Guard 2 - ignoring the dagger in his back - charges towards Chanix.
Attack 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 2 + 2 = 21
Damage cutlass plus sneak 1d6 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 3 + (4) = 10
Guard 1 shouts out - "That's what you deserve"
Attack 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 2 = 22
Damage cutlass plus sneak 1d6 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (3) = 8
Chanix goes down - flanked by the two guards he stood no chance. Blood all over him.
But he seems not the only one going down. The attack on Chanix was too much for guard 1 and he sinks down next to Chanix.
I have left the dice fall as they did. But I was drawing in some breath before looking at the results as I didn't want to kill you outright. But the 10 damage from the first was among the worst that could happen as guard 1 would have attacked Tal if you had gone down the first attacl.
You are at -8 HP. All you can do in your round is a stabilisation roll. You need an 18 (d20 + con modifier).
If you fail - you go to -9 HP.
Toren "Stand" Still
|
Toren moves diagonally towards the stairs and then comes down them, cursing as he has to go carefully, and then goes another 5 feet in front of the stairs.
Move action 1 - diagonally towards the stairs then down and land 1 square ahead of the stairs...where it looks like a gold coin is sitting.
He looks, curses, and steps right up behind where the other guard stood by the mast.
Chanix
|
Hahaha well met. Not that it matters but guard 1's attack has 2 bonuses. One for flanking but the other is? Just curious.
Chanix
|
Death Save 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
I do what I want Tal!
Chanix feels the warm fingers of Calistria wrap around his soul as he slips a bit further from the mortal plane.

Sorry - copy and paste - there should be only one.
Guard 2 turns around to Tal.
"You will be next elf. I will cut off your ears once we are done with you !!"
Needing Markus move before I do the captain.
Markus 'Earthquake' Kalepo
|
I posted my remaining action for round 1 here.
Is it my turn again?
Markus advances drawing two more daggers.
"Quit picking on the elf-friend", the Varisian warns.
Muttering a lyrical word in his native tongue, his eyes seem to glaze over with supernatural insight.
Cast True Strike.
Artemis Del'Sol
|
Artemis finishes climbing to the boat, and draws his bow as a move. If he still has a standard after that he shoots his bow at the guard still standing.
Attack 1 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 +1 if PBS applies
Artemis fires an arrow that gets caught in the rigging.
Markus 'Earthquake' Kalepo
|
Now that I think I have a better understand of what initiative we're on, I want to add something to my round's actions.
Grigo jumps off the Varisian's shoulder and scurries across the deck of the ship.
The tiny monkey climbs on the wounded elf's chest and begins digging through his things until, with a cry of triumph, it pulls out a glass vial.
Grigo is fetching Chanix's healing potion.
Priscilla Daystar
|
Priscilla's actions stand as per previous post, if the monkey trick doesn't work, Priscilla will move 30' and cast stabilize range 30'. If not sling shot as per post #385.

Action of the captain
A green skinned humanoid - looking like half frog, half man steps out of the cabin. He carries a bag in his hand and throws it on Toren.
Ranged Touch attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Sticky tar and glue engulf Toren and start to solidify.
DC15 or being glued to the floor
Unfortunately the captain didn't take into account the reach of the Bed de Corbin and is surprised by it.
AoO for Toren.
If you take him out in one go, then he misses
Grigo climbs with ease around the reeling and reaches Chanix. A chatter of the ape shows his success.
AoO from guard 2 on Grigo 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 Damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Only the small size of the monkey prevents it from being hit

Summary Round 2:
Tal swings twice but misses - he then steps 5 foot to set up flanking
Toren moves closer but can't reach the second guard
Guard 2 - dagger in his back - charges Chanix and hits him severly for 10 HP
Guard 1 takes out his anger on Cahnix and takes him down - only to go down due to exertion
Markus casts True Strike
Grico scurries over to Chanix and looks for the potion - narrowly avoiding an AoO from guard 2
The captain steps out - throwing a tanglefoot bag at Toren - getting an AoO in return
Priscilla moves onto the lower deck to get closer to Chanix and casts stabilize
Artemis reaches the upper deck - his error misses.
Guard 2: -5 HP
Chanix - -8 HP - stable
Still to do:
Reflex save Toren - DC15 or glued to the floor
AoO from Toren on captain

Edit: Nvm, so it looks like we're in round 3?
I just started round 3 - see above. No action in round 3 posted yet. The monkey might have done more of his alloted actions - but I thought I make a point that when I myself underestimate the Bec de Corbin (had started posting and only then realized the mistake) then a familiar isn't immune if his actions provoke.
And I realize - Priscilla would have acted ahead of Chanix. No wonder his stabilize roll failed ..

Positions:
Two new photos
The photos don't yet include movement from Priscilla - place yourself right of Markus - and Artemis is on board now.
Edit:
2Tal
Guard 2 lost 5 HP. I'm doing count down but if you look closely you might figure out that this also leaves him on 5 HP/10HP. Guard 2 is still up and you face him on your own - unless Toren makes his Reflex save / can brealk free of the Tanglefoot bag.
Chanix
|
Just a heads up: Chanix has a better initiative based on modifier than Priscilla, so the death save would have been necessary.
Toren "Stand" Still
|
AoO 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Damage if needed 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Reflex if needed 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Toren looks sharply over his shoulder in time to see the green frog person raise his arm to throw something, "Not without a fight froggy!". He swings his Bec de Corbin, reaching out to hit...
Assuming I do not take him out
EDIT
The bag arcs towards him and he tries to deftly move out of the way, but it hits him. "Ugh, what is this stuff?!"
Thod
|
Tal hits the second guard - but his attack lacks the necessary force and he isn't down yet.
Toren hits the Gibbli with his Bec de Corbin (edit: but the hit seems unable to penetrate the thick hide) - but it can't prevent him to be hit. But he manages to avoid being stuck to the ground.
Toren
you are half speed, -2 attack, -4 Dexterity - without the save you would also be glued to the floor and unable to move.
You still have your normal actions for round 3.
Thod
|
Looking closer at the Gibbli you notice many vials tucked into multiple pockets. He also looks much more feral and fierce as you would expect from description you have read.
You therefore notice that the hit didn't truly manage to penetrate.
You ave been quite assertive - I didn't even look at your rolls.
Toren "Stand" Still
|
Toren looks grimly back at the fallen Chanix, and then at the creature who threw the bag at him. He readies to strike at the creature with his polearm, "Ack! This crud is making life harder!"
Attack Captain 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 3 - 2 = 9
He looks down at the weapon and sighs, and he takes a step back.
Move action 1 square towards the mast...Blocking the "passageway" on that side of the mast is what I'm going for.
Markus 'Earthquake' Kalepo
|
Markus snarls and rushes the guard that cut down his ally.
Lowering a shoulder, the Varisian brute plows into the sailor with the force of a rampaging bull auroch.
Bullrush (which provokes) - 1d20 + 5 + 20 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 20 = 43
Aiming to send him off the deck.
***
Grigo pulls the stopper out with this teeth and with both of his little paws, turns the vial over and messily pours the potion down the injured Chanix's throat.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Thod
|
Could you please ensure you don't forget Armour failure chances for spells please. I think 25% for the Agile Breastplate. This can be. Ritual for your build.
Also the bull rush was down stairs, past Toren who tried to block (the other way). Was nice and cinematic - but I rule it very loosely here :)
Markus 'Earthquake' Kalepo
|
True Strike is verbal only. Arcane Spell Failure only applies to spells with somatic components.
Is the bullrush not an option? I guess I misunderstood the distances.

I was posting while still in bed. Thanks for pointing out the true strike - I can't remember having seen a wizard in armour at my tables ever - so I wasn't aware that some spells can be cast without problems.
The bull rush - assuming a 5 foot step the round before to set you up, that you can charge down the stairs and Toren is not in the way - yes. It is very difficult online to keep track of each 5 foot step / exact positions.I did rule it okay but it raised an eyebrow. Possibly could have asked for Acrobatics check DC10 ? Rushing down the stairs as part of the bull rush.
No worry - there is a whole discussion raging about rewarding creativity - I'm not trying to stop that - especially as Chanix pointed out - the guard 2 was close to falling over anyhow.
If I do some remarks here or there - please don't take them as critique. I'm trying to learn here from different play styles but also try to comment from time to time that you get a better idea about how I see actions to avoid misunderstandings maybe at a later time.

Never believe those baseless rumors than mages can't wear armor. =P
I'll ask about positioning before I try something like that again in the future. Thanks for being accommodating.
Ultimately though he had a couple hit points left. With True Strike up I can't miss. I could have just thrown a dagger. I just thought the linebacker-tackle-from-hell was cooler.
Priscilla Daystar

if channix is clear of enemies then move to him and CLW 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5. If not sling the green thing if it's the only thing standing 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 dmg 1d3 ⇒ 1
Thod

"Guards, guards, help - I'm hit again. They are killing me. Where are you rotten bastards? You are here to protect me!!"
Pricilla - why waste a nice roll - I used the sling shot as right now the captain isn't in combat.
Chanix - you should regain consciousness - but you will likely need to get up from prone and get a weapon. You also are staggered until further healed.
Chanix

I'm confused as to why I would be staggered. Did the monkey potion not work? I would stand up and collect my weapons as my 3rd round action otherwise.
Chanix's eyes flutter. He squints in the bright light. Sharp gasps for air fill his lungs and his face feels sticky.
A splash. Someone is shouting. A shadow moves overhead.
Great grandfather, I'm alive!
He hears a shrieking. It's terrifying like that of a banshee's wail. There's a pounding on his chest. He looks down half expecting to see some foul beast from the sea gutting him for chum.
It's Grigo! The little bugger is jumping up and down shaking an empty vile.
Chanix rises in slow purposeful motions. He rests at a kneel, picking up his rapier and a dagger. The battle continues but with someone new!
/edit Disabled until further healing. This will be my action after. It may or may not fit story wise.
Toren "Stand" Still
|
Toren will move up to the previous spot and swing his polearm
1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 - 2 = 18
Damage if it hits 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Chanix
|
Chanix notices Priscilla become distracted with concern for his health and he holds up a hand to let her know not to worry.
He points at the captain and weakly blurts out, "Spare him. For information."
Still weak, he slumps and watches.
