There is a rustling in the snow that at the last minute alerts the party. Suddenly a large white sinuous form erupts from the snow next to Penelopy.

Penelopy:16
Tristan: 14
Gaelin 14
Jeydavu: 14
Ice wyrm: 7

The White-colored monster looks like a cross between a dragon and a snake. Three meters of body coil behind a ferocious draconic head. Two small vestigial arms protrude from the beast's smooth sides

Your go!

RIP

Penelope stabs at the creature

atk/dam: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 191d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

The strike slices a long gash along the wyrm's underbelly

"TAKE THAT DRAGON!" She screams fiercely, red hair whipping about her furious features

Male Half-elf Monk 1

Tristan studies the wyrm momentarily before moving in to strike, but he fails to find a weak point.

Standard attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Unarmed damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 plus Scorpion Strike (DC 13 Fortitude or speed reduced to 5 for 3 rounds)

Male Human (Ulfen) Urban Barbarian 2 [HP 36/36; AC 17]

After the talk of dragons, Gaelin is immediately alarmed by the wyrm before them. His refined features take on a savage aspect and he lets out a fierce roar. He is scarcely the well-mannered gentleman he was a moment ago. He swings at the creature with incredible strength.

Raging.

power attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 5) + 12 = 18

Male Oread Arctic Druid 2

"This must be the creature that attacked you, Ecaterina. Time to extract some revenge!" calls out Jeydavu. He chants in Druidic and his quarterstaff begins to glow. He steps up to threaten the white wyrm. His moose companion follows his lead and tries to gore the creature. gore: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22, damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 gore to confirm critical: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15, damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Nice job guys

The party's attacks wound the wyrm greviously, it thrashes in the deep snow, pale steaming blood fountaining from its wounds. After a few twitches it lies still

Male Human (Ulfen) Urban Barbarian 2 [HP 36/36; AC 17]

The beast slain, Gaelin sags from the effort of the fight. He breathes heavily a moment.

"Was that... Was that the dragon that attacked you?" He asks the witch, still regaining his breath.

Female Human (Jadwiga) Winter Witch 2

Ecaterina freezes as the beast erupts from the snow before them. Memories of her flight through the forest come rushing back to her and she momentarily hesitates. Her hesitation however, is enough time for her new allies to quickly move in and dispatch the beast before them.
She turns to both Jeydavu and Gaelin, her shock now gone.
"Yes, that was the beast that attacked me. I see that you people are indeed worthy of being my allies in this endeavour. Your might is great indeed. I am sure that we can get to the bottom of what is going on now."

The trail of broken snow leads in into the frozen forest

Any actions? Otherwise I'll move the scene along

Male Human (Ulfen) Urban Barbarian 2 [HP 36/36; AC 17]

"Let us hope that is the worst of what this blighted wood has to offer." The tall Ulfen returns his greatsword to its place on his back and continues following the trail.

Bribes always welcome

The group heads further into the frozen wood, naught but the loud crack of the occasional branch to break the hushed silence.

As they walk, they begin to see little bundles of black hanging by strings from the ice-clad branches of the nearby trees. The bundles seem pierced with pins or needles, and frozen in clear ice

Actions?

Male Human (Ulfen) Urban Barbarian 2 [HP 36/36; AC 17]

Gaelin approaches one of the bundles to give it a closer look, wary of any traps or the like.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Bribes always welcome

Gaelin squints, but it is hard to see exactly what they are. They are about two meters above his head, and secured to the branches by leather braids. Leather also wraps them up into an indistinct ball

Male Human (Ulfen) Urban Barbarian 2 [HP 36/36; AC 17]

Gaelin raises in eyebrow and looks to his companions. "Some type of magic perhaps?"

Male Half-elf Monk 1

Tristan peers curiously at a bundle hanging above his head nearby. Being rather less tall than Gaelin, he elects to draw his cold iron dagger and stands on his toes to cut down the bundle for closer inspection.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Bribes always welcome

Tristan are you going to climb a tree to reach them?

Male Half-elf Monk 1

Sorry, missed the bit where you said how high they were. I'm sure I'll regret this, but sure, he'll go for it. Here's a Climb check, if taking 10 isn't an option 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Bribes always welcome

Tristan gets a grip on the icy tree trunk and manages to shinny up to the lower branches. He braces himself with a ranch and reaches for the nearest ball. He grasps it, and brings it towards him.

It is a leather-wrapped crow. The birds corpse is stuck with what look to be needle-sized arrows.

As Tristan prepares to cut the bundle down there is a sudden small hiss

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 91d2 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 01d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 251d2 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -11d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 221d2 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0

Tristan feels two numbing stings as two tiny arrows sink into him.

Roll two DC 11 fort checks or gain the >>staggered<< condition

Group init please!

Male Half-elf Monk 1

"Augh!"

Fortitude 1 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Fortitude 2 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Group Initiative 1d20 ⇒ 14 Tristan is at +2.

Antagonists int: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Ok. They got the drop in y'all, so one more round

The still wintry air is broken by the hissing whine of tiny arrows again, coming from somewhere in the nearby tree cover. Three more streak out, still aiming for Tristan

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 151d2 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -11d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 221d2 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 01d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 151d2 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0

Tristan since you are gripping a tree ATM, you don't have any Dex bonus. If any of those arrows hit roll a DC 11 Fort save as before per hit. Everybody, post your actions and we'll get this going

RIP

Penelopy scans the forest for a target

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

1d20 ⇒ 17

She growls in frustration

"Whatever little snow suckers are out there, I can't see them!"

Female Human (Shoanti) Paladin (Divine Hunter) 1

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Tama is also going to Detect Evil on the surrounding area.

Male Half-elf Monk 1

Those all hit with or without my Dex bonus...
Fortitude 1 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Fortitude 2 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Fortitude 3 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

"Gah! That stings!" Frustrated by his inability to defend himself, Tristan will drop out of the tree.

Acrobatics DC 15 to negate fall 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

He drops down to hang from the branch before letting himself fall the remaining distance. He then scans the surroundings for the source of the offending missiles.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

If he spots something, he'll cast faerie fire in its vicinity, illuminating it with purple light.

Female Human (Jadwiga) Winter Witch 2

Her eyes narrowing at the tiny arrows peppering Tristan, afraid of the possible source, Ecaterina scans the area looking for his assailants.

Perception Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

Spotting (hopefully) the offending creature(s), she points towards them and says "Coh".

Using her Slumber Hex to target an enemy. It must make a DC15 Will save or fall asleep for 1 round.

Male Oread Arctic Druid 2

Jeydavu looks around to to find the source of the attack. He casts resistance on Chtonthoth. "Keep an eye out friend," he whispers to the moose.

perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Male Human (Ulfen) Urban Barbarian 2 [HP 36/36; AC 17]

Gaelin reacts with alarm as Tristan is injured. He looks for the source of the attacks.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

If he can see what it is and attack it, he will.
To hit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13

Male Half-elf Monk 1

Strictly speaking, Tristan has not taken any substantive damage. He does have half a dozen tiny arrows sticking out of him though, so any confusion is certainly understandable.

Bribes always welcome

Sorry for the delay folks. I am going to attempt updating tonight. I don't think Tristan had any actual damage. The arrows were more for the effect

Spoiler:
1d20 ⇒ 14

Everyone with a Perception score 14 or over:

Spoiler:
You see a small darting form flit between ice-clad branches Something small, winged, and colored close to the white-blue background of the frozen trees

Bribes always welcome

Apologies folks. To adjutate this I need to be sitting at home and I haven't been doing a lot of that lately. I'll hopefully have an update tomorrow

Male Oread Arctic Druid 2

"There it is!" shouts Jeydavu. He points out a small darting form moving between the branches. "I don't know if I can make out what it is." knowledge(nature) if applicable: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Jeydavu:

Spoiler:
Jeydavu has head tales of the cruel winter pixies that haunt the forests of Irrisen. Perhaps some have come to dwell in this winter-ensorcelled Forest?

I do, assuming I can target one of these.

sling: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Bribes always welcome

Gaelin fits a lead ball in his sling pouch with the easy assurance of a life-long hunter. He whirls it overhead, the well-oiled leather making a whop-whop sound in the air. He sees the small flying sprite Tristan outlined in purple light. He lets the bullet fly and there is a loud sickening thud as the lead shot smacks into the small fey like a catapult ball. The purple-lit sprite wobbles a bit in mid-air but seems to still be in the fight

Ecaterina: 20 slumber hex

Penelopy: 18 blowgun
Tristan: 16 faerie fire
Gaelin 16 sling-hit
Jeydavu: 16 pending

Penelopy takes out one of the smooth bamboo dart guns that are popular among the hunters in this region

"Time to get me a squab" She mutters, aiming at the outlined fey

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 41d2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

The small dart buzzes by the flying purple-lit fey, but fails to strike

Jeydavu's I think you still have an action

Male Oread Arctic Druid 2

Jeydavu reaches into the frigid snow and searches for a second before pulling up three small stones.

Bribes always welcome

OK, next round

The wounded blue-outlined sprite dives into the nearby tree branches

It's going to try and hide. I understand faerie Fire gives a -20. That actually negates it's usual +20. If you roll a perception equal or greater you can attack it this round

stealth: 1d20 ⇒ 7

As the fey pixie hides there is a sudden blinding flash from a nearby tree. A spray of colors envelop Tristan, Gaelin and Penelopy

Those affected roll a Will save DC12
