So far I have:
A shaman
A thief
A paladin
A cleric
A channeler and
A skirmisher.
That's a pretty well-rounded group, BUT one of the nice things about play-by-post is that it can accomodate for larger groups than real life can. So draft up a character, we'll get him in and probably sub out CJ. He was just meant to be a DMPC anyway.

DM Frogfoot |

CJ was a DMPC, meaning he didn't really need a class - I just treated him like an NPC who performed actions according to the fiction, like a hireling almost. His weapons of choice were heavily weighted boomerangs and he had a bad attitude from a foreign land, that's all we know about him so far. :)
But you don't need to worry about party composition whatsoever. I can find ways to challenge any party, no matter how balanced or unbalanced it is. Play the class that seems most interesting to you (as long as someone else isn't already that class)

Poor Wandering One |

Hmmmm....
I was initially drawn to a Monk but the tower idea Really fits a barbarian.
It has been a long time since I got to play an angry Wall of meat
So pray welcome Xha the exile.
Backstory. Xha is in free fall right now. Exiled from his homeland for an incident HE WILL NOT TALK ABOUT. He has been wandering for some time engaging in a bit of heroism and a bit of banditry. He considers the Tower a civilized man's folly. Conquering it seems a good way to make a name, and perhaps smashing it will teach the soft, corrupt, 'civilized people' something about the natural superiority of the barbarian.
Class: Barbarian
Race: Outsider (human), At the beginning of each session, the GM
will ask you something about your homeland, why you left, or what
you left behind. If you answer them, mark XP.
Look: Wild Eyes, Mighty thews, Strange tattoos, Scavenger's outfit
STATS:
STR:16/2
DEX:13/1
CON:15/1
INT:8/-1
WIS:12/0
CHA:9/0
Max HP: (8+15)=23
Base Damage: d10
Armor: 1
Starting Moves:
Unencumbered, Unharmed:So long as you are below your Load and neither wear armor nor carry a shield, take +1 armor.
Herculean Appetites: Others may content themselves with just a taste of wine, or dominion over a servant or two, but you want more. Choose two appetites. While pursuing one of your appetites if you would roll for a move, instead of rolling 2d6 you roll 1d6+1d8. If the d6 is the higher die of the pair, the GM will also introduce a complication or danger that comes about due to your heedless pursuits.
⃞ Mortal pleasures
⃞ Fame and glory
The Upper Hand: You take +1 ongoing to last breath rolls. When you take your last breath, on a 7–9 you make an offer to Death in return for your life. If Death accepts he will return you to life. If not, you die.
Musclebound: While you wield a weapon it gains the forceful and messy tags.
What Are You Waiting For? When you cry out a challenge to your enemies, roll+Con. \
✴On a 10+ they treat you as the most obvious threat to be dealt with and ignore your companions, take +2 damage ongoing against them.
✴On a 7–9 only a few (the weakest or most foolhardy among them) fall prey to your taunting.
Alignment:Chaotic, eschew a convention of the civilized world.
Gear: Max Load is (8+Str) 10.
Dungeon rations (10 uses, 2 weight),
Dagger (hand, 1 weight)
some token of where you have traveled or where you’re from,
Two-handed sword (close, +1 damage, 2 weight)
Adventuring gear (1 weight)
Bonds
Fill in the name of one of your companions in at least one:
_______________ is puny and foolish, but amusing to me.
_______________’s ways are strange and confusing.
_______________ is always getting into trouble—I must protect
them from themselves.
_______________ shares my hunger for glory; the earth will
tremble at our passing

Hello everybody again, I'm re-opening recruitment for The Tower of Light.
Please see page 1 for important information about what classes are available to you, how Dungeon World works (really simple, basically 2d6+stat), and what I'm looking for.
The story so far:
King Vesteri, leige lord of Westervale, likes his entertainment. He likes blood sports, he likes public death. Using the wealth of his nation and the arcane might of his retinue of spellcasters he has created the Tower of Light, a massive tower of adventure for adventurers the world over to come and try to succeed at. The rewards are great, but so is the danger - death is expected within the Tower, and each one is broadcast to the public for their viewing pleasure.
The Tower is broken into 10 floors, each with a Lord or final boss to defeat before you may progress. Our party, which has a little bit of room for additional members, is preparing themselves to attack the Lord of Floor 1.

DM Frogfoot |

We have four members that I'd call active right now:
Zim'wa, the shaman
Xha, the barbarian
Father Jarad, the cleric
and Cappy, the thief.
As for what to expect, so far it's been dungeon crawly, but I definitely love a good story and good RP. This campaign has a story to it that isn't just about combat, I assure you. I've already been dropping hints to the players throughout that there's something going on beneath the surface.

I've recently come across Dungeon World and been using some of the GMing concepts in my own game (Fronts mostly). Would love to play in a really real DW game if there's room. Unfortunately the SRD is setting off my laptop's antivirus, so I'll have to figure a work around for that...but what I'd be interested in playing is a fallen paladin/fighter (not sure on how the mechanics of this would work).
The idea for the character is basically porting over a Warpriest I was playing in a Wrath of the Righteous game that's on hold. Different setting, so different backstory and details of course...

DM Frogfoot |

Nohwear: I like that move a lot. Looks great.
Fraust: Sounds like a Templar might be up your alley! (Page 11) You can play an evil character if you wish, as long as you don't try to dick over/steal from other PCs.

Fraust |

Templar is perfect. Not thinking fallen paladin as in evil, but just makes bad decisions, if that makes sense. She's a bit of a drinker, and has issues with survivors guilt. Would definitely be neutral with a leaning toward good. She's cynical and a bit abrasive, but at the end of the day she's the type to run toward the burning building. I'll get a proper profile built up when I get back from the game store...I have some orks slaughter.

DM Frogfoot |

You got it sir!
Remember that in order for you to join the party right now, you must have entered the Tower of Light as part of another adventuring group. Now, for whatever reason, you're here at the fairgrounds at the base of the Castle as free adventurers, and can join up with Agent Kerrigan's group.
Agent Kerrigan is the Agent who is overseeing Xha, Zim'wa, Cappy, Jarad, and Galadin.

Here is what I have for Quill. When I clicked the link above the first time it only gave me the first page. So what I thought was the Templar was actually the Battlemaster. Templar is probably more along the lines of what she was, or what she was training to be...but she's lost her connection to the divine/her god/whatever, so now she's relying more on being tricky/tactical.
Female Human Battlemaster
Str: 16
Dex: 13
Con: 15
Int: 09
Wis: 08
Cha: 12
Scale armor, warhammer, shield, bandages (3 uses)
[spoiler=Backstory/Personality]
When was the last time I was happy? That's an easy one. Three months ago. I was happy I woke up next to the puddle of vomit instead of face down in it...happy I hadn't pissed my trousers some time in the night...happy the ally I'd passed out in wasn't frequented by an abundance of rats or robbers. The last time I was happy was when I woke up here in Westervale, and it ain't showing signs of happening again.
I didn't know where I was but that wasn't exactly a new predicament for me. Different town, same story. I came, I drank, I fought, I drank more, and more, I fought more, I got thrown out of the tavern. Least that's what I figured. When I went back into the closest tavern I expected to find angry glares and a list of damages. Instead there was a group of armed and armored folk telling me they thought I'd gotten lost while relieving myself in the ally.
There was food and mead at the table, so I sat with them a while and played catch up. Apparently early the night before I'd met these folk after arriving in town, one thing lead to another, and we all decided we were right close friends. As comrades in arms it only made sense that we should go and give a shot at this Tower of Light thing. Details on that are still a little hazy, as we thought it best to get good and quenched before heading off to glory in the morning.
Having ate my fill and drank enough to dull the pounding in my head I tried to learn up a bit on this Tower but my friends were in a hurry to get started. I learned there was coin to be made, and that was enough to get me to go along.
Things from here on out get even more hazy and jumbled. I remember my companions saying we'd arrived...and I remember dark stone halls. From there it's all a mash of screaming, blood, open bowels, and running.
I've only ever been that scared once in my life. It was dark then too. And I was the only one to come out alive then as well.
Was I right to run? Should I have died with my companions either time? Am I a coward or a survivor? I honestly don't know. The only thing I do know is before I try to find the answer, I'm going to need a drink.
