The woman's steps pause in response to the bumping clatter below and following a stream of choice Chellish obscenities, she bellows,
"Orcs! Front and center! Now!" After a beat she adds, "What are you waiting for? If you've killed any of my slaves, I'll flay your filthy green hides!" Her clomping boot-heels move aft, toward the entrance to the lower decks, but still she waits on the top deck.

High time for some initiative, I think! ^_~

Thanks bluedove! Do the stairs counts as difficult terrain? If not, I should be able to reach the top deck.

"Let's give them a chance to surrender. Otherwise, I'm not holding back in another fight."

Dietrich moves to the top deck and takes a look at the people he finds there. His axe is out, and as he speaks he readies an action to strike as soon as one of the people moves into range.

"You there! State your business. If you're behind these kidnappings surrender to us at once!"

Ok, I have been shown the rules. Yes at this distance with no closed doors, they would be almost certain to hear me casting a spell. So no, I won't cast it.

By the light of Dietrich's wayfinder, they see a muscular, dark haired woman in half-plate armor and holding a heavy flail. The man seems unarmed at first glance, but as the light reveals his dulled eyes and waxy complexion, you fear to wonder why.

His deathly pallor and dead eyes give him away. This man's life left him some time ago, though his will now bends to another in undeath. He is a Zombie, and a disconcertingly fast one at that.

Deitrich gasps from the wounds the zombie left on him. Still, he grits his teeth and swings his axe as he calls out:

Selter generally prefers to wait in ambush, but doesn't want to miss the prey. So he joins the general rush onto the upper deck to try and capture a kidnapper. He rushes by the unliving humanoid to try and capture the female mammal for information.

You will not escape!

Well I didn't have quite enough movement to get ot the point of threatening her. But she can't get past me to the gangplank without at least generating an AoO. Sithis had to stop next to the zombie.

The arrow shows the path you must follow to make it up the stairs, though it is possible to reach up and grab the deck(acrobatics check for Odo) and pull yourself up, you can do so with a move action and a DC 15 Climb check to reach the square I placed a red "X" over.
Slam AOO on Tanselle: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Tanselle rushes past her comrades and the Zombie, drawing a well aimed swing from the things heavy arm as she sprints past to take up position.
Brak follows behind her, capitalizing on the things slowed reflexes as Marla casts Guidance on Selter.

Dietrich delivers a powerful blow with his axe, burying the blade deeply in the things chest.
Gaius takes a shot with his crossbow and just misses, trying to be sure not to hit Dietrich.

The woman retreats from the onslaught of Pathfinders through the door to the Captain's Quarters and raises her left hand to her lips, kissing a large milky opal that has been shaped like a skull.
"Groetus, I am your vessel. Give me the power to lay them ALL low!"
A wave of dark energy sweeps out from her in all directions, as it rolls over the Pathfinders a chilling pain radiates through their bodies, like a taste of the grave. Tanselle and Dietrich are overcome and fall unconscious.

The Zombie looks for another target with Dietrich down and flails at Brak, but blows whiff the air and bounce off harmlessly.

"No! Tresca gasps as she watches both Tanselle and Deitrich go down. This wasn't good, they needed to end this quickly. Running up the stairs, the alchemist hopes she can make it to Tanselle's side without attracting too much attention from the zombie. The best thing she could do right now would be to take their enemies out quickly, but if Tanselle started to look as though she was in any serious danger, she wanted to be on hand to stabilize the woman.

Move action: Move 30 ft (moves through squares threatened by Zombie)

Standard action depends on zombie's AOO

If Tresca took 5 or less from the zombie:
Standard action: Fire crossbow at woman (point blank shot adds +1 to attack and damage rolls)
crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 171d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

If Tresca took more than 6 from the zombie:
She quaffs her extract of Cure Light Wounds (unfortunately, only the Alchemist can be affected by their own extracts, or I'd be using it on one of the unconscious people)
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

EDIT:
Crap, I just realized as soon as I posted this that I forgot to account for Tresca taking damage from the woman's spell - I had planned as though she was at full health. Is it possible to change my actions to quaffing the extract, then moving? I didn't want to just assume I could, since I've already seen how the dice turned out.

That retcon is fine with me. Personally, I preview my rolls before I post them and then write my actions accordingly. I don't mind if players do as well.

That is what I figured you would have Brak do. glad I waited.

Selter attempts to push through the doorway to get in the room with the woman.

overrun:
Overrun

As a standard action, taken during your move or as part of a charge, you can attempt to overrun your target, moving through its square. You can only overrun an opponent who is no more than one size category larger than you. If you do not have the Improved Overrun feat, or a similar ability, initiating an overrun provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver. If your overrun attempt fails, you stop in the space directly in front of the opponent, or the nearest open space in front of the creature if there are other creatures occupying that space.

When you attempt to overrun a target, it can choose to avoid you, allowing you to pass through its square without requiring an attack. If your target does not avoid you, make a combat maneuver check as normal. If your maneuver is successful, you move through the target's space. If your attack exceeds your opponent's CMD by 5 or more, you move through the target's space and the target is knocked prone. If the target has more than two legs, add +2 to the DC of the combat maneuver attack roll for each additional leg it has.

I think this is legal. Can move through (but not charge through) a square occupied by an ally. So move through Brak's square. Overrun the woman. If she has a weapon out to threaten, she gets an attack of opportunity.

If she chooses to avoid me:
She gets the attack of opportunity and I end up behind her inside the cabin.

If she chooses to try and block me:
She gets the attack of opportunity against me. I attempt to overrun (+1 for Marla's guidance).
overrun: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 1 = 9 And I craptastically fail the check and get bumped back behind Brak.

I guess that depends on whether the burst of Channel energy is disc shaped or sphere shaped. I guess I had gone with sphere shaped, and extending beneath her as well, but I could easily be wrong.

The sturdy looking, heavily armored woman dodges the dwarf's axe and sinks into her stance, hefting her heavy flail as Selter moves toward her. She swings as he tries to overrun her but only strikes the doorjamb. Still, she holds him back from crossing her doorway.

I had best make this as likely as possible.

Seeing that no one is in immediate danger of bleeding to death, Selter begins an incantation...

Odo makes use of Marla's guidance to lead his attack on the priestess.

We can't let her die. At least not until we find out where the rest of the captives are. So I guess I better save her life.

Selter immediately uses some of Nalinivati's power to keep the woman from dying. Then he securely ties her up and drags her below decks away from prying eyes.

Use the stabilize spell.

Tresca takes a moment to search the fallen woman, finding the potion of Cure Light Wounds. Holding it up for her comrades to see, she gives it a slight shake. "Healing potion" she remarks, "One of you front line fighters want to hold on to this for later?"

Judging that they had a bit of time to spare, Tresca retrieves her backpack and heads to the middle deck to be on hand when they question the woman. While she waits for her companions to revive their captive, she takes the spare moment to mix herself a healing extract, just in case, and slips it into her empty wrist sheath.
