The question could still be valid even without prior knowledge. It is common knowledge that we captured the necromancer, who would've had a spellbook. He could have assumed we'd take it.

Ahh but he could have been a sorcerer, oracle, cleric, lots of ways to summon dead.
I didn't know Formula Alembic was a thing. Very cool, it gives the alchemist the same ability that wizards/witches use to get spells out of scrolls, but with potions in this case.
Spellbook:
Some of these spells (such as the animate dead spells) were received early due to his class abilities. You must prepare them at their respective witch level.
I grant you the ability to learn wizard spells that are not on the witch spell list. However, you must prepare such spells with a spell slot 1 higher than normal.

It takes 1 hour to attempt to learn a spell. After the hour, make a spellcraft check. Writing a spell into a spellbook (or in your case a harrow deck) takes time and money, but no skill check is required.

Especially since its so goddamned cheap. I'm going to have to update my character sheet and look for more cool alchemical magic items.
Well wizards/witches can do it for free, but in return the scroll is destroyed. You have to pay to do it, but the potion remains intact. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but don't potions cap at 3rd spell level?

I'd have to check but I'm pretty sure I can do scrolls too. Besides, level three is half the levels of spells I get to use anyways
And besides, I can keep the potions after everything and sell them back or spread them among the party for emergencies.
I just wanted to send out a quick congratulations for Brelin and Wabbit, who just passed their first year with us a few days ago. It's not easy to keep up the habit of posting for a full year, so thank you for your continued support. Both of you have very interesting characters who bring a whole different view of the world.
Congratulations. So I suggested we do a secret santa exchange to Fox and he liked the idea. I was figuring we'd fill out our wish lists with a few digital items and I found an online site to assign our santas. I know this time year money's tight this time of year so easy way to opt in is to just post your email with your character profile and I can do the rest. What do you guys think?
HP 55/63; DR: 4/8; Initiative +2; AC/Touch/FF 21/12/20; Fort/Ref/Will 9/4/6 (+4 morale bonus vs. spells, supernatural abilities, and spell-like abilities while raging; +2 resistance vs. evil) ; CMD 24; Perception +8
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
I must say I am kinda leaning to 'no' (Internet + money + people I do not really 'know' makes a pretty powerful mix in my book), but I'd like to take a look at the site before making a final decision.

Wow! Hard to believe it's been a year. Doesn't feel anywhere near that long. Which is good as it means I'm truly enjoying the game. Happy holidays everyone ;)
definitely not trying to be humbuggy...but count me out on the secret santa...I'm still not done with xmas shopping and don't want to add to the list
I am almost done with Christmas shopping, just waiting for the steam sale to finish it up. So I'll give it a try. Since Wabbit is out, he could just randomly draw and pm us our victim... I mean present-giver-to-er
I'm giving unicorn poop toilet bombs at the company santa thing tomorrow. And a 5 pound bag of THOSE gummy bears from amazon. So digital is probably safer.

Those gummy bears? Are we talking bag of dicks? Because that is a thing. A bag of gummy dicks.
Nope, that would get me sent to HR and those people scare me. Naw, the gummy bears in question are famous only for their lovely reviews of explosive anal leakage when consuming vast quantities of them.
....Wow. Given your wholesome character I would not have guessed that you were chaotic evil in real life. By the way, bag of dicks can be sent anonymously.
My secret santa person is an intern, being evil to them doesn't count. :)
Sigh... no, even when I'm being evil I can't do it right. The intern's gift is properly labeled as something to give to her enemies, not to eat herself, so it is not being evil myself but facilitate someone else's evil.
Treasurefox, just to be clear, the locals don't know me from a bump on a log with the exception of Brodert. To maintain story immersion I do feel it's best that I pay.
I agree. Ameiko charges 5sp for a meal (good quality food), and 1gp for a night (fairly nice accommodations). You're not required to stay here if you don't want to. Sandpoint has so many inns and taverns that it makes my head spin.
You can pick up trail rations from the general store really quick and easy. I usually don't worry about them unless you're going on a long trip, but it's appreciated.
Right. Yes everything checked out. I did notice that you wrote potions at the bottom, but you didn't specify any potions. If you do buy some potions, just let me know where you buy them from.
That's because I different potions cost different amounts of gold so I was looking for ones to add to my formula book... Seems like the only one I might be able to afford after all that is the keen senses potion. Which, mostly useless to me but could come in handy down the line once I take the infusion discovery.
I think we've got 3ish days before I rotate the items. If you'd like to request something, you can definitely do that. There's a fee to it, but it's pretty minor. Don't ask how they ship the special request so quickly XD

Guys, just to let you all know the next couple days will be busy with New Year and traveling, so I will probably resume posting only on the 3rd January ;)
Helgarr is ready to go though - just a note to say during boat travel she will wear her lighter armor - MWK Chain Shirt.
A small brightly colored gnome watches from the front row. He shakes his head solemnly which looks ridiculous with the large mushroom cap on his head with the Peacock feather plume sticking out of it.
So may I present Wilhim, a pink and green mottled maniac with electric blue hair and a massive preserved mushroom cap on his head decorated with several brightly colored peacock feathers sticking out of it.
