Enlarge person will be very beneficial to Kel. His bodyguard ability relies on him being adjacent. Bigger adds more room for party members to be next to him.
Glitterdust is one of the best low level spells in the game.
Stone Call is a personal favorite of mine.

Deia has Faerie Fire, which is not that dissimilar from Glitterdust.
Agree about Enlarge Person for the melees, that can be a big help.
If I were Max, I'd focus on blasting and area effect damage spells, something that we tend to be weak in. We just have to be careful about damage types and resistances.
Maximillian Akorius
Thanks for the suggestions! Max has Enlarge Person and will remember to memorize it. Still thinking on the rest.
*Edit* - Took Stone Call and Invisibility. At these low levels, it seems like Stone Call is pretty good blasting and control.

*Edit 2* - Just realized (again) the spellbook has Invisibility, so he is learning Detect Thoughts instead.

Max, just be aware that scribing the spell into your own spellbook still costs money even though the spellbook was loot. So as a level 2 spell Invisibility costs you 40gp to write it in your book. Or, instead of writing it into your book now, you could prepare it from Millorn's spellbook at any time by making the same Spellcraft check(DC 15 + spell level) each time you want to prepare it. But failure to pass the check results in being unable to prepare it for a day.
Just making you aware of your options in case you didn't want to spend the money now(although I can't really see why you wouldn't).
As for when Niles joins in, for now it's going to be when you reach Defender's Heart. That may change, though. I have another idea that I've been thinking of doing, and I'll have to talk it over with Niles before making a decision.

So I guess Kel was designed by Rob Liefeld? Does he have about 100 teeth, tiny diamond shaped feet, and gratuitous amounts of pouches strapped to his body?
The Unruly GM
The second set of shoulders was just too easy of a target. I had to take the opening.
Kel the Guardsman
Actually what he has are vestigial wings that never made it out of his body. The weird extra shoulders are the muscles that would have let him fly, and the lines on his back are the deformed bones and veins just beneath the skin.
The Unruly GM
I kinda figured it was something like that, but I still wanted to poke fun. And besides, any joke that involves Rob Liefeld gets made at his expense.
The Unruly GM
Guys, at least spend the night. The reason I said to renew your spells per day and everything was on the assumption that you were staying the night.
Also, sorry for no posts for about two days, but I've been actually getting my weekends from work these past couple weeks, and with spring comes a whole bunch of new things to do in my "free" time.
The Unruly GM
Ok, so is everyone leveled? Everyone get everything they wanted to do during rest done and over with? Rex, if you're wanting to make some more bullets, go ahead and do so.
Max, there are a few other items that are in need of identification, and you hadn't attempted to identify them when they were found. So I'll roll those now...
Scroll1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Scroll2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Scroll3: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Scroll4: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Scroll5: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Scroll6: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Wand: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
And you've identified everything! Two divine scrolls of Cause Fear, two divine scrolls of Comprehend Languages, a divine scroll of Bear's Endurance, and a divine scroll of Remove Disease. The loot sheet has been updated. Also, I removed the Cause Fear scroll from Deia's section of the loot sheet, since it was consumed when she taught it to her familiar.
Also, rolling Rex's fort save, with Tina's earlier bonus to prevent disease... Bet you thought I forgot!
Rex Fort: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 = 20
Which he passes, and thus is saved from contracting Filth Fever.

                   Deia

             |

As far as I can tell, I think Deia is good to go. Thanks for remembering the loot sheet.
When the morning comes, Deia wakes quietly and spends some time with Astra preparing for the day.

Rex, looking back at the last time you crafted bullets, it looks like you made 40 bullets but only 4 doses of powder, so you should just be lacking the black powder to make use of those extra 36 bullets.
EDIT: Removed a large portion of this, as someone pointed out that I was yet again wrong. Dead wrong.
The Unruly GM
I think it's weird too, but unless I'm doing my math way wrong, the rules say that in 8 hours he'd produce 10,000 bullets or 1000 doses of powder.
I can understand the powder, since it's quite literally mixing 3 different ingredients in proper proportions. Even if you had to crush and grind your powder components from scratch I don't think it would take nearly as long as bullet casting. After all, saltpeter, sulfur, and charcoal are pretty soft materials to work with. But casting lead is a much more intensive process that also requires some semi-strict timing when it comes to breaking open the mold. Otherwise you run the risk of cracks forming in the newly-cast metal or the ball sticking to the mold. Plus you've got to check each ball to make sure that it's at least mostly round and doesn't have any major imperfections, and you've got to remove the leftover flash from where the edges of the mold are. So you're spending at least 15-30 seconds looking over and checking each lead bullet in real life.
But, as they say, realism and RPGs don't mix well.

Ok, third post about the Gunsmithing/bullet crafting/crafting in general!
As someone pointed out to me in the rules section, you base the crafting limit off of what the item costs to buy, not what it costs you to craft yourself. Since bullets cost 1gp each to buy, you're limited to 1000 per day, even though with the Gunsmith feat it only really costs you 100gp to craft that 1000gp worth of bullets. Which puts it well within the realm of reality. For black powder, you could craft 100 doses per day, but it would only cost you 100gp.
So then, to redo what I edited out of my earlier post, and this time get it right for once -
I noticed that in my earlier house rule about bulk crafting I had divided by 24, because for some reason I was thinking that it was based on a crafting day of 24 hours. Which is wrong. It's based on 8 hours, so I should have divided by 8 instead. But, in order to represent the inefficiency of short-term production as opposed to dedicating the full time, I'm going to make it a division of 10 instead.
So the formula goes from (max / cost / 24) to (max / cost / 10). Which means that for bullets, accounting for the correction of cost being equal to purchase price, not crafting price, it would mean that to craft bullets on an hourly basis you could craft 100 bullets in an hour. To craft black powder on an hourly basis, you could craft 10 doses per hour.
I am really, really sorry about the confusion and making changes to the rule twice in one night. But when I went back my math was just way off, and then when I tried to correct it it was still way off because I misunderstood(or rather, forgot) part of the crafting rules. So now it should be right this time.
To simplify, specifically for bullets since that's what the rule is most likely to be used for in this campaign -
Hourly crafting:
100 bullets per hour - costs 10gp with Gunsmithing feat
10 doses of black powder per hour - costs 10gp with Gunsmithing feat.
The Unruly GM
Rex, let me know how many shots you've crafted during the rest period.
Kel the Guardsman
Yes, Kel is becoming a Paladin of Iomedae, eventually. He hasn't sworn to her yet, but I know there will be a chance for that at the end of this arc. He's going to act like a paladin of Iomedae, but he still has it in his head that she would never accept him. I'd like that moment to be something special.
Right now his Paladinhood is coming from the holy energies of the angel trapped inside him.
Rex Kayn
Sorry for the delay, I was at a conference, stupid work!
That's right I did 40 bullets last time! Thanks for reminding me. So yes I only need powder. In that case if I have two hours I'll make 20 doses of powder. Which will put me at 46 bullets/20 powder.
20 Gold to craft.
The Unruly GM
Deia, you may want to revise your action.
Kel, you need to update your HP in the quick reference bit and on your character sheet. You're still showing your maximum as being 23, which is what it was at level 2.

Yes, can I try the slumber on the male caster instead?
concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 88
That should let me avoid the 20% miss chance, I think. Everybody else: pay attention but I will announce it in the gameplay thread if he fails a save.
Kel the Guardsman
You're right!
When we leveled, did the HP increase only effect or max, or was it added to our current values also?
The Unruly GM
Deia, I think I may have been confused because I know their classes, while you don't. So the one by the door would have appeared to have been a caster when he used Darkness. But since you've clarified that you were going for the guy at the door, I'll fix the map and the tracking.
Also, excellent hit, Kel. But don't forget to take off that 3hp from the magic missile you were hit with in round 1.
The Unruly GM
That fight went incredibly quickly. The tieflings couldn't make a save to save their lives.
The Unruly GM
With my next post, or a post that happens closer to noon EST(whichever comes later), the sleeping woman and unconscious man will be waking up. The unconscious man still has a bit of time before he gets back on his feet, since he's still got some stunned and blinded time, but the woman will be able to act as soon as she comes around. The librarian who was being forced to stack books will probably come out of his stunned state around the same time as the tiefling man is able to act again.
Just giving a heads up so you guys can decide what to do with your two prisoners. Anevia is still standing guard over the woman, and she's ready to kill them as an act of war if you give the word.
The Unruly GM
That's his actual image from the AP. I haven't updated Anevia or Horgus with theirs yet. Horgus is actually drastically different, while Anevia's isn't so far off but is cleaner and has a bit softer features, I think.
If you wanted to see them, you can just go to the avatar selection and search for Anevia and Horgus, respectively.
The Unruly GM
I think everyone is situated here and ready to move on, correct?
The Unruly GM
I need you guys to tell me how you want to proceed. Once that's been decided, I can move things along in whichever direction is needed.

I'd tend to agree. There is one orange marker closer but let's see what we find at Horgus' first.
Everybody will be coming with us except for Aravashnial?
