Sad to hear - hope we get another chance to meet around the boards.
DM TreasureFox
Yeah I'm disappointed, but at the same time I didn't find it too surprising. Its just... man I really liked that character.
In terms of the game, I hope you all don't mind if Mar'a just *poofs* away. We could say that she decides to move back to her tribe.

Sorry to hear that M'ara.

People, just wanted to let you know I am going on vacations with my family next Monday, and won't be back until Sunday.
Tomorrow I am probably available to post, and during the remaining days I should have access to a laptop and internet, but as you may presume, RPG is not going to be a priority during these days - it is possible that I may drop a line or three, but feel free to bot me at any given point if needed.
Helgarr
I actually got a lot of them - I'll have a write up in the morning, that ok?
Cleo Gingerberry
Family before forums. Have a great vacation.
Helgarr
Thanks Cleo, I intend to ;)
So, 'downtime' actions that would be interesting for Helgarr:
- Finding who the parents of the dead children are, and offer her service in whatever way possible to amend for the fact they were unable to save the child;
- Assist in rebuilding whatever structures were damaged by the goblin attacks, maybe burnt down;
- Offer to assist in town patrols by speaking with Sheriff Hemlock;
- Important one: Going to meet Garrigan Viskalai at the White Deer, and make amends for their initial not so amicable contact. Helgarr feels somewhat ashamed at her own reaction, and is intent on setting things straight, and acknowledging the man's strength. Her tribe respects their elders.
How's the list? Enough to work with? :D
DM TreasureFox
That would work well, Helgarr! I think I'd put you on rebuild and patrol duty, just cuz it'll be easy to ask for some profession checks. There's still plenty of work to be done, so no one would say no to an extra pair of hands. When you have time, please make a profession check that you think Helgarr could do to help. You can consider yourself trained for these tasks.
I'd shy away from the parents part, since I'd guess that most parents who've lost their child would really just want peace. Maybe some financial aid, but above all - peace. (Though to be fair, I'm 22 and have absolutely no experience in that realm)
And I'd also shy away from meeting with Garrigan because I would want to roleplay that with you properly. We'll save it for a later time when you're back and the party has a bit of a rest.

Letting all my games know: I am planning a trip to my sister's next weekend, and they don't have internet. I will be leaving after work Friday and won't be back till some time Sunday. Might go see a friend who does have internet, but I don't know how often, if any, I'll get to post.

While we're waiting on a few posts, I just wanted to touch base with you guys. How're you all enjoying the campaign so far? Any comments or recommendations? Too many side quests, not descriptive enough, too fast/slow paced? I'd just like to know how you're all feeling and what you'd wish to see.
Korak The Boisterous
I honestly don't care about the pace one way or another so long as the roleplaying is strong and fun. And it really is so far.

It is feeling a little slow to me, but that's just because I'm used to fast-paced storylines in a campaign. In my home games, the GM always had us working on stuff directly relevant to the main quest and never really had any downtime. Otherwise, I like it so far. You run a good game, Fox!
DM TreasureFox
Thanks guys. To Vandra, the side quests are optional, so if you want to encourage your party members to focus on the task at hand, that's totally do-able. Technically though, I haven't presented the next task, because this is a good lull in the book and I wanted to give an opportunity to make use of craft, profession, or to explore what Sandpoint has to offer. I figured on top of that, I could add a few side quests along the way for extra gold/exp (something that the book as written tends to... be on the limited side of things.) I'm very glad that you're enjoying it though. I really am.
Rise of the Runelords is an adventure path that I'd like to become a master of, and I've learned a lot from the last few groups I've run through. I've only been a DM for 3 years now.

Well the experience certainly shows. I need to go speak to the guy at the theater soon since Maria's goal of entertainer still exists. And the story of the goblins will make a great dramedic piece.
Cleo Gingerberry
I'm enjoying it, the town is much more than a series of stats now.

Good point Cleo, feels like a living breathing place where s### happens.
Korak The Boisterous
I'm sorry I'm sorry. It was just too good an opportunity to pass up. I really hope I didn't just get Vandra killed....
Korak The Boisterous
Anyways, yes. Maria wants to change, but she's falling back into bad habits. But without rolls to show me what happened, I'm guessing you're previewing for the chance to describe the actions like I do.

By the way, there should be some kind of event to keep him here, otherwise Vandra and Jeaux will leave. Remember, what he did to his mother is a very sore subject for him, so bringing it up in that kind of situation will escalate quickly. I really hate doing this, but it is what the characters would do.

I figured it was more of a roleplay thing than an attack, but if the GM says to roll one, I don't have a problem doing it. Got to say, wasn't expecting this to happen when I woke up!
