I've put in a question to John Reyst as to why it's not entirely up on the SRD. He has parts of it, but not all of it.

How about a magus, that travels the world working as an assassin.

So I'm thinking a LE Peri-blooded Aasimar Investigator with the Mastermind archetype. Basic concept is a master manipulator who's not above getting his own hands dirty if his minions can't get the job done right. He pretty much wants to replace the current system because he believes that if he were in charge things would be better (and they would!). Crime would probably be sedition since he's too tricky to actually get caught for high treason.

Included below is the Mastermind Archetype from the Advanced Class Guide as it is not currently on d20pfsrd or the PRD.

Mastermind Archetype:

A Quiet Word:
A mastermind's reputation precedes him. At 1st level, once per day a mastermind can spend 10 minutes preparing an ally to make a single Diplomacy or Intimidate check (mastermind's choice when preparing the ally) within the next 24-hour period at the mastermind's behest. This skill check uses the mastermind's skill ranks instead of the ally's. The mastermind's affected ally still uses its own ability bonus for the check.

Furthermore, when a mastermind uses this ability, he can expend one use of inspiration to give the ally use of the inspiration die when making the check.

At 3rd level, a mastermind can use this ability an additional time each day, and the number of times he can use this ability per day increases by 1 for every third level thereafter. Multiple uses of this ability on the same ally grant that ally the benefit on additional Diplomacy or Intimidate checks.

At 12th level, a mastermind can use this ability to bestow on his ally the use of his skill ranks, similar to the 1st-level effects of this ability but with a wider range of skills to choose from. The mastermind can only bestow this for a skill check that he can use inspiration on without expending uses of inspiration. For instance, a mastermind with the underworld inspiration talent can bolster his ally's Bluff, Disable Device, Disguise, or Sleight of Hand skill checks, selecting a single skill for each use of the ability. This ability replaces trapfinding and trap sense.

Mastermind Defense
At 4th level, a mastermind can, as an immediate action, expend two uses of inspiration to make an inspired defense. He rolls his inspiration die and applies the result as a penalty on an attack roll made against him. If the mastermind has the combat inspiration talent, he can expend one use of inspiration instead of two. This ability replaces swift alchemy.

Impregnable Mind
At 9th level, a mastermind's secrecy, obscurity, and mental conditioning reach superhuman levels. He becomes immune to any divination spell, spell-like ability, or effect that allows a saving throw (though he can still allow a divination effect to affect him if he wishes). Even divination effects that do not allow a saving throw have difficulty piercing a mastermind's barriers, as a mastermind can now choose to think in any language he speaks. Unless the opponent reading a mastermind's thoughts speaks all of the mastermind's languages, attempts at thought reading automatically fail. This ability replaces the investigator talent gained at 9th level.

repost: If it isn't on d20pfsrd.com or the SRD then it's vetoed. For my own ease of reference. :( Sorry.

p.s. An Aasimar is going to be my honest to goodness last pick for a player pc race. I don't want evil 'angel-like' PCs in this game.

So I thought I would through my character into the mix if there is still a chance :D

Milo Underfoot The Halfling Barbarian.

Description:
Milo is a short little man, standing 3 foot and 1 inch high. He has a mop of bright red hair and dark green eyes. Milo has nice, handsome face.. or at least he would, if it were not for the constant look of distaste. One of the only times he does not look irritated, is during battle. It is there that he gains a grand ruthless smile. Milo hold himself very upright with perfect posture; slouching would be unbecoming of him. He generally wears a green tunic and carries a large sword, but for now, he is garbed in rags.

Personality:
Archetypes: An "Ends-Justifies-the-Means" Visionary
Traits: Arrogant, Cold, Impatient, Loyal to his allies.

When people thing of Milo, a few words spring to mind: Arrogant, Cold, Napoleonic Complex... The list goes on and on. Milo, on the other hand, has a different way of looking at it. Milo, on the other hand, views himself a bit differently. To him, he isn't arrogant; he just does not have time for the 'lessers.' To him, he's not cold; he is just too busy focusing on his next goal to give people proper acknowledgement. And as for the Napoleonic Complex? Piss off! He isn't short! His size is... perfectly ...normal for a halfling his age.

While Milo's end goals may not be sinister, his execution of them is ruthless and downright terrible. He cares little for casualties, as long as it gets him closer to his end goal. As long as his end goal is worth the cost he will keep striving to get it. And considering how little worth most people are to him, the end is generally worth the price. Now this is not to say that Milo has such blatant disregard for everybody. Once a person has earned Milo's respect, they gain a loyal friend and companion.

Background:
Milo was born and raised in a small halfling town near the Three Pines Ford. His father, Lem Underough, worked their own personal field while Milo's mother, Marra Underough, spent her time attempting to write the next big book series. Milo went to school with the local youths and set a fine example for the rest of the students. Things at their home were as normal and happy as any Halfling's life could be. That was, until, Milo began to mature.

As Milo grew older, he realized better and more.. efficient ways of dealing with his problems. Jamir Flafflebottem was the school's local bully. While most kids hated him, Jamir had the fortunate knack to wrap any adult around his finger. He would terrorize the youngins day after day and get away with it nearly every time. This was until the day he decided to pick on Milo. Months later, when Jamir finally recovered enough to leave the hospital, he was a changed man. Skittish? Yes. Twitchy? Slightly. A bully? Not any more! To Milo, he took the fastest action to stop the school's bullying problem and he was fairly proud of himself. To the rest of the town? They had discovered a monster in the making. After repeated.. disagreements ..with the local townsfolk, Milo grew sick of their feeble attitudes, their unwillingness to take the proper actions, and their overall naivety. He left at the young age of 17 and never looked back.

Flash forward 11 years, Milo works as the lead guard in one of the better sectors of Vigil. While many people have complained about his unusually strict method of keeping the order in his area, nobody can argue with his results. He still remembers how bad the area was when it was first placed under his jurisdiction. In fact, he was pretty sure he got the job because the last lead guard was assassinated. He kept the job for 5 long years, slowly cleaning the streets and righting (what he believed to be) the wrongs. But while he was there, he started to notice small things: banning of religions, trade embargoes, and protesters being hushed. It was then that Milo pieced it together, the government of the land was slowly eroding at the people's rights! This spurred Milo into action. He began offering a different set of punishments to the people he apprehended: information gathering. Milo started to build up a network of spies to keep a watch on the so called wonderful Watcher-Lord. It was though them that he met up with another rebel in his cause, the half-orc, Talyon Carpenter. Milo needed Talyon's amazing charisma to build up a force large enough to inspire change in the system. When Talyon suggested an attack upon one of the nearby temples of Iomedae, Milo jumped at the chance to give the rulers a much needed wake-up call.

The Crime:
"Alright... wait for the signal," Milo whispered through clenched teeth. A glance to his left showed him the young human thief, Chris. Chris was a small pale kid with greasy brown hair and dull brown eyes. On his person, he carried a small crowbar and a large dagger. To Milo's right crouched the half-elven follower of Asmodeus, Zirul. His spiky blonde hair seemed to crackle as he gave Milo a nod. He carried the buckets of red paint. They huddle around the corner, eying up the temple.
Thum.. Thum.. THUM! As the vibrations of the drum shake the area, Chris bolts off towards the temple door, with Milo and Zirul close behind. The thief reaches the door pulls out the crowbar, pries back part of the lock, and clicks the release with the dagger. The door crashes open and Milo bursts into the room. To his left, rows of benches filled with nobodies. To his right, the podium with a priest and two guards.

Milo yells to Chris, "I'll handle the guards! Grab everything!" To Zirul, "Desecrate! GO, GO, GO!"

The halfling turns and charges at the holy man, unsheathing his great sword. The guards brace for impact, ready to defend the priest with their lives. As Milo draws near the first guard, the man takes his axe and swings straight for the halfling's head. Milo waits until the last second before dropping to the floor, skidding under the arc. "FOR THE ORDER!" he yells, using his momentum to jump up and impale the priest though the ribs. He kicks the legs out from under the man and uses the falling body's momentum to yank himself out of the reach of the second guard's mace. Milo lands, gives his sword a massive shake to remove the corpse, and dives wildly to the left, at the floor. The guard, stunned by the halfling's seemingly random movements, hesitates just long enough for Milo to finish the dive by slamming his sword into the floor, pushing off of the hilt, and lunging straight at the guard. In air, he twists wildly, snapping his right arm around to cause his momentum to launch the sword around in a large arc. The man falls back, with a gaping slash across his torso. Milo lands facing the last guard, whips his sword in front of him, and sprints at the man. He plants his right foot into the floor and begins to swing with all of his might.. only to watch his swing wildly miss, as he slips in the priest's pooling blood. He glances up as the last guard raises his mace high into the air and brings it down in a perfect arc. Milo lifts an arm and braces for impact... he holds the position for a second before realizing something is off. He opens his eyes to the horrified face of a very still guard. Milo pushes him aside to reveal Zirul standing a few paces off.

"We've spent far too much time here. The rest of the town will be here any second." Zirul says lowering his smoking hand.

"You're right, lets go." Milo picks himself up, grabs his sword, and sprints for the door. He yanks it open and with a nod to Zirul, "Thanks," before running off into the street.

Milo and company exit right as the remainder of the guards converge on the scene. With a chorus of yells, a group splits off and begins to chase them. As Milo turns to sprint away, he hears the faint sounds of an arrest being made, "...immediately, where you will face death by beheading in three days time." Milo's eyes snap focused to the figure being dragged out of the other side of the temple, a tall half-orc.

"Blast it, Carpenter!!" Milo screams in frustration. He turns back to his two followers, "Run! Now! Get back to the hideout!"
As they sprint off, with out a second glance to the halfling, Milo turns to face the soldiers. "Welp," he sighs to himself. "Lets see if I can free myself a half-orc." He lifts his weapon and charges into the waiting line of men.

Milo to a member of his treasonous guild wrote:
"I'm telling you, that is how it works. First, they ban something inconsequential, just to start off the process. Then, they take away something 'for the good of the people', that would be the recent ban on the Asmodeus religion. Next thing you know, they have everybody under their thumbs and no one will do anything about it at that point because they are too afraid to think."

Milo was a character I had made for another PBP Way of the Wicked Campaign. However, the GM disappeared after a only a few postings. We got as far as the second combat encounter. He was originally going to take the Desecration Trait and take the titan mauler class to wield a normal greatsword. While there has been a rules change disallowing this, I would ether like to ignore that (and use a normal greatsword instead of a small) or I'd like to make a dual-wielding halfling or ... something xD I am not sure exactly on the mechanics for him, just the personality and character. If you have any questions on him, or anything in his backstory/anything just let me know!

p.s. An Aasimar is going to be my honest to goodness last pick for a player pc race. I don't want evil 'angel-like' PCs in this game.

Correction: between when I checked last night and now the Mastermind archetype has been added to d20pfsrd. As near as I can tell d20pfsrd is still in the process of adding all the content from the Advanced Class Guide, so any archetypes or feats from that book may not be immediately available but should be within a week or two tops.

Re. Aasimar: I'm not super tied to the race, I thought that the concept of a character who appeared physically to be blessed by good gods that was irredeemably evil would be an interesting hook to play with and the Peri-blooded Aasimar have it in their background that they have a greater tendency to be evil than other types of Aasimar (due to Peris being the redeemed descendants of fallen angels).
Since it's pretty much a no-go, race will be human instead.

Mastermind is probably fine, but Aasimar i'm not to thrilled with as a race for this still. Even acknowledging that they can most certainly BE evil. They're a bit high on the RP meter at 15 too, I would avoid them as I will probably skip any entries that are Aasimar.

I submit Surian Sorcuse, the Pit-Touched Samsaran Sorcerer. In every life he returns to the service of the Prince of Darkness, and after every life he shall return to do so again.

Cool. Here's a revised submission then:

Bealde, LE male Human Investigator (Mastermind).

Concept:
Bealde is a master manipulator, a man with complete certainty that the actions he takes (or orders taken) are going to make the world a better place regardless of what those fools opposing him think. He truly believes that Talingarde would be a much better place if he (or someone very much like him) were in charge and he is unafraid to take whatever actions needed to ensure the conversion of the land to his vision of an Asmodean paradise of the strong ruling the weak.

Play/crunch notes:
Stat-wise high on Int and Cha, average to low physical. Focus on social and knowledge skills with the intent of using others (minions) to do any heavy lifting or dirty work that may be needed. In combat he will attempt to stay out of melee and focus on buffing/de-buffing and ranged attacks, taking advantage of the Investigator's inspiration, poison use, and studied combat abilities.

It is likely that, if allowed, he will pick up Leadership at level 7 to give himself a pool of minions to work with for various unsavory tasks.

I will probably stick with Investigator for all 20 levels unless a prestige class is introduced which would be thematically (and mechanically) appropriate - due to the Investigator class just being released there are none at this time.

Background:
Even in the land of Talingarde, paradise it may be to many, there are those with the misfortune to be born into poverty. Bealde was one such child and spent his early years living on the streets out of sight of the Church of Mitra, associating with a variety of unsavory characters that he would quickly grow to surpass in skill, ruthlessness, and knowledge, soon coming to rule over them. It was at this time that Bealde was introduced to ways of Asmodeus through his acquisition of a forbidden book of lore, finding the tenets of Diabolism to fit well with his twisted view of the world - the fittest should rule over those weaker, and those who were unwilling to do what was needed to advance should be ground down by those who were.

Gathering a like-minded group of thugs, murders, and thieves, Bealde began plotting how he would infiltrate and overthrow the House of Darius. Unfortunately for him, when he began to put his plan into action it was quickly discovered and quashed by the local authorities. It was only through his own glibness (and possibly some infernal luck) that he managed to convince the judges that he personally had taken no actions against the crown, managing to reduce his crimes from High Treason to 'merely' Sedition - a minor distinction but one that would hopefully allow him a better chance of escape to continue his plans anew.

Here are 2 submissions, interested in playing either one.

NE, Half-elf, Bard, Power Hunger, Womanizer, Greedy, Very Charismatic, Silver Tongued Party Face, will usually have several schemes going at once, no instruments oratory for preform.

LE, Human, Psion, Nomad, maybe dual class rogue 50/50 moving forward, cat burglar, knife for hire, motivated by prestige, holds grudges for a very long time, No women No Children mindset,

I hope i'm not to late but here is my submission.

LE Devil-Spawn Anti-Paladin/Warpriest, a capable, religious zealot, respects woman and loves to fight and spread the gospel of the one true power Asmodeus.

Not too late, but as of now all entries are closed. In the morning I will collect every post/message and get the ball rolling.

Silver Crusade

1 person marked this as a favorite.

*anxiety intensifies*

Dang it! Just slightly too late. Work ate all my time last night.

I was going to submit an adapted version of this halfling witch, designed as a healer for another WotW game. He does fun things with Halfling Jinx that I've been wanting to try out.

Ah well. Good luck, everyone!

The straws have been placed in the cosmic cup of choice. These 7 beings have been called upon by Asmodeous to go forth and do his bidding.

1 applicant was hand chosen by Asmodeus himself, the remaining 6 were chosen at random, and presented thusly in no particular order:

. Asmodean spacer dot
. Asmodean spacer dot

  • Sykes: The Dhampir Barbarian
  • Alicia d'Kouzra: A human inquisitor
  • Malendia Athenalia: Half-elven witch
  • Kristofer: Drow fighter
  • Aramil: Elven rogue
  • Tenoch: synthesist summoner
  • Adria Flameheart: human witch

You have been called out of the evil bullpen and will be given the chance for revenge, for power, for total control, ... but for now. Let us start at the beginning.

You may fully flesh out your character sheets and have them ready for approval between now and Monday(hopefully).

  • 20 point buy for stats.
  • Material from paizo's SRD site, or d20pfsrd.com(my preferred site for looking stuff up) only.
  • No homebrew or modifications to skills/powers/feats/etc (paladin alignment/weapon boon a viable exception.) even though no antipaladins got the straws, it's still something to note if you multiclass later.
  • Starting traits allowed: 1, You will be allowed to choose a campaign trait once characters are completed, for a total of 2 at start time.
  • Starting equipment: none. (you probably know why already.)
  • Have fun! And if you already started this game, try not to be omnipotent and let those others that haven't played it stumble through like your first time :)

  • Silver Crusade RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16

On the plus side, you don't need to worry about buying equipment for this AP!

Best of luck to you evildoers!

Good job to all who made it, I hope you guys have a great and successful game :D

    Silver Crusade

Yay! Will get started with the building and finalizing :3 can't wait to start gaming with you all and best of luck to those who didn't get in in their future PbP endeavors.

    Good luck, players. :)

Keep your eyes posted on this thread at least until Monday, if any of the above names fail to register and complete their guys by monday, I will pull from the evil bullpen and replace them.

So if you're so inclined I would flesh out your characters for play regardless, you may get that 2nd chance.

A quick glance looks OK. The scorpion pet is not with you at the start, so you only have whatever spells you had the night before.

Just make a note what your current memorized spells would be, if you haven't already.

ninja: looks like you have already, great!

Seriously though, can he show up after our escape? I'd hate to have to get a new one.

Splendid. I shall work on completing things post-haste.

    Veltharis here.

Adria *should* be done now, although I might tweak one or two things before we actually start play, at the GM's discretion of course.

Background's a bit novella-esque, I'm afraid, though I feel it was a bit rushed in places... I'll try to clean it up over the next few days, but I didn't want to sail right past the deadline, as I am wont to do.
