Inikai
Wellard, thanks for making Inikai's actions this round. I confused about what he would be able to see for targeting a foe. This is my own failing not yours.
Inikai is nearly overwhelmed by the confusion of the battle. He instinctively strikes out with his power but in the same moment fears that Muchorak and Ali are too close to the enemies.
Alisebett
Wellard, I am a little confused here; Can/Should Ali make [i]another Wild Empathy (1d20+8=24) check? If so, there it is. If it's not necessary or possible and she has another action available, please let me know
As the yucky Goblin druid's only response seems to be to continue attack her friends, Ali ignores him and her world and focus narrows down to the beautiful wild cat before her. Approaching the large feline which stands at almost the same hieght as her, Ali makes sure to place her own body between it and her allies to protect it from them. She continues to speak gently to it, asking as to it's well being and assuring it's safety. She slowly reaches out her small hand to let it smell her properly then, if she senses it will allow it, she touches the creature gentley, lovingly stroking it's fur.
DM Wellard
The cat whilst not taking any action against you merely moves away from Ali(you have managed to change it's attitude to indifferent and it uses a hel action to move away)
Muchorak misses the goblin..it's barklike skin turning his blades.Maraks sword gets into the combat at last but also fails to strike home
Shalelus arrow misses as well and then the goblin avoids the worst of the second lightning bolt.
He backs off and vanishes into the brambles(withdraw action)
Kaliciel
If the fire is still there:
Kallie took aim at Muchorak again, launching her healing flame at the ranger.
If the fire is gone:
Kallie stumbled forward through the brambles, reaching out to touch Muchorak before letting her flames flow over him and keeping her eyes open for their assailant. "Where is he?!"
Her fingers twitched. She planned to use her most powerful spell as soon as the goblin showed his face again. She hoped Ali had cowed that cat though...
Usingly Heavenly Fire on Muchorak
Ranged Attack(in case I can't get close enough): 4!
Healing: 5
Romon
At the back of the pack Romon scowls. It doesn't sound like the party's normal fight and he can't see anything through the brambles, fireball, and bodies. "What's happening up there?"
keep looking around with readied action to fire when he has a target.
Marak Quan
|
Flinching away slightly as another blast of Kalliciel's witchfire passes near him, Marak moves forward, trying to stay as far as the corridor allows from the great cat, which appears to be engaged in some sort of social dominance staredown with Alisebett, until he is at the point where his sword had reached. He reaches out and takes the levitating blade in his free hand and holds it ready, peering around for any sign of the goblin spellcaster.
He is aware of Muchorak's lingering injuries, through the link that they share, like a nagging echo to his own sympathetic burns, but waits to see the results of Kallie's 'healing fire' before tapping into his own store of curative magics.
Muchorak "Windstriker"
Muchorak stands ready with his blades drawn, his sense at their farthest extent searching for the goblin shaman...under his breath he mutters, "Come out caster my blades aren't through with you yet."
Inikai
Inikai considers the interaction between Ali and the flamepelt. Certainly the goblin will reasert control when he returns to the fight. Better one foe than two he thinks. With that he tenses and waits until Ali is far enough away from the cat before calling down another bolt
Alisebett
Just to be clear Inikai, was that bolt against the Cat? Because she wasn't going to be leaving any space between her and the cat, planning of slowing following, trying to win it over. It seems like everyone has made their actions for round 3, so is round 4 now up?

Yes. If Ali is right on top of the cat then Inikai will forgo the death from above.I'm not sure what round it is; this is the only time of day that I can posy so I am probablt out of order frequently.
Marak Quan
|
Marak mutters a minor invocation to Nethys to assist Ali in her efforts.
Guidance, +1 to her check to tame the Firepelt.
At the same time, he cautions, "We must move forward Ali, or risk being overwhelmed by the goblin response. If the cat is in some way bound to that goblin, we may be forced to render it incapacitated, perhaps with a tanglefoot bag, until we can slay it's master."
He leaves unspoken the obvious solution, not wanting to upset his companion.
DM Wellard
Is Ali trying to track the druid by smell(she's got to go wolf for that as far as I can tell) or is she still dealing with the cat, she can't do both at once..my bad for not being more specific
The Druid withdrew through the brambles to the west.ALi is the only one of you who can follow him directly
Kaliciel
Kallie kept her back to Muchorak's, her fingers still twitching and ready to throw a couple of magic missiles the moment the goblin showed his face again.
She was quick to agree with Romon and Inikai. "Y-yeah, let's keep moving. Is anyone else hurt?" Muchorak still seemed to smell of burnt hair and skin to her. But Marak seemed like he had been in pain earlier as well...
She hoped for Ali's sake that they could just drive the cat away. She found herself wishing she actually knew how to cast that spider-web spell without needing a scroll.
Alisebett
No problem Wellard. The mix-up was more in that Ali's Scent ability had not yet been specified as to whether she had to be in wolf form or not to use it-it's not a result of Shapeshifting, it's because she's a wild Druid, we worked that much out between us a while ago- but it does make sense to leave it the way you say now. So that's fine with me. Which is convenient cuz you're the boss ;-)
It's obvious to her friends that their small companion finds herself in a quandary. She knows they need to go after the Goblin Druid yet she also knows that if she's not able to tame her beautiful feline friend it will likely be killed.
Suddenly an idea seems to pop into her head. She turns around to give her friends a quick smile so as not too alarm them. She then turns back to facing the cat and, calling on the native abilities of her fey heritage, mentally activates a spell-like ability that suddenly causes the loud roaring noise of a fierce predator to seemingly originate right from the tip of the Flame Pelt's tail.
Actions/OOC (for anyone)
-Ali activates her Gnome racial ability to 1/day cast Ghost Sound. At third level she can make the noise of 12 humans shouting (it says a lion roaring would be 16) at it will last for 3 rounds with a Will DC13 to disbelieve. I don't know what animal would be appropriate for this region, but her hope is to cause the Flame Pelt to panic and run away.
If that doesn't work she will ask Marak if he could try his tanglefoot bag method. Or maybe everyone yelling and shouting could scare it away now that it's not actively violent? If the cat runs off, Ali will flow to Wolf and track the druid.
DM Wellard
Cat rolls a 1 on it's will save
The cat squalls as the sound of a Dire Wolverine fills the air behind it..It runs swiftly down the passage past all off you and away.
ALi flows into wolf form and heads for the brambles..pushing through she surprises the goblin in the act of drinking a potion.
New combat
Initiative
Romon 23 and about 35 feet away round a corner
Ali 20 and has surprise
Muchorak 20 about 60 feet away
Shalelu 20 about 60 feet away
Goblin 15
Inakai 14 about 60 feet away
Marak 13 about 60 feet away
Kallie 10 about 60 feet away.
As the entangle is still active Romon will not be able to see the fight until round two the rest of you will take until round 3 to reach a spot where you can see your foe. That is assuming you all move back towards the sound of fighting from area C3.
please post your round one actions(Ali post two including your surprise)
Romon
Romon watches the firepelt sprint away with some amusement mingled with admiration for the big cat's flowing stride. He shakes his head.
When Ali slips into the brambles after the druid, he wonders where she's gone, but the more immediate concern is disengaging the thorns in which he is mired. He picks them slowly off one strand at a time while he watches for some sign of their foe.
But when the sound of Ali's new engagement reaches him, he sweeps his shortsword from it's scabbard and, swinging it like a machete, plunges toward the noise.
Don't expect any game effect from the shortsword, just scenery.
Muchorak "Windstriker"
Will it take us the three rounds to get to the point you have listed as in everyone's initiative and distance? Or can Muchorak double move this round which can get him within 5 feet of the goblin.
Muchorak sees his prey and bursts into action with his blades drawn, his movements quick and determined.
Also the Goblin caster will be Muchorak's focus for his Dodge granting him +1 AC towards the goblin
Alisebett
Ok, I'm writing this with the understanding that, for at least the surprise round, Ali is either alone with the goblin druid or or at least much closer to anyone else at this point. If this is incorrect, please let me know.
Having surprised the wizened druid Ali swiftly flows to two-leg form so she can speak and takes one last chance to try and save what may be a brother of the land in her eyes. Speaking quickly yet fiercely, the tiny wild druid stares intensely at the other as she says "This last chance! You tell Ali you serve Land and turn you belly up, maybe her friends let you live! Or you tell Ali you serve Goblins and no turn belly then they kill'em you and Ali help them!"
Round 1
(If the goblin talks or surrenders)
Then, if she believes him Sense Motive (1d20+6=10) she will turn to face her friends, and try and stop them from killing him. Explaining that he is a brother to the Land she begs them to let him go free.
(if he doesn't give up or acts threatening in any way)
Then she swiftly flows back to wolf form and attacks (1d20+6=11, 1d4+3=7) him.
Ps hope no one minds Ali attempts as negotiation with goblins! Just trying play her as she speaks to me. I'm pretty sure that's what she'd do in the circumstances
Inikai
the people at 60 feet distance will have line of sight on the combat after their third half move and be about 20 feet away on the edge of the entangling area
Does anyone else feel like one of General Pickett's men at the Battle of Gettysburg?
Inikai
Round two. Marak makes a double move action, trying to get within range of the fray.
Round three, see round two. :)
Inikai does the same.
Limited posting opportunities for the next couple of days here. So I might be spotty.
Romon
Romon fights his way clear of the brambles, and sighting down the length of his shortsword, plunges toward the goblin.
try to flank with Ali if possible
1d20 +2 to hit +2 strength -4 cramped
12+0 = 12 (14 with flanking bonus)
1d6+2
6+2 = 8 (normal damage)
1d6
4 (extra damage if flanking )
Inikai
If Inikai is within 30 feet by next round he calls down lightning if no one is close enough to the goblin to be affected. Otherwise he tries to the air-breath. If he is not within range he will continue to move forward and look out for ambushers.
