"Indeed, that was one hell of a swing"
Hallimir Searches to bodies of the Barbarians for anything of use.
My vote is that we stop at any small towns on the way to Galtron to restock and have a good nights rest

Loot from the Looters Two suits of leather armor, 2 longbows with 10 masterwork arrows, 40 regular arrows, 2 longsword, 2 saps, a breastplate, a greatsword, a heavy flail, a sling with 10 bullets, alchemist’s fire, tanglefoot bags (4), thunderstones (4), 101 gp, and three tiny mysterious vials (see below).
Note this treasure is technically only usable through the end of the scenario, so use 'em while you got 'em.

Will take those MW arrows though not sure I need much else...but lets put it on Blane's pony.
Leading the way down the path Arathorn continues to look for any more marauders.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Will also cast CLW after we rest again on both Atticus and Zaratina to get everyone up to full health as quickly as possible during the trip. Also, got no issues doing that and "selling" most of the weapons/armor to resupply for the rest of the trip.

![]() |

blane seeing the last of the foes hit the ground, he moves over to zaratina and casts CLW.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
seeing that his first atemp was weak he smiles. "sorry i am unpractices at this form of magic here let me try again." blane will use his other casting of CLW to help get zaratina up in HP.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
shaking his head in frustration blane just kinda smiles. "sorry i am not much of help when it comes to healing but i will get better.'
zaratina thats 4 more points from blane's 2 casting of CLW.
blane will look over the vials concentraiting on using his detect magic after the required amount of time he will use his spellcraft skill on all three of them.
spellcraft vial 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
spellcraft vial 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
spellcraft vail 3: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
"well guys this potion is of CLW." blanes holds up the third vial and excaimes to the group "but as these other two i am not certain as to the nature of them."

![]() |

"Let me have a look at those"
Hallimir takes the two unknown vials from
Blane, unstoppers each and has a snif and uses his finger to taste each.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
"Well that one tastes like a potion of Cure light wounds and that one smells a little like a remove fear potion that I sampled once during my initiate training. Anyone mind if I hold onto these?"
Hallimir then places the potions, along with the alchemists fire and 2 each of the thunderstones and Tanglefoot bags into his bandolier.
Zaratina do u need the potions to heal up?

Weeks later.
The walls of Gralton heave into sight shortly after noon, and by evening the party arrives travel-worn at the gates of the city state in exile.

hoping that the appearance of a ratkin dont throw this whole mess askew. blane reaches out to shake the fine gents hand.
"do u know where the closest inn is as we are tired from our journey and would like a good place to get a bite to eat and rest."

"Gillviaam Forshadow" says Hallimir as he stands to attention and bows slightly to the guard.
bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
"Would you be so kind as to point us towards the closest inn"

![]() |

Hallimir smirks slightly at Arathorn's response.
"So now you have our names....may we be permitted entry?"

![]() |

Hallimir shakes his head a Zaratina's comment, "I think he means there is a bathouse down past the stables"
"Thank you fo your help" he says to the guard and sets off towards the 'Nairth Square'

The World's Most Interesting GM |

"The bath is behind the stables?" Zaratina asks herself in bafflement.
"Is he playing a trick on me? Or making a comment about my face?"
"Nay." says the guard.
The 'North Square' is a broad merchant square lined with an array of businesses facing a gated cemetery at its center.
The Glad Maiden seems to be a middle-of-the-road inn/tavern popular with the locals. A loud crowd is in evidence as evening approaches.

![]() |

Guess we going to the bath first before swinging by the inn?
Either way Arathorn is going to try see if he hears anything interesting while they walk by the crowd on the way to the bath house.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Blane will swing by the inn. As he walks through the doors to the inn he will head up to the bar.
"excuse me how much is a room for the night or maybe even for a couple of nights?"

Hallimir approaches the Inn Keeper "One private room and a hot bath please"
Hallimir takes out a few coins and places them in the counter. What was the cost for the private room?
After his bath, Hallimir will sit down in a quiet area of the Inn with the journal and refresh his memory after the ling weeks of travelling.

Catching a quick whiff of Atticus
Works for me.
Looking at Atticus
Wonder if they will let me wash you after I finish...Your a little distinctive right now boy.

Once Hallimir finishes with his bath he returns to the Inn and sits with Arathorn and Blane.
"Now lets have a look at what Ulisha thought was so valuable here.", he says quietly to the others as he pulls out the journal.
The only thing worse than working for a Galtan nobleman is working for two Galtan noblemen—in my case, Lords Tullivor and Sarvio, both of whom are happy only when the other is not. I made a tidy sum recovering their heirlooms, but when Laban Tullivor tasked me to steal a platinum chalice belonging to the Sarvios, I took my leave (and the cup), and they’ve been hounding me since.
Now Laban’s deceased, and it’s rumored his mausoleum in Gralton’s cemetery harbors a treasure. I hope you’ll not balk at tomb-robbing.
Remember, these are aristocrats. I say, a plague on both their houses.
Hallimir quietly scans the pages, "Hmmmm a treasure....thats rather, umm, vague"

![]() |

Damn was really in the mood for a good ale...Mead...Whiskey...definitely not wine.
Mead, Sausage and Slaw...and a loaf of bread.
After delivering his order Arathorn turns back to the group.
Well noblemen probably means the graveyard next door...not sure how we want to go about this though...Vague is an understatement and if it is so valuable why would it still be there...We cant be the only ones that know about this supposed "treasure."
While waiting for the group respond Arathorn attempts to listen in on any other nearby conversations without being too apparent.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

"True, and I doubt noblemen would leave such a treasure unguarded"
Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 Do I know anything about Lords Tullivor and Sarvio?

The World's Most Interesting GM |

Laban Tullivor was a corrupt and cruel man. Before dying, he boasted about the treasure to be entombed with him as well as about a magical trap that could be bypassed by “one who earns Tullivors’ thanks.”
While waiting for the group respond Arathorn attempts to listen in on any other nearby conversations without being too apparent.
Most of the conversation that you can hear are hard to understand given la ootrajeous accents. Most of it seems to be local/personal affairs.

![]() |

keeping his voice low so as only tjhe people around him can hear. "so are you getting that we have to find something that is buried with them. i know from books that somethings are buried with the dead but not all is. what if what we are looking for is still with there respective houses? i dont think that we could pull off another break in let alone two of them if what we are looking for is not in there tombs"
Blane kinda sits back and ponders a min then leans back in. "for another thing what are we even looking for the notebook is so not helpful as to what she is talking about. is there any thing else in there Hallimir that might give us more of a description as to what we are looking for?"

The World's Most Interesting GM |

In general there isn't much in the way of guidance beyond what you've got. Ulisha's entry makes it clear she is a bit disgruntled with the dead man (her ex-employer), knows he is a rich fat cat, and expects you might find a dragon's pillow worth of treasure inside.

![]() |

Speaking quietly to Blane
Well lets just start with the tombs and regroup if there isnt anything worthwhile there before we borrow trouble.
Stupid accents are making it tough to understand anything... freaking inefficient/useless/annoying things.

![]() |

True Zaratina...but then again why is it accepted to go digging in older civilizations burial grounds and tombs but not polite to do it for the more recently departed...Is it just because we knew them as opposed to the ancient ones being an unknown or simply because there isn't anyone left to protest.

![]() |

"whilst it may not be polite, Laban Tullivor was not a good man. I remember reading about him a few years ago, he was corrupt and cruel and loved to rub he wealth in the faces of those less fortunate.
Also, lets not forget why we are doing this....If we cannot acquire the Silverhex for the Society, then Ulisha may well just sell it to the next highest bidder....I mean, how would you feel if the Aspis Consortium got hold of it"
Hallimir sips from his drink as he ponders for a moment.
" but we need to be cautious, I have also heard rumors that Tullivor placed a magical trap to protect these riches. The only way past it is to 'earns Tullivors’ thanks', whatever that means".

New moon.

"we should take tomorrow and look around and maybe talk to some people to see if we can get some much lacking info on this Tullivor family. if what Hallimir says is true about a magic trap we might have to see what it is before we go blindly walking in to our deaths."

Without much to do that night though you can do stuff if you like) the party adjourns to their respective lodgings.
Next day. What's the plan?

![]() |

"Agreed, let us go and have a look around and see what we can find out"

the next morning Blane leaves the inn and heads out to explore the town looking around to kinda familiarize himself with the town a little bit. after the sun has made its way to the high center of the sky he makes his way around to find the cemetery.
seeing the guard blane walks up to him
"hello my friend how are you doing this fine day?"
