I realize I am missing traits. I hope to update that, once I can get access to the selection for this adventure path. I will probably go with merchant oriented traits.

Unfortunately there are no merchant based campaign traits

d20pfsrd does not have Dockside avenger or Variasan Immunity listed

all traits on d20pfsrd

I'd like to play an oracle. Likely an aasimar oracle of heavens or metal.

--------------------
Background/History:Daliir suspects now his elven father is one of the guards protecting the Mierani ambassador, or perhaps Perishial Kalissreavil himself. Many of those with elf blood in Korsova could make the same guess, after all.

He's far less certain of who his human mother was. He was given up to an orphanage as a baby under a cloud of mystery. Perhaps his mother could not care for him, or perhaps she was ashamed. Whatever her reason, she did him no favor turning him over to the place. The Orphan Matron was a corrupt, greedy, and lazy woman who had little use for a child that 'didn't grow proper no how' due to slower aging.

When Gaedren Lamm came on the scene a few years later with a interest in purchasing some lads and lasses 'for a trade', she sold young Daliir without a qualm. The 'trade of being a 'little lamm'' was brutal, savage, and unyielding. Lamm was a bully to them all, but he seemed to favor the lads who were also cruel and so Daliir, 'stunted' as he was by his slower growth, often received it from all sides.

He comforted himself with dreams where he wrecked terrible vengeance on those that were cruel to him, the matron who'd sold him into slavery, Bizt, the boy who bullied him, and most especially Lamm himself. Alas, dreams were all they were.

Until Calistra appeared in his life in a most unusual way. Bzzt was attempting to ply a pouch off a local whore. Seeing his chance to wreck a LITTLE revenge, and (Now becoming a teenager) noticing that girls such as the whore were more than mildly intriguing, he threw a stone at the back of Bzzt's head, ruining the attempt to swipe her goods as she was alerted. She gave Bzzt a good slash across the face, sending him fleeing. Daliir hid had hidden from Bzzt, but the whore saw the stone on the ground, and noticed him in the shadow, and put two and two together.

She gave him his first kiss, and a symbol about her neck as a reward to his 'rescuer'. Daliir was pleasantly confused and intrigued not just by the kiss, but the symbol itself. Calistra was not a 'main goddess' in the city per se, but the more he learned, the more he liked what he heard. He began to pray to the goddess at night, hoping for his chance at freedom and revenge.

One day, Lamm found out about the symbol, and the praying. He beat Daliir within an inch of his life, and broke the symbol before his eyes, leaving the boy to die.

Bleeding and wounded, the half elf staggered to the last location anyone had shown him kindness. He awoke within the brothel, a priestess of the goddess tending to his wounds.

To say the teenage boy had stumbled onto a much better trade would be to put it mildly. More years passed, and a young cleric's faith and power grew. Daliir's first act of vengeance was finding the matron that had sold him in the first place and , hiding his identity, giving her a lash for every year of hell he could remember. She fled town and was not seen again. His next was Bzzt, who he set up to get caught THIS time stealing near a hellknight. The results were gratifying, gruesome, and educational.

Now, he seeks one more act of revenge, he intends to bring pain to one Gaedren Lamm.

Personality/Motivation: After a life time of being used and abused by one person or another, Daliir has become VERY good at reading others and what they want. In many ways, either thwarting or help people get their desires is what his goddess is all about, afte all.

Despite his seeming focus on the vengeance aspect of his goddess, Daliir actually enjoys the lustier parts a great deal more, and enjoys pulling one over people now and then. His act of vengeance he has taken has been a balm to his soul, and he looks forward to the sweet feeling he'll have when Lamm is begging for mercy. After that is done, Daliir can turn his attention to his goal of establishing his own temple to Calistra where beautiful women can safely ply their trade under his appreciative eye.

So, more or less finished.

Learln Greytide

Backround:
Visibly a haunted man, Learln arrived in Korvosa about a month back, presenting himself as a scholar, traveling the coast towns of Golarion in search of lore about sea dragons and elven connections to the them.
Yet soon afterwards his studies ground to an halt when a man introducing himself as Gaedren offered him "a way to rid himself of the ghosts of the past and find enlightenment", selling him a big vial filled with a clear substance which he was meant to take before going to sleep.
Needless to say that this was a bad idea, as the clear overdose send him to the brink of death and into a deep, shivering coma from which he awoke only recently.
Yet his near death had also another effect, when the Pharasmian cleric's care yanked his mind back the ghosts that haunted his dreams followed in a way. Ever since he is haunted by strange happenings and found to have powers which don't seem to be a late manifestation of his sorcerous heritage but rather come from the outside. The cleric, a young acolyte called
Tarwas, is sure that Learln was chosen by Pharasma, as his survival borders to a miracle.
Be that as it may, for now Learln is not amused with being haunted literally in addition to figuratively and determined to find this "Gaedren" and make him pay.

Further Information (not widely known):

-Learln grew up as the son of two powerful elven sorcerers in a small coastal community.
-While he has some magical talent he was never able to sling spells as his parents did,
becoming a scholar and Lorekeeper
-When he was 62 the village was destroyed by a Great Wyrm Sea Dragon, his parents and many villagers killed.
- For the last 74 years he has wandered the coasttowns of Golarion, following his profession of Lorekeeper, but also searching for an explanation why a "good" Sea Dragon would attack his hometown, haunted by this question for most of his life.
- He also already tried one or the other drug to rid himself of the ghosts of the past

Information he doesn't know or realise himself:

-the dragon didn't "attack the village", he went directly after his parents. All the other dead were simply collateral damage, most actually killed by his parents spells.
-his parents were actually enslaved by an ancient kraken from the plane of water who empowered them with the essence of his marid servants in exchange for servitude.
-the dragon attacked because they were trying to summon their master to Golarion

Personality:

Learln is a very brooding man, still haunted by the past, yet at times also very vivid and impulsive.
While he usually keeps himself composed and polite, he does not always think things through, leading to his various run ins with drugs and also his decision to go after Gaedren himself.

*Note* He is neither Chaotic Stupid nor Chaotic A+*%!+$. As many chaotic neutral characters fall into one of those categories I just felt that I have to point that out.

Description:

Learln is mostly a typical young elf, although the life with the ocean gave his family very pallid skin with slight blue hue and eyes the color of a clear ocean.
Lately he also hasn't completely recovered from his overdose, a sick paleness shifts his skin slightly to an unhealthy green.

PS: Sometimes the possible options for an avatars feel very limited...

your not the only one who thinks the avatar selection is limited, Finkmilkana.

Merry Christmas all.
Korvosa won't know what hit it.

If I throw another character into the mix, should I link to it from this one or post in a new ID?

Merry Christmas to all.

I think a new ID is a better plan,

If you want a deletable alias, you create it, fill in it's data, and post a link to the alias,
But Do Not post with that alias as the second you post it's no longer deletable.

Well, since she's already un-deletable, I'll just do it this way. I made this oracle for a different campaign that I didn't get picked for, but I like her. Tweaking will be needed for her backstory and her stats, but you get the idea.

Btw, how long do you plan to keep recruitment open?

Merry Christmas, everyone!

With the rate things are going now, probably through the end of this week. We've got a pretty good field so far and I'm mostly holding out from a final decision at this point because A) I've been too busy with the holidays to sit down and make tough choices and B) I want to see if any more of the people who said they were going to make characters or were making second characters finish those up. I should hopefully be able to overcome A today and we'll see how B works itself out.

I was going to roll up another character, but things have gotten busy at work for me this week. I think I'll stick with my single submission. ;)

In that case I guess we don't have too many people that we're still waiting on. And it looks like I've had a little time this morning to look through some things so hopefully you guys should hear something from me before the end of the day!

This is my aasimar oracle: Rivane

I'm finishing the background right now.

Can we substitute the daylight spell-like ability for one of the random variant aasimar abilities from Blood of Angels?

Sure, I'll need to see the roll on the table though and then you can pick either the result or Daylight.

Variant Aasimar Ability: 1d100 ⇒ 56

Zone of truth... I like it, it's very flavorful.

You can cast zone of truth once per day as a spell-like ability. Looking forward to that background as the selection process is getting pretty close!

The site has been mean to me and not allowed me to edit the profile of my alias... But here is the stats of Ferka Olasz for your enjoyment/suffering.

Ugly and quickly made stat thingy because the site decided to devour the pretty one which took a long time to make... twice.:

I'll try later and see if I can put this into the alias, but as you mentioned that you are going to do the selection soon, I decided to play it safe and post it here also. My apologies in advance if it causes any trouble.

Why I always type everything long out in notepad before trying to post it :P

Hopefully you'll be able to get a background up soon since those are really what I'm using to decide who gets in. I'm also going to just go ahead and say now that I'm closing recruitment at 5:30PM PST. That's 4 hours from now for anyone who is bad with time zones. I'm basically 4/5 of the way decided at the moment and am holding out for a few more backgrounds to be posted before making a final decision on the final slot.

Rivane "Hears-The-Departed" is ready.

Managed to get the profile up. :)

Link.

It's about time for the closing.

Alright, here we go. There were a lot of great submissions so my choices here were quite difficult. To those of you that didn't make it, best of luck finding other games and I'll give you all consideration if anyone drops out of this game. To those that did make it, make your way over to the newly created Discussion Thread and get to know each other. And now, here is the list:

Alastair Stills: Halfling Rogue

Travigan Frost: Half-Elf Barbarian

Seraphina "Red" Allin: Human Fighter

Rivane Hears-The-Departed: Aasimar Oracle

Xavaros Dalanar: Elf Wizard (me)

Thanks everyone!

Congrats to those that made it!

Thanks for picking me! It's an honour.
