Very well.
The fortification takes you all a while to complete but you manage to barricade the doors shut and even close one of the windows before you all hear, very distinctly and with no doubt, voices coming towards the farmhouse. Very...inhuman voices speaking in a gutteral and rasping tongue. Any who are able to see in the dark are able to pick out what the dark shapes approaching are. All others see nothing, yet.
There are 6 goblins wandering towards the farmhouse. They hold rusty looking swords and shields with a severed horse head painted crudely onto the shield faces.

Laurenor |

Laurenor grimaces, the party was in no shape to face another band of enemies but it seemed they had no choice, the goblins seemed intnet on this farmhouse. Perhaps they have caught our scent he thinks to himself before leaning over looking down to the human priest. Make yourselves ready several goblins approach I shall try to pick a few off before they arrive, then it is up to your skill at arms. He asys loudly enough for his words to be heard by the humans before drawing his arrow back to his cheek, kissing the fletching whispering a prayer to Lady Ariel.
"Bless my fangs that I send into your enemies lady."

initiatives? or can just do an attack against the goblins?
I put my sword away and shield at my back to use my crossbow against the first goblin I can see.

Psst Brenog, you do realize we have barricaded the door you just walked through right? Might I suggest taking a window and letting your crossbow handle the introductions? BTW gm how many windows and where? Any chance for a map of this fine fixer-upper of a dwelling?
Keeping clear of the open windows Marius stands ready to lend aid to anyone that falls.

Karl Franz's beard! Has the mercenary been drinking already?
I move and interpose myself between Brenog and the barricaded door. In the dark I don't know how much noise he would make before realizing it was nailed shut. I give a terse "Shh!" and lead him by an elbow to the open window.
In a quiet yet annoyed tone, "Through there, you fool!"
But without a light source I'm not sure us hummies can make ranged attacks, Deiros. :(

Marius' action then Goblins
The Goblins all shriek out in their foul tongue and the injured one begins to blubber as his shield arm is literally pinned to his side by the barbed elven shaft lodged into his side. The rest of them surge forwards, hoping to avoid more arrows and hurl their attacks onto the doors.

WOOOOOOOOOOOW...only GOBLINS could LITERALLY not hit the broad side of a Barn door. ONLY Goblins...ROFL!
The door takes 6 damage. 15-6=9
All but one of the goblins manage to miss with their swords, shaving off tiny bits of wood while their own compatriot carves out a section of the door, deep cracks emanating from where its rusty cleaver split the wood.

Tzeentch the Changer of Ways |

The Goblin Brenog shoots is sent flying backwards a few feet and lands in an undignified tangle of limps, the bolt protruding from its skull. Its fellows all shrike with rage and fear as their losses continue to build but they keep hammering on the door while Ottmar, the priest of Sigmar, leans his full weight upon it.
Marius, your action.

Tzeentch the Changer of Ways |

Marius: Your search yields little useful in propping up the door besides what you have already used. There is a pitchfork close at hand, but otherwise, the only thing to defend yourself is the dagger in your belt.
The Goblins all hack at the door, at least the three still there do, while the wounded goblin takes off down the road, crying and swearing in its foul little tongue.

Goblin 4 Attack: 55% Hit 1d100 ⇒ 74
Goblin 5 Attack: 55% Hit 1d100 ⇒ 30 Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
The door shudders as two goblin blades hack into it and gouge out pieces of the wood. The third goblin misses...again.
The door takes 6 damage and has 3 Hit points remaining.

Tzeentch the Changer of Ways |

The two remaining Goblins, one heavily wounded with a bolt through his chest, both shriek, drop their weapons in an effort to lighten their load and take off sprinting away from the barn and the battered door behind which seemingly feathered death awaits them. They leave their stricken companions where they lay, and the danger of the night has now passed it seems.
Sorry for the wait guys, I'm going to give you full exp for this encounter, as it is my fault it lasted so long as far as time goes.
You each receive 20 Exp for defending the barn against the 6 Goblins and 30 for Slaying the Majority and forcing the others to flee. All of their equipment is flimsy and unsuited for Human or Elf use, and the archers recover their arrows with ease.
The rest of the night passes uneventfully, although the smell of the dead goblins is none too pleasant. Evetually dawn arrives and you all make your way towards Blackwater Village.
As you near the place, you can see a hastily constructed wall much larger even than the houses, surrounding the place, and huge gaps in the walls of said houses, meaning that the people here put more emphasis on building and repairing their walls than their homes. The only non-damaged buildings are what looks like a mayor's office, a blacksmithy, albeit small and crude, as well as a tiny momument to Sigmar, a hammer constructed out of logs above a small platform. Multiple haggard looking villagers burst forth from cover suddenly with drawn bows and blades aimed at you.
An emaciated man dressed in the ruined remains of a chainmail jerkin lifts his hand in a preperation to fire despite your humanness and says very loudly, "Hold there whoever ye be or taste our arrows and blades to send you to Morr!"

Tzeentch the Changer of Ways |

The apparent sergeant of the squad of men scowls darkly at the student then looks over the entire group suspiciously, as if each of you need only the slightest provocation to throw off your human skin to reveal your orcish natures, and it is plain to all that he is most likely delirious from lack of sleep and constant battle.
He slowly lowers his sword as do his men's bows and he chews on his torn bottom lip in thought then barks, "Throw down the weapons you carry." His men keep their weapons ready in case you all do not comply.

Tzeentch the Changer of Ways |

Well all I am sad to say this but due to lack of posting, I am going to have to call this game off. :( I know most of the inactivity is because of me, college beingas it is, but I am sad to say that The Bloody Vale has been called off. Thanks to all who stuck with it for so long and good luck in your further games.

Marius Fenwick |

Apparently not acting quickly enough for the gurada Marius and the other travellers are turned into bloody pincushions by the panicky militia.
Their victory is short lived however as without the students knowledge of philosophy the vale is quickly overrun by Goblins and business majors and forgotten forever.
Good game folks.
See you next time.
