Sgt. Drakus looks in askance at the talk of cards as he wolfs down the food.
"Harrow deck? You ain't no old lady to be playing around with fortune telling cards, Princess. Just stick with a sword; you got some talent fer that."

He wasn't here when you got it.

"Ah yes, well this isn't a normal deck of Harrow cards, this deck contains the spirit of Zellara, a woman killed by Gaedren Lamm, seems her spirit was tied to the cards she had used so often in life. Now she communicates with those she wishes to assist."

The little pseudo dragon chooses dinner time as the perfect time to return home after a few days on the wing. It lands near Marra, and points to her plate. "Chiir'p, ta gripp n'chirp"

Codename: "Falcon" Male 'Human' Divine Marksman Urban Ranger 5/Bard 2 (AC: 19 [T: 13 /FF: 16] -1 if using Buckler hand; CMD 20; HP: 58/58; F+5, R+10, W+4 [+1 vs. Mind-affecting]; Init: +4 (+6 in Kintargo); Perc: +14 (+16 in Kintargo) [Low-light vision])

Gregor's interest is piqued by the pseudo-dragon, "Please, noble one, you may take what you wish from my meal. It would be my honor to share with you." Looking at the cards he tries to conceal his slight shudder, "I don't know, I'm with Sgt. Drakus on this. I think possessed by spirits or not, sometimes force of arms is a much more honorable method. Do what you will, though, who am I to suggest otherwise if it may give us a leg up on this epidemic."

she spot the pseudo-dragon and talks to the pseudo dragon
"And who is this cute little fella, you look similar to Asura and Azura who nest in our roof."
she then gives it some of her food, which she added some dragon nip to.

after hearing Donagar's words she joking says
"Yeah, we all know what spirits you prefer, the ones found in bottles."

"Gregor-san, Sometimes one needs a solution from outside the box, and that Harrow Deck maybe the keys to solutions both now and later."

she then finishes the rest of the thought train to herself
"speaking of outside solutions.
That was a weird dream last night, But what was the content."

Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 6

"The little dragon was a captive of a slime, we freed the little bugger and he's been with us ever since."

That explains it.

"Can anyone understand it?"

The dinner lasts for awhile. It's a nice respite, though it feels like the eye of the storm. The city is remarkably quiet as the fog blankets the city, drowning out the coughs of the infected. Then Marra pulls a tattered looking harrow deck from her sash.

Male Human Fighter (Phalanx Soldier) L1 | AC22(T12FF20) CMD16 | hp 16/16 | Saves: F4R1W-1 | Percep -1 | Init: +1 | Status: OK

Sgt. Drakus just rolls his eyes at the superstition, his disbelief clear.

The entire room shimmers, a table with an aged Varisian woman appears, dressed in traditional Varisian garb as if she just stepped out of a vardo. Wall hangings appear on the walls as well transforming the room into the den of a harrow reader.

"Hello again Marra, and greetings to your new allies. I fear the city is in great peril. I shall read the cards for you, give you some insight into those perils."

"In this virulent time, what shat shall give us insight?"

She chooses the 9 shield cards from the deck.

"Strength of body shall persevere in this time"

She looks to Donagar, and places The Mountain Man card "Powers move beyond your control, survive before attempting to move mountains."

Then she looks to Mai, places The Tangled Briar "Ancient deeds will help you, call upon your teaching."

And Marra, The Survivor "You have survived more in your short life than many do in a lifetime. You will have to call upon that strength to survive this ordeal."

She pulls the Desert card for Drakus "Korvosa may seem so bleak that none shall survive without aid, the journey through this landscape can lead to good."

She looks at Nik'o and pulls the Trumpet "The archon wades into the most dire situation without fear for the good."

Then she looks to Gregor and places the Waxworks on table finally. "Helplessness and entropy freeze the blood with horror, break through the horror and persevere."

Do you guys need me to take a photo of the spread to see the cards or are you all familiar with the cards?

Male Human Fighter (Phalanx Soldier) L1 | AC22(T12FF20) CMD16 | hp 16/16 | Saves: F4R1W-1 | Percep -1 | Init: +1 | Status: OK

Sgt. Drakus freezed in his chair, eyes bugged out at the sights.
"Holy crap!"

"What the Heck?, A fortune telling ghost.
I guess this is the solution from outside the box."

she thinks on the ghosts words
"But I feel as if her words are hints are things."

"Survival is tha key to accomplishin nearly any ting."

"Good work spirit."

Nik'o blood turns to fire at the sight. Her fingers start to move in mystical patterns, driven by instinct almost, until she realizes the ghost means no harm. She the recognizes the known fortune-teller and stops for a moment, uncertainty of action conflicting with urgency.

As the ghost makes its reading, she stays silent, wondering what this means for the future and the present.

A bit later: "What should we make of this?"

Gregor looks on, initially in shock, later with the air of skepticism. "Leave it to a 'fortune teller' to give out vague clues. We should be strong, use what has been learned before, there is light ahead, do not fear. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm still inclined to attempt to convince the keepers of the first vault that they should waive any fees for their services." Regardless, he doesn't look at any of them when he speaks, he just continues to stare at the Waxworks card that was pulled for him, eyebrows pursed in scrutiny.

Nik'o listens to Gregor and weighs his suggestion: "Could be. But most wish to wait to see what Kroft will say. Anyway, thanks for the meal and the reading Marra, and Zellara! I'm off to bed. See you in the morning..."

"The archon wades into the most dire situation without fear for the good." Mmm... Perhaps it will become clearer with a good night sleep...

Zellara nods "I exist for the city now, my will is bound to these cards, as long as those who carry me defend the city, I shall assist in their defense. Know that these fortunes are truth, and will assist you in the coming days." Effectively you can re-roll a fortitude save.

"Ancient deeds will help you, call upon your teaching."

What does it mean?

Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 6

The room fades back to normal, and Zellara fades away

"Well, that tells us not as much as I had hoped, but we definitely need to keep our strength up."

you're all feeling weary as the day was stressful, rest definitely sounds like the thing to do. those not staying at the manor, make their way to their own abodes, the night for you is relatively restful, as restful as it can be when the city is worrying about plagues.

Morning comes as a rooster crows, the temperature outdoors is still cool without any breeze, and the morning fog doesn't want to dissipate. Visibility is only 20ft or so. No0t good galloping weather. The mud clogs the streets, but wagon traffic seems to have slowed as well as foot traffic, the city seems eerily quiet...

Impatient at the forced inaction, Sgt. Drakus will occupy his time with the minor repairs to armor that always need doing, and drilling in the courtyard. He will invite Sgt. Ward, Donagar and Marra along also.

Five, Water...which the salt will help keep in.

You go about eating your breakfast, cleaning your gear, mending torn garments, etc, the morning wears on, and no contact as the early morning clouds burn off very quickly, leaving the sun streaming down, feeling like a summer morning...

While waiting for news from the Field Marshall, you hear a knock at the door of the manor, you open it to see an young acolyte from the Grand Vault of Abadar holding a kerchief over his mouth.

"Pardon me, Vaultkeeper Dhatri requests a meeting with you at the temple of Abadar, the situation is growing out of hand and he says you assisted him with the Soldado child."

Gregor takes a cloth and dons a mask over his nose and mouth. "We should make haste to the Temple of Abadar. Not only did I say before that it should be our first step, it has now been requested of us. Sgt Drakus, and Ladies, do you feel well enough to accompany us, or would you prefer to remain and wait for our return?" He asks.

Gathering his things he turns back to the group, "Maybe if we can work with the temple, we can get the sickness out of your bodies before we work further toward helping the community. We would all work better at our best health."

"Regardless, we must get a move on. I realize we often wait for our orders, but in attaining rank in the Guard, we learn to take appropriate action in the absence of orders." He stands firm and formal, proud of his rank and the purpose of the guard as a whole.

Sgt. Drakus bends over with a groan, beads of sweat starting to roll down his forehead.
"Crap. I don't feel so good..."
He looks around for a handy bucket.

With an effort he will stand, still clutching his bucket.
"If ye don't mind stopping now and again, I'm good to go."

If he actually has the Nauseus condition, he's restricted to a single move action per round.
