Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Muchorak ventures alone into the market place, letting his companions go about their business. The market was an eventful place, full of activity and many tradesmen. “Someday you will go to farther away lands Windstriker, there you will make more trades for the tribe and bring back more knowledge of the far lands.” His tutor, Sunarrow, had told him, “But remember one thing young one, where ever you are the tribe is with you, stand proud.”
Muchorak stopped at many stalls, taking in the aromas of many different smells, both spice and fragrance. It was strange to him in his youth and to him now of what purpose the smells made. He understood pheromones, but to think man or woman would need such things…”They have forgotten their senses,” Sunarrow’s hand swept across the crowd in the market “They have become ‘civilized’ and as such waste from the land, devouring it and loosing themselves.” Sunarrow paused; taking in Windstrikers’ reactions then locked his gaze, “They have forgotten their Totem…the blessings of the Spirits.”
He moved to another stall, fabrics and leathers of bright unnatural colors…”There is purpose in these items of theirs.” Sunarrow gathered up a cloak, “They have items such as these that can stop arrows, or even defend against steel.” The young Windstriker looked in awe at the cloak held out before him, “We have learned these things from these people, and this is why we must barter with them.” Sunarrow waited for the boy to look up at him, “It was these skills they possess that let them take the land from us, and the Demons they brought with them.”
Seeing a stall dealing in more leathers Muchorak directly approached the tradesman, “I seek such as these,” gesturing to the cloaks, “that may protect me from harm. Do you have such?”
Muchorak continued his walk through the market spotting many different items, both strange and unfamiliar to him and a few that were familiar. Muchorak noticed the belt, a belt similar to what many shamans had, certainly some of the younger shamans. He had been entrusted to hold Wolfspirits money and as such he was entrusted to spend her coin as she would need it. Simply gathering up the belt Muchorak held it before him looking at the tradesman, he seemed to stutter perhaps it was the size difference between him and the Shoanti, “sssseven hundred Sir.” The man gained his composure well and Muchorak quickly gathered the needed coin and left the stall.
Wolfspirit would like this he knew, of that he was certain, and if he gave her something of value or use to her it would only secure his place with the Spirits around him.
Wellard I noticed it wasn't on your list, but either way...Muchorak is looking for a Cloak of Resistance/Protection
Ali

Alisebett |

Muchorak
: )
I do hope Muchorak finds his cloak. But if not and he truly wants to give the belt to Wolfspirit as a gift...well,although it is completely not needed as Ali has more coin than she knows what do with (or even exists ;-) but I certainly understand the importance Muchorak would place on the gift so Ali will happily and graciously accept it either way. In fact, even if it Is her own money spent she will still believe it to be a gift from Muchorak. If you feel like writing something up on the giving of it to her I'll be happy to write her response.

Kaliciel |

Kallie..this is Rynshinn you're talking to not Vernah..as I mentioned above Vernah was, unfortunately, one of Choppers victims
Oops, sorry. Awkwaaaaaard....
Kallie broke off from her drawing when she heard the reaction to Ali's undressing. Rushing over with Rynshinn, she quickly wrapped her cloak around the gnome and helped to usher her behind the curtains. "Um, Ali...remember what we talked about? No naked in front of strangers, okay?" She didn't scold her though. She can't help it. I mean she was raised by wolves, afterall.
She was absolutely pleased with herself as Rynshinn checked over her sketch for Ali's gift, but when the tailor turned a critical eye on her own sketch, she looked absolutely heartbroken; as if the woman had taken an axe to an artist's masterpiece, even if her critiques made sense. Her mouth worked up and down silently as Rynshinn pointed out the problems. "Yes bu....okay, okay....I'll go with that. No heels....but I'm keeping the coif! Just...make it tight I guess...." She was suddenly thankful she hadn't thrown in the ram's horns after all.
Kallie tapped her chin in thought at Romon's suggestion. Romon, Ali, and Wellard:
Knowledge(local) : 11!
Kallie glanced towards Rynshinn, wondering who the new arrival was. Looks like Romon-bait!

Alisebett |

Romon is quick to yield to Ali's judgement in this matter. He'd much rather keep his fingers. "Rynshinn, maybe you could run up something more to her taste in this russet fabric, perhaps with fawn trim?"
...missed this earlier...Um, let's say for safety's sake that Ali either didn't hear or didn't understand what 'fawn trim' is. Leather, she can handle, as she just assumes that all sources of it come from animals which died on their own and were properly mourned for, their skin then used so as not to waste of Nature's Bounty. For how else would one obtain their skin? But if she were to learn that the skin and fur of a baby deer which had likely been killed for just that purpose was something people would buy...let alone the idea of it being put on her clothes...um, well, better call the healer...quick.
Ali is instantly and obviously impressed by the new woman. The Wild Druid can immediately sense she is a Den Mother and moves right up to her, sniffing her and then laying her head against the woman's arm as if she had known her all her life. She is completely comfortable with the woman and and will defer to her and occasionally ask her questions about different things in the store thinking that she is the one in charge of the place.
Shopping Crew
Hmm, for Inikai, I see something in dark blues, strong lines, bold. 'Quiet Strength'. For Muchoak...hmmm, perhaps something simple in brown and greens that would blend in with the landscape? Possibly with animal motifs or designs? Ali has no gold on her but any amount for gifts can come out of her next loot share perhaps?

Romon |

Yes, fawn the color. Romon is one of those people who can't use just red, green, blue, etc. It's got to be vermillion, chartreuse, or liliac. I can't stand them myself.
Shopping Crew:
Wellard, Romon is willing to drop 150-250 gp in advance in the clothes shop between say -- one traveller's suit and two flashy suits for him and gowns for the girls. Gowns to fit their taste, but we're talking night on the town stuff here.
On the way out of the shop, Romon tips Rynshinn a wink. He knows she's miffed because she wasn't getting enough attention.

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Muchorak finishes his shopping and ventures to the neighboring area of Sandpoint itself. He moves into the wooded area more or less for a simple strole...the Market was too much for him, there were too many people. It was an issue he could never get used to, he always found himself craving for wilds...the 'uncivilized' lands.
He moved practicing his trade; his footsteps were light, like predator stalking prey...he opened up all of his senses, noting the tracks nearby...some human others animal.
Muchorak continued his personal journey through the area until he came across a small glen, there were no humanoid tracks here, this spot was 'natural'. He went about the outer area looking for small stones after gathering enough he entered the glen in a circluar pattern setting out the stones in key locations. Each step, each placement had purpose, to an outsider looking in it would seem he was conducting a ritual, in part this was true...he wasn't so much conducting a ritual as preparing for one.
His chore finished, he looked to the sky above, closed his eyes absorbing in the light and gave his thanks to the Spirits. He exited the glen as masterfully as he entered, an animal always on the hunt.
Muchorak stayed on the outskirts of the market for most of search, his hope to spot Wolfspirit...
Not really sure where she would be in her shopping at the moment, i'm assuming that it would be after midday about the time Muchorak is doing this

Alisebett |

Before leaving the store Ali gives the 'not so pretty as Kallie' woman a neutral smile of gratitude. To Den Mother though she gives a big hug and says with eagerness "Ali come visit you and you other cubs soon, yes yes?"
Skipping her way happily out of the store with Romon and Kallie, Ali sniffs for a moment and turning to her two friends with a big smile saying "oooh! Big Bear is coming!" she then runs to meet her big pack leader, eager to show him the many things they had 'discovered' in the store.
Shopping Crew
All great ideas Romon. And for Inikai maybe just go ahead with some nice item(s) of clothing? Robes? Cloak? I see him in something noble and powerful...still the dark blues strike me as right. But we'll leave the final choice up to You Kallie = D

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Muchorak kneels down to Wolfspirit as she comes his way and once she is closer he places a hand on her and speaks, "I have something for you Wolfspirit, please come with me." In his normal stoicism he stands and walks away from the market, to the outer areas of Sandpoint.
As he enters the wood again Wolfspirit will notice how his movements change to that of a predatory animal, his movements deliberate and cautious...and yet she will easily be able to sense he takes on a position near her as a protector.
He finds his secluded glen easily and as he steps from the woods his motions become more ritualistic, he speaks in his native language in a very calm and harmonious rythym. He gestures/leads Wolfspirit to a location opposite of him near the center of the circle. He signals for her to stay in place and continues to move around stopping at key areas and would appear to be giving thanks. To what she may not know but if she were to guess Spirits she would not be wrong. The ritual comes to an end with him kneeling opposite her a belt in his hands.
"Our spirits are now closer," he lifts the belt handing it to her, "I give you this gift, it will help you in healing efforts." Muchorak waits for her to take the belt, then in his best ability howls at the sky mimicing what he has seen Wolves do.

Alisebett |

Muchorak (spoilered for space but anyone can read it if they like)
As leads Big Bear leads the way into the forest, Ali follows, naturally obeying his alpha male behaviour.
Not really understanding the specific spiritual significance of the ritual to Muchorak but completely empathizing with his deep feelings of the moment, Ali comfortably accepts the solemnity of the occasion. She then takes the gift from her pack leader with all the import with which he gives it to her. When he howls, Ali smiles and joins in, unconsciously shifting to wolf form in the midst of it. When they finish howling she once again flows back to two-leg form.
Continually gazing back and forth into Big Bear's eyes to make sure she is doing it correctly Ali slowly puts on the belt. The moment she finishes cinching the final strap, her large eyes widen momentarily as she seems to have a slightly new vision on things. Her eyes then quickly narrow then as she squints at Big Bear, moving to peer closely at various scrapes and scabs of his that he had barely noticed. Tugging on his arm and brooking no argument the small Gnome commands the towering man to sit down before her. She then begins to bring various herbs and plants out of her bag, sometimes chewing them first in her mouth. She fusses over his minor injuries, placing the tinctures on his various abrasions. The over-all feeling of attention and care is a pleasant one as some of the minor irritations from healing wounds the big Shoanti and had largely been stoically ignoring are soothed with Ali's ministrations.
Once completed, putting pressure on his shoulders from her small hands, Ali indicates that the big ranger is to remain seated. Once again delving into her small bag of 'goodies' the Wild Druid begins drawing out various seemingly random items. A small feather, part of a shell, a twig that has a bright blue bark on it and several other oddities. The one thing the items have in common though is that they are all beautiful in their own unique way. As well, from the way the small wolf-woman lays them reverently out on a large stone nearby her it is obvious that they are all of great importance to her. Looking fondly at her treasured collection for a moment, Ali smiles, kisses Muchorak on the cheek and then begins twining a small portion of his hair in one long braid down the right side of his head. As she does she interweaves the various items in a fetching and artistic way. The entire time she also regales her pack-mate with a continues stream of words describing her experiences of the day and her eclectic way of perceiving them "...oooh! And Ali go in shop of false skins for two legs! And it So pretty pretty! Yes yes! So many many colors Ali see! Like when Ali dance in forest in Leaf Fall time! Ali try on many many false skins, some she like very much yes yes but some she no like at all no no. She almost have to bite pretty boy fingers! hee hee hee! There be a woman there who think she prettier than Kallie but Kallie be the prettiest Ali say. Oh! And Ali see Big Den Mother too! Her hair like sun, like little round shinees pack leaders of town give us. Pretty pretty hair yes yes. You think maybe she have more wolf cub two-legs like Ali? Oooh! And then..."
As she finishes the braid Ali continues generally grooming Big Bear picking out little nicks or picks in his hair or clothing and etc. Eventually, as her story winds down she sighs, changes into wolf form and curls up once again in Big Bears lap, simply enjoying the quiet beauty and majesty of their natural surroundings with him. Eventually, feeling completely content and safe, she falls into a light and pleasant afternoon forest nap.
Ali is completely overwhelmed and overjoyed at the generosity and friendship of her new free-en...friends. She is very glad she finally came out of the forest to explore this strange two-leg town... Thanks Guys!

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Muchorak graciously accepts the healing from Wolfspirit and sees the grooming more of the Spirit world fully accepting him. He finds his center in this clearing, even during Wolfspirits excited talk and he finds himself at the end of it all enjoying a nap with Wolfspirit in this glen.
He dreams of the Totem that eludes him, but he can see more of the shadow now...he is closer to finding that part of him...soon he will be a true warrior of his tribe...

She would suggest some Shoanti-style designs, but she wouldn't want to offend him, or Muchorak for that matter!

Romon |

Shopping Crew** spoiler omitted **
Shopping Crew and Wellard:
Romon considers Kallie's suggestions. "A robe like that would be great fot Inikai, Kallie. Why don't you inquire with Rynshinn? If she doesn't have anything in stock, maybe you can draw something up. I'll wait out here."
"Not clothes for Muchorak. He wouldn't care a whit. Something he can use would be better. Maybe a fine short sword to go with that new longsword he's packing?"
"Same for Marak. He's a pretty dry orange. Something stuffy and scholarly would please him best. Something about Thessaloninia?"
The big blue robe with spell component pockets is great for Inikai. I like the RP possiblities. Not clothes for Muchorak, Masterwork Short Sword. It's the gift that will keep on giving and something he'll really dig. And Romon is willing to bear much of the cost. Wellard can we find such a weapon at the local Armory? Book or map for Marak would be very in-character too, and Wellard could use it to feed us info if required.

Alisebett |

Hey all, this is just a suggestion but, since only a few of us are still involved in the shopping, maybe we could have them going on concurrently in the spoilers and for the benefit of the rest of the team, continue on with the main mission in the regular IC? Also, from this point on, if Romon and Kallie are going to continue on the shopping mission, since Ali's now in the forest with Muchorak, unless specifically addressed, I won't be reading any more of the shopping crew spoilers as I'll be assuming that Ali is not there. Ali still supports all the ideas in Spirt though! ;-)

Kaliciel |

Shopping Crew:
Kallie explained the new order for Inikai's clothing to Rynshinn before leaving to visit the Feathered Serpent. She was excited to be visiting the strange shop. She had never dared to go inside alone before...
It kind of sounds like the exact kind of place Kallie would gravitate towards, but if it's a genuinely creepy place, she wouldn't be in the habit of going alone. ;) How strange is the owner, exactly?

![]() |

I see no problem with continuing the shopping thread in spoilers and running it alongside the main adventure. Will everyone note their new equipment and changes in cash in their profiles please
SHOPPING CREW
MAIN STORY
The party spends a couple of days outfitting for a wilderness trek even though Thistletop is not horribly far from Sandpoint(In some ways it is disturbingly close)
Assembling outside the town hall you meet Shalelu who will be accompanying you for this expodition

Kaliciel |

MAIN STORY
Kallie tried to look calm and prepared for the journey, uncomfortable though she was with the pack on her back. Even if it wasn't that far, it was still further from home than she had ever been before. The realization of that and knowing all of the others were far more well-travelled was humbling and embarrassing. Gods, just remember not to panic the first time you see a deer. Or a bear.
She was looking nervously at Inikai again. She had to talk to him sooner than later. She just hoped he wouldn't laugh. Or think she was mad.
SHOPPING CREW
"Mister Voon! I'm trying to find something for a friend! Do you have any books about Thassilonia? Like, really old books?"
She'll look to see if there are any other wares that she thinks would be of interest to the party as well. She has money she's willing to throw around. ;)
Kallie didn't bother to put up a cool front before her fellow townspeople. Not the ones who knew her at least. Most of them knew her as the easily-excitable girl who dressed strangely anyway.
Wellard:
Kallie's orders are going to take as long to finish as Romon's right?

Alisebett |

Ali, very happy in her colourful new clothes which still help her blend in with the wilderness (assuming they do?), 'special healy belt' and her new 'sneaky jumpy shoes' is a bundle of enegy and excitement. Not only is she thrilled at the prospect of being back out it the "Land", she is also very eager for the chance to 'kill'um some nasty Goblins'.
She fidgets and prances about and is obviously more than ready to leave. When the party is ready, she will without thinking flow into wolf form and take the lead with Shaleou, whom she, even though she doesn't know and has barely spoken to her, likes.

Romon |

Pool Day Shopping Crew:
Market Day: (spoilered for space, and perhaps lack of interest) [spoiler]His purchase complete, Romon turns from the silversheen vendor looking for Inikai. He quickly steps back into the shadowed interior of the stall. Was that Black Tom? (An acquaintance of Romon's from Magnimar.) Unsure of who he's seen, if they've been watching, or for how long, Romon adjusts his hat and turns the other way when he leaves the stall. He strides purposefully through the market, stopping occasionally to examine a vendor's wares and his back-trail. Departing the market he takes a circuitous route through town, making sure he is not followed.
For the next few days, Romon lies low. He takes a second room at the inn. He takes his meals and sleeps in that room, while watching the empty first room. He buys his gear for the expedition during short trips out in the early hours of the day.
On the morning of the expedition, Romon arrives at the rendevous with bags under his eyes and an impossibly large pack. He must have 70 pounds of stuff strapped to his back.
"Ahh. A few nights out camping. Just the thing for good health! " His bonhomie is noticeably forced.
Wellard, I've added the important gear to Romon's sheet. I sstill need to buy a bunch of mundane junk. The poor boy has made the classic tenderfoot mistake and way overloaded himself.

DM Wellard |

Kallie
Voon moves around the shop shifting piles of eclectic junk whilst you gaze around...a number of items catch your eye including a dusty old and quite garish hat..a pot of what appears to be glue...a beaded headband ..some leather bracers..a prism shaped stone of a dusty rose hue..an ornate and impractical looking silver helmet(with rams horns no less) and a ragged looking plain cotton robe
Voon eventually finds what he is after "I believe this should suffice...a basic history of Thassilon..of course much is speculation and conjecture after so many centuries but it should help...and for you my dear..a special price of only 60 gold(the book will add +2 to knowledge (history) with regards to Thassilon..basically its the Thassilon article from Pathfinder 1)

Her eyes widening in surprise at the giant pack on Romon's back and then looking in comparison at her own almost completely possessionless self. Ali then points and bursts out in giggles saying "You like turtle! You bring you house on you back! hee hee hee. Ali call you Turtle now. You funny yes yes. You funny funny!" and she continues to have a genuine good hearted laugh at poor Romon's expense. It is obvious though she means no insult to him but just finds the matter very amusing.
If the party ends up standing around waiting much longer, she will eventually approach Romon with great curiosity in her eyes asking "What you have in you home there Turtle? So many many things you have! yes yes! hee hee." And she will begin to try and peek and poke her way inside his pack...

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Seeing Romon's bag and hearing Wolfspirits delite in it, "You will not be needing most things you have brought." Muchorak turns to Shalelu then back to Romon, "You are aware we are not traveling far?"

While waiting for the others, Roman shrugs his pack to the ground with a relieved sigh. Hanging outside the pack and easily visible are a huge, extra fluffy looking bedroll, an iron pot, a clay jug in a net bag, and some leather sacks with many odd sharp-angled protuberances. While Romon is willing to suffer Ali's curiousity, he stills tries to protect his pack from the most intrusive of her investigations. He is not sure he'll be able to get it back together if she delves to deeply.
Seeing Romon's bag and hearing Wolfspirits delite in it, "You will not be needing most things you have brought." Muchorak turns to Shalelu then back to Romon, "You are aware we are not traveling far?"
Muchorak's words take a little of the swagger out of Roman's manner. He had imagined himself suitably well-prepared for any contingency. The Shoanti's criticism leaves him a little mystified, slightly worried that more experienced traveller is right and he looks foolish, and mildly chuffed. Nevertheless, he smiles to himself. We'll see how you feel in a few moments, big man. There are many forms of revenge....
When Kallie arrives, Romon tries to catch her and Ali's eye for a quick private chat.
SHOPPING CREW
"Ali, we've found gifts for our friends.
"I found a sword for Muchorak. It's a little lighter than mine, but the weight is farther out so it will pack more punch and the edge will split hairs. I'd really like to present it to him myself on behalf of us all. Kallie, did you find something for Marak? What about the coat for Inikai?"
Wellard, could we get Inikai's coat in time or will it be ready after our return to Sandpoint?
The complete list of Romon's camping gear is in his profile under equipment. The spiky bags are the caltrops. Almost 150 pounds total load. Heavy load. Feel free to poke and criticize.

Kaliciel |

Wellard:
When Voon produced the book, she exclaimed, "That's perfect!" as she flipped through it herself before remembering whose gift it was. "Ahem...yes, I'll take it! And I'll be coming back soon for more, I think!" She gave the helmet another glance...
"Say...how much are the bracers and the headband?" Shoanti are big on beads, right? She couldn't help but wonder if it would help her awkward standing with Muchorak.
Shopping Crew(and Wellard):
More coming, sorry. I'm in a bit of a rush today. :(

Shalelu arrives on the scene ready for the days travel. She raises a somewhat sardonic eyebrow at Romons pack but says nothing merely exchanging an amused look with Muchorak. You notice that she carries just a small haversack apart from her weapons and armour.
It's a beautiful, day the sun shines down from a clear blue sky and it is obviously going to be a scorcher
waiting for Marak and Inikai...and yes the evil DM has made things even worse for Romon the Turtle

Inikai |

Inikai arrives with minimal possessions. He looks as if he is about to say something but comes up short when he notices Romon. After a long pause he says: "Uh, I'm ready." For a moment he looks as if he is about to say more but is lost for words.

![]() |

Marak arrives with his shiny new magic backpack, which hangs limply off of his shoulder, filled with, uh, very little.
He smiles at the sight of his companions, and mutters a small prayer to Nethys to lead them to new knowledge, gripping his two-faced holy symbol as he does so.

Romon |

waiting for Marak and Inikai...and yes the evil DM has made things even worse for Romon the Turtle
Thanks, Wellard. Fortunately, by offloading some stuff I can partially spoil your evil plain to make Romon sweaty and his hair frizz out.
Romon talks with Kallie and Ali for a few minutes while slipping something out of his bedroll.
Shopping Crew Mini-con:
Romon steps away from the conference with Kallie and Ali to address the entire party. "Before we depart on this vital life-saving mission. (Vital to my life maybe.) I'd like to say a few words.
"The ladies and I did some shopping and some thinking. We're agreed that our current prosperity is due to the efforts of everyone here and that we wanted to share some of our good fortune with those who have helped make it possible. So we bought presents for the three of you. (~indicates Inikai, Marak, and Muchorak.~)
"On behalf of Alisebett, Kalaciel, and my humble self, indeed, on behalf of the town of Sandpoint, I present to you, Muchorak, in token of your bravery and courage, this blade, work of the finest craftsmen to wear in honor and service." Romon steps steadily toward Muchorak as he runs through his speech while sliding a shortsword with scabbard from behind his back. He ends the speech standing directly in front of the Shoanti with both his arms extended, the sword resting on his open palms.
Muchorak:

DM Wellard |

"Ahh good we are all here" says Shalelu stating the obvious "Lets get moving..we have a ways to go but we should make good time..well I hope we will" she gives Romon's pack another wry look.
"With luck we won't run into any goblins..it's much too hot and bright a day" she squints at the sky.."and it can only get hotter"

Alisebett |

As soon as the group starts moving, Ali flows to wolf form and beings padding along beside Shaelu,. Soon though, ecstatic to once again be ranging in her 'home', she naturally beings to slowly lope ahead, constantly sniffing the air and looking about for any hints of trouble or anything interesting. She never moves out of eyesight or earshot though.

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Muchorak carefully takes the Shortsword from Romon his careful movements acknowledging it as a gift. He takes a few steps back and with quick reflexes unsheaths the blade, practices a few swings with the blade testing its balance and returns the blade to its sheath, bowing slightly to Romon and the others his way of thanking them for the gift.
Muchorak offloads his pack and secures his old Shortsword to it and places the other on his weapon belt, places his pack back on, "This blade will see Goblin blood this day."

Kaliciel |

Sorry for the delay guys. Grr, month end.
Romon, Shopping crew:
Kallie's eyes widened at the prices. "I'm afraid I'll have to pass for today then... But I will be back for more! Thanks!" She gave the horned helmet one last parting, longing glance before leaving.
It was probably too heavy anyway....but if I could find someone to rework it....
Kallie was squinting in the sunlight. The heat didn't agree with her, or at least she certainly didn't agree with it.
She stepped forward towards Inikai and Marak, noting what Muchorak's gift seemed to go over well. He wants to kill something with it already. I guess that's "happy" for a Shoanti from the Cinderlands?
She gave Inikai an apologetic look and shrug. "I'm afraid your's is still coming, Inikai. Probably when we get back?" She winced as she said it. She hoped they wouldn't be gone that long. I'll be happy if we actually make it back!
She held out an old leather-bound tome in both hands for Marak. "For your scholarly pursuits." she said with a smile uncharacteristic to those who didn't know her well.

As Romon stands there holding the sword he has two thoughts, one following the other so closely that they are nearly simultaneous. That sounded pretty good ;the lord mayor couldn't have done better. And I could have gotten the town to pay for the sword with just that pitch.
As Muchorak takes the sword, Romon's hands follow the blade nearly imperceptibly, as if reluctant to relinquish the blade. Romon remains impassive, but inwardly wonders at the barbarian's lack of apparent gratitude. Still, despite his misgivings, the Shoanti's acceptance is a source of satisfaction. Romon was apprehensive that Muchorak might find fault with the sword.
***
As they start out on the trail Romon falls in beside Inikai. "Sorry yours wasn't ready, but custom orders take time. It will be worth it."

Twenty minutes later Romon is sweating heavily and swearing -- that he is fine.

She held out an old leather-bound tome in both hands for Marak. "For your scholarly pursuits." she said with a smile uncharacteristic to those who didn't know her well.
Marak looks puzzled at first by the display of the sword to Muchorak, even perhaps a bit amused. At the presentation of the tome from Kallie, he appears flabbergasted.
"I... Uh, thank you. Thank you very much! This is most thoughtful of you." he stammers, as he sneaks a peek between the covers and his eyes widen. "Most thoughtful, indeed!"
He keeps trying to sneak peeks at the book while walking, and ends up having to discipline himself and put the book in his pack, so as not to risk walking off a cliff in his distraction...
Of course, I don't have any of the RotR stuff, so I'll have no idea what cool things Marak will be reading!

DM Wellard |

You pass through the gates and head outalong the coast road . The way runs directly along the coast for the first two miles following the clifftops below the peaks of Ravenroost before swinging inland to avoid Shanks Wood. To the south lies the Tickwood aptly named for the giant versions of that nefarious insect which haunt it.
After passing the woods the road rises steeply as it passes between the paupers Graves to the North and Leb's tors to the South..the landscape changes to moorland and then the road plunges down again into the valley of the Thistle River which it crosses on a well msde if ancient bridge.
The whole trip is some six miles...and should take two hours. Thistletop sits at the rivers moth about a mile and a half away to the North through the tangles of the Nettlewood

Kaliciel |

Despite her apprehension about venturing so far from home, Kallie felt excited as well, and after seeing so many of the sights so close to Sandpoint that she had never seen before she wondered why she had taken so long to do so. She was gawking like a tourist in her own homeland before she remembered herself and tried to keep her eyes forward and her mind on the task at hand.
Her legs ached from the hike. She was suddenly painfully aware that Rynshinn knew what she was talking about when it came to heels. She looked at the others and kept her complaints silent. It wouldn't do to whine in front of people used to this sort of travel. Where Ali and Muchorak had always made her just a bit nervous before, she was thankful and comforted by their presence out here in the wilderness.

Inikai |

Sorry about not posting lately, real life has been intrusive.
Inikai is taken aback at the very gestures of the shopping crew to the others. When he is informed that something will be waiting for him he blushes a bit and smiles broadly before thanking them with some embarassment."I could stand to learn something from them all. Such gestures of generosity and friendship!",he thinks to himself.
On the road to Thistletop Inikai remembers the few trips that he has taken on this road. The thought of the Tickwood calls forth his boyhood dread of the blood-sucking horrors within its confines."Better a goblin hoard than even a footstep into those trees", he mutters under his breath.

Alisebett |

Wellard, Ali will be constantly looking and sniffing for dangers, using her survival skill etc. I am fine with you to roll any necessary unless you want me to?

Kaliciel |

As they drew closer, Kallie's worries pressed back to the front of her mind. She hesitantly asked, "So...how are we going to approach them? Are we going to try and sneak in under the cover of night?" She glanced at Shalelu, Muchorak, and Ali. "Are some of us going to scout ahead?"
She tried to phrase the questions as if they were rhetorical, as if she actually had a clue on how to raid an enemy camp. The truth was she was just realizing how completely ignorant she was on such matters.

DM Wellard |

Shalelu gives Kallie an indulgent smile.
"Night is when Goblins are at their best..no we hit them in daylight when we have the advantage..add to that the element of surprise and things should be..easier..not easy it's never easy."
The outdors types range a round for a bit finally discovering a track that seems to have had heavy use by the Goblins...

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Noting the tracks and looking at Shalelu and Wolfspirit, "We should keep ahead of the group to scout." Muchorak looks at the others, "Try to keep as silent as you can, surprising them is our best advantage."
Wellard if the group agrees to this I've got no issues with you rolling the stealth and tracking checks

Romon |

Romon looks at the narrow track and considers the width and breadth of his backpack. He doesn't relish the idea of trying to squeeze the pack down that trail, or the idea of getting caught by a goblin patrol while wearing it. "How far are we from Thistletop? Should we set up a camp off the trail near here or closer to the goblins?"

DM Wellard |

Shalelu looks at the half elf..her eyes still filled with amusement but also with some respect for his not having faltered by the wayside or indeed having ditched any of his equipment
"It's a mile or so to the coast and the rivers mouth..maybe a little more..we can make it quickly if we leave all non essential items behind us. I can hide whatever we leave well enough that it wont be found easily"

Romon |

Romon nods gratefully at Shalelu's words. He quickly strips off the pack. And empties it of the heavier items and trail rations.
"Maybe we should grab a quick bite before we go further?"
Consider Romon down to his "combat weight".
