Suspiciously-Isn't the maiden of the stories supposed to be in the dragon's lair or eaten? Seems a little off that this alleged fair maid would be dallying in the nearby woods. More like an ambush of some sort by a late arriving ally of the dead wyrm. I've seen Numerians pull stunts like this before.

Tirnel conjures more fire which is just enough to finish the talkative beast which goes down with a few last words. "But I was promised..."

Both gnolls are damaged and decide to try to live another day. They turn and run!

Frustrated at being ambushed and not wanting to leave any foes alive to further pester the party, Kieran fires a pair of arrows at the gnoll that was fighting him:

Kieran moves towards Ibram and Kentaur-You two OK? That was a heck of a go. A few more gnolls and we would have been in the pot for sure! We should see if we can rest up in the dragon's lair before heading back to Milo. I'd hate to run into anything else in our state.

"Thank you for coming Ibram. I was sorry to hear about Quinray, the kingdom will miss him. But for Vret's bravery, Oleg and I would be gone too. An old woman brought word of the dragon, she returned a couple days later with a group of gnolls and tried to kill Oleg and I. Vret and Oleg killed half a dozen gnolls and then she fled. She was directing them and casting spells to support them. Vret was able to follow her for a while, she fled to the east into the fen."

Well I suppose we are getting wet then. Kieran mutters dolefully.
