Kaliciel |

Kallie slowed her pace, whispering words of power under her breath, her fingers twitching and ready to hurl her magical darts as soon as she saw the goblin again.
If the goblin is within view, Kallie is casting Magic Missile!
Damage(missile 1):5
Damage(missile 2):3

Marak steps forward again to within 15 ft. of the Goblin, and his longsword rockets forward from his hand to stab at the creature.
17 to hit (not counting any penalties for the terrain), 10 damage.

Romon |

A double move for Romon takes him to about 5 feet from the fight and out of the area of the entangle
OK..Ali still has to make her round 2 action..but the rest of you can either move into melee or shoot from range on round 3.
Romon fights his way clear of the brambles, and sighting down the length of his shortsword, plunges toward the goblin.
try to flank with Ali if possible
1d20 +2 to hit +2 strength -4 cramped
12+0 = 12 (14 with flanking bonus)1d6+2
6+2 = 8 (normal damage)1d6
4 (extra damage if flanking )
Wellard, I thought the first quote was the result of Romon's first round action (double move). But now I'm a little confused. Will his attack come in round 2 or 3?

DM Wellard |

was waiting for ali to post round two..as usual everyone jumped the gun on round 3
ROUND TWO
As the majority of the party continue to close on the vcombat
Ali and Romon engage the goblin. Ali tastes blood as her jaws clamp onto the foul little creatures leg[5 damage]Romon misses but is in a perfect position to strike
The goblin in return almost drops his weapon

DM Wellard |

Romon 23
Ali 20
Muchorak 20
Shalelu 20
Goblin 15
Inakai 14
Marak 13
Kallie 10
ROUND 3 [apologies to Romon but your actions are obvious]
Romons Short sword finds the goblins vitals even through the strangely barklike armour that encases it.[critical hit plus sneak attack damage 16 points]
Alis teeth clamp onto the beast once more[5 damage]
Murchorak barrels into the fight his long sword flashes and the goblin lifts it's head in pain only to go down as Shalelu punches an arrow though it's eye.
With the goblins death the entangling plants sink back into the ground

Romon |

ROUND 3 [apologies to Romon but your actions are obvious]
Romons Short sword finds the goblins vitals even through the strangely barklike armour that encases it.[critical hit plus sneak attack damage 16 points]
No apologies needed. You can roll for me every day.
Romon stabs the dead goblin again to make sure he's permanent;y deceased. "Thought I'd save you the trouble this time," he tells Marak.
Then he wipes off his blade and sheaths it. "Tough little bugger. Are they all so thick-skinned?"

Alisebett |

Ali scents the air, to see if she can smell any more goblins or anything else. Then flows back to Gnome form, looking somewhat sadly down at the old Druid while she shares her findings with her friends.

Kaliciel |

Kallie winced at the sight of Romon stabbing the goblin's corpse. She knew in her head that it was necessary to be sure, but...
"At least he didn't warn the others." she replied to Muchorak's worrying question, though there was a hint of uncertainty towards the end. She prayed he hadn't been able to "magick" a warning to the other goblins.
She found herself reaching down to pat Ali on the shoulder confortingly, more than a bit surprised at the gnome's reaction to another goblin's death. Maybe she isn't that feral after all...
"We'd better hurry..."
Ready to keep moving when everyone else is! :)

Without looting the corpse first?! For shame!

DM Wellard |

There are no fresh scents in the air
A search of the goblins body reveals 4 full potion vials(and 2 empty ones)a wand(twisted and gnarled hawthorn)His armour and cloak are inscribed with mystical symbols..he bears a spear and a sling..the magical flaming blade vanished upon his death
you identify the wand as being one of produce flame with 34 charges, the cloak is one of resistance +1 His armour is Leather +1 but will only fit Ali(and isn't very clean)two of the potions are speak with animals..you can't identify the other two(possibly poison of some sort)

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Muchorak keeps on the alert as the goblin is searched and his items identified. He looks to Wolfspirit "Which way to the bridge?"
Do we want to divy up the items as we come across them or wait till we recoup in town?

Romon |

Sorry about not using my avatar above. There's some useful stuff in that haul. We should probably divvy it up now and get some use out of it.
Romon straightens up from searching the body. Nothing here for me. "Let's get moving."

Alisebett |

Ali may(?) be the only one able to use the wand, but she won't have anything whatsoever to do with a magic device that produces fire and if she is told what it does, she will look on it Extremely disapprovingly and will kick the Goblin Druid corpse saying "You no friend of Land! You is Trickster!" (I should have had her con to that much earlier as soon as the Druid used fire. Lapse in steady character play that). She may be able to convinced to use the armor, but certainly not now, and not until it was cleaned. Very throughly. Several times. The Speak with Animals she has no need of at all. Cheers!
Consulting with Shelalu, Ali picks what she thinks to be the best route to the bridge and leads her friends there in wolf form, nose and eyes and ears constantly on the lookout for danger.

"Shall we throw this stuff in a pack and move on? In the middle of enemy territory is no place to disburse gear."
Barring any objections, Marak reaches into his Haversack and pulls out a bedroll, which he unfolds and uses to wrap up the loose items. He rolls the bedroll around the items and shoves the entire thing back into his Haversack.
Marak updated to the new PFRPG rules.

DM Wellard |

can the rest of you update as needed...there shouldn't be too much to do as you were generally beta characters anyway.Kallie will have small changes in her bloodline(and she can use the wand of produce flame)
A rope bridge spans the gulf between the cliff and a roundish, flat topped island sixty some feet to the north. Thick patches of nettles and briars grow here and there atop the island, but its most impressive feature is a wooden one-story stockade. Two thirty-foot-tall watchtowers guard the stockade’s southern facade. The rope bridge itself is made of hairy rope and thick wooden planks; the whole thing creaks and sways in the wind above the churning surf eighty feet below.

Alisebett |

Ali turns her snout back to her companions, looking to Big Bear and the others to see if there's anything they would like to do before crossing the bridge. When they seem ready, she will slowly lead them across it.

Romon |

Barring any objections, Marak reaches into his Haversack and pulls out a bedroll, which he unfolds and uses to wrap up the loose items. He rolls the bedroll around the items and shoves the entire thing back into his Haversack.
Romon watches the cleric of Nethys carefully. As Marak packs each item, Romon mentally inventories it. The cleric is probably trust-worthy, but the rogue has had too many partners who would help themselves to a larger share if not continually watched.
***
Faced with the bridge, Romon is cautious. No cover. We'll be in plain sight all the way. Only a fool would try to cross it in broad daylight.
"Maybe we should burn the bridge and starve them out."

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

"Starve them out?" Muchorak looks back at Romon, "Do you not see the sea around them?" Turning back to the others and the structure beyond...
Can Muchorak see any movement on the other side, either by the structure or on it? Perception D20 15+9= 24
If Muchorak sees nothing moving or any creatures on the otherside he suggests we move across in stealth with all do haste.

Alisebett |

Being completely oblivious to the idea of sieges, castle defenses or even fortresses in general, Ali the wolf tilts her head side to side in confusion then flows to Gnome saying "But we want go there, yes yes?" she says pointing at the Goblin Hideout "How we go if burn bridge?" looking at the water she adds uncertainly "We maybe swim now?"

DM Wellard |

Muchorak..

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Muchorak looks at the others, "We should cross one at a time, I will go first followed by Wolfspirit. It would be wise to leave a good archer for the last to cross."
Muchorak will cross the bridge with all due stealth and caution...Stealth D20 14+9 (or 11)= 23 (or 25)

Kaliciel |

Kallie looked at the others nervously, worried about the prospect of exposing themselves one by one. She knew there was at least some safety in numbers, and as much as it shamed her it frightened her not to have someone to take cover behind.
It'll be okay, it'll be okay...just run as fast as you can and as quietly as you can...
Sorry for the delay. I'll update as quickly as I can!(a friend is bringing a book home from Gencon!)

Alisebett |

Once Big Bear summons her, Ali moves across the bridge with all the stealth (1d20+11=20) she can muster. Once on the other side, remaining stealthy, without going out of sight she scouts around the area on the other side of the bridge, her senses (1d20+6=26) open for anything dangerous or out of the ordinary.

![]() |

Marak attempts to hang back, encouraging Roman or Shalelu to move on ahead, as he fears that his lack of stealth would only endanger the others.
Best to take up the rear, where his clumsiness will only endanger himself.

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Muchorak will search the immediate area for tracks, looking for type of track, amount and freshness...perhaps there is sentries???
Survival for Tracking D20 18+8 (or +10)= 26 (or 28)

Inikai |

Wellard, I don't have the final PFRPG rules. Would you give me a brief indication of what needs to be changed? Since binders are not OGL I doubt there will be any changes to class features.
Inikai looks over the side of the bridge to the water and remembers how great heights make him uncomfortable. "It would take so little to sever the ropes and send us to our deaths", he thinks. Then he chides himself for his fear and looks to his companions and their bravery.

Kaliciel |

Kallie's intent to go across the bridge as quickly as possible died as soon as she let herself look down. She had then slowed down, keeping a near death's grip on the ropes the rest of the way across. She couldn't hide her shaking once she set foot on solid ground.
"O-okay we made it..." she stammered, as if crossing the bridge was the hard part. She saw Muchorak's searching and Ali's sniffing, and stuck close to the others, not wanting to distract them. She was becoming increasingly worried about attacks from atop the stockade. "Gods, how many do you think are left?" she whispered to Inikai, Romon, and Marak.

Inikai |

"Gods, how many do you think are left?" she whispered to Inikai, Romon, and Marak.
"There is no way to tell. Whatever we do, we must make sure we face them only in small groups."
"Shalelu, are there any other paths off of this island?"
We will need some kind of distraction if we need to escape.

DM Wellard |

Muchorak spots something about the bridge..it seems it has been rigged to collapse if too much weight is put upon it..however there is a way to derig the trap and make the bridge safe foe all of you to cross at once if necessary.
the walls are about 20 feet high quite rough but scaleable with rope and grapple

Romon |

Romon would like to say something clever in reply to Kallie, but Inikai beats him to it. He settles for waiting a few moments before saying softly , "I thought we were going to fight some goblins. I didn't think we'd be storming a fort."
He settles himself in a bit of shade (if there is any) to wait until the leaders come up with a plan.
Crash the gate? over the wall? Fix the bridge first? I'm open to suggestion.

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

How long would it take to fix the bridge? If it is something that is done quickly Muchorak will fix it, but if it is something too time consuming he will point it out to the others.

Kaliciel |

"If there are more of them outside the battlement, I wonder...I wonder if storming through the gate and sealing it from the inside might be wise?" Kallie pondered, showing her lack of experience in matters of strategy. "We still have the element of surprise. Hopefully."
Assuming Muchorak tells us about the bridge:
Kallie felt sick in her stomach at the realization of how close they had come to hurtling into the sea below. Oh gods. If I ran all the way across I could have collaps.. She covered her mouth for a moment.
She eagerly agreed to help fix the bridge if needed. If they had to leave in a hurry, going one at a time might not be an option...

Alisebett |

While the others have been debating the next step, Ali has been nosing around, trying to track the scents, moving to both sides of the bridge but always remaining in sight of the group.

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Muchorak didn't see any of the tracks for such a patrol?
"Can we all climb?" Muchorak looks at the others, "If not we will have to find the entrance the goblins use."

![]() |

At Muchorak's question about climbing, Marak speaks up, quietly, "I am not at all experienced at climbing, so if we are going to go that route, it might be best to send those who are more familiar with that sort of activity to send down a rope for those of us who are untrained."
He stands pressed against the wall, so that any Goblin looking down will be less likely to see him. "In any event, we should move quickly, there could be a patrol here at any moment."

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Muchorak nods at Marak's comment and moves to Romon, "Can you climb the wall and brace your rope and hook for the others?"
How difficult is it to climb Wellard? Is it something we can take ten on?
