Skiron gives the glabrezu a friendly smile. "Well, that was fun."
He turns to the party.
"Shall we?"

Ta'ruk |

Ta'ruk watches as Skiron floats back to the ground. As Skiron seems unfazed by the demon's demand for fealty, he decides to move ahead. First, he casts mage armor on himself before entering wasteland ahead. Then he walks past the glabrezu and continues after Ravens.

Simon Demarkus |

"We're not done with him yet."

Are we still in initiative? If not then I'm about to piss him off. If we are then I'll wait until the next round.

Right now, I would say we are not in initiative, we are more at an impasse. The fiend clearly does not want to fight 5 people. He knows you are all evil and is counting on the fact that you will behave like evil people

Simon Demarkus |

"Clearly you realize we have the upper hand and we need that one as yet.*Pointing* Your options are as follows: 1) Piss off. 2) Keep it up and be massacred. Your choice. "
I was thinking of something else, but this'll do.

Jeneva - Callous Duskglow |

Jeneva's mandibles click irritably as she speaks, weapon still held ready. "He is ours first. Are you to challenge our claim? Would you make enemies yet more, when another foe awaits you beyond these gates? Hunt elsewhere - this world is full of prey. You have nothing to gain and," she pauses, swinging the curved sword up to point directly at the fiend, "MUCH to lose to pursue this folly. Stand aside."

The white-green glows of her eyes blaze as she locks gazes with the glabrezu, unwavering, waiting for its response.

I'm gonna call that two rounds of rage gone, fair?
As the fiend's prison seals itself, the dancer nods once to herself and sheathes her blade, then allows herself to remove the mask, slipping once more into her more natural persona. With a glimmer of emerald and ember light, her armor and wings disintegrate, blowing off her skin like pollen in a gale, evaporating into nothingness mere meters from her body and winking out of the light. She takes a few moments to brush her hair back away from her face with one hand, though not bothering to reapply the complex braids she'd begun the day with, then strides over to the fallen mage and lifts him to her shoulder, as she had done with Ravens less than a day before, until the fiend's magic runs its course and he can join them under his own power once more.
With him in hand, without another word she begins striding toward the pillars and into Acercerak's domain.

Ravens the Birdmaster |

Ravens smirks at Jeneva's yelling controlled-tonal-leveragings as he would have left the meatblob behind.
Ravens continues on, not looking back at the flesh Glabrzicle.
If he feared us, he should have fought us...in dying to us, he would have earned his freedom.
Edit: Edited 'yelling'.

DMTFY |

An ugly hill sprawls in the distance, the south side of the hill is decorated with more of the flesh colored pillars positioned to form the shape of a skull. The north side of the hill has crumbled, forming a cliff of loose gravel and sand against a stone ledge. There are no signs of life around this wasted hummock and an aura of creeping doom hangs about it. This is definitely the place.
Ok kids, Anyone else want to cut open a flesh pillar?
EDIT: Yeah that's fine Jeneva

"I do not recall any injury. Did you fall and bump your head?"
I think I missed your damage. Where did it happen?
I'm not hurt, but perhaps I'm confused. Who is Jeneva carrying?

![]() |

"I do not believe he is injured, but it does not appear he can move until the fiend's magic fades," she explains, not stopping. "Carrying him avoids further delay."

![]() |

Skiron stirs.
"Rub grass? On this suit? I should say not!"
He hops out of Jeneva's arms, muttering about "filthy, filthy grass". The great black mass behind them begins to follow.
My pudding will remain with us for the next 8 minutes or so, in case that turns out to matter.

"Welcome back to the world of the mobile," she comments as he wriggles free of her grip.
With him up and about again, she turns her gaze on the terrain ahead, looking for anything that resembles an access into their target's demesne.

Skiron points toward the north side of the hill.
"Look! Something unnatural's been at work over there...!"

Ta'ruk |

Ta'ruk follows along taking care to give the fleshy obelisks a wide berth. He crests the hill just as Skiron points to the north side of the hill.

Having no better leads, Jeneva makes to investigate the area Skiron has alerted them to, one hand on her blade in case of further hostilities from the native flora or fauna.

Ravens the Birdmaster |

Ravens walks up the hill, following Simon.
He keeps his eyes out, wits alert, trying to stay alive.

Jeneva heads toward the north side of the hill, following the occultist's direction, scanning the area again for whatever Skiron managed to spot. Her step is slow and careful, wary of further traps or ambushes.
Perception, Take Two: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28

DMTFY |

Sorry if this is causing any confusion,I realize this is a bit tricky without a map, But I promise I have one 8>). Basically this is the side of a hill that has been previously excavated on ...well the whole side of the hill. Just give me an idea of how you are searching? are you using tools?

![]() |

At the moment Jeneva is merely using visual searching methods. If she sees - or feels, if something moves beneath her feet - something out of the ordinary, she may begin pursuing alternate methods.

Simon Demarkus |

Simon searches the hill for anything out of the ordinary that may indicate an entrance.

Ta'ruk |

Ta'ruk goes to the edge carefully and checks the footing to see if the fallen edge can support them climbing down. does the side fall off like a cliff? Or is there enough slope to support a person climbing down upright?

DMTFY |

Ta'ruk: The footing is a bit treacherous, but you can make your way down, the ground is soft, sandy and loose.
Simon: As you cast detect magic, you are practically blinded by the sheer amount of magic in the area Remember this area is an intersection of various planes and demi-planes.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Simon rubs his eyes and blinks a few times. Obviously regretful of trying that.
I've really got nothing else that might help. Though I'm not really sure what is needed. The next thing I'm going to do is start digging up the hillside. For lack of any better idea.

Ravens the Birdmaster |

Ravens begins a slow and thorough search of the area, starting with the meatpillars and circling around until he finds things. He will slowly go wider and wider in his search as he walks, slowly expanding his radius.
If we do not know what we are looking for, at least we can be smart about how we look for it.

Curious, the dancer kneels in the sand, watching the soft soil run through her fingers. "Somewhere beneath, then?" she muses, and draws her blade once again. She begins plunging the long sword into the soil, searching for any solid objects underneath out of sight.

DMTFY |

Well That will work also, but I was thinking about your staff
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Jeneva: After probing around with your sword for the most part your sword is going maybe 1' into the ground before it stops...However you probe 1 particular spot it sinks all the way in. You will determine that it will take a couple of turns to clear and entrance point large enough to crawl through. If you wish to make a larger egress it will take hours to dig as the dirt is intertwined with petrified roots from some ancient forest.

Simon Demarkus |

Simon digs in the ground with a pointy stick he finds nearby. This activity lasts for about three minutes.
Then he says flatly.
"F**k this."
He looks for some kind of depression in the ground. It's completely guesswork, but he'll try to be smart about this.
He points at the ground about 10 feet away and well clear of any companions.

DMTFY, I dont really know how you want to play this, but basically my goal is to leave a crater and move a bunch of dirt.

"Here. There is a breach beneath." If she can catch Simon before he loses his temper she'll direct him to throw the spell at the spot where she found the opening.
If Simon hears Jeneva (or anyone) indicate they found something he'll change the target of his spell appropriately.

Ravens the Birdmaster |

Ravens circles around back to the party as the location might be found. He stands on a rock. Ravens keeps an eye out for predators/foes while others work to clear the dirt and rocks.
If I had wanted to pound stone, I would have stayed in the prison.

Simon: Why don't we say it takes 2 castings of that spell to open a hole large enough for the party to crawl through i.e. 1 casting saves you all a turn of digging.
It is at this point that I need to point out a few important things about the tomb.
1.Perception: I need you all to be very specific about what you are looking at i.e. I am examining the floor 10' in front of me, I am looking at drawing 4 of 6 on the wall.
2. Every square is 10' as opposed to 5'
3. I need to know the path you take when you move, I believe you can leave dots on the squares you take by using that icon in the toolbar that looks like a comb.
4. I have revealed a 10' section can you all see it.
5. We will be slowing down dramatically here, as it will be imperative that everyone gets a chance to post.
Any questions? If not buckle up for a ride you will not forget.

Simon Demarkus |

After the first spell makes a dent in the earth Simon realizes he's made progress, but not enough.
With a mad gleam in his eyes he casts the spell again. Dirt and sand get flung into the air to cover a decent area around the hole. This includes the area Simon is standing.
Moments later the dust settles and Simon stands covered in dirt. With a snap of his fingers the dirt begins to roll off of him and onto the ground. A few seconds later his person and clothing are perfectly clean. (Prestidigitation if you hadn't guessed.)
"There."
