"thanks Aggrammar but they're just unthinking bugs. I will feel like we've accomplished something when we've taken the fight to the pig kissers clergy. . On a lighter note what do you think we'll find in these cocoons? Tons of coins or tons of baby spiders? "

"I'm with ya boy on the pig kissers, and kickin' em off the face of the land. But for now, we may be just walkin' into the spider's mom?" - Aggrammar warns.

As soon as you cut into them thousands of tiny spiders run out of it and away into cracks in the walls.
Sorek
Sorek dips his torch into the cocoon as the spiders pour out from it trying to deprive this dungeon of future guardians. After that he examines the door on the west wall of this room.

The bag in the first panel contains 200 gp.
The bag in the second panel contains a scroll and 15 sp.
The bag in the third panel contains a small ivory figurine worth 1,000 gp. Make a Fort Save Sorek.
Nuala Sataleeti
Sry been busy at work.. Starting outage soon so that will be a thing for a month or so..
Nuala follows behind, not saying much, yet observing her surroundings..
Sorek
Assuming that I made that fort save :) assuming poison? I made perception checks on the secret panels and on the bags. Did I not suceed on the perception check to detect the poison on the bag or did I get hit with poison because I did not roll perceptions for the items in the bags? Inquiring minds want to know so that I don't make that mistake again.
"Hey guys look what we have here. Nuala, Aggrammar take a look at this scroll. Hope it's something useful.
removing his hand from the statue like he just touched a hot flame "Woah...don't touch that"
brvheart
There was something sticky on the bag that you failed to detect. Spent quite awhile attempting to determine a DC for it since it was not listed and then concluded it was higher than 22.
Sorek
ok thanks... for future reference if it the poison had been on the statue instead of the bag would my perception check on the bag have covered it or do i need to roll perception checks for each item we run across to prevent being hit with poison? I have no problem either way, just need to know for future reference. Although now that I think about it, it probably makes sense that a check would be required for each item. Sorry, was just getting lazy with my perception rolls.
Now that Sorek knows the bag is poisoned he VERY carefully removes the statue from the bag and makes sure that it is clear of all traces of poison. After that he detects magic on the statue. Magic?
After Nuala and Aggrammar finish examining the scroll we'll resume our exploration of this level. There is just one door left from what I can see on the map.
We'll go back out into the hallway and examine the door just east of room #25. i moved Soreks icon on roll20 next to the door in question.

Am not going to get that anal on checks. As long as you make a relevant check. Of course, the only way to be sure of not missing a trap is to have the rogue talent trap spotter.
Room 24 is empty.

looking at the map... it appears there is space for a hidden room here.

.
Proposing a new house rule. Characters with the ability to detect and disable magical traps and having access to the rogue talent trap spotter through class abilities receive the benefit of that talent for free as long as they have max ranks in perception. I make this proposal half in jest, half in hopes of cutting down on all my paranoid perception checks. I have a feat starved build and don't have an open feat slot til around lvl 15 to take the rogue talent trap spotter. Again this is just a whimsical proposal not a player whining for a freebie. lol
A simple "nope, not gonna happen" is fine and expected
brvheart
You detect a secret door on the east wall. Here is my issue with that. It is a rogue talent, not a feat and your slayer can take it. Which is the drawback of her multiclassing. At level 4 she gets the second talent. You have to give up something to get. I could perhaps discuss a compromise to exchange it for the second perception roll under that to also cut down all the checks.
WabbitHuntr
I have access to rogue Talents through my class (Stalker) and can take trap spotter at 6th level as my second Stalker art or later by spending a feat to gain an additional Stalker art. But that second Stalker art is already spoken for and my build doesn't leave me with an open feat til 15th lvl...... I'm mulling over your proposal. Trying to assess how lazy I really am. These perception checks are just cut and paste..... Let me think about it

Inspecting, meaning? What are you doing with it? Yes you detect magic.
WabbitHuntr
Inspecting meaning looking very closely. But NOT... touching the BLACK magical candles on an altar likely dedicated to an evil God in a dungeon constructed for or by him
"hey Nuala these candles are magical. Can you tell us anything more about them and are they worth taking.? . I don't think they're worth messing with unless one is a priest of Orcus... But I could be wrong... Thoughts? "

because Aggrammar is OP :p he keeps an Open spell slot just for occasions like this.
Casting Spells
Whether a spell is arcane or divine, and whether a character prepares spells in advance or chooses them on the spot, casting a spell works the same way.
Spell Selection and Preparation: A divine spellcaster selects and prepares spells ahead of time through prayer and meditation at a particular time of day. The time required to prepare spells is the same as it is for a wizard (1 hour), as is the requirement for a relatively peaceful environment. When preparing spells for the day, a cleric can leave some of her spell slots open. Later during that day, she can repeat the preparation process as often as she likes. During these extra sessions of preparation, she can fill these unused spell slots. She cannot, however, abandon a previously prepared spell to replace it with another one or fill a slot that is empty because she has cast a spell in the meantime. Like the first session of the day, this preparation takes at least 15 minutes, and it takes longer if she prepares more than one-quarter of his spells.
Sorek
BOOM! Welcome back sir. And prepare a Remove Exhaustion spell (if there is such a thing) for yourself while you're at it. Sounds like you've earned it
brvheart
Not really sure what OP is, but I prefer people run their own characters. The altar is cursed.
Sorek
"What does everyone think? Should we leave this cursed altar alone? Or not? I think we've explored everywhere on this level. Shall we proceed down the stairs to the next level or do we need to rest up and regain spells etc..Thoughts?"
looking at the map, looks like we've covered the whole level. It's possible we missed a secret door somewhere, but there's no way of telling
brvheart
Or should you take the trek to the coast road and actually go into RA proper rather than RA lite?
Sorek
Decision time...please vote
A)go down one more level. We're 2000xp away from 5th
B)I'm ready for RA proper , bring it on (gulp)
C) go back to Zelkors Ferry and offload some of our treasures and resupply before continuing with A or B
Aggrammar Deepdelver
Lars has got a death wish, though I guess we all do, else why would we venture into RA? :D
Honestly now, what methods can one use to deal with curses - Remove Curse? This is simply a meta question from a player with doubts regarding it. Because if Remove Curse is the option, I haven't memorized it for today... BUT it would be important for Aggrammar to remove this foul thing.
Getting back to restock/resupply may not be a bad idea - do we have enough gold/sell-able goods to actually buy something of relevance?
Sorek
at the bottom of Soreks profile there is a spoiler labeled "Party Loot". Might be good to sell some stuff.
I was thinking of the spell Consecrate to ruin the altar ...but it only has a duration of 2 hrs/lvl. It seems to me that if we are at war with Orcus and his followers that we probably should be defiling his temples, altars etc... But I don't know the mechanics of how to do that. Or even if we can
Aggrammar Deepdelver
I can cast Remove Curse (it should be a permanent solution), and I am guessing if I can beat the DC, this would be a valid strike for the forces of Good :D That being said, I won't be able to cast it today, so pressing forward or heading back to Zelkor's Ferry are both acceptable options for me, assuming we can get back here tomorrow (if going down), or in a few days (if going back to Zelkor's Ferry).
As for spent spells, I have only spent a level 2 slot thus far, but am running thin on Sermonic Performance and Channels. Still have the CLW wand though.
If we sell the +1 weapons, we may get some decent cash - though the +1 weapons may soon become very important.
Aaaaaand I need to get back on Gameplay, to check how much XP I have gained after that 'sudden' level up :P
