Nossac |
Nossac dives backwards and launches another arrow hoping it strikes true.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
And it whiffs right past the the flies head.
Thomas Vinland |
Then Thomas will attempt to pierce the beast with his Cestus
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
confirm: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3x 2 is 6
And do a rather nice job of it.
I don't want to know what this thing has been eating!
GM Schiffer |
While flies are not the smartest of creatures, this one knows when its been beat. It quickly flies begins to fly away.
Attacks of opportunity if you'd like. either way you each gain 100 XP
Inside the temple a stone bench lines the southern wall. At the far end of the room, a basin of water sits atop a stone pedestal. A stone door engraved with an image of a hammer stands to the north.
Anevia moves over to the bench and sits down, "My leg...it's starting to hurt again. Mind if I rest quickly?"
Horgus: "Of course we mind! Your slowing us down and we're low on supplies!" He turns to the rest of the party, "We should just leave her here, she's no help to us"
Anevia stands up and shouts, "I would expect someone who is ashamed of his own faith to not be stirred by finding this temple!" She sits back down and glares at the stone door.
Horgus seems taken aback be this remark but then replies, "Ironic how someone who consorts with thieves is chiding me. Are we leaving her behind or not?!"
Thomas Vinland |
AOO: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
going for another presise strike on the fly, Thomas misses this time and watches it fly away, then turns his attention to his comrads.
Then we rest. Looking angerly at Horgus We are not leaving anyone behind, no matter how much you seem to want to abandon them! We will get out of this together! breathing for a moment to calm himself.
Anevia, let me have a look at your leg again. heal check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Nossac |
NO, we will not be leaving her behind and if you continue on this tirade it is you who we will leave behind. I don't think I have to tell you about the danger that would present for you.
Detect Evil on Horgus
Nossac turns to Anevia.
Is there anything we can do to help you?
Mekel |
I don't think we can leave anyone behind here. Be calm, please. The deeps can drive men mad. We must be patient, methodical and careful but we can get back to the surface."
Am I trying to convince myself or them?
In an effort to distract attention Mekel turns to the water.
"Do you think this might be holy water? Either way this water can help us survive!"
perception: water: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24how much water, does it look ok to drink, is there a source filling the basing?
Nossac |
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Indeed Mekel, I see it too. Looks like this fight isn't over yet.
Nossac gets into a better position and readies his bow.
GM Schiffer |
The door to in inner temple opens, and an undead dwarf comes rushing out, his mouth hanging open in a silent scream, and swings is hammer wildly at Dorotea!
attack roll and damage roll verses Dorotea: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 61d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
init is 18
place yourselves in the green. assume that you are inside the building.
Dorotea he is attacking you so your can start next to him, everyone else anywhere they feel.
Nossac |
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Nossac watches the door burst open and fires an arrow into the beast that lunges forward.
Readied Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Confirmation: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Critical: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (2, 1) + 2 = 5
He is trained to take down the undead, and his arrow finds it's mark with ease, but in his surprise he failed to put much strength behind behind it. Quickly he follows up the shot with another.
On his initiative
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Let me know if I would get both attacks (for readying), or if I would only get the first and the second lands next round. Wish that crit did more damage.
Nossac |
If the creature is still standing when it is Nossac's turn to react
Nossac dives backwards firing off one more arrow into the Undead's Skull.
5ft step back, launch arrow
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
But when he recovers, he is a bit off balance and the arrow flies past it's mark barely grazing it's cheek.
Thomas Vinland |
Thomas will move up and stab at it with his Cestus.
attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
You were once sent from this world and you shall be again!
GM Schiffer |
Go ahead and make your turn, knowledge skills arn't a standard action.
GM Schiffer |
The dwarf turns to strike Thomas, widely swinging it's hammer. However Thomas manages to raise his shield just in time to block the dwarf's attack.
Attack and Damage vs Thomas: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 161d10 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
I hate high AC parties :P. No matter what i do without sending in touch attack monsters, i never hit them. My other group i play with has a paladin, armored Hulk barbarian and a monk in the front lines, along with magus archer in the back of the group, can't hit any of them with melee :P
Nossac |
I usually advance my monsters to adda bit of challenge to my group. Accidentally double advanced a double advanced creature last session, and they had an AC of like 26 for a ghoul. Was somewhat awesome to be able to hit my party for once.
Nossac seeing his companion in danger quickly launches what he hopes is his final arrow at the creature.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
But sadly his view was obscured and the arrow sticks in the wall on the other side of the room. So he moves to ensure that his next shot, if needed, will land true.
Dorotea. |

You would really hate my Kensai. He has a high touch AC, good saves, and enjoys casting both Mirror Image and Displacement.
With the undead dwarf's attention directed elsewhere, Dorotea continues her attack, striking a solid blow and finishing the creature off.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Nossac |
Nossac shoots an arrow point blank to make sure the target is dead, then he goes and collects the arrows he can salvage.
GM Schiffer |
In one rotted hand the dwarf grips a masterwork war hammer, and one finger has a golden ring with the symbol of Torag on it. In it's belt it has two position of cure light wounds.
Broken stone benches line this narrow room. The air is cold and stale, and think layers of dust vocer the floor, benches and a large alter at the far end of the room.
Again Anevia becomes silent inside the temple, but says nothing.
Nossac |
The surprises never end down here, good thinking Mekel.
Nossac will look around and have his bow ready fearing history will repeat itself.
Thomas Vinland |
Thomas will investigate the ring. Cast detect magic on the ring, and I will also cast if around the temple just in case.
Also knowledge religion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 on Torag for any pertinent information about His worship, and customs for burial rights.
Mekel, Dorotea how about each of you take one of these potions just in case. Aneivia, are you alright? You look troubled.
Mekel |
The surprises never end down here, good thinking Mekel.
"Thanks Nossac." Mekel beams at the praise
Mekel, Dorotea how about each of you take one of these potions just in case. Aneivia, are you alright? You look troubled.
"Okay. Does anyone have something we can store the holy water in?"
Thomas Vinland |
I have 2 flasks of oil I could dump out and replace with Holy Water. I also have an empty waterskin in addition to my full one we could use.
While I am thinking about it Thomas will recast light on his shield.
GM Schiffer |
with a religion check like that you know how to bury the dwarf lol
Ignor the perception check below until you are ready to leave the temple, as it doesn't matter until then.
battle will take place outside the temple, in the red outlined squares.
Nossac |
You're just full of good ideas Mekel. Those of you that are thirsty, grab a drink and fill your skins with holy water in case it is needed in the future. Let's hope it isn't, but our luck has not been that good so far.
Nossac will try and determine if the water is holy or unholy, then he will see how much of it they can get before it runs out so that they don't waste any. If there is enough for everyone, he will drink from his skin. Otherwise he will let the other take their share and refill.
Nossac |
Nossac will take a drink and offer it to the other survivors. Then he will fill his up at the fountain and look around at the entrance.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Looks clear to me. Shall we press on?
He does not put his bow away, but instead casts light on an arrow and holds it ready just in case.
Mekel |
Mekel calls back to Thomas as he trails after Nossac
"Thomas, I don't want to tell you what to do, but this was a পাষণ্ড - a Hecuva - cursed by his god for blasphemy. Cursed by a god of life and good to be a creature of death and evil. Whatever he did, I don't know if burying him is going to help him in the afterlife..."
Mekel, now outside, suddenly screams
"What is that!?!?" he shrieks, wildly reaching for an arrow while also trying to point up the wall.
Dorotea. |
Following Mekel outside, Dorotea says I don't know if burying him will help with his afterlife, but it is the right thing to do.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Sh!!!! that is ugly spider, Cover me Mekel, Dorotea yells as she moves to better position.
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Move forward and ready an action to attack if the spider comes within reach
Thomas Vinland |
sorry, somehow missed the first post about the dwarf.
perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
In a wispier I cannot see it, but I will do my best to protect you.
initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
