She nods, "I understand completely. Wanna help me with lunch? I was just going to make some soup and hot sandwiches."

Asha thinks for a moment. "Since there are so many of you going, it should be fine. Just be careful while you are out there and make sure Juhi doesn't get sick."

Wrapping her arms around her mama she gives her a hug before kissing her cheek, "I promise we will and I'll make sure Juhi stays dry and warm. I can even take extra blankets for the tent. I love you so much mama, you try to take it easy once in a while too while we're gone okay? We'll be back in a few days. Wait till I tell Juhi!" She says excitedly before running off to find her little sister.

"Yeah, I need the practice so I can be a good housewife and mommy when that time comes," Ylrhea says with a chuckle. "I know that I can be more than that...but that's what I want to be. Is that weird?"

Malyoxa smiles at Jin. "You really are innocent, aren't you?"

Juhi looks up as Rajni runs back into the kitchen. "Are you okay?"

She gives Ylrhea a light hug, "Nah, that doesn't seem weird at all to me. I like cooking and doing stuff to take care of my family and from the looks of it, I'm going to be so busy here in town for a while that hopefully it will help....mitigate some of the anxiety I feel from not being out in the field with everyone. Just because I know they're capable and trust them, doesn't mean that I won't worry about not being with them." She says as she walks into the kitchen and starts pulling stuff out to make the vegetable soup and hot roasted venison sandwiches with.

She kind of shrugs, "I guess so? So...why you worried about what people think?"

Ylrhea helps Arista however the aasimar needed as she makes lunch. "I'm sort of relieved to be staying home now. Dying wasn't fun."

She nods while trying to collect herself and remain calm. Taking a deep breath she says, "So, Toni, myself, and some friends are going to be going camping for a couple days. We're going to be leaving the day after tomorrow. Would you like to come with us? You could actually try out your crossbow on some real game and stuff. What do you think?" The excitement apparent in her eyes and voice she gives Juhi a big smile.

"I'm just used to being prepared for prejudices," Malyoxa says. "But no one in Valwick seems to care. It's weird."

She stops what she's doing with the meat to look over at Ylrhea as she prepares the vegetables for the soup, "Okay...I know this might sound a little strange or whatever but....when you died...it felt like that dream...no, that nightmare we had in Aquines where you died...it just became way too real, way too fast. I can't even imagine what you and Sadhana were going through because I felt like part of my world just died right along with you. I never want that to happen to you or anyone else I care about again....maybe that's why I'm so scared to be at home....even though I know how capable the others are. I try not to think about it...but...it just won't get out of my head. I am happy that you're home now too....I just....I couldn't imagine my life now without a single one of you in it." She looks back down at the meat while trying to keep the rising emotions she feels from coming to the surface.

She nods, "I think I know what you mean. Sometimes when people don't understand something, or someone is different it makes them afraid and then they act out by being mean and hateful. I don't know why people act like that...but I'm sure it has something to do with their lack of intelligence and poor upbringing. It's different here...but not in a bad way." She says thoughtfully.

"Yeah, I know," Ylrhea says.

Juhi giggles. "I think you really want me to say 'yes', so I will."

"Oh, it's not because people are ignorant. It's just that most drow are evil," Malyoxa says as they reach Ieyasu's. "I guess people here just haven't had much experience with them."

She shrugs, "Maybe some people just think that one person shouldn't be judged based on what "most" of them are like. You're you....you're not "them". There's a difference."

She just stands there for a moment and nods before going to the cold box to get out some broth from an earlier roast to use as a stock for the soup. Putting it in a large pot she sets it on the stove after checking to make sure she had the right amount of wood in it for the temperature that she needed. She didn't want to rush the soup, but she didn't want it to take all day either.
When she feels that her voice is a little more steady she says, "Okay, once those vegetables are cleaned and peeled, we're going to cut the carrots into slices like this, the potatoes will be cut into cubes, the onions just need to be sliced into little chunks, and the celery can be cut up like this." She explains while showing Ylrhea how to cut up each vegetable, "Once they're cut up you can just toss them into the pot. I'd start with the carrots first since they take the longest to cook, then potatoes, celery, and finally the onion. We can add these mushrooms too it as well. Really...when you're making soup, you can pretty much put whatever you want into it. If you want meat in it, you just season it and put it in first and let it cook down to flavor the broth before adding the vegetables. While you're doing that, I'll start slicing up the meat and make sure it's seasoned before putting back in the box for about twenty minutes to soak up the flavors before cooking it in the pan. Then, while the meat is marinating, I'll go slice up some cheese to melt onto the sandwiches." Giving her friend a smile she says, "I know it sounds complicated when I talk about it, but it's actually really easy. Most of the time I just throw stuff in a pot and add different stuff that sounds good."

She gives her little sister a hug, "Great! Okay, so we have to make sure that you have plenty of warm clothes and good warm boots. I'll make sure we have plenty of blankets and stuff so you stay nice and warm. I promised mama that I wouldn't let you get sick. Do you still have plenty of bolts for your crossbow?"

I don't know if what I said made much sense. I was pretty tired by then. Jon was just trying to convey that she understands that some people can be prejudiced, she just doesn't really understand why they're that way. That's all she meant by that. She wasn't talking about the drow specifically, but rather making a larger generalization since she herself has had to deal with people's prejudices. Does that make more sense.

Damn phone! My name is JIN, not Jon.

Jin looks down as she opens the door, "I'm sorry...I just meant that I understand some people can act that way, I just don't understand it. I don't know anything about the Drow, so I'll have to take your word on that. All I know is that you're Ms. Toni's midwife and our friend....so, that's all I need to know really. I never assume anything about anyone. Okay...that's enough out of me, I'll just be quiet now." She says as she holds the door open for them to go inside.

Gashka just sits quietly at her mama's table for a couple minutes as she finishes her coffee. Taking her cup to the sink to wash it out she looks over her shoulder at her mama, "So, did you have any plans for today? We'll be going back to the mines once Derika finishes visiting with some friends of hers that showed up unexpectedly. Stuff like that seems to happen kinda often in this town." She says while wondering what her mama would be doing. Probably the same things she did when Gashka was little. Taking care ofv thed kids, cooking wonderful food, and whatever else she felt needed to be done. She wondered if you mama made timed to paint anymore, or if she got too busy to keep up with it. She felt liked she missed so much time with her family, but she didn't haved yo make it up all at once.

Juhi nods. "Thirty should be fine, right?"

Malyoxa chuckles and finds a table for the four of them.

Kealey shrugs. "I don't really know what to do with myself until we're a little more established here. I suppose I'll keep the house clean and cook something a little later."

Ylrhea starts cutting up the vegetables. "So you just picked all this up from Konstantyná?"

Laenid pulls out a chair for Jin.

She nods, "Part of it is from Konstantyna teaching me the basics. The other part is from when we went and ate that fruit from Maera. I wanted to learn Elven and be able to cook for my family, so I got a little magical boost to help improve my skills. The rest is just kinda from instinct and experimenting with different things. You'll probably develop your own style ofv cooking too. I got used to cooking for a large group of people, so that's why I haved such a hard time making anything small."

She nods, "Well....I guess I'll go for a walk while the others are out. I need some time to think a about things. Thanks for the coffee mama, and the talk. I love all of you. You know that right?" She says as she goes to her mother and puts her arms around her.

She nods while thinking to herself for a moment, "Yeah, that should be plenty. We're going to have the cart with us, so I don't really need this bag. I wonder.....I'm gonna go talk to mama real quick and then I'm gonna go to Mr. Halfpocket's. If you think of anything you need, let me know and I'll get it."
Giving Juhi another hug she heads back to let her mama know what Juhi said and ask her something.

Jin smiles up at Laenid as she sits down, "Thank you."

Kealey returns the hug. "I never doubted it for a minute."

"Oh, yeah, I remember," Ylrhea says. "I guess you had long-term plans at that point."

Asha waits for the group of new people to finish up their shopping and takes a seat on the couch. She notices Rajni approaching. "You still seem excited, so I'm assuming Juhi agreed."

She just lets herself be held for a moment before pulling back, "I'm sure you'll figure things out soon. I mean about what you want to do and everything. Oh...I think Derika and Vishanti wanted to have dinner with you guys at some point? I mean...all of us together, as a kind of family thing...and I was thinking maybe Chris and Anyka could come too? "

She seems thoughtful for a moment before chuckling slightly, "Yeah, I guess I kinda did even if I didn't really think about it too much with everything going on. I always knew I would eventually have to step away from it...I just didn't know it would be so soon."

"Life just happens, I guess," Ylrhea responds, putting the carrots in the pot before starting on the potatoes.

Nodding happily she's almost bouncing on the balls of her feet without even realizing it, "Yeah she did, and I was gonna go to Halfpocket's and get some extra supplies so we have enough to keep everyone warm and dry. Hopefully we can get some good hunting in too. I'll still go to work tomorrow since we're not leaving until the morning after tomorrow, and that will give me time to let Mr. Halfpocket and Dillon know what our plans are. I think a girls camping trip is just what Toni needs...well, it's gonna be fun for all of us. Soooo....I was just wondering, these new people seem like they're getting an awful lot of stuff and I don't see any of them with a bag like the one Arista gave to me...and I'm not gonna need it anymore since I'm not really going adventuring anymore and I have the sled to carry whatever I need in it....do you think they could use it?" She seems to get out without taking very many breaths. She stops to take some breaths while giving her mama a chance to respond to what she just said. She was just so excited she couldn't help herself.

She nods, "Yeah....stuff happens when it's supposed to even if it catches us off guard at the time. So...I just wanted to let you know, you come over any time. Whenever you feel lonely, or if you want some extra practice cooking. I'm here for you okay? I might be busy sometimes, but I will always have time for you Rhea."

Having found what they needed she goes with Dagmarr over to Jerrica as the excited young woman comes bouncing back into the room, "I....I think we found everything we're gonna need. Did you guys find what you needed?"

Jerrica nods. "Yup."

She looks at everything they have piled in their arms, "Are you sure this is okay Jerrica? I mean...your friend paying for all our stuff? It's just....a lot of stuff." She says, holding onto her new winter wear, cloak, boots and scarf.

"If you want me to make doubly sure that she's okay with it, I'll ask her," Jerrica says.

"I'll stop by whenever I need to, okay?"

Her cheeks turn pink, "I...I don't know. I mean, she already told us it wasn't a problem. I guess...I guess I just feel like we're taking advantage. I'm just not used to it is all."

She nods, "Okay. So, once we get all the vegetables into the pot, we need to decide how to season it. I was thinking some garlic and rosemary." She says while sniffing her spices to see what might taste good in the soup. She lets Ylrhea smell the different spices that she has stocked in her kitchen, "What do you think?"

Jerrica smiles. "We've been through a lot together."

Ylrhea nods. "Yeah, those would probably give it a good flavor."

She nods, "Okay...if you're both okay with it, then I guess it's okay and I'll try not to feel weird about it okay?"

She nods and sets the seasonings on counter, "As soon as you get all the vegetables in there, we'll add those seasonings along with just a pinch of salt."

"I don't see why not," Kealey says. "I'm sure everyone would appreciate a family dinner."
