Merits:

Coldly Logical (1 pt): While some might refer to you as a “cold fish,” you have a knack for separating factual reporting from emotional
or hysterical coloration. You may or may not be emotional yourself, but you can see clearly when others are clouding the facts with their feelings (-1 difficulty on all related rolls).

Concentration (1 pt): You have the ability to focus your mind and shut out any distractions or annoyances. Characters with this Merit are unaffected by any penalties stemming from distracting circumstances (e.g., loud noises, strobe lights, or hanging upside down).

Flaws:

Bad Sight (1 pt): Your sight is defective. The difficulties of any die
rolls involving the use of your eyesight are increased by two. As a one-point Flaw, this condition can be corrected with glasses or contacts; as a three-point Flaw, the condition is too severe to be corrected.

Nightmares (1 pt): You experience horrendous nightmares every time you sleep, and memories of them haunt you during your waking hours. Upon awakening, you must make a Willpower roll (difficulty 7) or lose a die on all actions that night. A botch indicates that, even when awake, you still believe you are locked in that nightmare.

Lame (3 pt): Your legs are damaged, which prevents you from running
or walking easily. You are forced to walk with a cane or possibly leg braces, and you have a pronounced limp to your stride. Your walking speed is one-quarter that of a normal human, and running is impossible.

Deep Sleeper (1 pt): When you sleep, it is very difficult for you to awaken. The difficulty of any die roll to awaken during the day is increased by two.

How old are you?

Alexander was in his late 50s (57) when he was embraced and has been a vampire for 33 years. (Embraced in 1958).

What was unique about your childhood?

Born in Cardiff, Wales, Alexander's childhood was not too out of the ordinary, save for a fascination with urban legends. One particular urban legend had caught young Alexander's interest more than others, the disappearance of 13 lower-middle class people from Cardiff, only one of which had ever been found, and that was as a desiccated husk.

What kind of person were you?

Alexander has always been sort of bookish, and nearly fanatical in his pursuit of whatever his current subject of interest is. One way to distract his to express interest in his current subject, then his desire to teach others steps in. Eventually his studies and desire to teach others had led him to the United States, the Smithsonian Institute in particular, specializing in the history of folklore, esoterica, and the occult.

What was your first brush with the supernatural

A pale skinned man had not-so-politely dissuaded Alexander from digging further into a particular occult subject he was investigating. Though disturbingly, Alexander can remember little more about the incident.

How did the Embrace change you?

Alexander's studies had landed him in a bit of hot water as the subject of his investigation had found him and began to beat him severely. Fortunately or unfortunately as the case may be, Tiberius was following and studying Alexander as a potential progeny. Tiberius, knowing that Alexander would not survive otherwise, embraced him on the spot. An unfortunate side effect is that Richard's right leg would never be the same, forcing him to walk with a cane for his now endless nights.

Who was your sire, and how did he treat you?

Tiberius treated Alexander well. There was a strong Teacher/Student relationship between the two.

How did you meet the others in your coterie?

I haven't yet.

Where is your haven?

Private home in Bethesda, Maryland.

Do you retain any connections to your mortal life?

No. He has been a vampire too long to keep any contacts from his former life.

What are your habitual feeding grounds?

"Study" groups from his students if the few members of his herd are not sufficient.

What motivates you?

Pursuit of knowledge and growing in power within the Tremere Chantry and the Clan's foothold in the DC area.
