Tessa also discovers several records of Lamm's various schemes. Besides fencing stolen valuables, three letters describe some of Gaedren Lamm's more disturbing activities.
Cheers to our new partnership. It seems that you are quite the businessman. You shall find several more vials of shiver in their usual spot on Oathday an hour past midnight.

If Bosch reads the letter, he recognizes the name of one of the dwarves who had been causing trouble for the local human smiths of Korvosa.

Tessa Alee |

jeez, that's a lot to take in
Tessa searches through the room, getting more and more disturbed at what she finds.
I knew Lamm was a pig, but this takes the cake! He lived like a goblin!
She collects all the loot, pooling together the gems and valuables. She takes the wand for herself - Corwin got the last one, after all.
When Tessa opens the hatbox, she gasps and jumps back.
"Eek! Oh my stars, that's bad. Poor Zellara..."
Wait a minute... Zellara called us to her house to meet with us. We left right away to come here... how did her head end up here before us? Something ain't right here.
"Guys? You might want to come in here and look at this."

Bandru Varz |

Bandrus jaw drops amd his eyes go wide at the sight of the fortune tellers head.

One last thing for today - I will be quiet and let you guys figure out your next steps
The circular gold brooch depicts a pseudodragon and an imp coiled around each other in an almost yin-yang pattern. The pseudodragon’s eye is an amethyst, while the imp’s eye is an emerald. The brooch itself is worth 1,000 gp, but more importantly, Corwin knows that it is the possession of Queen Ileosa herself.

Bosch Glasthane |

Bosch quietly reads the letters, when he gets to the third one he carefully folds it up and slips it into his breastplate. Ignoring the others for a moment, he walks back to Hooks and grabs the little gnome, dragging him past Lamm's dead pet and to Lamm's corpse. With the gnome watching he takes his sword and lops Lamm's head off. He takes the bloody thing and hands it to Hooks.
"Take this to the nearest guardhouse with the message 'Korvosa will clean up its own streets if it needs to.' If you tell them who did this, well... I don't have to tell you what will happen. In fact your best bet is to turn yourself over to the authorities and rethink your life before I rethink just what your part in all this was."
Once Hooks departs, Bosch turns to the others and fishes the Harrow deck out of the box. Casually he begins flicking through it, looking for the Keep.
"It means we return to Zellara's residence and look for anything that might be useful. We're at the wrong end of an ugly game here."

Corwin Avelard |

"And while I echo Bosch's initial thoughts, I believe that we need to be especially cautious. There is some stratagem afoot here that I think may be beyond simple child labor." Corwin holds up the stunning brooch so that the rest of the companions can see it.
"This is a brooch of Queen Ileosa herself. I am not joking when I say that this would not be here without some sort of connection to the royal house."
"Just by possessing this brooch, we may be breaking the law, and as such, we will need to do something to divest ourselves of this quickly."
"Before we do anything else however, I think we need to see to the safety of the children. Lamm must have left enough money for us to lodge the children somewhere. That way we can see to their return in time while we investigate the false-fortuneteller. I suggest the 'Fainting Peacock' on Grain Street. I have stayed there before and the owner is kindly enough."

Bandru Varz |

Bandru will step in front of hooks and stop him from leaving.
The wisest ones have said that one left to their own desire will fulfill their own desire. Meaning once Mr Hooks leaves he will go straight away to where his desires will be fulfilled. To a bigger croock in charge, leaving the city, or going to the authorities and making up stories. to trust him to do the good thing after all the evil he has done
Looking at the others
He should be tied up and the children should lead him to the authorities with the evidence. But everything else I agree with in total

Typhon B'Ru |

Ty will walk into the room, belting on Lamm's daggers. He looks at all the loot with longing, then glances in the Hatbox.
"Holy Mother of Dreams! Is that what i think it is?!? Is she a twin or are we helping a ghost? Makin me twitchy."
He stands stunned for a moment then slowely drop his pack onto a counter.
"Here Corwin. I found this upstairs, it'll be enough for the kids for a while anyway. Also some kinda Deed for the fishery here. Its NOT in Lamm's name."He says while pulling a stack of files and some bags out of his pack.
Deed and some bags with 50 gp total
He will then grab a sheet off the bed shaking it to clear the bugs, and head back upstairs.
It did feel like somebody was guiding my hand,at least a little, in that fight with Lamm.
Gathering the other loot left upstairs. He is a river rat and sells salvage for a living.8D

Bandru Varz |

We need to decide what our next steps will be
Bandru will look at the others
I believe we need to search the barge before we leave.
As far as Hooks goes, he will not turn himself in if we let him go.
We need to take care of these kids and get them to their parents and if they don't have them maybe we can take this place of evil and change it to an orphanage and a place of love and hope. We also need to go back to the fortune tellers home and investigate this further.
shaking his head
It seems we have many decisions to make here but it should be a consensus seeing we are now in this together.

Tessa Alee |

"We should get the kids to safety first. I don't think they'll like sticking around here even if we clean the place up. Better to burn it to the ground, I say. Once the kids are safe lets check that barge in case there's more to find of Lamm's depravity... then lets see what's at Zellara's place. After that we'll know all we can and then we can decide what to do with the Queen's brooch. Sound good?"

DM medlii |
As you make your way back into the main area of the fishery, you find the children huddled around the hole leading to the area under the fishery. They crowd around you as you return.
Bee and Roscoe go to Bosch. "Did Mr. Lamm say we could go home?"
Wren goes to Corwin. "The bells have been ringing and ringing, Father, and they aren't just telling the hour. What does it mean?"
The rest of the children mob Tessa, Bandru, and Typhon. Some of the children are a bit older and seem to have a better idea of your mission. Others just question you to find out what's going on. "Did you kill him?" one of the boys asks. "Do we have to work for you now?" asks another. "Can we go see what's down there? I know he keeps all the treasures there!"
There are about twenty children in total, as well as Mr. Hooks. As you discuss how to move a crowd of children through the city streets, you can hear the church bells tolling, as well as shouting and clamoring from outside, though you cannot make out any specific words.
It sounds like you'd like to get the children to safety for now. In the interest of keeping the game moving, here we go... Let me know if you have any specific methods for corralling or keeping an eye on the kids while you take them to stay at the inn that Corwin brought up.
Feel free to roleplay the kids and pets of your characters. I will use them to give you information sometimes though.

Typhon B'Ru |

Ty squats down among the children."Yes. Lamm is dead, he was an evil man and needed to be removed. NO, you will not be working for us, nor Mr Hooks. Its too dangerous down there, there are sharks and other hazards. We will try to take you to your homes, if we can. Barring that we will find someone to take care of you."
Man, don't know what to do with all these kids. Orphanages never work well, especially not in my case.Hopefully they have parents we can find. or relatives at least.
He looks up as the tolling bells penetrate into his consiousness.
" Last time I heard them like that there was a fire near the docks. Wonder whats happining now?"

Bosch Glasthane |

Did we check the door leading into the barge?
"Hooks, keep that head out of sight if you want to survive the night, you're with us for now," Bosch orders as he helps the others up through the hole. Roscoe spins in place as he spies his master. Once up, he gives the faithful beast a scratch behind the ears and a piece of jerky.
"Good boy, we're going to have to make you some new chain if you keep growing like this." The dog stares up at him placidly, Bee was back in their possession and his master was... better, not happy but not angry.
"I'll take point until we get to the inn and get the children settled. We can regroup there and figure out what those bells are on about." He claps his hands loudly, surprisingly at ease around children.
"Alright kids!" Bosch says loudly enough to get their attention, "I'm Bosch Glasthane, Bee's poppa, this is Roscoe, Mr. Typhon B'Ru, Ms. Tessa Alee, Mr. Corwin Avelard and Mr. Bandru Varz. We're going to make sure you're all taken care of. Right now we're taking you to an inn for the night but it sounds like there is something going on out there. So everyone go get your stuff and link hands. I don't want any of you getting separated."
Once Bee had her things, Bosch knelt and scooped her up, carrying the precocious five year old easily.

Bandru Varz |

Bandru will bring up the rear and keep guard.
I do wish it could have gone differently but an evil has been removed.
looking at the kids Bandru smiles knowing that in the end the lives saved were worth taking the law into his own hands.

Corwin Avelard |

Ringing bells? Does Corwin hear them?
"Tessa, while I admire your enthusiasm for removing this blight from the city, I would remind you that the neighbors of this building will not be happy when this entire block catches fire."
"I suggest that we do as you say and get the children to safety. The inn that I spoke of will do quite nicely for that. After that I believe we need to track down whomever is using the fortunteller's likeness. Then we can decide how to deal with this property. It may be worth it to sell the property off or trade for something a little less...rickety."

DM medlii |
Yes, you can all hear the bells. You could not hear them when you were in the lower level with the fighting and distraction, but now that you are upstairs and it's a little less noisy, you can.
Here is the barge info... not really worth getting into a separate combat for that (four spiders with 2 HP each)
I am posting several scenes at once. If you'd like to interact with any of these scenes, even if it seems like we've 'moved on,' feel free. For example, if you'd like to do something at the Fishery before you arrive at the Fainting Peacock, post it all.
The Barge
Bosch cautiously enters the barge through the hidden door before returning to the children. Several barrels, crates, and other containers lie stacked here and there, and a shallow layer of river water has collected in puddles. A soft scratching sound comes from behind a few of the crates. Four mottled brown spiders about the size of rats scurry out as he enters, but Bosch dispatches them with his longsword. As he clambers through the spider webs, it seems that he is the first person to set foot in this barge for quite some time. There is no sign that Lamm, his cronies, or the captured children have been on it. It seems that whoever last used the barge took all of their belongings with them - searching the hold, top deck, and cabin yields nothing.
The Fishery & the Streets of Korvosa
At Bosch's command, the children link hands in twos and threes. Corwin leads the group through the night to the Fainting Peacock. During the short walk, a wing of Sable Company griffon riders swoops overhead, angling toward Castle Korvosa at a breakneck pace. Numerous bells continue to ring. The voice of a Korvosan herald cuts through the din: “The king is dead! Long live the queen!” People are milling about the streets, coming out of their homes to see what the commotion is about. None approach you, but it is unusual to see this many people about at this hour of the night.
The Inn - Fainting Peacock
The proprieter of the Fainting Peacock, Theandra Mulsk, greets Corwin warmly. "Mr. Avelard! What can I get for you today? A room? A hot bowl of oyster soup?" She peers at the small crowd of children gathered behind Corwin. "My! They aren't all yours, are they?" Corwin knows Theandra from previous stays at the Peacock - the inkeep is friendly, helpful, and always hungering for a tale of high adventure.
Meanwhile, one of the patrons turns from his stool at the bar and addresses Typhon. "Ey, Neffi, is that you? It's me, Grau! It's been ages, pal! Let me buy you a drink." Typhon has no idea who Grau or Neffi are. However, he does know that Grau is drunk, unshaven, and wearing a guard's uniform that looks like it hasn't been changed in weeks. At Grau's hail, the bartender puts a mug of ale on the counter for Typhon.

Bosch Glasthane |

"Ma'am, we need rooms for these little ones. I don't have much on me but I'm sure they won't mind sharing quarters if need be. I don't know how long we will need the rooms either. Food, they'll need food too I expect," in the space of the journey over Bosch has turned from gruff to doting remarkably quickly. He sets Bee down for the moment to deal with the innkeeper.

Corwin Avelard |

Corwin sweeps into the inn at the end of the small herd of children, sweeping them before him like sheep before a sheepdog, holding on to Wren's hand all the while.
"Well child, it appears that we have your answer as to the bells. It looks like we are in for some interesting times. Typically whenever there is a transfer of power, there is a bit of shaking out to do as everyone figures out what the new rule will bring.", he lectures as he walks into the inn.
"Theandra my dear! A pleasure to see you. It has been a while has it, several months in fact, so yes, I do have a story to tell you." he says, squeezing Wren's hand.
"The children are my charges. I plan on ensuring their well being while we search for their parents or guardians. Children, why don't you introduce yourself to Madame Mulsk. As Bosch has said, a room and board for the children is all we need for the moment. We will get their names in the morning, and begin the search. For now however, bed is all they need."

Corwin Avelard |

50gp will last 20 children about 13 days at a 2sp a day rate. We need someone to haggle a bit...and we need to find most of these kids parents.

DM medlii |
The Fainting Peacock
Excellent, I look forward to catching up with you." Theandra smiles at Corwin and Bosch. "I've got four rooms tonight for all of you, should be able to fit maybe six or eight in a room." She thinks for a minute. "If your search doesn't pan out, there's always the Pillar Hill Orphanage in Midtown. It isn't an easy life for a kid, pretty strict and regimented, but it's better than the streets. Most of the kids from Pillar Hill join the Guard, Sable Company, or Hellknights once they're of age."
Theandra begins serving up bowls of soup for her visitors. The children eagerly slurp down the soup. As they finish, several of the younger ones begin dozing off where they sit at the tables - it has been quite a busy night.
You are welcome to try some diplomacy, but if you plan on leaving the kids in the inn unsupervised, that will make it much tougher.

Bandru Varz |

Bandru wqlks in last and hears the conversation with the Inn keeper. He slowly walks up to her and lays down his adamantine arrow.
Good Innkeeper the arrow is easily worth sixty gold. It can easily be sold for thirty gold. I give it to you as collateral for taking care of the children while we get things settled and give you proper pqyment.
Bandru will stand there and await a reply

Tessa Alee |

"I kin chip in for the kiddies too" Tessa says, jiggling the bag of swag taken from Lamm's place. "Helpin' out others that Lamm hurt is the best revenge. We gotta make sure they stay off the streets - it sounds nasty out there right now and these poor kids need some time to get their heads straight after what they've been through."
Tessa pulls out the gold bar (100g) from her share of the loot from Lamms's place and pushes it across the bar to the innkeep.
"Miss, these kids have all been nabbed from their homes or picked off the streets to do the foul work of chum-pressing, held captive by wicked criminals. This is for you, my personal thanks for puttin' them up while we look for homes for them. There's much more where that came from if they cause you any trouble."

Theandra
"That's horrible!" Theandra exclaims as you relate the story of the children's past. "They are welcome to stay here for a bit, the money isn't an issue... It's jus that once they aren't asleep, they'll be a bit of a handful if you're plannin on leaving them here while you are out and about."
Theandra looks at the exhausted children and sighs. "If it comes down to it, one or two of em can work for me. I could use a bit more help around the inn... Just let me know when you're ready to head up to your rooms."
Grau
The inebriated Grau is more than happy to share news (and his life's story), with Typhon, and two children who come to listen. "Welp, rumor has it old King Eodred's been sick for awhile now, but he finally kicked the bucket. Maybe somebody poisoned him. Maybe he w's just old. Was over seventy, you know... Everyone says the Throne is cursed. Eodred was a good man!" He hiccups, slams his mug on the counter, and says "Rest in peace, old friend..."
Grau's tone abruptly changes. "But the city's doomed now! Riots in the streets. Looting. Fires. It'll all start soon." Grau puts his head in his hands. "Oh Neffi, Sabina wouldn't have me and I got kicked out of my apprenticeship with Osirini, and now my hometown's gonna burn to the ground!" The drunk sobs into his ale. "There's nothing left for me," he moans.
Throughout the conversation, Grau buys Typhon as many beers as he can drink and several for himself, slopping beer over his already filthy guard uniform. Ty also notices a tarnished badge of rank on Grau's uniform.

Bandru overhearin Grau's remorse decides to approach the man.
maybe a change of sorts would help you. We seem to be in need of a guard for the children. Not exactly great work but I am sure we can pay you well if you would like.

Bosch Glasthane |

Bosch notices Typhon and Bandru talking to the drunk and wanders over as well long enough to hear Bandru's offer.
"Indeed, there are other matters we need to attend to, as much as I would like to guard the children. We can work out a fair wage for you, put you up in this Inn for now and if you perform admirably then I might have a place at my forge for you. Just... no more ale for now," Bosch says, gently but insistently scooting the drunk guard's mug out of his grasp.
"How about it? Are you a man of honor, sir? Your uniform would suggest as much."

Corwin Avelard |

Corwin moves over, his disappointment in the drunk guard's state evident on his face.
"I don't like the feel of the town tonight. I don't remember it ever being this unsettled at any time in my memory, and since I have been a citizen for my entire life...that is saying something."
"If we are going to do anything tonight, I suggest we move quickly. I want to get back to that fortuneteller's place and see what we can discern. Then, back here to protect the children."
"Thoughts? Comments?"

Typhon B'Ru |

Gad this guys a mess. Not sure he SHOULD be trusted to watch the children, but then who am I to judge. Scavanger, river rat, thief and once upon a time Lamm's lamb.
Ty only dirnks a couple of the mugs, he's not much for things that dull his senses. Too many nights spent out in the open dodging real and imaginary assassins. And the guards.
"Well Grau old friend, we could definately use the help with the children. But if not, its been great catching up with you. Right now I got somethin I need to take care of. May the Dreamer smile on you."
So saying he rise and walk over to Tessa and Corwin.
"I agree, we should go check out Zellara's right away. I'm not convinced shat she didnt have a twin or something. I guess it could have been illusion magic or the like, but you two would know far more about that than I. Seemed awful sincere in her desire for Justice or revenge tho, might HAVE been a ghost."
Saying that last bit he visibly shudders.

DM medlii |
Sorry for the slow posting guys... let's get several things going at once here since there isn't any combat and you guys have been pretty clear about what you'd like to do. Again, feel free to discuss/role play any of the scenes as you see fit.
The Fainting Peacock
"A man of honor?" Grau stands up unsteadily to shake Bosch's hand. "You're right sir, a man like me shouldn't be crying in his ale while his city burns. What an ass I've made of myself. I can guard the kids. Heck, I'm a guardsman myself, a sergeant. There's nothing I do better. Tell you what. You look like busy people. I'll keep an eye on them for the night here at the inn and take them back to Citadel Volshenyk in the morning. See what I can do about finding their parents or relatives to take them in. Though if you'd like to stop by and lend a hand, tomorrow, it certainly would be appreciated." Grau smiles, standing up a bit straighter. "And keep your money."
Citadel Volshenyk is the headquarters of the Korvosa Guard
What do you plan to do with Bee and Wren at this point? Will they stay with Grau?
Corwin recognizes Grau as a well-liked Sergeant of the Korvosan Guard.
Korvosa's Streets
In the hour or so that you spent in The Fainting Peacock, Korvosa's streets have changed for the worse. It seems that Grau's predictions were not, in fact, completely idle speculation. As you make your way to Zellara's home, you can hear a herald shouting "The king is dead! Long live the queen!" only to be cut short by cries of "Hang the queen!" and "The Usurper whore must die!"
As you pass through a market square, you see a prophet prostelytizing on the street corner. He turns to Tessa. “The Eye of Groetus has turned from the Boneyard to look upon Korvosa!” The wild-haired and sick-looking old man continues as you pass, fixated on Tessa. "Little one, you appeared to me in a dream! Your death nears during this time of great sickness and peril! Korvosa's darkest hour ushers in a new age of writhing DOOM!"
Zellara's Home
You arrive at Zellara's home, but it is not as you remembered it from just a few hours earlier. Now the fortune teller's home is abandoned, looking as if it had been empty for weeks. No sign of food, the wall hangings, or the colorful rugs, can be found. The furniture is in pieces scattered throughout the room.
As you inspect the room, Zellara appears as if from nowhere, holding the deck of Harrow cards that had been in Bosch's pocket. "My friends, I'm sorry I had to deceive you. As you may have guessed, I am but a ghost. What I told you earlier was true, but not the whole truth. Gaedren Lamm did kill my son. I spent long years trying to find him, using my Harrow cards. When I did find Gaedren, I cursed him, spat on him. And he killed me. But I wanted revenge. So I used my Harrow deck to get it."
Zellara nods at Corwin. "Mr. Avelard, that is why I had to use such unconventional means to contact you. You have done a great service to the city and its lost children by killing Gaedren Lamm. But my spirit is not at rest yet. I can sense great danger ahead for Korvosa. I will help in whatever small ways I can. My powers allow me to identify any item you touch to my Harrow deck. And once per day, I can speak to you as I am now, to answer questions of the city, or perhaps look into the future for you. Just as a ghost might haunt its home, I haunt my beloved Harrow deck."

Bosch Glasthane |

The Fainting Peacock
"Good man," Bosch says, grasping the sergeant's hand, "Hats may change hands but that should never change a man's duty. I'm entrusting my daughter to your care as well. Things are not safe right now. Also..." Bosch pulls Hooks over, "I'm sure this gnome has plenty to tell you, don't let him out of your sight."
Korvosa's Streets
"And the corpse of Aroden dances in my bed-pan!" Bosch replies to the doomsayer, stepping between him and Tessa in case things got out of hand.
"Ignore the doomsayers Ms. Alee, they feed off the fear during times of change."
Zellara's Home
"Ms. Zellara, all I wanted was to get my daughter back and live out my life quietly working my forge but if what you say is true, I might not have that luxury. I'm sure we'll need your help in the following days."

Corwin Avelard |

Corwin nods his acceptance of the guard's words. "Grau, I had heard that you were a good man. It is nice to see that the rumors fall short."
Corwin then kneels down before Wren. "Wren, I need you to stay here and keep charge of the littles for a bit longer. There is something strange going on and my friends and I need to see what it is. I expect to be back in a few hours, certainly before dawn." he gives her a quick hug before heading back out onto the street.
-//-
"Ah, Zellara. I am so sorry for your loss. I will do what I can to help ensure your peaceful passage to the next world."
With a wry grin, Corwin continues, "And thank you for explaining how you got the card into my spellbook. I was certain I was going a bit mad...or senile."
"I will be certain to safeguard your cards. I don't want you to worry about losing them again. In fact, once we get established, we can find a way to protect them to ensure that they are not stolen or damaged...perhaps a small stone box...hmmmm" Corwin tails off, obviously already ruminating on the possible permutations.
After a moment, he comes back to himself. "Well I for one wish to return to my daughter. I just got her back and I am not interested in losing her once more. Shall we proceed?"

Bandru Varz |

A soul in anguish is a thing that must be helped. I am glad I had some part in you getting your and our justice. You hqve spoken of more dangers are you able to tell us what these are and how we are to confront them?
Bandru approaches the spirit without fear to twlk more closely.

Typhon B'Ru |

The Fainting Peacock
"Good man Grau!" Says Typhon as he heads outside, quickly drawing, spinning his daggers around and resheathing them, all with a wink at the kids.
Korvosa's streets
He will approach the loadmouth and stare hard at him for a moment before stating just loud enough to be heard." Leave my friends outta your sick dreams old freak. Or the only Doom being pronounced will be yours."
Zellara's Home
"Z-Zellara I too wanted revenge on Lamm. No convincing was necessary, just needed pointing in the right direction. Now my friend can rest in peace, even though you cannot.I will do what I can to grant your rest."
Typhon is visibly shaken and tho sounds sincere, doesnt approach too closely to Zellara or the Harrow deck.

Tessa Alee |

Korvosa's Streets
"Go tickle a Hellknight, you creep," Tessa responds. "My destiny is my own to make". She gives an appreciative glance to Bosch.
Zellara's Home
Tessa listens sadly to Zellara's tale. "Well miss, any idea what's going on out there right now? Seems to be a bit of a dust-up over the Queen and King and we're carrying a rather hot bit of crown jewelry on us right now. We gotta look sharp to miss the rope!"

DM medlii |
The Fainting Peacock
As you leave the Fainting Peacock, Grau is rounding up the kids and leading them to their room for the night. He seems to be stern, but gentle with them, brooking no nonsense as they demand to go outside, to stay up all night, and anything else that would mean not going to bed. "Good luck on your errands," Grau says, herding the children up the stairs.
Korvosa's Streets
Bosch blocks the doomsayer as the party passes through the streets. Looking for easier targets, the old man turns to shower other passer-bys with inane prophecy and spittle.
Zellara's Home
Zellara shuffles her Harrow cards. "Bandru, the cards tell me that the unrest and violence you have seen in the streets thus far is only the start of bad times. The death of a monarch is never a happy occassion, and Queen Ileosa is not well-liked among Korvosans. She must tread carefully in her new role to quell the chaos you see spreading throughout the city."
"But time and again, I have drawn The Keep. It seems that someone, or perhaps a group of someones" she continues, glancing at each of you in turn, "will stand firm through great hardship. This is a time for heroes to defend their city during these troubled times."
Looking at Tessa, Zellara smiles. "How fortuitous, Miss Alee. What better chance to approach Queen Ileosa herself and see what you can do to help the city, than under the guise of returning stolen property?" Seeing the group's general nervousness about possessing such a potentially dangerous item, Zellara reassures you. "Thieves are common in Korvosa. If you explain how you discovered this item and the great deed you have done in slaying Gaedren Lamm, there should be no reason to fear arrest. Besides, what sort of thieves would return stolen property directly to the owner while asking how they can help her?"

Typhon B'Ru |

" I can see returning the bauble to her, especially seein how if we get caught wih it we're borked. However helpin her isnt really my thing if ya get my drift. She's all about the money and the high life but i've never seen her or her types come down and help feed the poor or round up and care for the forgotten children on the streets. Us river rats get good salvage from the royals and nobles, but only if ya dont get caught. Iffen we can help the commen folk then i can see my way for it. but not for her." Out of breath after his quick rant Ty sits on the floor with his arms on his knees, seemingly accustemed to no furniture.

A heavy hand comes to rest on Typhon's shoulder, "Does anyone here look to care much about politics? No. We're going to try to help through any avenue we can. If that means working with the queen then so be it. We have much to gain by aligning ourselves to wealth and power and if they try to bend us to their will then we can always walk away."

Zellara nods at Bosch's statement. "If you have doubts about working with Queen Ileosa, you could probably work directly with the Korvosan Guard instead. While the Guard does report to the queen, they will certainly be helping the common city folk. The Guard could see to the return of your stolen item as well."
Decision time! It's the middle of the night. It sounds like you'd like to go back to the Fainting Peacock to rest until morning. And then, either go to the Korvosan Guard (Grau would be a good start) and ask how to help, or you can pay a visit to the Queen. Which shall it be?

In my opinion I believe we should go now before the situation gets worse. And further I believe we should work with the queen. This is my thoughts but since we are now some sort of group we should all have an equal say. Majority shall rule. My votes are go now and deal with the queen
Go now 1
Morning 0
Queen 1
Guard 0

"I say we at least pay her majesty a visit if we can to return her bauble and see where she stands on all this noise," Bosch said, moving his hand to Roscoe's head.

Corwin Avelard |

Corwin shrugs as he leans on his staff, his face a bit grey with fatigue after the evening's events.
"I don't know about all of you, but I have about reached the limit of my endurance. I am not as young as I used to be...and frankly, I have my daughter back, so I am not so ready to go rushing back out into the night."
"While I am curious as to how the locket came to be in Lamm's posession, I am quite able to put that aside for the thought of a bit of mulled wine and a bed."

Typhon B'Ru |

"Don't now bout the guard, but i'm pretty sure the royal types won't see us this time of day. As for helpin them to help the poor, I-I guess that could work. Not gonna trust them tho.
Course the guard prolly wont trust me none too much either.
"I think i'm sayin we should maybe do both. Talk to the queen to get the monkey off our backs, so to speak, and see if we can help the guard. Maybe not tonight, it seems some of us are worn out."

Tessa Alee |

"I'm for seeing the queen first off. If she won't give us the time of day then we just hand over the brooch and mosey on out. I ain't keeping crown property, we may as well get in good with her by returning it personally. Then, if she doesn't know what we kin do we kin go to the guards."[b] Tessa yawns. [b]"But I vote we get some shut eye first. I wanna be fresh in case of trouble."

The Fainting Peacock
You return to the Fainting Peacock after visiting Zellara's home. Theandra has gone to bed, but the bouncer is still awake. The burly man gives you your room keys and goes back to standing watch over the common room.
...
In the morning, when you return to the inn's common room, you find Grau having breakfast with the children. He is keeping them entertained with stories of his time in the Guard while they eat. The common room is much busier than it was last night. It seems that the inn is well-known for its breakfast offerings of Varisian sweetbreads and Gebbite cream-filled pastries.
Korvosa's Streets
As you get close to Castle Korvosa, you come across a riot. Six men wielding shovels, chair legs, and lengths of iron pipe surround a beardless young nobleman. One of the laborers, a fat bald man with greasy mutton chops framing his rotund face, jeers and addresses the young man in a booming voice, "Bet'chanever worked an honest day in your life, eh, Queen's Man? M'brother had his arm crushed by a barrel on the docks when he was younger than you. Never raised a mug of ale with that wrist again. Wanna know what it feels like?"
Castle Korvosa
Castle Korvosa’s long shadow looms over the city. A magnificent achievement of architecture, the castle walls and spires rise high into the sky above. The entire structure looms even higher for its ancient foundation—a Thassilonian ruin in the shape of an immense flat-topped pyramid. Although one corner of this impressive foundation has fallen into ruin, the additions built onto the sides by eager and talented Korvosan masons have created one of the most recognizable landmarks in all of Varisia.
In these frantic times, the Castle itself has been locked tight and bristles with pikes and crossbows. Five guards approach as you reach the castle gate. "State your business," one demands gruffly.

Korvosa's Streets
"So that's how you treat him?" Bosch said loudly enough to all to hear but retaining his characteristic calm. "You maim him so he never can work an honest day's labour. How does that change anything?"
Now that he has their attention, Bosch mutters something to Roscoe and the dog makes a sound approximating a human grumbling and sits at his master's side.
Castle Korvosa
"We found a piece of the Queen's property and have come to see it returned to her."
