Dreaming Warforged Recruiting for a Jade Regent PbP AP

-Tora no Senaka-
Trouble with Goblins can lead to many places, even the other side of the world...

As a goblin threat is dealt with, an old secret is exposed and a close friend discovers she is meant to rule the empire of Minkai, one of the ancient Dragon Empires of Tian Xia.

Claiming her birthright promises to be no small feat though, as the throne is already held by a powerful foe, the Jade Regent, but first she needs to get there, and for that alone will need the help of friends and allies, for she must cross from Varisia to Tian Xia, across the very Crown of the World.

Recruitment Information:

What to Expect
I prefer games that lie heavily in the gray zones of morality, where the players are torn between what it means to do the right thing. I also prefer fewer but meaner encounters, with challenging situations and terrain. So if you make a “big stupid fighter” that can’t move around, chances are you’ll have a hard time.

I’m not the DM who can easily quote RAW, and I have my own interpretation of rules as they pertain to situations. As such, I sometimes (probably often for certain) make rulings as I see fit and do not wish (especially since a written medium is so poor for conflict resolution) to have many long discussions on rules.

The Jade Regent AP is not a sandbox and APs require a fair bit of railroading. Players should expect this to a certain extent and play along, for the sake of the story.

The adventure is about travel and survival in foreign countries. It is also built around the community of a caravan and takes relationships into account, with new rules depicted in the Players Guide. Please have a close look at those and make sure you’re okay with this addition.

I’m not very fond of the multiplication of magic items, especially when we get to the point where they loose their special quality. As such, access to magic item will be strict. You could say that it will be a low magic world in a sense. I’m still not sure what crafting feats I will allow.

The challenge of running an AP in a PbP is mainly keeping the pace and getting through the whole thing. To that effect, players need to post regularly and announce their absence in advance. Also, I will try and regroup encounters and move the story forward by all means possible. I will also skip certain parts or narrate them if I feel they don’t bring a lot to the story. I also won’t use XPs but instead base leveling on where the characters are in the story.

Requirements

  • Start at level 1.
  • No evil.
  • 20 point-buy for attributes, no score above 18 or below 8, after racial adjustments.
  • Races allowed: Core only. Most characters should have ties to Varisia, the Land of the Linnorm Kings or to Minkai.
  • Classes allowed: Pathfinder Core and APG, except the following: Gunslinger, Paladin, and Summoner. Players wishing to present characters using the Monk, Ninja or Samurai classes should have strong ties to the Empire of Minkai, better yet, be from a family of former retainers to the Lonjiku family of Sandpoint. Archetypes are allowed.
  • One campaign trait from the Player’s Guide
  • An extra feat taken from the following list: Acrobatic, Alertness, Animal Affinity, Athletic, Cosmopolitan, Deceitful, Deft Hands, Great Fortitude, Iron Will, Lightning Reflexes, Magical Aptitude, Persuasive, Self-Sufficient, Stealthy, Skill Focus.
  • Starting cash is average for level 1.

Applications should contain

  • Character sheet (equipment optional) with at least one skill point in a knowledge and one in a profession or mundane craft (not alchemy for example) that relates to your character’s work.
  • Description
  • Personality
  • Motivation
  • Background (see below)

Regarding Background
Your background should address, either implicitly or explicitly:

  • The reason why you’re in Sandpoint and whether you’re a local or visiting.
  • The main NPC you are connected to.
  • Three significant events in your life that shaped who you became and why you would leave everything and travel to the end of the world.
  • A clear reason why you would stand up and go bring the fight to pesky Goblins.
  • A cherished item of importance for you.
  • Your job or occupation in Sandpoint (how do you make a living).

Finally, make sure your application presents ties to the Golarion setting. Avoid bland and general backgrounds that would fit any game or setting.

Please make sure you’ve read the requirements carefully before submitting an application.

Recruitment will close next Sunday, at the time of this posting.

Question. Is it the standard two traits with one needing to be a campaign trait, or only the one campaign trait?

The standard two traits have been replaced by one campaign trait plus one feat from a short list (presented above).

Interested, and would like to make my favorite, an Elven rogue. I haven't played one in a LONG time.

Consider this dotted, and I will build a profile.

Interested, and have a character for JR that wasn't picked. I'll double check if it still valid by you character creation rules.

So we only get a campaign trait, no other traits?
I'm surprised bonus feat list does not include "Addition traits" if other traits are allowed not given.

Sounds quite interesting. I will be applying with a half-orc ranger. I will work on the character and the application in the next hour.

Definitely interested, will have an application up by tomorrow. I'm thinking either a Cleric or Barbarian. Or maybe a Paladin.

Dark Archive

I have been Itching to try a Winter witch from Inner Sea magic, I'll put something up Monday.

This sounds great! I like the low-magic and 'gray' morality tone. I have an idea for a Varisian seer oracle of either nature or lore. I'll have an application up tomorrow.

I've really wanted to check out this AP so I'm happy to see a recruitment listed here. I've been on an Amon Amarth kick lately, so naturally I'd like to submit a human barbarian. The Rage Prophet Prc has been really calling to me lately so that is the direction he will progress.

Consider this a dot, I'll submit a background within a few hours. A character sheet will likely follow some time afterwards.

I'd like to submit my elven bard for your approval. I need to check character creation specs to make sure they match what you want but you can at least take a quick glimps at her. I also need to update her background.

Been thinking cleric or oracle if you're still looking for people.

Recruitment is open until next Sunday.

First set of changes complete for my bard. Just need to readd spoilers(for ease of reading) and come up with a background. I'll probably do that tomorrow as I'm a little busy now.

Here is the basis for my submission:

Lirrathan is Shalelu's younger brother. He came to Sandpoint because she seemed to be having fun here. He is fairly quick with his ideas, but he never thinks things through as much as he should. This makes him impetuous, and often gets him into trouble with the authorities. If it weren't for his older sister vouching for him, he probably would spend more time under Sheriff Hemlock's dutiful watch. He is always handy with a knife, and his sister has taught him plenty about getting along in the woods. He prefers to be around people as much as she spends her time alone. He's easy with a laugh, but verges on bipolar when it comes to flip-flopping, and because of this he doesn't tend to hold grudges since it doesn't take him long to find something else to focus his attentions on.

Taking:
Knife Master and Scout archetypes
The Younger Sibling trait
The Woodsman alternate racial feature
Alertness as a free feat

EDIT: I will have more information and better laid out when I get to work, as that it where my template is at. I will also submit my formal application then, I mainly just wanted to have one post with this alias so i can get back to it easier.

I wish to apply with Muugru. This is a very "unique" character and may or may not be suited for this campaign.

Muugru's history is on the profile screen. Here is a summary of who Muugru is:

- half-orc (human half is Tian) ranger raised with orcs and has only recently learned some common
- he was recently found near death on the road by Shalelu who brought him to town and gave him to a temple to be nursed back to health
- Muugru is fairly dim-witted and is not familiar with human towns
- Muugru never really fit in well in orc life and believes there is something more to life than killing and pillaging. He feels he has a calling, but has no idea what that is.
- Muugru is not well accustomed to thinking for himself and usually relies on a leader to make all his decisions for him.
- This character will under-go a transformation as he learns to fit into non-orc society.
- Muugru's alignment is true neutral which I would like to slowly transition to neutral good.

Questions Answered:

The reason why you’re in Sandpoint and whether you’re a local or visiting.
Only been in town for two weeks while being nursed back to health. The Temple of Sarenrae has been trying to acclimate him to human society, but his savage traits have made the process difficult and currently he is likely considered an outlaw to the authorities.

The main NPC you are connected to.
Shalelu. He owes her his life -- something he takes very seriously.

Three significant events in your life that shaped who you became and why you would leave everything and travel to the end of the world.
1. Becoming an outcast from his tribe.
2. Learned to become a caravan guard and really enjoying the traveling lifestyle.
3. Introduction to human society which has created the challenge of learning how to fit in.

A clear reason why you would stand up and go bring the fight to pesky Goblins.
They are the reason he became an outcast in his homeland, and they destroyed the only life he ever found satisfying. "Muugru hate goblins!"

A cherished item of importance for you.
Muugru has a silver ring emblazened with a jade gold dragon. The ring was said to have come from his birth mother who died giving birth to him. She, like most women were capture and enslaved to the orcs. His mother had apparently worn the ring around her neck on a necklace. His "father" talked proudly of how he stormed into a tall building and had snatched her during a raid. She had many servants who feebly tried to defend her. After taking her away and removing the ring from her, he said he quite enjoyed punching her with it -- but to fill the void of her passing, his "father" would routinely visit Muugru and punch him with it. When Muugru killed his "father", he was deemed worthy enough to fight with the orcs. Muugru really didn't have a great desire to fight in raids though and the only reason he killed his "father" was just to get the ring which he felt belonged to himself.

Your job or occupation in Sandpoint (how do you make a living).
Currently unemployed, but is inquiring to see if any caravans need a guard and are leaving relatively soon.

Trait: Rescued
Feat: Skill Focus (Stealth)
Variant: Ranger - Guide (APG)

Here is a character I made for another Jade Regent recruitment thread. Changes have been made to adapt to specific requirements. If more are needed, just say the word.

Throwing up a marker for later consideration of submission.

After re-reading the initial post, you've stated Core and APG only.

Does that mean that all of UM / UC and Paizo supplements are out? - or that you reserve the right to refuse?

You make mention of the Ninja and Samurai, which are only in UC, so I'm assuming UC is ok - just wanted to double check.

The Exchange

::drool::

I'll be back for this.

Submission forthcoming.

So dotted.

Liberty's Edge

Set, submitting idea #1, Garand Bloodhand, Shoanti Druid (bear-shaman).

Quote:
The reason why you’re in Sandpoint and whether you’re a local or visiting.

He seeks a family, a community to call his own, although he has yet to decide if Sandpoint would be that community, or if true community is not a place, but a group of people...

Quote:
The main NPC you are connected to.

Could be Shalelu, Kora or Shandru, depending on whom others choose. He's well-suited to either of those three.

Quote:
Three significant events in your life that shaped who you became and why you would leave everything and travel to the end of the world.

His birth to a mixed-Quah and ill-omened pairing, leading to him feeling like an unwelcome outcast among the Shoanti.

His trial to become a Bear-Shaman, facing a she-bear in her cave, and adopting her orphaned cub as his companion.

His arrival in Sandpoint, accompanying one of Sandru's caravans as guide, and encountered both Kora (who healed him back to consciousness after he fell in the fight) and Shalelu (who allowed him to stay in her rarely used 'home' while he recuperated, and taught him the rudiments of the elvish language).

Quote:
A clear reason why you would stand up and go bring the fight to pesky Goblins.

He fights to protect those he regards as the family he was denied by birth. Having suffered a goblin raid while working as a caravan guide and guard, he has a grudge against them, after having to remove one of their crude and ill-forged javelins from his bear-companion.

Quote:
A cherished item of importance for you.

A vaguely crescent shaped chunk of pumice worn on a leather cord around his neck, which he calls his 'stone of the moon.' He doesn't truly believe that it is a piece of the moon, but it is a symbol of his own nature, as a child of the Moon and Spire Quahs, a thing that, like a stone from the moon, should not exist, and yet does.

Quote:
Your job or occupation in Sandpoint (how do you make a living).

Guide and hunter, bringing in game and furs from the surroundings, to trade for goods, and escorting caravans to and from the area.

.

If Garand doesn't mesh well with the others, I've also got an idea for a Witch, Piet the Hag-boy, which hasn't been finalized yet (needs to be fluffed to fit Varisia, since he was written for a Serpent's Skull PBP).

Sorry about that. You can get things from Paizo books. Just make sure you identify the source if it is outside Core or APG.

Pathfinder Adventure Subscriber

I've got an idea for a Human Druid from land of the linhorm kings. I'll work on it, and get something up soon. Looks like a fun game.

Not a problem Bureaucracy of the Heavens, will ponder the matter further before reverting with an appropriate proposition.

Hello! I'm officially throwing my hat in the ring to "dot" as you so call it. I'll put a submission together soon, but be forewarned, I'm a newb to play by post. Be that as it may, I'm willing to dive in wholeheartedly to this campaign.

Thanks!

I was recruited for a JR game that never even made it to the main plot. However the character I had wont work for your rules. I will submit a Samurai instead. Good backstory I will throw up in a bit.

Dark Archive

I will read the player's guide to the ap then come up with something. I prefer to play an inquisitor. I assume since Gunslingers are not allowed, archetypes that feature guns are not also. Which is fine I am use to that from PFS.

Would you consider the Spherewalker prestige class for the future? Here is a character I had created for Curse of the Crimson Throne as a replacement, but I always thought he would work out well for a sandpoint campaign. If you don't mind working towards Spherewalker, I'll rework back to Level 1 (probably fighter), otherwise, I'll put together a different character.

This was a lot of work. Hopefully it is worth it.

Takeda’s Story:

Takeda Tojimaru is the son of the Tojimaru Samurai family. They were a proud people of Minkai and every warrior in the family served their lord diligently. They make frequent visits Varisia and to do business with the noble families of the state, mostly in the form of trade.
When Takeda was old enough to start his training, his father brought him with. This is when he met Ameiko. At the time Ameiko’s parent’s were still alive and her father and Takeda’s father were very good friends. The Rusty Dragon was a place that Takeda and his father visited every time they were in town. At their first meeting, Takeda’s father and Ameiko’s father had purposed a union between the two. This did not sit well with either Ameiko or Takeda. The two rejected the idea immediately. Though the two fathers were very persistent and had made a point to do whatever it took to bring the two children closer.
Several attempts to get the kids too at least play with each other finally bore fruit. Takeda and Ameiko found that they both loved to explore and adventure. They became friends rather than sweethearts and the two of them would get into all sorts of trouble.
As time went on and Takeda and Ameiko’s friendship grew, Takeda had begun to grow fond of her. As soon as he was of the age were he started to notice girls, he realized he had fallen for her. Though the feeling my not have been mutual. Takeda accepted this for now believing in the promise that their parents had made. For now, Takeda would solemnly swear to protect Ameiko. She simply laughed it off at the time but she soon began to notice the difference in how Takeda treated her. He trained hard in his samurai studies so that he could protect her. Every day he grew stronger. Also their adventures grew more dangerous as they got older. At one point, Takeda was ready to lay down his life to protect Ameiko from a gang of thugs. Fortunately his father showed up in time to save them. Takeda promised Ameiko he would get stronger so he could protect her.
Then it happened. Ameiko and Takeda’s families had a falling out. The Kaijitsu had offended the Tojimaru’s honor with a trade dispute where neither man was willing to admit to being wrong about the accusations. A bitter feud broke out. Takeda and his father stopped going to the Rusty Dragon and even talking with the family. Though Ameiko and Takeda were still good friends and Takeda had hoped the marriage would hold through, it didn’t. The two families called off the arrangement and Takeda was set to marry a beautiful nobleman’s daughter. Takeda wanted none of it. He still loved Ameiko.
Shortly after the arrangement was broken, the tragedy of sandpoint caused Ameiko’s entire family had passed leaving her in charge of the tavern. When Takeda heard the news he pleaded with his father to allow the marriage to go through. His father wouldn’t have it. He was still bitter about the incident and seemed glad that the Kaijitsus had died. Takeda could not believe that his father would simply discard a life long friend over a simple offense, but his father was a proud and stubborn man who would sooner cut out his own heart, or the heart of anyone else before admitting he was wrong..
The new arrangement had made Takeda very angry. He couldn’t stand the thought of marrying another when he was in love with Ameiko. The thought of her running the Dragon all by herself and the even more unbearable thought that she might wed someone else were to much for him to handle. One day, Takeda approached his father and announced his intentions to marry Ameiko. His father flew into a rage and before long, Takeda found himself banished, disowned, and completely alone.
This was a good thing. For Takeda set out at once for sandpoint. He had meant to purpose to Ameiko right away but it had been 7 years since their last meeting when Ameiko had settled in to her role as the proprietor for the Rusty Dragon. Also, Takeda had no idea how she would react to him as their families had not been on good terms and he was not able to contact her much since. For now he was content to simply try and rebuild their friendship. He was overjoyed when she expressed no hard feelings about the relationship between their families and was even more elated when she confirmed she was still single. The two quickly rekindled their friendship and Takeda had restated his promise to protect her. He took a job with the town guard and as a bouncer for the Dragon in the evenings. This allowed him to fulfill his promise and support the place. He would keep an eye on Ameiko, waiting for the opportunity to confess his affections for her. In the meantime, it was enough to simply be close to her. Soon after six months of protecting the town, Takeda soon felt the peace of a commoner. Not being a noble anymore has caused Takeda to be more humble and he liked the simple life. He wanted to protect the town not only for Ameiko, but for all the good people who lived here. This was his home now and he was determined to make his mark.

Description:

Takeda is about 5 foot 9 inches. He tries to look tough by making faces sometimes but it often looks like he’s pouting instead. He has a nice physical build and can often be seen wearing his kikko armor or traditional Minkai garb, often a samurai’s kimono. His jet black shoulder length hair is usually kept in a bushy messy looking pony tail. He has stubble but is usually quite clean despite his appearance.

Personality and Motivation:

Takeda holds himself to a fairly stoic persona whenever he is on duty but he is very friendly and helpful whenever he needs to be. His passion for Ameiko is well known as he has a bad habit of talking about her often. He enjoys playing odd games with other young men in town and always likes a good laugh or party, especially when it is at the Rusty Dragon.

Takeda is motivated to marry Ameiko. He does not believe his is worthy of marrying her yet as he has no real reputation in Sandpoint. He has only been living here for six months and has come to appreciate this town as his home. He wants to set himself up as a respectable individual here in town. Maybe some day become captain of the guard. He seeks to improve himself wherever he can and will do what is necessary to gain fame, fortune, and to be worthy to ask Ameiko for her hand in marrage. In addition, he wants to protect the good people of this town and his new home. Sandpoint is a new beginning for Takeda and he was ready to be his own man and gain fame all on his own.

For your benefit, I submit Ace Toreador, a sailor, dancer, and all-around awesome Bard (Using the Dervish Dancer Variant available from the UC).

Description:

A man standing around 6 feet in height, Ace doesn't truly wear many nice clothes. He prefers the garb of a sailor when out and about, the simple, rough cloth smeared with a little tar and smelling of salt seems to fit him perfectly. His hair is almost a platinum blond from all the time he has spent in the sun, and his skin sports a healthy tan. His eyes are deep blue.

Personality and Motivation:

Ace is man that seems to always be smiling. He always seems to have a joke or a riddle ready, and his day seems to be made whenever he can get anyone else to smile with him. Always looking on the bright side of things, Ace is the man who will find a way to brighten your day, even if he has to go out of his way to do it.

His primary motivation in life is to write the perfect story. One that defines a persons reason to live and the reason why we are all here. Thus he takes any opportunity he can to go on and adventure, to learn new things about people and the places he can go.

Background:

Why are you in Sandpoint?
Because the ship Ace is sails on is in for repairs, as well as picking up Cargo and/or passengers.

What NPC are you connected too?
Ameiko

Three Events that shaped your life, made you who you are.
1. Travelling Golarion with his mother and the gypsy band he grew up with.
2. Discovering his father lived, forgiving him.
3. Befriend Ameiko

Fighting Pesky Goblins
Some people fight the Goblins for money, others for Love. Ace fights for the story he can later tell.

What item is most important to you?
The Tambourine he was given from his father.

Job in Sandpoint
Sailor, and when not sailing, a dancer/storyteller in the Rusty Dragon.

A question, Dreaming. Does one need to have a point in a knowledge skill if they are a Bard, considering how Bardic Knowledge works now?

Here I present the beginnings of Sigmundr the Bear

Grand Lodge

Presenting Gathrix Darkwine.

Answers to Questions:

Why are you in Sandpoint?
I am protecting Koya, The Darkwines and the Mvashti are friends.
What NPC are you connected too?
Koya Mvashi
Three Events that shaped your life, made you who you are.
1 Being assigned to the Blackravens
2 Visiting Windsong Abbey and meeting the Mvashti
3 Revealing heresy within the Blackravens, causing Gathrix to be even more jaded.
Regarding Goblins
Goblins from Irisen have long been a foe of the Linnorm people. Blackravens constantly hunt these servants of the White Witches.
What item is most important to you?
Gathrix is a hardend soldier and travles light. His most important physical item is his Greatsword, for practical purposes and that is represents Gorum his God. The most important thing to him right now is his honor in upholding the promise to the Mvashti family, and the search for Glory and Strength.
Job in Sandpoint
I serve Koya in spiritual duties, though we have differant deities we find common ground on many issues, including protecting our homelands.
Disposition
Gathrix can be very devious when he wants to be, though often does not say a lot and instead watches others and how they act and react to things.

A list, as I am wont to do for my own inscrutable purposes that will hopefully also be of benefit to the Celestial Overlord (apologies if anything is incorrect or misrepresented):

"i have a blood-oath to Shalelu to repay. As such, I will do what must be done to protect her until I can repay my debt."

A few questions answered:
The main NPC you are connected to: Shalelu

Three significant events in your life that shaped who you became and why you would leave everything and travel to the end of the world.

1. My father working with wood as a prayer to Torag
2. The death of Ovik Redhand
3. Dedication to Torag
These are worked into the background story.

A clear reason why you would stand up and go bring the fight to pesky Goblins: Because they pose a threat to the people of Sandpoint and Torag will not stand for idleness in the face of chaos such as the goblins pose.

A cherished item of importance for you: My mother’s Torag amulet

Your job or occupation in Sandpoint: Carpentry, mainly chairs and cabinets, sometimes helping repair fishingboats

More background information is provided with the character profile.

I am thinking of submiting Sorin after a minor re-work. Much like Ace has done.

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

Will have something up on Tuesday.

I'll toss up a character for review. I won't do the crunch until I'm approved. But I'll answer all the questions. It sounds like you're looking for strong roleplayers that will post frequently to keep the campaign from moving too slow or drying up. I'm definitely able to do that. But we'll see if you go by background rather than comittment to the game. One thing I'm finding about about PbP is a lot of people show interest, but not many are very committed. Thus campaigns move at a snail's pace and generally lose momentum. I'm looking for a campaign with a DM that demands some committment from the players. As detailed as you have been with your requirements, this just might be a campaign of that kind. I'm the kind of player that will post every day multiple times and will make sure to help the campaign move along.

Now whether you like what I come up with for a character concept or not, we shall see.

@ Ace: Yes, at least one rank, it will give you a class skill bonus.

@ Maddigan: Good points. I'm looking for both I would say, as one shouldn't come at the expense of the other.

Crunch:
My character will be a Human Hungry Ghost Monk.

Stats: S 14 D 14 C 14 I 10 W 16 (with human bonus) Ch 10

Trait: Childhood Crush (Ameiko)
Free Feat: Alertness

Skills: Knowledge (Local) 1, Profession (Handyman) 1.

Appearance:
Raith is 6’1” and 187 lbs. He is lithe and muscular. He has a neatly trimmed goatee and moustache. His eyes are sharp and somewhat cruel. He wears a perpetually serious expression like a mask of grim indifference. He’s handsome with fair skin, dark black hair, and dark brown, almost black, eyes.

Personality:
Raith is quiet and withdrawn. He listens to Ameiko with sterling clarity, but not too many others unless he has an interest in what they’re saying. He’s a watchful man. He tries not to attract too much attention to himself. He’s a loner with few attachments in the world since his parents died. He doesn’t spend much time contemplating a future other than watching over Ameiko. He would like revenge on the goblins that killed his parents, but figures they were killed by the heros that came to Sandpoint years ago. He spends most of his free time practicing what Tsuto taught him, but he hasn’t had a chance to test it in a real fight. He would like to leave Sandpoint someday and the sense of loss the place carries with it, but so far his oath to Tsuto and his attraction to Ameiko is keeping him put.

Raith is a depressed soul finding purpose in his love for Ameiko and the duty put upon him by Tsuto. He sees happy times with his parents everywhere in Sandpoint, and leaving would do a great deal to dull the memories of his beloved parents.

Motivation and Background:
Raith grew up in Sandpoint. He is the son of Ram Shadar and Anna Brumbley. His father was a local deputy working under Sheriff Belor Hemlock. Both his father Ram and mother Anna were killed during a goblin attack on Sandpoint seven years ago when Raith was 16. Since that time Raith has done odd jobs about town and taken care of himself with a little help from kindly townsfolk like Belor Hemlock and Ameiko Kaijutsu.

Raith has a very strong crush on Ameiko and does whatever she needs about the bar. He spends most of his free time there. He sleeps very little and is often out at night.

It was during one of these nights out that he met a strange man. At first the man’s name was not known to Raith, but after a time he came to know the man as the notorious Tsuto Kaijutsu, Ameiko’s brother. As far as he knew Tsuto was supposed to be dead, but here he was looking as alive as himself. Tsuto offered to teach Raith how to fight telling the boy that he could protect himself and those he loved including his sister Ameiko. Raith agreed to learn from Tsuto. He trained with the man every night near the former glass works owned by Tsuto’s father.

Raith is not sure why Tsuto is training him, but he figures the man has some ulterior motive not yet revealed. The training has produced, Raith does indeed know how to fight and fight well with no weapons in hand as well as with sticks and some strange exotic weapons Tsuto had him make out of the surrounding materials.

Tsuto tells Raith to stay near his sister, watch over her, and make sure nothing happens to her. Raith is not sure why, but he continues to do so. He has become rather smitten with Ameiko and considers her care a joyful duty rather than a tedious chore.

Note: Tsuto is a ghost. He wants to be brough back from the dead and to take all his sister has including her Inn and everything the family left her. He is using Raith to that end.

Cherished Item:
A hooded wool coat his mother made for him on his last birthday to wear during the winter. She was always looking to make sure his clothes kept him warm and were in good repair. The coat's worn, but in useable condition. He always keeps it in good repair.

No problem with the prestige class.

Any way you see for me to be improved?

I don't see background, description, etc. It's hard for me to evaluate the crunch, though I don't see any problem from that point of view.

Celestial Bureaucracy:

I'd like to get approval on one item before polishing up my submission over the next couple of days.

Would you allow the Fighter archetype Lore Warden from the Pathfinder Field Guide - but without the ties to the Pathfinders?

Lore Warden Fluff:
Quick thinking and deception can often carry the day where raw force might not. Lore wardens are the bodyguards, guardians, and soldiers of the Pathfinder Society. Not only are they often called upon to protect and watch over important repositories of lore, but they themselves are impressive keepers of all manner of knowledge. Lore wardens are fighters who benefit from learning to outsmart and outmaneuver their foes rather than just overpower them. Even out of combat, lore wardens have a quick wit and a surprising breadth of knowledge that can often grant them significant advantages over enemies even before a battle begins. Indeed, for many lore wardens, a fight that can be won without a single weapon being drawn is the best kind of victory.

Lore Warden Crunch:
Scholastic (Ex): Lore wardens gain 2 additional skill ranks each level. These ranks must be spent on Intelligence-based skills. All Intelligence-based skills are class skills for lore wardens. This ability replaces the lore warden’s proficiency with medium armor, heavy armor, and shields.

Expertise (Ex): At 2nd level, a lore warden gains Combat Expertise as a bonus feat, even if he would not normally qualify for this feat. This ability replaces bravery 1.

Maneuver Mastery (Ex): At 3rd level, a lore warden gains a +2 bonus on all CMB checks and to his CMD. This bonus increases to +4 at 7th level, +6 at 11th level, and +8 at 15th level. This ability replaces armor training 1.

Know Thy Enemy (Ex): At 7th level, a lore warden can take a standard action to study a specific target in sight. He must make a Knowledge check to determine the target’s abilities and weaknesses as part of this standard action. If successful, the lore warden not only notes the appropriate abilities and weaknesses, as detailed under the Knowledge skill on page 100 of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook, but also gains a +2 competence bonus on all attack rolls and weapon damage rolls made against that enemy. Note that this bonus on attack and damage rolls applies only to that specific creature. This bonus lasts for the duration of an encounter, or until the lore warden attempts a new Knowledge check to use this ability on a different target. This ability replaces armor training 2.

Hair’s Breadth (Ex): At 11th level, a lore warden can attempt an Acrobatics check as an immediate action to negate a confirmation role for a critical hit. The critical hit confirmation is negated (though the attack still hits and deals normal damage) if the Acrobatics check is greater than the opponent’s confirmation roll. This ability replaces armor training 3.

Swift Lore (Ex): At 14th level, a lore warden can use his Know Thy Enemy ability as a swift action. This ability replaces armor training 4.

Know Weakness (Ex): At 19th level, a lore warden can automatically conf irm a critical hit once per round when he threatens a critical hit. This ability replaces armor mastery.

Character Very Brief:
Will be a Halfling Fighter, with strong ties to the Varisian lifestyle.
Employed by Sandru as a caravan driver and with appropriate skills.
In combat will be a support character mostly, using a whip and the feat chain for whips from Ultimate Combat.
The Lore Warden comes in from the desire to know the history of the Varisians and an intense interest in languages of past and present.

I'm thinking that an Ulfen, who spent all his time exploring dusty tombs, and ruins instead of out interacting with nature, might be fun for this campaign. I'm officially withdrawing my Druid Worldwalker, and changing the submission to a frail Ulfen Wizard (Primalist). Details to follow hopefully tonight.

The Character I'll use is a half-elf Ninja (I'll take a level or two in either ranger or monk later)

Consider my application removed, sorry about that.

The profile is finished. I am only missing the description of the trait I took, as I can't access it at work. All the fluff you requested is covered in the Backstory spoiler at the bottom.

Background is up and I swapped out my trait for the rescued trait. Let me know of any changes I can make to better improve my chances of playing in this campaign.

As requested, I picked up Knw: Geography (Figured it would be most appropriate for a sailor to have). Let me know if anything doesn't meet the requirements, as I think I have it.

I am interested. Will have to think about a character and get the sheet together. Will work on it tonight and should have something by tomorrow.

There was more than the background missing from the application. For one, I don't find description, motivation, reason to leave, and others.
