the party. While he will take advice and plan accordingly he does not trust Yresk to get the task done alone and him sneaking off risks the plan. Hence why he wants to get in there and get it done and he will not be told by Werpfoil to do otherwise. Obeying him would be a sign of weakness.

@GM Dalenka: Oy. Best wishes to him.
Just a heads up, I'm flying out to a friends' wedding on 11/4 and will be hanging around to visit family/go hiking/etc. for another week or so. Internet access is likely to be spotty. Return flight is on 11/14.
If the need arises, someone is welcome to NPC Sezzen for combat.
