Sorry, I missed the post where you said the 'teifling' thing was a favor. I won't want to cause any problems.
Tho Alkenstar would be a fitting city of origin for an alchemist/gunslinger. I could go with half-elf, there are enough human candidates.
I was thinking it over, and I apologize if my note came out harsh. Please feel free to create the character concept you best want to play. As long as player drama does not end up in any kind of PvP I don't mind the occassional role-play sniping.
I've gone back to the "cursed" character, making sure he justifies his curse and the planned approach for lifting it. I don't think there would be much conflict, unless your pc is actively promoting hellish lifestyles or furthering demonic taints.
I'd be interested in seeing your tiefling backstory, or whichever race you choose. I have a soft spot in my own player background ever since I was a flintlock wielding Captain on the spelljammer "Grande Galleon."
DM Kalizar
So, I had a background written ...
** spoiler omitted **...
Background looks fine to me. Bellis may or may not enter much into the campaign, depending upon the players actions and travels. However, I can say the Lumber Consortium may well play a hand in events as they develop, and may give your character the opportunity to strike a blow for the common man, should the need arise.
DM Kalizar
The GM could fold space and terrain, if he wants to because it makes the world fit better.I've done it once or twice as GM.
No giving away trade secrets. We may have to confiscate your GM Screen if this keeps up. Next you'll be mentioning the Cass Scenic Railroad or Deus Ex Machina
Actually, the history of the region, with Droskar's volcano, evil men bent on power, and mad and twisted fey were too much not to work into the arc when I started looking at converting to Golarion. Dwarves turning to evil, werewolves leading hobgoblins, ley lines so dark even the Whispering Tyrant was intrigued. Yep, had to involve Darkmoon Vale.

ah not my custom made GM screen, as it has a nice custom rendering, I made on it.
Yes, I did make that rendering using Daz Studio

Great - so is this all you need for an application? I've got crunch partially done, will refine it a bit and post.

You didn't come off as harsh at all. And my concept was a more light hearted individual. One who excepts his heritage, but does not let it guide his life.
Ah, Spelljammer, I loved that setting. I have all three boxed sets and even read the first two novels.

Pulling back the hood of his cloak, the sinking sun highlights the rust colored flecks in his skin and the small tips of ivory horns poking out from charcoal grey hair. Often mistaken for freckles at a glance, a second look shows it obvious that they are anything but. Looking more like he walked into a mist of small rust flakes and some had embedded themselves into his skin.
Several long years had expanded his skills and his palette but he knew he still had much to learn. He brushes aside his cloak, letting his tail pull a piece of paper from his belt pouch and place it in his hand. He glances at the note briefly before using his tail to replace it and pulling the cloak back around himself. D’witt had heard of a potion maker in town, a one Spugnoir the Red according to the note he had made.
He pulled the hood back again. He was a friendly fellow, but sometimes others would judge him before he could make a proper greeting. But he was use to it, since he was young his mother taught him not to sink to the level of those people.
As he walks through Hommlet he contemplates some day returning to Alkenstar. To see his mother’s apothecary again and all the regular customers he had grown up knowing. To see what had become the other kids he had grown up with in since he left. But mostly to see his mother again.
Sure there had been an uproar when his outsider heritage became evident, But his mother had been steadfast in her refusal to discuss it. She would only say that his father was different and that she regretted nothing. He had learned to respect her for that.
Here's some fluff for the teifling version of the character, I just have to finish the crunch. Depending on you're say I might have a question or two for that. Also, if there's any questions or a detail you don't like just let me know. And if you say so, I can change it to half-elf.

Looks ok so far. I'll more be looking at crunch once the canidates list is complete, just want to make sure everyone has something fluffy to contribute, to make the campaign as "comfortable" as possible.

Also, to let everyone know, the first part of the caravan journey will be hand-waved so to speak. Those chosen will be picking up before reaching Hommlet, preparing to end a stop-off in Fusil, the caravan master having traded non-wooden goods from Woodsedge for valuable recently mined raw gemstones. That will put the wagons two or three days out of Hommlet, weather willing. The calendar date will be 19 Desnus, 4713 AR.
Bonus points to anyone that can tell me what potential campaign friendly holidays may be coming up soon for the players.

My turn for geographic questions. OK, I found Fusil on this map. And I found Woodsedge on this map. It looks like the trip from Woodsedge to Fusil is not relatively straight. Is the caravan traveling the Lowroad by the river to Hommlet, and then cutting into the forest from there to Fusil?
And for bonus points: Goblin Flea Market?
cheers

a few days ago on the 13 Desnus it was:
Old-Mage Day (Nantambu, Mwangi Expanse): Holiday celebrating Old-Mage Jatembe, the father of Garundi magic.
and the next one is on 31 Desnus:
Angel Day (Magnimar, Varisia): A day of masquerades acting as a celebration to the Empyreal Lords[7]
Last Sunday of Desnus:
Goblin Flea Market (Andoran): A market day that focuses on unusual crafts and offers games to children who dress up for the occasion.[3]
Breaching Festival (Korvosa): Yearly festival in which contestants try to break through the magical wards protecting the Academae.[10]
--------
enjoy

Thanks Sir Gareth, I checked over the map links, and those maps differ somewhat from what I have been using, the inside cover map from the Andoran Players Companion and of course the Inner Sea Region map. It does visually change distances and impressions, but should not overlly affect gameplay.
But to answer your questions, yes the Lowroad follows along the banks of the Sellen, save as necessary due to terrain issues, from Woodsedge and beyond to Triela, where it will join a coastal road onwards to Almas.
The trail to Fusil is not part of the Lowroad, since as per the agreement Fusil made, no trees can be harmed, so no "road" could be laid. Instead it is a meandering natural track, shaped by nature and the druids, allowing cart and horse travel from the Lowroad to the village and the mine.
As I see it in game, many caravans ignore Fusil in passing due to this, but those with enough wealth and protection will stop at a clearing along the Lowroad, take a few horses and small carts to Fusil for trade, then return to their caravan, and press onwards. It requires a few extra caravan guards, but the druids of the area have secured Fusil's safety as an example of cooperation, and banditry is rare, at least within a day's reach of Fusil.
Hope that helps, and yes, the Goblin Flea Market will be on the 26th, so if things progress, the group may find themselves there in time for it.

Yep, for any Varisian players, Angel Day and the Breaching Festival may have significance this coming 26th or 31st.
And a month's end Flea Market may be a fun distraction from the long journey to date for our Andoran players.

@GM
I like the Campaign summery at the top and the words "Rough Beast" made me think of W.B. Yates' Poem
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

The Empryeal Lords are associated with the Angel Days, with Sarenrae beleived once having been of their ranks. Magnimar and Varisians are most common in celebrating the day.
Breaching day is of course celebrated in Korvosa though some mages and adventurers, and Varisians may take the day to test their skills in honor of those that will fail and fall.
Hommlet will begin a festival from Angel Day through the following 3 Sarenith, in celebration of Liberty Day. Part of the reason your caravan is stopping off in Hommlet is the increase in activity guarantees a few good deals can be made during those preparations.
DM Kalizar
I posted some additional information of the Campaign tab, items I have converted and embellished from the original works.
The dream of the burning pit will occur in bits and pieces over the journey, the final vision occurring on the night the caravan resumes its journey from Fusil. It will be something every divine charcter, or those with particularly "faithful" backgrounds will experience. I will give more detail when I post the first entry in the gameplay thread.
The menu of the welcome wench is a local favorite, well-spoken about, so anyone (DC 10 Kn:Local) that has traveled this region will have heard of, as well as the warm friendly atmosphere of the establishment.

Quick question, did I miss it, or will it be explained once the campaign starts... What is Nulb? Looks like a questionable sort of place.
The Lowroad forks a league or so beyond the little community, one branch meandering a few miles off towards the nefarious Taldan ferry crossing of Nulb, another rolling southwest 150 leagues through the Carpenden Plains to the town of Steyr, and then eventually turning southwards again towards fair Almas.
cheers

I notice no one has yet expressed interest in being a member of any Factional group in the campaign area, so likely I will drop that from the campaign come the 30th.
As a last note, we have the following positions available in the caravan for characters to fulfil. Think about which might be most suited to your character should you be selected, and they can be duplicated: Cook, Entertainer, Guard, Guide, Healer, Scout

Sir Gareth would not work for the caravan even as a guard. He would join the caravan, because they are going in the same direction. He is a noble knight and aristocrat. On the other hand, the player is not. ;D
cheers
Sir Gareth d’Orionus
That would be acceptable, Sir Gareth. But will you pay a fee for the added benefit in safety and companionship the caravan offers, make an investment in the venture as a minor partner, or sinply ride alongside and camp/fend for yourself like a camp follower or vagabond? ;}
A noble knight is not without means. He would be clear that his personal business will not let him continue beyond the town of Hommlet.
Perhaps, Sir Gareth can pay for some of the guards, guides, or other servants. Maybe he would pay for the extra servants up until Hommlet? And let the caravan continue from there.
D'witt Hirshue
Well I think it's obvious which I will be applying for. *twirls a cooking knife like a gun*
I had actually forgotten about the factions. :p Is it to late to join one?
I was making a few tweaks to D'witt here. And I think he would make a good Pathfinder. If so, I was going to move some of his skill ranks over to some knowledge skills.
DM Kalizar
Ok, sorry for the delay replying all, had some RL stuff to get caught up on. Sucks that my weekend is Thurs/Fri but thems the breaks.
Sir Gareth, you could pay 5 gold to cover your expenses for the journey from Woodsedge to Hommlet, or 100 gold to buy in for a tenth share of the expected profits at journey's end. It would be sent back once the final sale occurs in Almas, or credited to a banking house of your choosing.
D'Witt, no, it is not too late to join a faction, and if the interest is there for players, the opportunity to join one of the groups can be written into the storyline. It is something that we can take or leave, depending on how the group decides.
Karla, an inquisitor is fine; yes I did mention prefering core, but Pathfinder has become somewhat diversified. I want players that want to be the characters they present for the game.

Good choices. Sir Gareth's decision would weigh the expected profits with his need to maintain a public image. Otherwise, he would pay the expenses and not create any loose ends for himself.
DM Kalizar
The caravan will be selling/trading cargo in eight planned stops start to finish. Assuming average profits are made at each stop, Master Shylocke hopes to net at least 500 gp from the trip after expenses. A tenth profit would return 50 gp on your investment, plus the return of your initial stock, so invest 100, get 150 back, on average. His reputation would indicate he is a shrewd businessman that does quite well for himself. He is only one of a few that will take this rough and dangerous trade route. Many fear the river bandits, fey, and monsters too much to make the long and harrowing journey.
At the moment Master Shylocke and Delts are about 30% over average in trading, as of returning from Fusil. Hommlet will mark the halfway trade point, and the end of "dangerous" lands.
