*blushes* Thank you very much. That calls for an anniversary hero point all around. It's still great to be able to game with you.
In the interest of full disclosure, let me tell you that I have been struggling with a bout of depression these last few months. Nothing particularly bad, but it sure slows you down. I appreciate your patience and look forward to more adventuring to come.

Sorry about all the delays. It has been a rough time. To put it in game terms, I have had an alignment change and am now an ex-cleric. On the other hand I think I'll like it better as an inquisitor of Milani than as a cleric of Abadar, although I'll miss all my cool spells.
I hope to be able to post at a more reasonable pace from now on.

Sorry this went by without more of an acknowledgement from me, BT. I'm sorry to hear you've been through a rough patch, but I sincerely hope everything has worked out for the best for you. Peace.

At my house we are in the final run-up to our annual fall adventure. This year, we will not have access to wifi for at least four days. In addition, pressure at work related to my anticipated absence and ongoing major project may take me out of the game earlier than that and may keep me off the boards for a while after.
I wanted to post this to all my games while I could to explain that I may go silent for a while. I may get a few more posts in - I'm not sure when radio silence will begin. It could start as early as today - probably late tomorrow - and might run through the 26th if the project goes poorly.
Please don't let my absence stall the game. Bot me as necessary and we will pick up the pieces (or roll up my new character) when I return.
Peace.

No worries, PR. We'll take care of Bubba for you.

Hello guys. Apologies for the long silence. I did write a long post a few days ago but that of course gave the post monster the munchies.
The truth is, I have been going through a lot of changes lately, and I think I have changed too, for better or worse. One thing that has happening is that I lost interest in gaming. Now you know how I feel about gaming with you and I feel blessed and honored that we have managed to keep this thing going for this long. I thought I might stick it out a bit more to give it a proper ending, but I don't think there is much of a point to it.
I do hope that you can find a new DM to take you through the last few adventures if you have a mind to it, but I realize that it's none of my business. I just want to extend a heartfelt thank you for getting to know you and for having the opportunity to game with you.
I dropped my tabletop game months ago, and I will quite all my games here. Previously I have gone through patches where I haven't quite had the time or energy to keep them up, but this time it's different. I honestly don't know if I'll ever game again.
This is a sad moment of course but we've actually accomplished something pretty awesome here, and this thread will be a monument to that. You guys have taught me a lot about gaming and I will carry your brilliance and humility, patience and sheer friendliness with me always.
Peace out,
Black Tom

Be well, BT. I knew you were going through some tough patches. You are always welcome to contact me via email if you need a friendly ear. Peace.

I am debating running the rest of this for you guys. I know how much it sucks to have a campaign that you have invested so much time into come to a sudden end. I ran the entire path way back when it first came out. I would like to find some conversion stats to Pathfinder but I could wing it also. I think I will offer to at least finish this chapter and then we can see how things look at that point. I have never run a PBP before but have played in plenty :) What do you say?
P.S. I can pick it up as you head into the forest since that seems to be the consensus...I will switch to a different alias, just posting under this one temporarily so you recognize who I am :)
Valgrim Twin-Axe
BT, it has been a pleasure and thank you for the great game.
Ka'kara, I'd be cool with you taking over and I appreciate the offer.
Friar Ferez
I know I was the new guy but I enjoyed the game a lot! Thanks BT, be well.
You have my vote Worm that Walks!
The Worm That Walks
Hmmmm, I just noticed that you had just started circling the island. Do you wish to continue making a circuit or go to the nearby forest....or someplace else? I am going to assume a rate of about 30mph to take into consideration you slowing down to investigate, landing to solidify and discussing your next direction, and so on and so forth. Even so, only an hour of the spell time has passed so far.
Valgrim Twin-Axe
We were going to the dark forest, per Bubba's insight. Somewhere near the center so we can reform and explore. As for sharing maps, people use Google Drive, while I prefer Flickr when I GM.
The Worm That Walks
Just so you all know...you have unleashed a posting MONSTER! I check the boards daily and will post as frequently as you are all needing or wanting me to. Several of the PBPs I was playing in just died. So this is one of the few outlets left to me :) Just letting you all know that someone just poured nitrous in your Whispering Cairn engine!
P.S. Did my Flickr map link work?
P.S.S. I am good with whatever pace you guys choose, just an FYI that your not restricted by my posting frequency.

Going up against CR20 creature...trying to buff my AC to the highest total possible. Gonna need Inspire Heroics from our dear bard. Hope that's okay. I believe I can reach 51 AC.
Bublaka
I did Bublaka's character by hand and figured I would take this opportunity to enter him into a build software and either I am missing something or I did a horrible job of handling his skill points. I have apparently overspent somewhere. Which leads me to ask one question for different reasons:
Where do you stand on the retraining of skills with relation to versatile performance? I have seem DMs that allow the bard to reassign skill points that are no longer necessary in a given skill because they are never going to use that skill again once they take versatile performance (they might move the points to the performance in question or somewhere else).
Reason #1: It will allow me to better allocate my skill points where I might use them (knowledge and performance skills, primarily)
Reason #2: By reducing skill points in skills that no longer need them, I can get my skill points where they need to be.
Reason #3: Since Bublaka was built long before the ARG was out, the option to pick up additional spells known was not utilized. If I can get his skill points square and have some left over, I'd like to see your thoughts on moving come of his FCB over to some spell diversity.
EDIT OK, I'm not horribly overspent. I had not accounted for a magic item, so I had put in skill points that were actually coming from the magic item. Now I have more skill points than I have assigned (!) but the question still stands.
Bublaka
Oh, Valgrim, you were asking for inspire heroics in the fight with the tree - I couldn't find it on my sheet, so I didn't recon my action. I just realized that it's available at 15th level, so I didn't have it yet.
But I will have it soon!
Valgrim Twin-Axe
Huh? We just earned enough xp to turn 16th level! Of course you had it; probably just forgot to update sheet.
The Worm That Walks
Yes, Your actually slightly under-leveled, so please do update your characters, but a fifth character makes up for some of that. It just gets harder from here on out but you all handled that last encounter pretty well so I think we are where we need to be.
Bublaka: I was assuming that maybe you were a level behind the rest of the party because you joined late or something. If that is not supposed to be the case please do bring your character up to the same level as everyone else, 16. As far as your question about redistributing some of your skills and abilities, it all sounds reasonable to me so go ahead.
Valgrim Twin-Axe
My bad. I did not know if there would be combat during the night and I did not want to jinx the leveling up.
