Nossac
Good lord!
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Nossac takes no time retrieving his bow and launching an arrow into the spider.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Nossac
Looks like you gave loot, but not EXP.
Nossac
I did not, thank you for reminding me.
Mekel
14 damage that missed by 1!
Mekel is knocked aside by the spider, enormous fangs dribbling poison down the front of his leather breastplate.
If I hadn't been wearing that leather that poison would be going inside me!
"Praise Abadar!" Mekel shrieks in the sudden fervor of a man saved from death.
Backing away he shoots once more
shortbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Nossac
Nossac, seeing one of his companions in trouble, springs into action and launches another arrow.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Which flies straight past the creature.
Nossac
Nossac attempts to shoot another arrow at the beast.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Confirm: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8
The arrow finds it's mark, and digs deep into the creatures carapace. Unfortunately Nossac misjudged the thickness and it fails to rupture any major organ.
Thomas Vinland
Thomas will 5 foot around the spider, hoping to get a better angle on the beast, and will swing again with the starknife.
attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
I swear this game wants me dead, a 1, then a 2, and now a 3.
Thomas Vinland
NOSSAC, I'll try and protect Mekel, I need you to put this thing down!
Free action: Drop starknife. Move action: Draw silver scale from pack.
5 foot, Standard: channel positive energy, deselecting the spider.
channel: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Nossac
Nossac takes a deep breadth and exhales slowly as he lets loose another arrow.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Distracted by his companion falling to the ground, the arrow flies off wildly.
I'm working on it!
Doesn't looks like it hehe
GM Schiffer
You are correct Mekel
The spider turns from Mekel and bites at Thomas, its fangs sinking deep into his skin!
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 251d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
I need a fortitude check from you Thomas. DC 17 :)
Players turn! Mekel, you may wait to take your con damage until the others have gone, or may take it before they go. It's up too you.
GM Schiffer
Hegron
No questions GM Schiffer ;)
The southern door bursts open, as a huge man wades through it - his compact, strong frame seems to move with ease, in spite of his semi-rigid armor, apparently built of lacquered layers of rigid leather, and the two large weapons he carries - one at his back - a reinforced wooden shaft to which a very large spiked iron ball is attached, and another one in his hands - some sort of massive polearm with a crescent shaped axeblade.
His protective garment sports multiple scratch, and what seem like bite marks, and his long disheveled hair, caked beard, and bloodied clothing clearly state that the man has surely been through some scuffles, and probably these have been recent.
More pungent is the scowl on his face, and the fierce look in his eyes, as he takes in the scene - without even breaking a step, and holding his weapon with both hands, he dashes through the space that separates him from you, issuing nothing more than a low growl, that ends in some sort of "Humpf" as he swings the weapon in a wide arc aimed at the body of the spider.
Raging (Free Action), charging to J:23, and attacking the spider -> Bonuses are Charge and Flank, if possible.
1d20 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 21Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Status:
Controlled Rage -> 11/12 rounds
AC: 14 (Modifiers: -2 [Charge] +1 [Combat Expertise])
HP: 12/14
I can't seem to add Hegron's pic to the Google Drive map for some reason.
Thomas Vinland
I 5 foot diagonally hopefully out of the spiders reach and health check Mekel to cure his poison.
Heal Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Desna, help be draw the poison from this wound, like the butterfly draws nectar from the flower.
EDIT:Woops, forgot to make that fort save Fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 correction forgot to fail that fort save
Nossac
Seeing another join the fray, Nossac fires with bolstered resilience.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
The arrow finds its mark and penetrates deep into one of the creatures eyes. Nossac Looks around and sees that Mekel is down. He knocks another arrow just to be sure and gets a look around before asking.
Is he alright?
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
GM Schiffer
Beautiful heal check on Mekel Thomas. If you can make one more DC heal 17 you can cure his poison but it look as if you are now infected by the poison. that's 1d3 con damage a round for 6 rounds. one more note that i forgot when Mekel was poisoned: it also staggers you while you are poisoned
You each gain 350 XP. This includes the fight against the undead dwarf that i forgot to give out.
Hegron, inside this cave you are in is a small building with the symbol of a hammer on it's door. I had the rest of your party role a DC 10 religion check to find out the symbol
"Is it alright to come out!?" shouts Horgus from the temple.
GM Schiffer
Yes, the spider has fallen
Im not sure if this is how it normally works but thats all i could find.
Also you regain 2 points of ability score damage for every 8 hours you rest.
Hegron
Hegron leans heavily on his weapon, his muscles relaxing visibly as he takes in the scene - "Is he ok?" - he questions, nodding towards Mekel - "These damned caves are crawling with vermin" - he adds - "Had to stomp a couple of them on my way here. Are there any more of you?"
Mekel
I don't think he has to roll a stablize because all the damage since he went unconscious has been due to con loss.
Give the situation I looked up the Treat Poison rules here and it turns out it normally just gives a +4 competence bonus to the fort saves, which means Mekel would have gotten 18 and made his save.
I'll go whichever way you like
Nossac
We have a few others, how did you get down here? Have an idea on which way leads out?
Nossac hears the others asking for the all clear.
Not just yet, it will be one more moment.
He turns back to Hegron.
Have you seen any other creatures come from that way? Nossac says gesturing to the direction Hegron came from.
Hegron
"Well..." - Hegron ponders for a few moments - "I was in Kenabres when all Hell broke loose - literally. I saw the Dragon go down under that demon, and almost had no time to draw my weapon" - he looks at his polearm with a raised eyebrow - "Don't know what good it would have done anyways"
Turning back to Nossac, he adds - "Next thing I knew, this monstrosity broke from underground, turning the whole plaza into a freaking chasm, as it ripped apart - I just fell in..." - his voice trails off momentarily with the memory of the Dragon that saved his life, but he does not voice it - "And woke up in here, without any idea on how to get back up top"
"Back there? No, I did wrestle a couple of vermin on my way here - they ain't much to look at after you scrape them off your boot though, and that was far aways a tad"
Nossac
Nossac nods at Hegron approvingly.
All clear, lets get cleaned up and prepare to move out.
Thomas Vinland
Wait, I'm still injured
fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Crap Con damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3
I don't feel so good I really hope my plan works
I touch of luck myself, so that I can roll twice next "round" on all d20 rolls.
HP:2
CON:9
So before I continue to try and save myself does anyone have anything that could help.
Nossac
Unfortunately I don't have anything.
GM Schiffer
Anyone wanna try to use heal checks on them?
Aravashnial and Anevia stumble out. Anevia looks carefully at Hegron but continues to Mekel. Of course Aravashnialcannot see him. He begins instruction Nossac about the poison of spiders how to slow it down, while Anevia goes to Mekel.
"All right big guy, help me out here or we lose him!" She says to Hegron
Nossac gains a +2 to heal Thomas. Mekel needs only one save to be cured, and Thomas (i believe) needs two)
Horgus comes shuffling out of the temple. He makes no advancement to help, but mumbles under his breath, "Why not jam a healing potion from that undead dwarf down his throat? Might keep him quite for a while in addition to saving his life."
Avevia looks at Horgus for a moment, and then grabs a potion off of Mekel's belt, un-corkes the top, and pours it down Mekel's throat.
Potion of Cure Light Wounds on Mekel: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
