Born in 1973 in Chicago. Erik was embraced in the Dubai in 1998 while pursuing a bounty. He disappeared for over a decade, before reappearing in the US in early 2013. He had just reached Chicago when the prince was murdered and has relocated the Geary fairly recently, though he has established several connections and secured a safe domain. He has been welcomed by the prince as Erik aided him with a problem soon after arriving.


The Ventrue once ruled Chicago with an iron grasp, after Prince Lodin took over from Prince Maxwell after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Of course, Prince Lodin ruled because he essentially murdered all rivals to his position and Embraced a brood of almost a dozen Kindred in order to gain control over a variety of influences in the City and control the politicians and police of the city - but he ruled competently and made Chicago a shining example of what the Camarilla could achieve. Prince Lodin and Chicago were viewed highly by other members of the Camarilla, and several Princes attempted to emulate what Lodin had done (although it was not widely known that he had killed his rivals and sired a veritable squad of Ventrue to protect himself).

If you want that to be your background then it's approved.


Along those lines, sure... Trying to keep him "good". Will figure something out.

Technically, Traditions aside, it probably was widely known that he claimed Prince by killing his rivals. He & his followers would likely have made a point of making it known. Vampires are predators as much as parasites & a Predator keeps his territory by making it painfully clear to all competition what happens to 'poachers', in this case, death.


Perhaps I just copied that piece of text as is was written in the wiki.


I'd take it to mean he was "smooth & savvy". Not an in your face or overt sorta fella.

Any more room? I've run a lot of VtM, but rarely gotten to play, and every time they end quickly, so not sure that even counts.

I have this character mostly ready that I could change around a bit, reflavor to the area and probably tone down (a little) the Humanity. I got to play him only a few days in a PbP and the ST just kind of vanished.


Diremerc thoughts on my assamite?


I think I already have like 8 people right now who said they were interested, gonna call it full for now and let you know if there is a spot once I know who's really in. Feel free to prepare the character just in case.


You can play an assamite if you want just be prepared that most folk wont be very friendly to you.

He was posted earlier, he is a member of the Camilla, though probably still not trusted by many. He doesn't really talk about his heritage.

sorry I have been quiet. Had a mild case of CO poisoning and hospital stay kind of made it hard to repost. I moved some points around and have a more workable character concept for the game.

Orphan was embraced a mere 13 years ago by a Malkavian elder named Ada who took something of a maternal interest in the poor boy. Lost and alone he had crawled into her haven and curled up in a corner. She took him in and embraced him, fulfilling a prophesy she had been waiting to see come to fruition for the last thousand years or so... give or take a century or two. Since showing the boy the ropes and teaching him what he needed to know to survive she has released Orphan and cut ties with him. Orphan doesn't know it yet but he has some small part to play in the great game being played out daily by the Malkavians.

Orphan is just trying to make his way in the world. He has not been told why he was sent to Gary or anything about the prophesies. All he knows is there is a scratching in the back of his mind and it won't let him be.

Figure I can roleplay into an increasing connection to the madness network over the course of the game.


Alright, this is Irnk's character concept. I noticed a matter that you may want/need to address, DireMerc. Languages have been shifted to being Merits, similar to how they are in NWoD. This may become an issue as by RAW PC's are only allowed 7 points in Merits total, which could make learning languages difficult.

Vinccenso Pruffi, born to second generation Italian immigrants to the Chicago area in the beginning of the twentieth century, he was an unusually studious child & was expected to join the church by all who knew him growing up.
Unfortunately, he attracted the attention of a monster far more terrifying than the most corrupt of pedophile priests. Malachius Volk, recently re-assigned to the Chicago Chantry soon after rousing from a long torpor in Vienna after a successful hunt of one of the last of the Salubri found himself drawn to something about the boy.
Manipulating the parish priest into grooming young Vinccenso for the priesthood among other things, Malachius took advantage of Vinccenso's youth & inexperience to interpose himself as a knowledgeable figure in matters of scholarship & the world. With time, Vinccenso soon came to view him as an authority figure even moreso than his own father or priest. As the years went on, Vinccenso would grow ever more entangled within Malachius' web. Finally, with only a few months before Vinccenso would begin seminary, Malachius had received permission of the Seven to embrace Vinccenso as a childe of House & Clan Tremere.

Needless to say, this was a revelation of an entirely different nature than Vinccenso could ever have expected; for Malachius, though so debauched, dissolute & degraded from his centuries not only as a Kindred but also as a hunter & devourer of Salubri as to be almost a mockery of humanity, was also long experienced at concealing his inhumanity, particularly from those who would be long in his company.

On the eve of Vinccenso's embrace, he & Malachius took a train ride to Gary, where Malachius introduced him to a number of odd nocturnal acquaintances, hinting that several of these individuals would prove influential in his later life. The following day, Vinccenso wandered Gary's streets, contemplating his future & praying at the parish church.

The following day, Mr & Mrs Pruffi received the sobering news that their youngest son had died in a car crash, his body so mangled & burned that it was unrecognizable.

The truth of course was that While Vinccenso did die that night, as certain 'Wits' would have it, 'he got better'. This was in the years between the end of the Great War & the beginning of the Great Depression & the idea of questioning the authorities in such a matter had yet to really catch on.

What follows concerns Vinccenso's Dark Secret, consequently, I considered it appropriate that only you read it, at least until you decide whether you are going to allow it in the game or not.
Little did any of the parties know, that Malachius' victims might also play their part, for every Salubri that Malachius had consumed continued on in a way within his own diseased soul. Continued on, and plotted for their release from such a degenerate prison. Indeed, the compulsion Malachius felt for Vinccenso was the result of the Salubri shards still within him sensing the potential within the boy.
That night, as Vinccenso felt his own life flooding into Malachius & something else enter him in it's stead, he heard something, a susseration of voices asking him 'is this truly what you want?' And he answered the voices 'No'.

The consequences were imperceptible at first. Vinccenso was no more or less traumatized by his death & new un-life than any other whelp. He showed no more or less aptitude for the manipulations & Disciplines of the Clan than any other newly embraced whelp. Even his introspective withdrawal was hardly unusual for a newly embraced child of the house. Of course, the third eye which only opened when he was completely alone & able to focus solely upon the secrets the voices whispered to him was...
unprecedented, to say the least,
within the 'publicly' accessible tomes within the Chantry. Over the nights & years since then, Vinccenso has come to understand that his own personal Masquerade is just as necessary & just as uncertain as that which conceals the Kindred from the Kine.

Thom Sawyer, it's an unfortunate name... and the joke was getting old. When he sees this Mark Twain in Hell, there will be words. Or should he blame his parents... enough blame to go around, always is.

In the military, he was the wide-eyed recruit. In Chicago PD, the wide-eyed rookie. And, now... a god-forsaken vampire and still wide-eyed after years.

It wasn't that he didn't have the killer instinct, he did. But, he was "cursed" with a conscience, too. Do the right thing, be fair... keep your Karma clean. That had become harder of late, that last one.

The more he'd learned about his sire, the sicker he got. It was only a matter of time, then that Hunter did him a favor and took the despicable bastard out. It was getting close so that he'd might have done it himself.

Great power, responsibility. Do that right thing, be fair. A morale compass is all that held him together. In the army, in the police department... he was himself and there were those that supported him, that believed in him.

This should be no different. Just another arena. But, Chicago is too hot... gotta run.

Go to Gary, see who's left and what's up... muster some help.
