Be it so known that the bearer of this charter has been charged
by the Swordlords of Restov, acting upon the greater good and
authority vested within them by the office of the Regent of the
Dragonscale Throne, has granted the right of exploration and travel
within the wilderness region known as the Greenbelt. Exploration
should be limited to an area no further than thirty-six miles east and
west and sixty miles south of Oleg’s Trading Post. The carrier of
this charter should also strive against banditry and other unlawful
behavior to be encountered. The punishment for unrepentant banditry
remains, as always, execution by sword or rope. So witnessed on this
24th day of Calistril, under watchful eye of the Lordship of Restov
and authority granted by Lord Noleski Surtova, current Regent of
the Dragonscale Throne.

@ Malak Niitei - I would not mind joining backstory's

This alias is Joe Rice's necromancer. Hope he makes it, I've got some fun plans for him.

Very interested!!!

Edit: Never mind my question. Changed my character idea.

A dhampir bard here. Full stats, background, and description in the profile (I can repost in thread if you'd prefer). The only trait not taken from the books already mentioned is Arcane Temper and a link to the pfsrd is in the profile with the trait.

This really does sound like a great game, so quite intrigued.

Here's my Witch submission. I'm very curious to see how this game works out. Looks interesting and fun.

A Cavalier fighting to bring the Andoran rabble back under the reign of their rightful masters!

This is Jon 164 BTW

I thank you for deciding to run Kingmaker (er, Tyrantmaker). I would like to submit Narvolo for consideration. Narvolo's ambition to be the clan leader so he could marry a noblewoman was cut short, and he would like his revenge. Selling his soul to Belial (a rather unusual deal with a devil), he's out to build his kingdom, destroy his former clan (or anything that stands in his way), and marry a beautiful noblewoman. Of course, finding like minded individuals surely makes his goals easier to achieve.

All the details on Narvolo can be found in his profile, including detailed background. The crunch is there as well or you can look here for an easier to view version. The one thing that will seem odd is that he uses the flexible human racial trait, so the 23 point-buy won't appear to add up unless you take this into account.

As for posting, I am retired and I run an online game here on the forums as well where we post multiple times a day and have been running that game for about 5 months.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

I would like to submit Piotr for consideration. I haven't completed buying all the goods he'll need yet, but otherwise he is complete.

background:
Growing up in the far northern reaches of Brevoy, Peter is used to the harsh winters and rugged conditions of the region. Piotr was an outcast in the town he lived in. He thought it was because of his good looks and strength. The reality is that it was due to his terrible nature. Piotr killed his first animal at the young age of 7. It was a neighbor's pet. He claimed it growled at him, but he really just wanted to see what would happen when he took his knife to its gut.

The killings continued in his teens, but noone could prove it was him, but they all knew. At 14 Piotr was sent to the study the crafting of weapons with a nearby Dwarven hold. He never took to his studies, and the Dwarves sent him home within weeks.

At 18 he decided to head south and become an Aldori Swordlord. He struggled with techniques as they required speed more than strength. Each time he was beaten in sparring match he became angry. Several students would turn up with bruises and broken bones, unwilling to say what happened, but the teachers knew, for each had just won a match against Piotr. Piotr was thrown out of the school. Two weeks after, the teacher that threw him was found dead. Piotr is now heading south again to escape justice and maybe found a kingdom at the same time.

Physical Description:
Piotr is a towering well muscled man with shoulder lenght blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. His body is covered in scars due to his many fights through the years, but his face is unmarked.

BTW, why no drow allowed? They are one of the iconic evil races.

gresch555 here presenting Pavanna Crispin, a pious young bard who wants to spread the word of Asmodeus.

Background:

Orphaned at the tender age of five during the Goblinblood Wars, Pavanna Crispin was taken in by one of the monasteries set up by the church of Asmodeus. Raised on a draconian regimen of discipline and religious indoctrination, she quickly was turned into a pious follower of the Prince of Darkness. In order to discover how she could best serve her faith she was educated in a diverse curriculum including religious studies, history, martial skills, magical theory, and classical torture techniques. However, the subject that Pavanna truly excelled at was music. Her singing voice had a beautiful tone, darkly romantic with a delightfully subtle undercurrent of evil in every note.
The Devil Nuns of the monastery saw potential in her raw talent. The faith of Asmodeus had always had some trouble attracting new followers outside of Cheliax. A girl with a pretty voice had a way of persuading people to convert that temptations of power could not. It was an opportunity too good to pass up. They made sure every spare moment Pavanna had was spent on practicing singing and the harp. Her teachers' demands were cruel. They tasked her with memorizing new songs in a single day, made her play the harp til her finger's were bloody, and made her restart songs from the beginning any time she made a mistake. Anything less then perfection was unacceptable. Her only relief from her torturous music lessons were sleep and the daily services to Asmodeus. She still had to sing at the ceremonies, but the unholy hymns were delightfully simple compared to what her teachers made her learn. Although she found her existence absolutely torturous at the time, she has to admit it has made her a brilliant performer.

Once she turned 16, Pavanna was deemed ready to leave the monastery. Her former teachers tasked her to travel to Brevoy to help bolster the ranks of a newly established temple. She has spent the last three years leading their choir in hymns to Asmodeus and helping them try to attract new members. Her street performances and concerts at the church have had some small successes in attracting new followers, but so far the citizens have not been overly receptive to the Prince of Darkness's message. She finds her position tolerable, but she'd rather be spreading the word of the Prince of Darkness in a nation more supportive of his message.

In an attempt to improve their temple's negative reputation, the Temple's High Priest has ordered Pavanna to join the expedition to the Stolen Lands. With the hellish training she endured throughout her childhood he figures she's as good a choice as anyone. Eliminating bandits accomplishes two goals for the temple: punishing those unwilling to follow the law, tricking the people of Brevoy into thinking that the church cares about them and wants to protect them, and building a case against kicking the church out of the country for their supporters in the government. Pavanna has taken to the task with enthusiasm, hopeful that success will raise her status in the church's hierarchy enough for her to pick her next assignment.

Madeion: Thanks for your replies. Presenting Mellisan Astradax, tiefling (Devil-spawn) inquisitor. One more question: may I re-flavour the “Brigand” trait to “Bounty hunter”? Same bonuses, same dealings with bandits, just a different perspective.

I was thinking of giving her the Amateur Gunslinger feat, as I like the idea of the sulphur/brimstone theme, but it's not an essential part of the concept and based on your comments above I haven't included it. Crunch will follow later on.

Introduction:

Mellisan narrowed her eyes, glaring at her map of the Greenbelt. Her tail swished in annoyance. Totally inadequate. It appeared that the entire landscape consisted of greenery and the occasional ruin. No temples, no marketplaces, no taverns, no – she shuddered – no hot baths, no slaves to look after her.

”Trees! Wildlife! What use are they?!” she muttered to herself. All they did was provide cover for the scum who lived here: oathbreakers, fugitives from the law. The very thought of their existence here offended her to the core. There should be no hiding place for such as they. She would see to that herself. Most of her eighty-something years had been spent tracking down scum and subjecting them to the law of Asmodeus. The wilderness promised discomfort, but no fear.

The tiefling woman blinked suddenly as her perspective on the map changed completely: now she saw it as a blank canvas, awaiting her touch. The temples, taverns, marketplaces, slave-pits: they were all there, just waiting for one with vision to bring them into being. Oh yes. She would bring Order to this place; and if she had to burn every tree and kill every living being to do so – well, it would just take more time that way. Obviously, she would rather have living converts to the cause of Hell, but either way she would manage.

Opening her wineskin, the inquisitor allows the faintest trickle of wine (a fine Chelish red, the taste of home) into her mouth, just enough to get a taste. She will indulge herself once the hunt is over, once she has sacrificed.

Melissan smiles and it is cruel.

Background:

Born in Cheliax, Mellisan has laboured under two great disadvantages: a tiefling in a country where such spawn are looked on as second-class citizens; and an Asmodean order that is strongly misogynistic. She has therefore had to work twice as hard, and be twice as good, simply in order to be considered half as useful. Fortunately for her, this has not been difficult.

From an early age, she was instructed in what was expected of her. Her insightful mind was noted, and she came to the attention of the church of Asmodeus quite rapidly. Refused admission into the priesthood (she suspects on account of her race and gender, but can prove nothing), she was however permitted to act on their behalf as an agent. Her assignments generally involved bringing the Law to those fleeing from it, and she has developed a significant reputation as a skilled bounty hunter.

Even those outside Cheliax have employed her, appreciating the advantages of her nightvision and single-minded ruthlessness. In such cases “dead or alive” has meant plain dead, and if the corpses bear the scars of ritual sacrifice in addition to the wounds of battle, no one (so far) has made a fuss.

More recently, the church of Asmodeus grows restless. Cheliax is theirs, but the rest of the world awaits. Unwilling to provoke outright conflict by invasion, they have sent Mellisan to one of the more disordered regions: the River Kingdoms. Her instructions are simple: bring glory to Asmodeus. She plans on bringing some glory on herself, too. Setting up a kingdom of her own would advance her very far in the Asmodean order of things.

Description:

With her blood-red hair, yellow eyes that (sometimes) glow infernally in the dark, her pointed ears that resemble horns, and her forked tail, Melissan could never be mistaken for anything other than a tiefling. The silver Asmodean star that hangs around her neck proudly proclaims her allegiance to the Prince of Hell, Lord of Order. At just over 5 feet tall (5 ft 2 inches, to be precise - and Melissan is precise), she is shorter than most women; but her fiendish blood gives her a surprising strength and an almost unholy resilience. Individuals who underestimate her based on her size tend to regret it, although sometimes not for long.

Mellisan craves order and structure. The higher up that structure that she can get herself, the happier she will be. Her time as a bounty hunter means that she is used to working with those she would otherwise disagree with strongly; she has actually come to enjoy working with priests and agents of Good, seeing an opportunity to corrupt them to a different service. She will also work with Chaotics, reluctantly, using them to serve a greater purpose. She is more personable than many tieflings, and can make friends easily when she chooses. She recognises the utility of friendship, and prefers to work amicably with people rather than squabble. If she has given her word, she will stick to it; but only to the letter of the agreement, not the (so-called) “spirit” in which it was made. In this, she follows her patron Asmodeus.

Mellisan dresses well, even in her utility clothing. Her armoured coat is well-cut and close fitting; her weapons and buckler are of good quality and her longbow is of elven make. She does enjoy the opportunity (when she can get it) to dress up: better clothes indicate a better status, and Mellisan is ultimately all about status.

I know that you already answered the races question, but I'm gonna try and make an appeal to the nostalgia center of your brain.

Skezok is vain, self absorbed Tengu magician. A wicked and slovenly cleric the crow was raised in the servant's quarters of a Tian Xian (or whatever, my golarion knowledge is limited) noble's estate. He spent many years watching the hedonism and cruelty of her masters, watching them live a life of decadence with a nary a care. Skezok, just older than a hatchling, made a vow that someday he would wear only the most valued finery, drink only the finest of wines, he swore to himself that he would be a king, but not just a king...the king of kings, a god king.

Technically a cleric of urgathoa, Skezok is a magician who reveres hedonism, gluttony, vanity, and dominance. He wears many layers of tattered silks, hiding his wretched body.

GM; i'm interested and will be pitching a character. I'm wondering if you would allow a Hobgoblin? Seems to me very suitable for Tyrantmaker.

Ok, so I came up with an idea, fleshing it out currently. Before I continue though, I'd like to know if archetypes from other sources than your listed ones are perhaps valid?
Specifically I was looking at the Lotus Geisha from: http://paizo.com/products/btpy8pg0
The "Tian flavor" is pretty much just different weapon proficiencies.

Alternatively, if you would allow a human to take the Deadly Courtesan Rogue archetype?

Runge's submittal: Eudomia "Amber" Mirabelle. A former courtesan seeking power for herself.

For your consideration, my goblin ranger.

Dotting to create a Sorcerer with the Razmiran Priest archetype to go for the High Priest position. I'll see if I can put something together before the deadline. Likely take the Brigand campaign trait since even brigands need something to believe in.

Dotting to create an elven hexcrafter Magus.
More to come.

Dotting interest. I've been away from PBP for a while but I think its time that I make my comeback.

I'm thinking about submitting a Half-Orc Barbarian going into Assassin at later levels.

Dotting for a kuthite cleric.

Seeing the influx of martial characters we already have I'm going to switch this up and do a Dhampire cleric of Zon-Kuthon.

Are you allowing the playtest classes from advanced class guide by any chase? I will gladly switch over when it releases in a couple weeks at GenCon if allowed.

Edit: DRAT beaten out by Havocprince. Well back to the drawingbored for me...

Edit x2: Would you be okay with a warpriest?

Ninja and Samurai, for example, would need a really awesome backstory giving them an excellent reason for being in the particular area.

I dont intend to make either class, but cant one simply refluff them? I mean does a "Ninja" necessarily have to be associated with the eastern influences the class is based on? Same for the Samurai. I mean noone ever bans the Magus archetype Kensai, even though that word and the idea behind it is every bit as rooted in that culture. Just a thought.

Either way, I'm trying to decide between a Magus, or a summoner where the summoner himself is the strong warrior, and the Eidolon is the clever one of the two, a small sized servant sent from the abyss to guide and protect its master who apparently has an important part to play in a much greater scheme, even though he doesn't know this himself.

In other words, this is an elaborate dot.

I'm particularly fond of Way of the Wicked, and this sounds like it could be in the same vein with some nation building... fantastic.

Anyway, originally I had asked about drow, but I've decided to scrap that in favor of submitting this human Cleric of Gorum with the bastard trait.

Wow. I'm the only one willing to commit to CE?

Question: Do you mean that we select two traits, including one from the Kingmaker Player's Guide?

My submission!

Rosemary was a bizarre orphan. A Dhampir in Brevoy she was villainized and demonized. Which much to the surprise of the other children and the home mothers, she reveled in. She spent most of her childhood life admiring the swordlords and began to practice when she could, with a caravan guard here or there, or a when she got a bit older, traded with town guards for other "favors".

She was beautiful and pale. Small and dangerous. Eventually she was introduced to the Worship of Zura, the Vampire queen. Unlike many of her kind Rose emulated vampirism and was impressed with it more than repulsed by it. She yearned to become a full Vampire, yearned for power, and she would do anything to get it. Kill, lie, use sex, cheat. Whatever it took.

She has been working her way up through Restovian politics, sticking to backroom intrigue and discretely killing. This charter was a chance to get directly involved. Away from the nobles who had the power in Restov choke held for the next five generations.

Goals:
To become a vampire (acquire template)
To rule a dark land with a vampiric aristocracy.
To become a dark queen loved and feared.
To become a legendary killer and swordmaster. (Assassin PrC)

Quick question DM, how do you feel about the PFS craft feat trades for Wizard and Alchemist? Would you allow a player to take the other option (Spell Focus for Wizard and Extra Bombs for Alchemists respectively)

It's not a matter of being willing to commit to CE, it's more of a matter of playing an alignment that fits your character. Certainly Chaotic anything is my favored alignment, but not quite what I envision this character being.

I also welcome the chance to play a Lawful character ...I've done so rather seldomly.

Okey dokes, here we go. Here is the full submission for Tanner Nielsen. I noticed in your character creation guidelines that material from Psionics Unleashed would be accepted, and the Dread class seems perfect for this kind of campaign.

Majarian "Mawj" Whitesmith
LE Tiefling (Rakshasa) Dread

Party Role: Skirmisher and Party Face. Mawj relies on his Devastating Touch melee touch attack in combat, which combined with Two-weapon Fighting allows him to deal a respectable amount of damage with a high degree of success. Once he begins to gain Dread Terrors, he will specialize in disabling targets with poor Will saves such as tanks and meat-shields. He is lightly armored and will stay on the outskirts to avoid being surrounded. In social encounters, he is maximized for Bluff (+8, +12 when telling lies) and Intimidate (+9). He can also cast detect thoughts as a spell-like ability thanks to his race, and has the mindlink psionic power to circumvent any language barrier.

Preferred Kingdom Role: Councilor - "The councilor ensures that the will of the citizenry is represented." shaped according to need."

Description:

Hair: Brown
Eyes: Yellow
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 150lb

You see a scruffy-looking man with closely-cropped brown hair and beard, and tanned skin. His eyes are bright yellow, with flecks of orange near the iris. He has a thin nose, high and sharp cheek bones, pointed ears, and a strong jaw. A pair of curved ram's horns sprout from his head and curl around his ears. He is dressed in black leathers and a black hooded cloak. He wears a dagger at his belt and a longbow strung across his back. He is tall, with a slim frame and straight posture.

Personality:

No one would ever call Mawj a friendly person. Or nice, or caring, or warm, or anything of that sort. He has a tendency of scaring children and the elderly who cross his path, and a disconcerting disregard for people around him. Professional? Of course. Competent? Very much. Meticulous? Sometimes tediously so. But never friendly. It is difficult to know whether or not Mawj cares for or approves any person or thing in particular - most of the time he is quick to recognize faults, especially his own, and is terse with praise. He is the sort of person you want tackling a tough project, but would never invite to a dinner party. Not that it would have bothered him, of course.

Background:

Majarian Whitesmith was born a bastard in the city of Restov. His mother was a minor noblewoman of House Rogarvia, who conceived him after a brief tryst with a shadowy merchant envoy from Qadira. Unfortunately for her, that envoy was a rakshasa in disguise, and nine months later her baby was born with horns and yellow eyes.

As you can guess, this was received poorly. She was stripped of her babe and sworn to secrecy, relocated to another part of Brevoy. The word was spread that her baby had died in childbirth, and young Majarian was abandoned anonymously at a church of Abadar. Had he been found by a wise and kind cleric, he might have been taught in the ways of righteousness and honor. But fate intervened in the form of a hooded figure who passed by the church, saw the deformed child, and took it away in the darkness of the night.

Instead, Majarian was raised by a witch of Asmodeus, who saw potential in the young tiefling. She adopted him, named him, and raised him. He spent his childhood in a small village on the outskirts of the Grozni Forest. Early in his upbringing, the witch sensed a latent psionic ability in the boy, and through hours of meditation and rigorous mental exercise was able to bring his abilities to fruition. He was a dread, and had within him the ability to summon unnatural terror and fear in those around him. He kept his powers well-hidden, and practiced them away from the prying eyes of the local villagers.

In time, he became a man, and bid farewell to the only mother he ever knew. He came to Restov, initially with the intention of signing on as a sword-coin to make some money before moving on to politics, where his powers and skills might be put to their best use. However, he noticed a posting looking for stout and sturdy adventurers to help tame the Green Belt. After some consideration, he decided that forming his own aristocracy would be easier than ingratiating himself into an old one, and reported himself for a commission.

Withdrawing Molos, but not interest...

GM how common is psionics in your golorian? Or is it the relic of a lost civilization (conveniently located in the Stolen Lands)? As I am eyeballing a psionic character of some sort (a psionic ruin raiding Artificer Wilder for instance)...

I'd really enjoy playing in this! Kayan is my Oracle LvL 1 evil healer ... profile has all the info ... Thanks in advance for looking!

I'll get a pic up later tonight, Cheers
