Hey, I wasn't expecting it, and couldn't remember where I'd gotten that impression that it was not RAW. No silent spells for Bubba.

Wow, live and learn.

Whoa..I glossed over it in that huge post but Lashonna is a silver dragon?! I didn't see that coming! I knew she had her own agenda and was not particularly trustworthy but a dragon?! Nicely played, GM.

The credit for that setup goes entirely to Black Tom and the authors :) Yeah, definitely interesting and good stuff.

I had guessed she was something, so when the post came it made me smile.

Yeah, I was confident she was more than she seemed and I was thinking dragon, but I don't know now if that was lucky guess or old memory - I read through this AP when it was originally published. I've forgotten the vast majority of it, as evidenced by the way I blunder about, but I might have remembered a dragon ally.

Or I linked it with Terendelev from WotR. That's probably more likely - I'm in three of those right now.

Hmmmm, is anyone else having trouble accessing the map? Vug were you able to access this particular map once already or not at all yet?

I opened it successfully just now. I'm having trouble getting the size to a friendly scale, but that's user error. Still working on remodeling, so it will be a bit before I can post something useful.

No, don't blame yourself at all with this maps issues. It is definitely an experiment on usable scale of this tool. If I were to redo it I would modify the scale down a bit. I have trouble getting it exactly where I want it also but am getting better at it.

Wait -- is the map in Flickr now, not Roll20?

EDIT: Okay, now I understand. The "Current Map" link worked for me.

Vug Vang wrote:

Sorry for the confusion. No, the map is in Roll20 still. I was just talking about a separate issue with the Flickr links because it seemed to maybe explain what was happening to you.

You guys can change your actual player names that appear in the Roll20 by going to your "My Settings" tab in the right corner. At least I think you can if it's not just a GM thing. Helps if you wanted it to, for example, reflect your character name.

Heading to bed but will cast Boneshatter on the obvious target

I hate to take away anything from the intensity of the situation but feel that it must be said: Your goal here is to give the druid's time to escape not necessarily survive. It's set up to be this way.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

I suspected as much. The intensity is not lessened by the realization, however.

Valgrim: Looking for your opinion. Was looking over what the Boneyard would do this round and rereading Spring Attack, when I was somewhat surprised by how it might work with reach. It seems that it can actually spring attack away from you and then make an attack AND then move the rest of it's movement. Thus it would avoid an AOO from Valgrim, since he is its target. I think because I was never dealing with significant reach (it's got 20' reach) I had always assumed you had to leap TOWARD someone for a spring attack. Do you read that the same way? The slippery serpent is proving FAR more difficult to bring down than I would have thought for something that size. As a important side note, the thing has ALL it's mental abilities at 18+ so it's not just the dumb brute one might expect and the authors specifically state it tries to maintain a 20' distance from the PCs.

Male Dwarf Ranger 16/Barbarian 2/Fighter 2/Champion 2 HP: 334/334; AC:34/15/30; F +31 (+33); R +22; W +16 (+18); Init: +11 (+17); Percep: +27 (+29); Hero Points: 5/5; Mythic Power: 7/7; Rage: 14/14

Language from Spring attack feat: You cannot use this ability to attack a foe that is adjacent to you at the start of your turn.

So, he can't attack me with Spring attack as I am adjacent to it (hence why I moved next to it), and if the creature spring attacks someone else, then I'm not the target and I get AoO.

Also Feeblemind drops a person's Charisma to 1 so Bubba can't cast spells.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

That would be why Bubba has not tried to cast any spells.

Ah, well that is why I asked before doing anything :) Thanks for both clarifying that. On the Boneyard, was like that seems a little crazy. Missed the adjacent/startofturn thing this time(though I remember reading it now for last round).

Didn't look up feeblemind, thought it was just Intelligence. Guess Charisma makes sense also.

This is what happens when I am waiting and have too much time on my hands. Over think things and get myself into trouble. Perhaps it was me that got Feeblemind-ed.

Yeah, let me tell those silenced, pajama-wearing art haters where to put their silenced coins. Maybe they will get made and kill the undead knight so they can kill me themselves.

That's what I would do if I could do more than babble and drool right now.

LOL, you sound like you would be A LOT of fun at a RL gaming table :)

Storm bolts does d8 damage not d6 and there were no negative levels so 17d8 damage and Vulcan did not roll SR check.

EDIT: He also didn't roll 20% miss chance. Guess he was in a hurry.

The STUNNING effect! I completely forgot that part of Stormbolts and the naga failed the save, so it would have been stunned and thus, no two scorching rays and I would have survived the boneyard's bite, even with the Con drain. So stupid. Sorry guys, I'll read my spells more completely from now on. DUH! Kick butt so you can bring me back to life.

I don't think you need to beat yourself up too much. You actually lost 51 hit points due to the Con damage. Would have still brought you down to -44. With Breath of Life it would have been -14 and with a current Con of 9 that still would have been enough to be fatal.

I should have caught that oversight also. Sorry I missed it. Got caught up in the undead being immune to stun, but the Naga isn't undead!

I like to think so. :D

Yeah was in a hurry, I thought I'd gotten negative levels, pretty sure I've been rolling everything a 3 less for a bit now.

Edit: Ah, missed the part where blink saved me...again.

Well awesome, ready to start the next chapter when you are but take a little time to wrap up loose ends or do things you want to. This might be one of the last chances you have at any sort of downtime.

Female Elf Alchemist (preservationist) 18

There's not much we can do until we get back home safely, is there?

There's no treasure from the last fight, correct? (Since we got teleported away.)

Male Dwarf Ranger 16/Barbarian 2/Fighter 2/Champion 2 HP: 334/334; AC:34/15/30; F +31 (+33); R +22; W +16 (+18); Init: +11 (+17); Percep: +27 (+29); Hero Points: 5/5; Mythic Power: 7/7; Rage: 14/14

Final treasure list for Island:
8 +1 greataxes (9280 gp)
8 +2 hide armors (16660 gp)
+3 studded leather armor (4587.5 gp)
+1 animated heavy steel shield (4585 gp)
+1 adamantine greataxe (2510 gp)
+1 speed composite longbow (+6 Strength) (16,500 gp)
15 adamantine arrows (Vug)
15 silver arrows (Vug)
15 cold iron arrows (Vug)
15 arrows (Vug)
Efficient quiver (Vug)
Belt of physical perfection +2 (8000 gp)
Cloak of resistance +2 (2000 gp)
+1 Repeating light crossbow (1275 gp)
+2 Mithril buckler (2502 gp)
Sword of Subtlety (11,155)
Amulet of Natural Armor +1 (1000 gp)
Belt of Physical might (+2 Dex & Con) (5000 gp)
Cloak of Resistance +2 (2000 gp)
Rod of Thunder and Lightning (16,500 gp)
Eyes of the Eagle (1250 gp)
Minor Crown of Blasting (3240 gp)
Boots of Springing and Striding (2750 gp)
Ring of Protection +1 (1000 gp)
3 Strings of Enormous Black Pearls (5,000 gp each) = (15,000 gp)
Large sized +1 Mithral Full Plate of Speed (14,000 gp)
Belt of Giant Strength +4 (8000 gp)
Large sized +2 Icy Burst Greatsword (16,200 gp)
Total: 164,994.5 gp
Share per person: 32,998.9 gp

Vug, I left the items I thought you would take, as noted above, but I do not see them on your profile so I left the notes as a reminder.

If anyone wants to take something from the list, feel free. Just let me know and I will modify the shares.

Cleric of Sarenrae 20/Hierophant 2 HP: 253/253; AC:32/15/27; F +24; R +18; W +28; Init: +11; Percep: +29; Hero Points: 3/3 Channel: 7/8; Quicken Rod 3/3; Extend Lesser Rod: 0/3; Intensified Rod: 3/3; Maximize: 3/3; Greater Maximize: 0/3; Mythic Power: 3/7

I would like to put in a claim for the Belt of Physical Perfection +2 and toss in my Belt of Dwarvenkind (worth 7450 gp, so the share total will be almost the same). The saves don't stack with my cloak and I lose darkvision to get +2 Str and +2 Dex. I think I have enough light spells in case I'm in the dark.

Any Hero Points, GM for winning the fight and completing the chapter? Just asking because Friar is at a fat 0 right now. LOL!

No loot for the last fight. I meant doing things when you get to wherever you are headed not here vacationing on the island beaches ;)

Thanks for reminding me Ferez. Yes, another 2 Hero Points for completing the chapter. I hope you also added the 3 I mentioned earlier for completing the trials. Yeah, this chapter was rough on the hero points. I'll be making sure to add some to the next chapter on a regular basis.

Not to worry, I hadn't forgotten about giving experience for Darl (just making sure you were done with him for now). Starts adding stuff up on the calculator...

EDIT: You each gain another 249,600

Male Dwarf Ranger 16/Barbarian 2/Fighter 2/Champion 2 HP: 334/334; AC:34/15/30; F +31 (+33); R +22; W +16 (+18); Init: +11 (+17); Percep: +27 (+29); Hero Points: 5/5; Mythic Power: 7/7; Rage: 14/14

We cracked 1 million xp! 115K more for 18th level.

Cleric of Sarenrae 20/Hierophant 2 HP: 253/253; AC:32/15/27; F +24; R +18; W +28; Init: +11; Percep: +29; Hero Points: 3/3 Channel: 7/8; Quicken Rod 3/3; Extend Lesser Rod: 0/3; Intensified Rod: 3/3; Maximize: 3/3; Greater Maximize: 0/3; Mythic Power: 3/7

Given the power and deadliness of our competition at these high levels, I think we should each invest in a Resurrection Scroll.
Cost: 10,000 gp material component + 2275 cost of scroll = 12,275 gp

If I am alive, I can cast the spells with no checks required.
If I am dead and I need resurrection, Bub or Vug can cast the spell off the Scroll.
They would need to make 2 UMD checks. He has +21/she has +20 I believe.
1. Emulate ability score (namely Wisdom 17) = DC 32
2. Use Scroll = DC 33

Those are my thoughts.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

Friar is welcome to the +2 Belt of Perfection as far as Bub is concerned.

It might be worthwhile for Bubba to trade his +2 heavy shield of arrow deflection for the +1 animated heavy shield from an action economy standpoint, but that's the only item that I see that interests me. And I'd rather not give up any AC at this point. Actually, scratch that - I don't have an amulet of natural armor or a ring of protection, so if no one wants those, I would put my name in for them.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

I'm good with the Resurrection scroll idea. Some scrolls for some of the standard healing spells might not be bad, just to supplement the awesome cleric we have.

Male Dwarf Ranger 16/Barbarian 2/Fighter 2/Champion 2 HP: 334/334; AC:34/15/30; F +31 (+33); R +22; W +16 (+18); Init: +11 (+17); Percep: +27 (+29); Hero Points: 5/5; Mythic Power: 7/7; Rage: 14/14

I like the Scroll idea as well. That way 3 of the 5 players can resurrect, if need be. I'll probably be investing in adding fortification to my armor and displacement potions, since no one has the spell.
