Backstory:
Thakus grew up as the only half-human in the Gruktuk orc tribe. Constantly bullied for being weak, Thakus had to develop a different way of fighting. He learned how to be smarter than his opponent, and though he didn't win every battle, he managed to hold his own more often than his tribemates expected from such a weakling.

His above-average wits got the attention of the tribe shaman, who, seeing Thakus as a potential successor, taught him the magic of their patron god, Gorum. This helped his standing in the tribe, because he could now augment his subpar fighting abilities with divine magic. But his physical weakness continued to be a point of ire. Being a shaman's apprentice did not prevent him getting his teeth rubbed in the dirt, and there were those in the tribe who resented a chosen of Gorum being such a weakling. Eventually Thakus decided he would rather be a half-orc in the company of humans than a half-human in the company of orcs.

Personality:
Thakus grew up solving his problems with violence, as orcs usually do, so he has a lot of unlearning to do. Though strong by human standards, he's quite weak by orc ones and is used to being treated as such. In combat he'll often deal lots of damage and then apologize that it wasn't more.
