Arathorn Vallar |
Once she throws down her weapon Arathorn quickly calls Atticus to Heel. After Atticus comes over, Arathorn also takes a little time to treat/dress the scratch that the woman dealt to his companion.
Take 10 to Heal giving 17 total.
Well if we are to believe your accusations we would dare a lot, but to get back on task guessing you killing the favored son didn't disarm the trap huh.
Looking thoughtful and speaking partly to himself and partly to the group.
Still thrown with the accent if he meant son or sun...Any other ideas?
Hallimir Duskrin |

Hallimir looks up at Arathorn in response.... "Sun....as in 'when the last Sun falls here'....as in the last light of day..."
Hallimir then looks over to the stone bust seeing that it is bathed in shadow from another mausoleum and lightly taps his head with his palm in a moment of epiphany.
I was wandering why that was on the map
"We need to get the last light of day to fall on the statue
Blane Bonesnatcher |
"well if that is the case maybe we could drag it out of the shadow i do have a rope and if the woman's horse cant drag it then i could go get my pony and maybe between the two of them they could move it out of the shadow?"

Lady Rhiannon looks shocked, and then feverishly elated.
"Ai on-lee requiyaire what eez mon fami-lee's by right. Givé me le chalice ét you can 'ave whatevair othair treasures remain."

The high falcon-clad monument dedicated to Tullivor's enemies, the Sarvio family, casts its shadow over the bust blotting out the rapidly waning light.

The big stone bust and plinth are secured to the stone walkway. It would probably take a team of horses to drag it out without somehow freeing the granite and bronze statue from the ground first.
That and dusk is nearly at an end. Already the sky is deepening and stars can be seen in the east.
What do you want to do?
Hallimir Duskrin |
Hallimir thinks for a mement before abruplty placing down his pack and retrieving a mirror.
"I knew this would come in handy one day"
He then takes the mirror and holds it up to the fading light, trying to reflect the last rays towards the statue efore they are plunged into the darkeness of night.
The World's Most Interesting GM |
There's a click from the mausoleum door.
Arathorn Vallar |
Sorry for the delay going to go back in time slightly after Hallimir shines light on the statue.
Following the light from the mirror; Arathorn has a nagging thought in his head.
Hallimir what did you say earlier about the body?
Either way approaching the horse he attempts to take the reins and lead the horse over to the tree to the north of the central statue.
Keeping up a gentle conversation in a soothing voice usually repeating some fragment of the following.
Easy now boy just going to tie you up over here out of the way.
Turning to the crazy woman.
Will just put your weapons over here with your horse until we are both satisfied and leave this town.
Hallimir Duskrin |
Hallimir looks at Arathorn "the body is that of the youngest Tullivor. Our friend over here mentioned it when accusing us of the murder."
Hallimir then stores the mirror back in his pack then follows Zaratina closely into the mausoleum.
The World's Most Interesting GM |
The gate swings aside easily allowing the party entry.
There is no map of the inside, but who is going in?
The mausoleum contains five sarcophagi bearing the names of the Tullivors interred within. Above Laban’s casket, a big gleaming tapestry depicts the Tullivor crest and the family motto: “Never in Shadow.”
Arathorn Vallar |
Looking up briefly at Hallimir's reply, he takes a few seconds before replying.
Think you said more than that but was a little distracted trying to follow the tracks after looking at the wounds briefly without much luck.
Also, me and Atticus will stay out here we don't care much for going into a tomb and someone needs to keep an eye out...Wonder should we move the body into the mausoleum with the rest of his kin?
Hallimir Duskrin |
Hallimir cautiously follows Zaratina into the crypt. As he walks in he sniffs the air and curls up his nose.
"bahh, musty"
Hallimir looks around the crypt for anything that could be valuable or considered a treasure.

Compared to the exterior with its flourishes and badger gargoyles, the interior quite sparse.... In fact, even the stone sarcophagi are rather plain.

Zaratina |
"I think the contents of the tomb were oversold," Zaratina remarks to their 'helpful' prisoner. "Certainly worth your murdering someone."
Hallimir Duskrin |
Hallimir walks over and inspects the Tapestry. "I wonder if this coud be the treasure Ulisha Mentioned..."

Blane Bonesnatcher |
Blane not caring to disturb the dead will stand by the entrance to the mausoleum where he can help Arathorn keep watch but can also help if things go south inside.
"from the sounds of it it seems that tapestry is the only thing that is in here beside some old bones. just grab it hallimir and let us depart this place."
The World's Most Interesting GM |
Hallimir can't tell how much the (10'x10' 100 pound) tapestry might fetch, but it is woven with traceries of silver and gold thread.
Hallimir Duskrin |
"Zat cannot bé all! Whaire eez la grail? Eet must be haire!"
Noting the silver and gold thread, Hallimir turns to Rhiannon trying not to make it obvious that he has noticed it.
"Apparently not, my dear. It seems that we have both been deceived but the rumours of the trasures kept here. Most likley spread to inflate the ego's of yet another pompus noble family.
"But in the interest of making amends for my friend's...transgretions," Hallimir glances over at Blane, "We will take this tapestry, which is clearly designed to further inflate their ego's. It will leave their Mausoleum dank and bare, marking your family's as the most grand in the city and we can leave this place as allies. Allies who could be of great use to each other in the future."

Hallimir Duskrin |
Hallimir shoots Zaratina a look as if to say 'shut up, I'm trying to distract her' "yes...well, there is that little problem. Perhaps if you were to agree to support certain groups and causes within the Inner sea, this tragedy can be put down to a meer unfortunate mugging by some poor wayward soul."

Gutsy, considering she is still carrying your arrow in her leg. Probably not going to happen with this particular noble.
Eyes locked on the tapestry, face red and twisted with hate, Rhiannon makes to move forward.

She grabs for the hilt of her boot knife as she goes.

As Rhiannon moves to grab her knife Hallimir lunges forward and attempts to restrain her.

It was worth a shot noting that I had been trying to de-escalate the situation the whole time. Also, was hoping she wouldn't notice that the tapestry was valuable.

"You're not a quitter," Zaratina says as she steps around and stabs at the woman's legs.

Rhiannon falls bleeding to the stone tile floor.
END COMBAT
The big tapestry does seem to be the only thing of any obvious worth (out in the open at least).
Hallimir Duskrin |
As Rhiannons body falls to the floor, Hallimir looks at Zaratina.
"She could have been useful...anyway, let's get this Tapestry to Ulisha."
With that Hallimir starts to pull the tapestry off the wall.
Hallimir Duskrin |
"I don't think she's dead yet," Zaratina says. "But better her than you."
Hallimir glances back at Rhiannon bleeding on the floor and sighs,
he then bends down, rips some strips from her clothing and wraps her wounds as best as he can to stem the bleeding.heal: 1d20 ⇒ 18
"There, she shouldn't bleed out now. Can we just get this Tapestry out of here before any guards show up"
Unless anyone really wants to do anything else, I think we are probably done
The World's Most Interesting GM |
Grabbing the tapestry the party rushes out of the tomb and back their lodgings.
Ulisha's hideout (if she is still there after all this time) is a few miles outside of the town.
I'll move us to the end game unless anyone else has something to do before then tomorrow.
The World's Most Interesting GM |
The group heads out to rainy Daggermark the next day from thence to Ulisha's hideout in the hills. The treasure-seeker seems haggard after months living in a cave and is immediately greatful to see them back agian.
Making the trade for the artifact sickle--the Silverhex, the party is free to return to Absalom, (Janira left word she was heading back monthes ago) and Ulisha makes ready to head into town and pay off the bounty upon her head.
