Kieran shakes his head as he comes to-Thanks Kentaur. I'm glad we weren't facing trolls! Hope these cowardly curs appreciate Quinray's sacrifice. He looks menacingly at the manacled humans under the table before searching the room for anything of use.

I suppose the histories never properly record all the names of the fallen it takes to build a kingdom...
Tirnel stands over Quinray's fallen form. I suppose you will need to found another city Ibram. Hopefully your kingdom will not grow overly populous...
I hate to say it, but we may need to rest. All but the most minor of my magics are spent for the day and everyone looks quite weary.

Room description from previous post:
Six large ogres who were sitting at a table eating look over to the door to see who dares disturb their meal. Four disheveled humans in leg irons are acting as servers.
The room is about 40' across and about 60' wide (ceiling is about 40'high). There is a large table about 20' from the door where the ogres are standing up from their meal. The humans are standing around the table as well. There are two doors along the wall at the far side of the room.

Bah! I hate the sound of old whimpering women. It's one of the reasons I joined up! Look at them clutching at one another. Pathetic!
Stop your crying crones. What can you tell us about the rest of this lair of death?
Tirnel Stargazer |
In theory there should be 4 victims remaining after all of Kentaur's pulsing. He did not indicate he was excluding the one that Quinray shot by mistake.
Tirnel keeps up his search of the room from post above.
Ibram Gauntt |
"Tirnel, I know Quinray would want some elvish words for his passing. For the human side, I drink to your honor and courage sir. We'll keep a spot at the table for you. It was a pleasure to know you."
Ibram takes a drink and passes the flask.

Tirnel ignores the offered flask.

Buck up Tirnel, you can rest when you're dead. Let's free the captives and then see what is behind door number two.
Kieran opens the door to the captives.
Kieran Strongarm |
His heart a little softened by seeing so many anguished faces-Time to leave folks. King Ibram has come to save you from whatever fate these ogres had in store for you. We have the next room to clear and then we will escort you back to the safety of his lands. If things go ill for us, run for your lives.
Kieran strikes the captives chains and open the remaining door.

I'm not gonna lie. When my eyes saw the 6 ogres I just thought to myself 'Mother-fer'....
Kieran conducts a brief search of the rest of the room before opening the chest.

Everyone else stay back, especially you Ibram. No point us all dying from some trap.

Kieran opens the large chest, standing inside is a three foot tall bestial humanoid in filthy, tattered robes. It has blue-gray skin decorated with strange, coiling stripes. Dark fur grows on its head and arms, and its feet end in burning hooves. Its eyes glow as red as the flaming sword it wields in one hand, and it let’s out a breath that fills the room with noxious gray smoke.

Thanks Kentaur. Hopefully that was the last critter we'll face down here until we rest.
Kieran Strongarm |
That's a nice haul. Best we see if we can find some provisions for those we freed, set a watch and rest, and head back to Milo in the morning. Of course unless you think differently Ibram.
Kieran Strongarm |
Kieran offers a rare smile-You don't make sergeant if you can stand in the teeth of a rush of Numerian barbarians Ibram; someone's got to hold the line while everyone else is busy wetting themselves.
He moves to the next room-All right you lot, follow me up. We won't be camping under the stars tonight but we will be somewhere safe until we can get you back to more civilized lands and get you sorted out. King Ibram here will make sure you land on your feet and find you a home in Gran March if you weren't already citizens.
Kieran takes the group to the first entrance area and makes a fire, guiding the more able bodied to fetch water and bedding for the night. He also tries to forage/hunt to supplement the food the party brought with them.
survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Later to Ibram-Not sure if we should send someone back to bring a wagon with supplies to meet us half way. This is a large group for us to have to guide, protect, and supply and we came here to liberate but maybe not so much to rescue. Guess I didn't expect to find this many live mouths to take back with us.
Kieran Strongarm |
Never mind. Clearly Kieran's survival role means he hunted a slayed an Albertson's store and brought it back to camp.
