The dice have spoken.
All the soldiers charge in and murder Mansterveld. 6 harm AP. Because reasons.
Just kidding, of course. But I haven't received anything from him for a while now. Not sure if it's an internet access thing or not. So, for now, his fate is undecided.
Hylos however, is scott-free. Where are you going? What are you looking for?
A patch of skin flakes off the back of your hand and is whisked away by the breeze. Probably.

I chase after Hylos, insisting that they just failed the perimeter test and invoking the name of the man I sold the amulet to.
"I give up, I'm not even going to pretend to finish the test. You people are absolutely pathetic, not only did you allow two men to enter the building, but you just let one walk away with something. The 'he's got a bomb trick', really! is that all it takes [insert name] will be hearing of this."
I then walk past them confidently and continue to mutter to myself.

Mansterveld, what do you think the name of the Crown Prince is? If I like it you get a free XP. Either way, they are staring at you as you walk past, but don't pursue. The face of the guard you heart-attack'd is starting to turn black and splotchy.
Hylos you are currently within one of the inner courtyards. The wall is stone covered with elaborately carved wooden panels. Do you recognise any of the carvings? What's on them? Either way, the entire wall absolutely reeks of expensive magic made by expensive magicians. What do you do?

Just a quick question about the campaign, are you going for a joke not very serious campaign or a serious one?
If the first Crown Prince Leopold the CXIXth.
If the second Crown Prince Veterini the 1st.
or you could just pick your favorite and pull the old switcher-oo on me.
As soon as I am past and out of sight I follow Hylos, intending to ask why he was there, why he took the amulet I wanted a backsie for and why he sent me up a metaphorical creek of the rank persuasion without a means of propulsion.

You 110% are in Buckingham palace. All the guards teeth are suddenly considerably worse, and they all say "wot" and "chap" a lot.
Mansterveld, how serious are you in catching up to Hylos. Hylos, how the f$~! did you get in here? Want to Read a Sitch and take charge or let the MC have free reign, because you are pretty sure there's something coming down the ornate hallway. The padding footprints sound... Purple. And minty.
The Prince's name is Leopold the 1st. Sometimes known as "Prince Charming" by the Royalists, or "The Brat" by the rest of them.

Ahh yes, Leopold the first of his name. Named after his fathers favorite general, Leopold the bloodthirsty, son of Leopold the defiler. They say that Leopold [bloodthirsty] wore no armor to battle the better to feel the blood soak his skin, he bathed in it too until the king forbade it [it was rather hard on the nose]. He believed that it kept his skin young.
Nobody remembers which event exactly gave Leopold the defiler his name, there were several so called "rapes" of cities [one city had three], fourteen counts of desecration of holy buildings, two burnt palaces [only one was intentional] and when he was a boy he once soiled [or defiled if you will] his pants. It could have been any one of theses events that earned his name. it is often said that he was compensating for his father Leopold of many colours who liked to wear rainbow dresses, dance, had long hair that he ordered his servants to curl and never corrected anyone who mistook him for a woman.
Or am I thinking of other people entirely oh mighty Spwack.
Mansterveld is fairly serious about catching Hylos, although at the moment being far away from the soon to be purple man, and with someone not allied with said unfortunate is the stronger motive.

You duck around the corner and the... thing? Passes by you without remarking on your presence. What's this about a golden crown? Mansterveld, if you are serious in going after Hylos, he's going to either know you are coming unless you have a spell or want to do something nifty (i.e. dice related) to get a one up on him.

Mansterveld halts to think, he strokes his hamster beard and decides to continue following Hylos, however he also decides that attaking Hylos in this currant location would be foolish, he has just killed a guard, and looks like a hamster he needs allies not more enemies at this time. Instead he will approach openly, but with a due degree of caution and readiness. When and if the time comes.

I want to quickly pick up something and turn it into a business card with my name and number, then hand it to Mansterveld.
"Hey, the name is Hylos. best rated distractor and wrecker of grand plans. Recommended over three countries. If you wish to book an appointment, please call on a weekday between 10am and 5pm. in the mean time, what can i do for you?"

And I am Mansterveld, owner of a doctorate in something involving life. Experienced with magical accidents and skilled at fixing or breaking people who you want fixed or buried.
I would like to book that appointment for now in the palace. I wish to inquire as to the nature of that artifact.

Mansterveld draws himself up to his full height [still not that much] and grins. I assure you that if I was so inclined I could match any reasonable price you can ask for in gold, or with my own modest skills.

I smile slightly, then reach over to tap my business card and turn it into iron pyrite.
"Money tends to..... come and go. But favors and unusual trinkets are certainly accepted by me. What exactly can you do..... doctor?"

"So basically I'm getting the hocus-pocus version of free health care... I'll take it. You get to have a look at the amulet once we get out of this palace."
I want to look around the room for all possible exits, or walls that seem to in-between me and somewhere not inside
