Beck Tavis |

" Sheelah, hush," Beck says as his cat slips into the brush. . .
unless there is no brush, in which case they don't cause that would look silly.
Stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 Beck tries to walk softly
Sheelah stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 while Sheelah is the ghost that stalks the night!
or . . . day, as long as it's snowy?

Xanxan Gimblewabe |

Blast, I really should study the upper crust some more. Trained falcons usually mean wealth but that doesn't help. Are they allies or foes? Likely the latter from what I gathered. Curse my short legs, I can't be sure I'd get back to the others...
Xanxan tries to slip back to position himself into a hiding spot where he can at least help his friends out once a fight starts. If he sees them in the distance on the way, so much the better
Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Duardlara Frostborn |

Chewing her lip as she hesitates, Duardlara finally offers, quietly, "I wasn't so quiet last time, but I can try to move up to see how he fares. We should have a signal to let you know."
Casting a cantrip to link her to Venja, she whispers, "You should hear me from a fair distance with this. Unless you have a different idea."
Casting message.

Duardlara Frostborn |

If no one stops her, she will attempt to move closer and listen.
Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
^--- Not having a good feeling about this.

Venja |

Venja nods back to confirm she heard the whispered message via the link, flashes 'Lara a quick smile.
Since she knows the spell herself, and even prepared it for the day, she selects the others as her targets and then moves out about 100 feet behind 'Lara, trying to move silently and stealthily, using the trees and brush as cover. She strains her senses to be as aware as she can of not only the birds, and their handlers, but 'Lara, and Xanxan if they get close.
stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
She does whisper to the others the limitations of the spell (110 feet) so they can follow at that distance if they so desire to stay in touch.

Helgash |

"We could move closer, but forget any chance of a covert approach my friends - if not Jetro, than I would make sure it is nigh impossible with my combat gear" - Helgash nods - "I will be ready to spring into action though as soon as needed Duardlara. Shall I follow from a distance?"
Apologies for my absent posting guys, but Venja, I think we could assume your hit points are way higher, maybe even at max? Two days have elapsed, correct? Helgash would have indeed make sure you would be fully healed. What say you Variel? :D

Venja |

Lara should be 100 feet ahead of Venja, and Venja 100 ft ahead of the rest of the group.

DM Variel |

1d1001 ⇒ 877
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
Beck 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 +1/2 level in cold
Helgash 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Jetro 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Lara 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Venja 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Xanxan 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
I could not get the group 110ft behind Venja so you will just have to assume that till you get closer. No one sees Xanxan at this time friend or foe. There is no sight of the hooded figure but the birds spot Lara and alert their handlers. Good guys up with Xanxan able to take a surprise action if he wants. Areas with pixilated trees provide cover and are difficult terrain.

Venja |

Venja moves up to M7 and casts Mage Armor on herself. She tries to stay as hidden as she can, hoping trees and distance will aid her in this. Meanwhile, she keeps her eyes on those birds.
stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

Helgash |

Helgash plods forward as fast as he can muster, deviating slightly so as not to end up directly in line to where he believes Venja, Duardlara or Xanxan may be.
On the one hand he hopes this will divert attention from their positioning, and on the other he hopes to get close enough to assist them if necessary, while making sure Jetro is guarded from possible attacks.
Sticking with Jetro - keeping our mobile artillery safe.

Beck Tavis |

Beck will Run 120 ft. to catch up, getting to about 20 ft ahead of where Venja was. (AC 16 for running)
Sheelah moves up right to where Venja was standing 100 ft back from D'lara

Duardlara Frostborn |

D'lara takes evasive action, then, ducking down behind the scrub to get concealment and racing away from her current position at an angle to their approach. Aware of her tracks in the snow, she will not lead directly toward the others, but will lead any pursuit so the others can see them. Move to Q12 and then diagonally up and left as far as a double move will take her, ending in a hidden position. Her hope is to find a concealed position within 40' where she can observe pursuit/ready her shot.
Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

DM Variel |

birds 6d20 ⇒ (5, 11, 19, 2, 17, 19) = 73
other 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
other 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33 Just be glad those weren't used on an attack roll
The 2 groups move quickly towards each other and prepare for the ensuing combat. Venja casts her spell alerting those that someone is there even if they can not see her hiding among the trees. Lara tries to move quietly to the south hiding from the birds and their handlers. As she moves she spots a cloaked figure comes out of hiding from around the same tree that she was using for cover. The birds scramble around her as well alerting everyone to her presence distracting her. Birds are using a trick to distract aiding the cloaked figure in attacking +2 to hit for the cloaked figure.
Jetro and Helgash run forward to get closer to the action while Beck and Sheelah run as well. Sheelah is able to keep up with Venja and can guard her well.
The cloaked figure lunges forward from all fours and all Lara can see is a large snout of a worg as it attacks her.
attack 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 for 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 and 1d6 ⇒ 1 cold damage
trip attempt 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
This is a larger version of a worg meaning that it must be winter wolf variant. They are smarter and more ferocious than their smaller brethren and are capable of expelling a breath weapon of cold damage.
Lara prone on the ground. Round 2 good guys up.
To simplify things I have everyone on the map where they should be. I fudged the numbers a bit to make it work easier for me. Helgash and Beck got a small boost forward is all.

Beck Tavis |

Beck charges the Worg Guess it has to be to Q:9?
1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 2 = 16 +2 if i can get a flank somehow
for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Sheelah, on the other hand moves to O:12, bursting out of the woods and attacking one of the crows flanking with duardlara
1d20 + 5 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 - 1 = 21
for 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5

DM Variel |

Jetro moves forward and places an arrow into the cloaked figure. Snak Inge out as you can see blood running down and dripping onto the snow.
Helgash moves up and establishes a Lifelink with Lara hoping to keep her alive until support can come to her aid.
Support comes in the form of a charging Beck and Sheelah. Sheelah targets one of the birds circling and distracting Lara. Her bite rips a wing to shreds causing the bird to flee back to its handler. Beck targets the cloaked figure but just misses as the cloak distorted the position of the body beneath it. This is just fluff, no it is not a cloak o displacement!

Duardlara Frostborn |

Down 11 from attack, up 5 from life link.
"You animals need to learn how to treat a lady. First Venja, now me?"
D'lara stays down, drawing her dagger and striking out at the creature.
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
She shouts a warning, "Winter wolf! Watch out for its breath weapon!"
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Not including any flanking bonus or prone penalty
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Assuming sneak damage not an option here, but she's going for the disembowelment...

DM Variel |

Lara lashes out at the winter wolf from the ground trying to distract it enough to provide a flank for one of her allies. All she gets in response is a snarl as the jaws, bloody from the previous bite on her, look to bite down on her again as the dagger misses completely.
Don't like botting for 2 people especially since Lara is prone so will wait til Xanxan and Vanja post. Sent Xanxan a pm

Xanxan Gimblewabe |

Xanxan will fire from his hiding spot hoping to catch one of the hunters in the back of the neck once one is close enough to take full advantage of a sneak attack of his own.
to hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 3 Sneak attack bonus 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6

DM Variel |

Trying a new map out so bear with me please.
Rest of round 2
Venja moves up to aid her companion and unleashes her hair at another of the falcons 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 for 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7. Her hair just hits and does significant damage to the falcon causing it to retreat as well.
Xanxan fires off a bolt that hits a falconer solidly alerting them to his presence. they move up unslinging their bows and take aim at Xanxan: all 6 of them.
Bottom of Round 2
The 6 falconers fire at Xanxan with their longbows showing great skill and proficiency in their use as they have excellent aim at close range. 6d20 ⇒ (5, 10, 5, 9, 18, 1) = 48 +5 each 1d6d8 ⇒ 1 +3 each Xanxan gets hit by 1 of the archers for a total of 7 damage.
The birds leave Lara and fly off to focus on the archer Jetro making life miserable for him. Luckily Helgash is there to help out as the falcons provoke AOO's as they move to attack Jetro. Only 1 aoo Helgash until you get combat reflexes. 4d20 ⇒ (11, 18, 13, 8) = 50 +5 each for 4d4 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 3) = 11. Jetro is hit for a total of 7 damage from 2 different falcons beaks ripping into him.
Last but not least the winter wolf attacks Beck hoping to trip him. 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21 for 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 and 1d6 ⇒ 6 cold and 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33 As Beck charged this round the worg hits with his bite into Beck's chest snapping jaws together trying to rip out his heart. Finding purchase on Beck the wolf twists his head and throws Beck tot he ground. Beck takes 15 damage and 6 cold and is prone.
[ooc]Good Guys up. Good luck

Venja |

Venja steps back and casts her ray of enfeeblement at the huge worg that has Beck on the ground.
to hit ranged touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
strength penalty if hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

DM Variel |

Venja fires a ray that appears like a black void as it strikes the worg in the head.
fort save on the ray of enfeeblement 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 success only takes 3 strength penalty
The worg reels back from the arcane blasts but seems to avoid the worst of the blast but seems a bit weaker on his paws. So much for applying the advanced template to its stats.
Jetro clears away from most of the birds to fire at the worg but the result of the falcons was what their handlers wanted. The arrow flies into the trees and misses the scrum that is going on around the worg.

Helgash |

As the flock of birds heads towards himself and Jetro, Helgash swings his weapon hard, trying to whittle down the sheer amount of creatures assaulting them.
AoO vs. falcon: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Damage if it hits: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Jetro, did you move your icon? It doesn't look like you 5' stepped back ;)
Helgash moves into the fray against the birds, dropping his bardiche, drawing his cold iron longsword and stepping between them and his archer companion.
5'step to L:5 and swinging again at the same bird I hit with the AoO - if that one went down (hoping it was M:6), I'm attacking the one in L:6
Cold Iron Longsword Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Damage if it hits: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Duardlara, you heal another 5 from Life Link. Also Beck, which is the default target from Life Link, recovers 5 hp. Helgash loses 10. Status bar updated. Map position updated

Beck Tavis |

Beck gives Sheelah the command to Flank, and she moves around the Winter wolf to attack
BIte: 1d20 + 5 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 5 - 1 + 2 = 18
for 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7
Beck then stands draws an AoO, right? and he asks, "wanna turn up the heat?"
and casts Produce Flame, punching the Winter-wolf with FIRE
Prduce Flame: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 = 22
for fire: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Xanxan Gimblewabe |

Xanxan blinks as the shot he gave was solid, but not lethal, Ambushes aren't nearly as effective as the bards would have one believe. I may have made a mistake here.
Then he himself is wounded.
Definitely made a mistake.
Zagging back and just a bit closer to his friends, Xanxan fires another shot at the one he wounded earlier. If he can find some cover, so much the better.
to hit:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Doubt I'd get sneak attack at this increasing range

Duardlara Frostborn |

Feeling the wound inflicted by the worg closing of its own volition, Duardlara can't help but wonder at the sacrifice made by the tiefling - it has to be him, she's sure - even as she rolls to her feet and flanks with Beck, trying to stab the worg in a crucial spot.
Dagger attack: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7 Flanking, no other bonus available, right?
Damage: 1d4 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + (4, 2) = 10 Sneak attack
Edit: Rats!

Duardlara Frostborn |

Hmm... I rolled based on Beck's request before I found the map link. I'm not flanking with Beck yet - but if Sheelah moves north one and he moves south one, all three of us will be flanking... Disregard the flanking bonus from my attack - he probably doesn't even know I stood up at this point.

DM Variel |

Top of round 3 continued.
AOO on Beck 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 for 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 and 1d6 ⇒ 5 cold damage Beck your hp status shows 32/21hp???
Helgash eviscerates one of the falcons that attacked Jetro and proceeds to injure another of the birds causing the wounded one to retreat as well.
Sheelah moves around to flank according to Beck's orders but her teeth just miss getting a grip on the winter wolf. Beck makes the most of the opportunity to stand up taking 13 points of damage for his efforts. The maneuver did allow him to cast produce flame and singe the winter wolf for some extra damage though.
Lara takes the opportunity provided by Beck to roll out from under the worg and get to her feet. stabbing upwards with her weapon she hopes to find a weak spot but the amount of fur is too difficult to judge where the ideal location is and the strike is off its mark.
Xaxan reloads and fires his crossbow again at the wounded falconer. His aim is true and another bolt juts from the mans right arm drawing more blood and curses. the man looks like he is ready to flee but the sight of the winter wolf still there hardens his resolve and he continues on with the fight.
Bottom of 3
The 6 falconers 5ft step closer tot he scrum and faster than the eye all of them in unison draw back arrows and shoot forth a volley at Lara and Sheelah. Each of the falconers are able to fire off 2 arrows in rapid succession ignoring the fact that the winter wolf is engaged with their targets. That's right, point blank shot, precise shot and rapid shot. Not even upgraded at all. Oh yeah favored enemy is humans as well.
Lara attacked 6d20 ⇒ (16, 9, 17, 18, 18, 15) = 93+3 each for 6d8 ⇒ (7, 4, 4, 2, 8, 4) = 29+3 each
Sheelah attacked 6d20 ⇒ (6, 18, 10, 3, 6, 12) = 55+3 each for 6d8 ⇒ (2, 6, 7, 1, 8, 4) = 28+3 each
Ouch, 4 hits on Lara even with mage armor on for 33 damage puts her at -4. Good thing she has a life link going.
Only 1 hit on Sheelah even though she has lower AC for 9 damage
The falconers deserve some high praise for their marksmenship abilities as they drop Lara to the ground making her look like an elven pin cushion. Sheelah is hit as well free the winter wolf up a bit.
The 2 remaining falcons slide over to continue to harass Jetro.
bite attacks 2d20 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7 +3 each for 2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 and
4 talon attacks 4d20 ⇒ (16, 6, 5, 10) = 37 +4 each for 4d4 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 1) = 7
Only 1 talon hits for 2 damage as the rest of the attacks are blunted by armor and quickness.
Finally the winter wolf looks at Beck with malice in his eye responding back in common. I like it as much as you like the cold I presume. Enjoy this!!!
the winter wolf then breathes a cone of cold over Beck and steps out of flank.
breath attack 6d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 5, 5, 6) = 27 cold damage reflex 19 for half. 1d4 ⇒ 1

Venja |

Venja extends her hair to Beck and touches him lightly with it, healing him with her hex for
clw: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Beck Tavis |

reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 well that sucks
And beck takes 22 damage and passes out at -1 HP... His eyes roll back as he takes the full brunt of the blast of cold, even with his innate resistances
Venja heals him so he's on the ground with 4HP+5HP for life-link: DOes Produce flame stay lit or is that gone now, case i went to -1?
This time beck tosses a sprig of holly and it erupts into a Sphere of Fire...
Flaming Sphere sits at S:9 DC: 17 reflex to negate 3d6 fire damage
He then crawls back to P:9
Sheelah goes around and tries to rip into the Winter Wolf
Bite: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 5 - 1 = 8
for 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 5 - 1 = 20
for 1d4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8
Claw: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 - 1 = 5
for 1d4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8

Helgash |

Both Beck and Duardlara heal 5 from Life Link - Helgash takes 10, going down to 13 HP.
The paladin roars as his companions go down under the ferocious attacks. The blessing of the Goddess falls upon him, a golden soft light envelopig the tiefling, and healing his wounds.
Swift LoH for:
LoH: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10
And back up at 23.
"Stand fast Jetro, I need to go to their aid" - he speaks calmly, moving away from the falcons, and towards the falconers.
Double move to M:13, drawing shield.
"Face me you dogs, and we shall see if arrows will keep you safe from my wrath" - he shouts at the falconers.
We need a fireball :D
--Status--
AC: 18
HP: 23/38
Spent LoH: 1/5

Duardlara Frostborn |

Would it be beneficial to point out that favored enemy (human) would not apply to D'lara since she's an elf? Or did you already account for that?
Lara awakens suddenly in pain, four arrows piercing her back and a fifth through the cloak, but not biting flesh. Taking stock, she finds herself face down in the snow, dagger near at hand, and that cursed worg nearby still. She opts to follow Venja's lead and play dead for the moment while she figures out where the others are.

DM Variel |

Round 4
Some deft maneuvering and positioning going on as Venja moves up to touch Beck with her hair healing him with a hex while Helgash leaves Jetro to get closer to both the worg and the falconers.
AOO on Helgash from the birds 2d20 ⇒ (9, 18) = 27 +4 each for 2d4 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
Helgash takes 1 damage from a talon for his efforts.
Xanxan continues to plink away at the injured ranger doing more damage to him but without catching his opponent flat-footed it is hard to find a killing blow with his bolts. the injured ranger takes a bolt to the leg and drops to a knee bleeding. The worg gives a growl and the rangers stays were he is bleeding profusely.
Continuing his ranged attacks Jetro fires at the worg wounding it again with his arrows. Eventually his attacks will whittle the worg down but will it be in time to save Beck and Lara.
Speaking of Lara, the frail elven lass lies unmoving on the ground as her life blood seeps out. Her breath ragged and shallow.
Beck falls unconscious for the briefest of moments, just long enough to fall to the snow packed earth. Waking up immediately due to the life link he opens his eyes and sees the worg stepped back away from him. Casting a spell a ball of flame appears on the worg trying to singe its fur. His flame in his hand stays lit still even falling unconscious as the spell duration had not expired and it was not a concentrated effort to keep it going.
reflex save 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 for 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1) = 6 +50%
Beck then crawls back to create some more space between him and the worg. Sheelah moves around to the far side of the worg and gets in a bite that gets a mouthful of fur but nothing else.
Beck as part of your action you could stand and then 5ft to get to the same spot. Also I show that Sheelah moved more than 5ft granting her only a single attack.
Bottom of Round 4
The falconers attack Sheelah hoping to get rid of all of the foes on this side of the combat. They are outside of their preferred range though and their accuracy suffers just a bit because of it. Seeing the first volley fell the large cat they turn on Helgash and loose the last volley at him.
Sheelah attacked 6d20 ⇒ (1, 12, 15, 9, 17, 16) = 70+2 each for 6d8 ⇒ (6, 1, 8, 1, 7, 6) = 29 +2 each
Helgash attacked 6d20 ⇒ (7, 19, 1, 1, 9, 1) = 38+2 each for 6d8 ⇒ (4, 7, 6, 5, 8, 7) = 37 +2 each
Only two of the arrows find their mark but they hit hard doing 17 points of damage to the kitty. dropping her to the ground.
Helgash only takes a single hit for 9 damage. That was with 4 1's on the attack rolls as well.
The injured ranger falls unconscious from the blood loss reducing the rangers by 1.
The falcons move to attack Jetro again as their last orders were to attack him They continue to attack with beak and talons.
bite 2d20 ⇒ (11, 6) = 17 +3 for 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
talons 4d20 ⇒ (20, 12, 4, 5) = 41 +4 for 4d4 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 3) = 12
crit confirm 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 for 1d4 ⇒ 1
The worg seems pleased with the efforts of the falcons and falconers and steps out of the ball of fire to breath again on Venja and Beck for 6d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 1, 5, 6) = 21 with a reflex DC 19 for half.
Good Guys up with a couple people down. Can Jetro provide enough support to help bring the worg down as Helgash joins in the scrum?

Venja |

reflex save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Venja takes 16 damage from the cold (resistance 5)
Venja casts glitterdust on the archers, trying to end their threat.
dc 17 will save vs blindness

Beck Tavis |

reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
back to dying, Beck takes 16 damage and goes to -7... F-- that reflex save!
death save: 1d20 + 2 - 7 ⇒ (2) + 2 - 7 = -3
Sheelah flips out and attacks a little too fervantly...
Bite: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 - 1 = 12
for 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 = 9
Claw: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 1 = 11
for 1d4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 - 1 = 23
for 1d4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8
but there is a spot for D'lara to get a flank at least
