Paul misses Janks who just keeps running.
Nal nearly pulverises a skeleton (cyan:-3). It's just barely hanging in there.
Magenta ((-6)) glares at Nal as she can't flank with Violet ((-2)). It looks like they're used to working as partners. So she attempts to finish Cyan.
You realise we're going to have to kill you after this she says.
short sword: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 slashing: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Ryul, Cortina, and Cashel are up.
Ryul Dathana
|
Ryul moves across the battlefield into a flanking position and slashes at the guard.
Move into flanking with Nal, this provokes from Magenta.
MW ECB + Flank: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 2 = 25 for Slashing: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
As his blade cuts deep into flesh, muscle and scrapes across bone he adds, ”There is no shame in considering a change of employment. Our organization is always looking for new members.”
Crit Confirm?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
phaeton_nz
|
If Paloma can, sure
Ryul's crit does not confirm but that is enough to drop Magenta to zero.
Magenta's AOO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 slashing: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Violet screams as Magenta collapses. NOOOOOOOOO! She then snarls at Ryul. I'm gonna KILL YOU for that
Cortina Hagen
|
"You're not killing ANYONE... 'cause you've got other things to worry about!" Cortina steps forward, takes aim and swings her hammer at the distracted Violet.
silvered Warhammer: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
crit? silvered Warhammer: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Additional Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 + 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 + (4) + 3 = 15
phaeton_nz
|
And Violet goes down in a literal screaming heap. Hopefully her and Magenta will be together again in their next life.
Nal Pavleth
|
Every time in such a situation, I am tormented by doubts about what a couple of ordinary thugs are counting on against five or six heavily armed Pathfinders. What was their plan?... Ah, well, it doesn't matter... Nal mumbles to himself, glad that such nonsense is ten times less common among halflings than among humans.
Ryul Dathana
|
Ryul glances down at the blood soaking through his pants at the thigh, ”Well, she went down swinging at least, maybe that’s how they wanted to go? Some cultures and gods worship battle. Let’s finish these skeletons off now.”
phaeton_nz
|
That is correct
Cortina Hagen
|
Did Cashel's Force Missile not do enough damage? Or are we waiting if Paloma put Janks down, saving our wizard the use of the ability?
Paloma Redclaw
|
"Running is not surrender." Paloma chides as she takes a swing at the fleeing man.
Club Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Sorry, I thought I posted it already. Past week was rough, next one should be better.
phaeton_nz
|
Paloma's AOO barely misses. Cashel realises he's going to need a few more missiles or something heavier hitting to take Janks down.
What did I do to you lot? he exclaims as he runs.
Paloma is up (top of round)
Cortina Hagen
|
"You shot at us with your crossbow?"
Paloma Redclaw
|
Paloma left the pursuit of Janks to faster agents and moves further into the room to swing at a skeleton with her club.
Club attack vs Cyan : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 B damage : 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Cyan goes down. Yellow gets tripped (-2)
Janks keeps moving. Yellow tries to get up. Orange tries to get around to hit Cortina.
broken scimitar: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16 slashing: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Ryul Dathana

Ryul strides up and swings, ”Banter or tactical discourse is wasted upon these skeletons, let’s just make this quick. Paul, I set up a flank for you.”
MW ECB: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 for Slashing: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

((Janks: -17)) Janks stumbles at the hit.
Paul Montrose
|
"On it!" Unable to catch up to the fleeing guard, Paul closes up on the yellow skeleton and stabs at it.
Rapier attack, incl. flank: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 2 = 17
Damage, if applicable, incl. sneak attack: 1d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 1 + (2) = 5
Ah, well.
Cortina Hagen
|
If yellow tries to get up, Cortina gets to make an AoO:
silvered Warhammer vs. prone: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 4 = 28
Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
crit? silvered Warhammer: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 4 = 12
Additional Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 + 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 + (8) + 3 = 18
Cortina swings her hammer at the last standing skeleton. orange
silvered Warhammer: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
@GM: Even if the crit isn't confirmed, that hit should pulverize yellow, so Nal could change the target of his attack to orange. Alternatively, (if she forgot to take an AoO since I posted so late) you can use Cortina's first attack roll on orange.
Cortina Hagen
|
"Go chase Janks, everyone! I've got this!"
As the skeletons seem to have only 4 hp, one hit from Cortina's warhammer is all it takes to destroy them. And the cleric is at full HP.
Ryul Dathana
|
Ryul frowns and puts his thoughts to words, "I know he is a fleeing felon, at least in most legal jurisdictions. But we aren't law enforcement and I figure his threat profile is pretty low, now that he isn't stuck between us and our goal. Is there that strong a reason to chase him down?"
phaeton_nz
|
The skeletons are swiftly demolished.
Janks moves to the end of the corridor.
Paloma Redclaw
|
Hearing Cashel's shout and with no skeletal foes to be concerned over, Paloma ascends? the stairs and calls after the fleeing man.
"Stop and surrender and you will be spared!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Failing that, she commands Cheeper to attack.
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 5 = 10
The cheetah blazes after the fool.

Trip if Bite hits: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
I think that's two rounds of actions since Cheeper can't charge.

Janks goes down. That force bolt was enough to do the job.
Ryul Dathana
|
Ryul was working his way up the stairs when he hears the words of Cashel. He keeps climbing and pokes his head out to look.
”Ah, you got him. Good work. Sorry we didn’t get here quicker, it took a little time to deal with the guards and skeletons.”
He glances at the bandages on Janks, ”I presume we will be turning anyone left alive into the authorities? Or at least over to the society to handle that part? I will assist after we complete our mission if that is your goal.”
He goes back downstairs and looks at the two guards there, ”Anyone stabilize these two? Or is it too late? Janks is upstairs unconscious.”
Ryul searches the guards and skeletons and room for anything of value to the group or the society.

Cashel does find the treasure Janks was carrying. Magenta can be stabalised easily but it was touch and go for Violet for a while. Someone even moves the two of them so they can be together. All they had on them were chain shirts and short swords.
Looks like Janks was carrying enough to be a down payment on his own nightclub - in the Puddles, basically 800gp worth. He also had an empty potion bottle, chain shirt, masterwork heavy cross bow with 10 +1 bolts and a short sword.
Carrying on ...
Great, upright stones dominate this room, evenly spaced out to allow for easy passage between them. The stones have been perfectly carved to form bookshelves, each with six different shelves containing various books, notes, maps, and other crammed-in documents. A perpetual thick gray fog covers the floor of this room to a height of six inches, and most of the documents on the lowest shelves of the bookcases appear to have rotted away because of condensation from this fog, giving the room a pungent, musty aroma.
Celeena Deckland is here. She had heard the commotion outside and has summoned a lemure after ducking behind the north west shelf.
Ryul Dathana
|
I moved the group up roughly per our marching order to be ready for the door opening.
Ryul eyes the fiend, ”You don’t seem to be surrendering Ma’am, but you are welcome to change your mind once your blood starts flowing. It’s worth noting that so far your obstacles haven’t done much to slow us down.”
Cortina Hagen
|
Cortina stabilizes the two guards, starting with the heavier injured Violet.
Heal, guidance: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 1 = 15
Heal, guidance: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 1 = 19
Afterwards, she retrieves her longspear and stands behind the non-reach melees frontliners. She then casts guidance on herself, Nal and Paul (and suggests that Cashel and Paloma do the same for the others before the door is opened), ready to strike any foe that might wait behind the door.
I think it's Knowledge (Planes) to identify the lemure - a skill Cortina isn't trained in...

Last round’s spell failure check I forgot, fails 1-10: 1d100 ⇒ 72

I'd say you were definitely healed by Cortina's wand of CLW before we opened the door. We are not amateurs (anymore), we are level 2! ;-)
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 :-D
Also, you will have received guidance as we have 3 party members who have it prepared and no reason not to cast it before opening the door. Maybe it makes a difference for your attack roll...
Cortina aims at the lemure and tries to distract it a bit with her longspear in order to make it easier for Nal to hit it.

Ok, that was a little unexpected... is it too late to change Cortina's successful aid another (for +2 to hit) to Paul?

He thinks to himself as the blade goes wide, Being off balance from ducking definitely hurt my swing there. But maybe the distraction will allow Nal to end the threat.
