alright here's my take on this.... And this is all based on the thought that DAM instead of DAMN is intentional
this DAM doesn't detect as evil and as such it is probably a construct with dr that characters of our level can't penetrate ie dr20 adamantine.... Constructs are typically immune to magic with the exception of one or two spells..... "Have to sleep or die"..... I think sleep is referring to the Sleep spell.... The construct may be vulnerable to the Sleep spell
what do you all think am I on to something here? Or am reading too much into this
-Posted with Wayfinder
Sorek
I looked at Almon and Nualas spellbooks. Neither of them has the Sleep spell. What do we want to do? heed the warning that we should avoid this room as we don't have the sleep spell or ignore the warning and proceed inside?
WabbitHuntr
this DAM room is a dead end. . So we can easily skip it. And yes DM has emphasized the importance of knowing when not to fight in RA. . Anyone else?

Hey, I kin spel. I ar a coledge gradeat!
I LOLed.
"Sounds good to me lads - I hate backin' out from a fight. Or a trap fer that matter" - Aggrammar grumbles - "But I can't make heads or tails outta this one here" - then scratches his bear.
"I am decided on putting this place to its end once and fer all, but ma gut tells me if we move without being in tha know, we'll get ourselves killed" - he nods - "So yeah, we double back. Go!"
Sorek
I'm with you Aggrammar. I hate backing away from a fight. But we know these traps can be deadly and I've got a bad feelin about this one. Let's just skip this one and see what else we can find on this level .
leaving the DAM room, we'll go back into the hallway and proceed west
Myrick of Muir
"There is no battle here, just a giant wall and water behind it. Nor is it evil. Let us move on to find more righteous prey or at least a more glorious way to die. Heh heh."
brvheart
Well, be that way! Go ahead and leave the dam room:) You come to a door at the end of the hallway.
WabbitHuntr
Checking the door
Perception : 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Perception : 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
And detecting evil
If trapped Nualas up
If not trapped we go in.
. If evil was detected Myrick and Sorek go in first
If no evil detected Nuala remains on point with Sorek

The north wall of this room is a mosaic that depicts the characters themselves moving inside the room, as if it were a mirror. The south wall is painted, and the painting, like the mosaic, depicts the characters. The pictures in the mosaic and in the painting move as the characters move about in the room.
Sorek
Well that's different. Sorek shifts his gaze from the north wall to the south. And detects magic on both walls.

The north-wall mosaic shows a treasure chest sitting on the floor against the south wall. The painting on the south wall shows stairs.
WabbitHuntr
not sure what to do here. Already rolled perceptions and detected magic.
Sorek moves closer to the depiction of the chest hoping to notice something else
-Posted with Wayfinder
brvheart
He might notice that the chest is not on the south wall mosiac, nor is it is the room. You are mimiced in the mosiac Lars.
WabbitHuntr
"Almon Nuala... Both of these walls mirror whatever is in the room. But there is no chest in the room and yet the north wall shows one. . Ever hear of anything like this before? "
maybe roll some knowledge arcana checks

Myrick makes his image go over and open the chest.
"Like a street mime, everyone loves those guys."
brvheart
Your image can go over to the chest, but not open it. It is not there. Sorek, roll a reflex. Sorry had computer problems until now.
Myrick of Muir
"Well, poop. I suppose I cand have my image go down the stairs in the other one either. Ah well I'll still give it a try."

Sorek disappears. You are on the real stairs Sorek, going down. They are invisible.
Sorek
"Hey...look at this. Invisible stairs. This place is incredible. Evil, but Incredible."
Sorek points out the location and makes room for Lars and Myrick, who by now have likely finished playing with themselves in the mosaic and will undoubtedly enjoy making parts of themselves disappear on the stairscase.
looking at the map we have explored this entire level except for 2 doors. Shall we proceed down or mark the location of the stairs and clear those remaining 2 rooms first? My votes for clearing the 2 rooms and then proceeding down. Anyone else?
brvheart
OK, where to? Sorek only disappears for a round for two befor stepping through the south wall where the picture of the stairs are.

"That's ma lad!" - Aggrammar nods to the others, as Sorek takes down the spiders even before he is able to react - "Ye're getting nastier by tha day boy" - he claps the Elan on his back, taking a look at the cocoons from afar.
