Whoa..I glossed over it in that huge post but Lashonna is a silver dragon?! I didn't see that coming! I knew she had her own agenda and was not particularly trustworthy but a dragon?! Nicely played, GM.

The credit for that setup goes entirely to Black Tom and the authors :) Yeah, definitely interesting and good stuff.

Yeah, I was confident she was more than she seemed and I was thinking dragon, but I don't know now if that was lucky guess or old memory - I read through this AP when it was originally published. I've forgotten the vast majority of it, as evidenced by the way I blunder about, but I might have remembered a dragon ally.
Or I linked it with Terendelev from WotR. That's probably more likely - I'm in three of those right now.

I opened it successfully just now. I'm having trouble getting the size to a friendly scale, but that's user error. Still working on remodeling, so it will be a bit before I can post something useful.

Valgrim: Looking for your opinion. Was looking over what the Boneyard would do this round and rereading Spring Attack, when I was somewhat surprised by how it might work with reach. It seems that it can actually spring attack away from you and then make an attack AND then move the rest of it's movement. Thus it would avoid an AOO from Valgrim, since he is its target. I think because I was never dealing with significant reach (it's got 20' reach) I had always assumed you had to leap TOWARD someone for a spring attack. Do you read that the same way? The slippery serpent is proving FAR more difficult to bring down than I would have thought for something that size. As a important side note, the thing has ALL it's mental abilities at 18+ so it's not just the dumb brute one might expect and the authors specifically state it tries to maintain a 20' distance from the PCs.

Language from Spring attack feat: You cannot use this ability to attack a foe that is adjacent to you at the start of your turn.
So, he can't attack me with Spring attack as I am adjacent to it (hence why I moved next to it), and if the creature spring attacks someone else, then I'm not the target and I get AoO.
Also Feeblemind drops a person's Charisma to 1 so Bubba can't cast spells.
The Worm That Walks |
Ah, well that is why I asked before doing anything :) Thanks for both clarifying that. On the Boneyard, was like that seems a little crazy. Missed the adjacent/startofturn thing this time(though I remember reading it now for last round).
Didn't look up feeblemind, thought it was just Intelligence. Guess Charisma makes sense also.
This is what happens when I am waiting and have too much time on my hands. Over think things and get myself into trouble. Perhaps it was me that got Feeblemind-ed.

Yeah, let me tell those silenced, pajama-wearing art haters where to put their silenced coins. Maybe they will get made and kill the undead knight so they can kill me themselves.
That's what I would do if I could do more than babble and drool right now.
Valgrim Twin-Axe |
Storm bolts does d8 damage not d6 and there were no negative levels so 17d8 damage and Vulcan did not roll SR check.
EDIT: He also didn't roll 20% miss chance. Guess he was in a hurry.

The STUNNING effect! I completely forgot that part of Stormbolts and the naga failed the save, so it would have been stunned and thus, no two scorching rays and I would have survived the boneyard's bite, even with the Con drain. So stupid. Sorry guys, I'll read my spells more completely from now on. DUH! Kick butt so you can bring me back to life.
The Worm That Walks |
I don't think you need to beat yourself up too much. You actually lost 51 hit points due to the Con damage. Would have still brought you down to -44. With Breath of Life it would have been -14 and with a current Con of 9 that still would have been enough to be fatal.
I should have caught that oversight also. Sorry I missed it. Got caught up in the undead being immune to stun, but the Naga isn't undead!

Vug, I left the items I thought you would take, as noted above, but I do not see them on your profile so I left the notes as a reminder.
If anyone wants to take something from the list, feel free. Just let me know and I will modify the shares.
Friar Ferez |
I would like to put in a claim for the Belt of Physical Perfection +2 and toss in my Belt of Dwarvenkind (worth 7450 gp, so the share total will be almost the same). The saves don't stack with my cloak and I lose darkvision to get +2 Str and +2 Dex. I think I have enough light spells in case I'm in the dark.
Any Hero Points, GM for winning the fight and completing the chapter? Just asking because Friar is at a fat 0 right now. LOL!
The Worm That Walks |
No loot for the last fight. I meant doing things when you get to wherever you are headed not here vacationing on the island beaches ;)
Thanks for reminding me Ferez. Yes, another 2 Hero Points for completing the chapter. I hope you also added the 3 I mentioned earlier for completing the trials. Yeah, this chapter was rough on the hero points. I'll be making sure to add some to the next chapter on a regular basis.
Not to worry, I hadn't forgotten about giving experience for Darl (just making sure you were done with him for now). Starts adding stuff up on the calculator...
EDIT: You each gain another 249,600

Given the power and deadliness of our competition at these high levels, I think we should each invest in a Resurrection Scroll.
Cost: 10,000 gp material component + 2275 cost of scroll = 12,275 gp
If I am alive, I can cast the spells with no checks required.
If I am dead and I need resurrection, Bub or Vug can cast the spell off the Scroll.
They would need to make 2 UMD checks. He has +21/she has +20 I believe.
1. Emulate ability score (namely Wisdom 17) = DC 32
2. Use Scroll = DC 33
Those are my thoughts.

Friar is welcome to the +2 Belt of Perfection as far as Bub is concerned.
It might be worthwhile for Bubba to trade his +2 heavy shield of arrow deflection for the +1 animated heavy shield from an action economy standpoint, but that's the only item that I see that interests me. And I'd rather not give up any AC at this point. Actually, scratch that - I don't have an amulet of natural armor or a ring of protection, so if no one wants those, I would put my name in for them.
Bublaka |
I'm good with the Resurrection scroll idea. Some scrolls for some of the standard healing spells might not be bad, just to supplement the awesome cleric we have.
Valgrim Twin-Axe |
I like the Scroll idea as well. That way 3 of the 5 players can resurrect, if need be. I'll probably be investing in adding fortification to my armor and displacement potions, since no one has the spell.
