Started flipping through it last night.

Hope I get hard copy soon. I find it hard to digest pdfs.

Hey Radavel, am I waiting for you or are you waiting for me?

LOL

I figured as much but thought I would give you a hard time about it in character anyway. :)

Thom,

I saw your post in another thread where you lamented that everybody in our game hasn't had enough to do, but it's been fun for me and I think you've just given me an opportunity to pull some of the others back on the stage. I'll see what I can do. Like Keliwyn, I need to take a bit of time to review everything and see what dots can be connected. I'll sit down, read through all the posts and sketch things out before I pick an IC course of action.

It's quite the web you've woven, and as I said before, it's interesting to see how everything is coming together.

Just read Keliwyn's last -- yay, thanks, Bill!

Nice posts, Billzabub.

Keliwyn, Arando, Jeorik and Chris Mortika. On the manifest question, amend Dorman's notes regarding a "manifest", to just ask if the document is authentic. I'd rather not try to amend it in character at this time.

So far on DAY one: Darvyl and Darthen are home for the night. Everyone else is in mid-afternoon.

I'm thinking it would be good to fast forward the RP for the rest of day one so we can get D&D back to actively posting. Any objections?

Sorry just saw your post. Will update now.

No problem. i was thinking of having Keliwyn call on Darvyl to see what he knows about Garven's plans, etc., and then figured Darvyl would pull in Darthen again. Maybe even have him check with Inigo, too. Regardless, however you want to move things ahead is fine with me.

Perhaps wait until day 2 to fetch Darvyl.

Billzabub, strike my last comment. But for continuity's sake, if you fetch Darvyl tonight, do it late. Or wait til day 2. Your choice.

Hello. For those of you who haven't heard, my dad has a heart attack this past weekend. He's still in a coma, and there's no telling whether he's going to make it, or whether he'll ever regain consciousness.

Until things resolve themselves, I'm spending as much time as I can with my family in St. Louis, where I don't have dependable internet service. And, frankly, my head isn't in any space where I can keep up with a PbP campaign.

I'm sorry --particularly to Thereal Thom-- but I need to take a break until I can post more regularly.

Hey Chris, sorry to hear that. Do whatever you need to do and my prayers will be with your family.

Family first. My prayers are with you and yours.

Chris, no apologies needed. Take care of your family. Best of luck to your Dad. I hope his prognosis is good.

Darvyl, Darthen we should be getting back to you soon. If you or anybody else for that matter wants to start retooling your characters with the Crimson Throne Player's Guide in mind that would be OK with me. There's some nice perks it might be worth trading for.

Great!

Unfortunately, work's kicking my ass right now in anticipation of some upcoming travel, but I'll try to stay alert to what's going on.

Ok, I will go back through the PG again today.

The Exchange

I am still here and reading everyday just waiting for everything to kind of catch up. I will get a post up today in regards to Keliwyn and Darvyl coming back into the Inn.

Male Human Fighter 3

Hey, all.

Heading to Chicago in the morning through Sunday. I should still be able to post most evenings, but I can't promise much.

Thom,
I was waiting to see if the Harrow Deck was going to ship this week before asking this. Can I incorporate the Harrow Deck into Darthen's background? I saw the titles of some posts that say there is info on the deck in the new PF, but I tried my best to stay out of everything Korvosa related. If you can check out the Harrow Deck and feel it can work for Darthen then let me know. Oh I should also note that I was thinking about the Sable Company Marine feat. I don't know how that would fit in with the AP as you are working for a government agency. Which I would think cuts down on your adventuring hours. Anyway, I leave all that up to you to decide.

First off, sorry I've been out of touch. Combination of my wife working on the computer and me trying to slog through the pdf for Crimson Throne. (I read so slowly on screen.)

Second, Crimson Throne is here. Do you guys want to :

A> drop this story line immediately and jump into throne?

B> have me summarize day 2 and put you into what was going to be the big finish, basically a bit o' combat?

C> continue as we've been going?

B is my personal favorite. Let me know how you guys feel.

Third, reworking characters. If anyone feels they'd like to rework their characters in light of the CTPG (crimosn throne players guide), now is the time. Bonuses from CTPG may be swapped out for bonuses you've already taken from Runelords players guide.

Fourth, CTPG ties backstory hooks to bonuses. Most are based on character's personal history with Gaedran Lamm, a local disappointingly petty criminal. As long as a large fraction of the party has history with Lamm, things will work out. So don't feel obliged to force anything into your character's history. Additionally, feel free to de-couple the linkage between bonuses and history. If you take one of the bonuses, you may use the history as written, or write-up something else.

Wicht, since your character is new in town, he's the most problematic in terms of linking him to Lamm. I could besmirch the reputation of one of Dorman's daughters if needed. Or you could pass on any history with Lamm.

TheOcho, you may read whatever you like in PF7 as long as you can avoid mixing your knowledge with Darthen's knowledge. A Harrow connection would be very cool.

Sable Marine is a long way off, and I dislike it as written. Cool idea, but it was super lame to have the prereq be 4th level ranger. I would want to rewrite the requirements to qualify for the class. We should talk more because you may want to start grooming the character now. Working for the Sable Company shouldn't be a real problem, but may induce some party friction and may force your charcter to make some tough choices. You may not be a marine forever.

I'd be happy with either B or C.

B or C is fine with me as well. The story you wove for us has been pretty cool so far. Everything seems to be meshing really well for us.

It's not really being able to keep the knowledge separate but spoiling the surprises that are in store. It is easy to change up some of the campaign, but the overall story arc is still the same. Feigning surprise is never as much fun as actually being surprised. :)

I agree the sable marine feat should be reworked a bit. For one a level 4 ranger with access to a flying transportation mount which can effectively act in combat. Second the party friction is not something I want to do. Maybe getting conscripted into the sable company but after a level or two getting kicked out or quitting. I don't know just something to throw around.

Does the harrow deck require a feat to use? My deck should be here this week. If any of you are not getting the deck and are interested in it let me know and I will post some info on it.

I am fine with B if that is the direction the DM wants to go. As for background, I was assuming that it would probably be easiest to tie in Jeorik to Lamm through his uncle but I am fine with my character as is and though I will look at the backgrounds more closely (I am hoping to get the hard copy today or tomorrow) I don't expect to be changing (Big Game Hunter just seems to fit).

B for Combat!

Who are you, and what have you done with Inigo?!

Me just standing in. Inigo cooking dinner.

B or C is fine with me. I'd actually say I lean toward C more, but it'll probably be good to get us all together sooner rather than later. However you want to get us there is fine, as long as we don't go with A. I'm curious as hell about how this will all come together.

If I get a chance, I'll probably pick up a Harrow deck, too. Keliwyn's take would not be so much for fortune telling, as an elf, that concept amuses him. Instead, he likes it for the gambling, which, of course, encourages those social interactions he values so much.

I don't think there was much else in the PG that interested me for Keliwyn, but I'll take another look.

male Human ranger 1

Looks like B or C is the favorite. I'll wait til tomrrow night to hear from Dan.

Stilgar is always welcome here, on his own merits.

TheOcho, I'm not planning on buying a Harrow deck, so anything you can post here above and beyond the PF7 writeup would be greatly appreciated.

Me thank Nik for his hospitality.

Billzabub, Pat, and THeOCho finish your conversation anyway Whether its B or C tomorrow won't begin until tonight is over.

Oh, cookie, cookie, cookie starts with C

Of course, good ol' Sesame Street now has a song about how cookies are a 'sometimes' food . . . .

LOL. I really dig the way you guys pick up my super-subtle uber-erudite allusions.

Still haven't heard from Dan. I sent him an email asking his preference. I'm leaning heavily to B now, especially since Darthen knows about the Maggie Bright.

Boy, I've missed a lot on this. I'm OK with whatever others want to do.

If you prefer B, Tom, that's OK.

To answer other questions, "Dordhed" goes back to Rolla days. "Dordhead" was the nickname we gave to this nitwit who thought he knew much more than he really did. I think now, that is me.

As far as the hellknight thing goes, in character, I would be missing a lot of background, and will play my character that way.

Survivor's Salvation

OK, everyone please finish RPing Day 1 evening activities and post your plan for Day 2 morning.

For the Dorman crowd, FYI Day 2 is his day in court. roughly 10 AM start.

Is anyone considering charcter rework? Darthen's expressed some interest. Jeorik seems satisfied. It would be nice if some subset of characters incorporated a Gaedren Lamm hook into their history.

How about this idea?... Jeorik has a second uncle. Perhaps Wermis Vandor has been framed at some point in the past by Lamm and this is partly the reason he has not had a better life. This would naturally offend Jeorik and though his animosity is not ancient, Jeorik's personality is such that he would happily seek to deal with one who has besmirched the family name with lies and deceit. Besides which the very existence of such a man seems an affront to all Jeorik values and believes.

Jeorik could learn the details from Dorman and his cousins.

Sorry, lost track of that question.

Sure, I'll take

Spoiler:
Ozmo being addicted (after moving in at his new job), and the +2 on Knowledge: Local.
That work?

As far as Day 2, I'm just headed to the new job.

I thought Ozmo was a natural for addcition.

I hadn't forgotten Wermis. He had a bigger role in the extended version of the intro, which I still might be able to twist around. I'd like the connection to be a little more vicseral than Dorman bemoaning a past wrong. This is good though. Let me work on details.

Survivor's Salvation

Looks like everyone's done with Day 1. I plan on some long posts for tonight or this weekend to start off day 2. (including filling in some of Darthen's questions from Day 1 with Darvyl and Keliwyn too. )

Roger that. Hopefully the hotel will have internet. I'll try to get Darvyl's post up first.

Sorry, guys, my wife's plans, and son's B-ball tourney, and, let's face it, my poor planning and wish to finish up a character in a new Pbp, resulted in a lack of promised posts by me this weekend . Tournament ends tonight so I probably won't post until Tuesday, except Darvyl's post today at lunch.

Apoloies again.
