Hello All, going to give running this game another go, this time better prepared. I am looking for 4-6 interested people for a series of old reskinned modules set loosely around the Kalistocracy of Druma. You are a mercenary and pledge member of the Silver Shields led by the Valiant halfling paladin Colewin Binderbook. (nearing middle age dirty blond haired paladin of Abadar)

He gets contracts, he doles them out to teams chosen to take care of the contract. Each member has their own reasons for working for the halfling, most of them have a personal link to the little man, as those seeking just pure wealth find themselves pushed into more annoying or rougher missions until they leave and seek greener pastures. He doesnt accept every contract either. So far no rhyme or reason seems to appear to which ones make the cut to be posted on the job board, and no alterior motives seem to be in play. . .

Charector creation -

Level 1 charectors -

HP:: is max at level 1, as you level its 1/2+1+con bonus or your roll whichever is higher. 2 trait unless you choose to take a drawback, then you may take 1 more.
CLasses:: Core,Base,Hybrid
Races allowed - Core and Featured races preferred if you have something more exotic ask away I wont promise a yes answer but I will think about it. :)
Stats - Stats will done this way.
Chose two main stats, two normal stats, and two sub stats.
Main and normal stats start at 10, sub stats start at 14
For your main stats roll and add 2d4.
For your Normal stats +1d6.
for your Sub stats - Subtract 1d6.
So in example Our Heroine Dharkhantia chooses as her main stats DEX and STR Her Normal stats as CON and WIS, and her Sub stats as INT and CHR
so
Str: 10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (4, 1) = 15
Dex: 10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (3, 1) = 14
Con: 10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (6) = 16
Int: 14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (4) = 10
Wis: 10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (3) = 13
Chr: 14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (2) = 12

Then add your racials. If for whatever reason you absolutely hate your rolls you may try a second time and keep the one you like.

Wealth Starting Wealth will be max.

When you are finished with your charector Feel free to post in the recruitment an intro post at the Silver Chalice tavern. A background story on how you met Colewin (or one of the other listed NPC's) is nice, as well as why you want to be a Silver Shield.

Posting Rate - I would like to shoot for at least once a day, but sometimes life happens.

will have choices for players by september 1st

Dot. Will have a look later
Kobolds paladin. Silver champion

GM: can I be wayvaren?

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

Interested. So Gunslinger is allowed? Will pick class after rolls.

10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (4, 2) = 16
10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (3, 3) = 16
10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (6) = 16
10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (5) = 15
14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (2) = 12
14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (6) = 8

I can definitely work with that!

Seth86 - I love me some Kobolds! Just make sure you have a good reason to be a hero! (oh and make sure you speak common :P it will help)

And no for now on the Wyvaren early flying is way too OP, that being said dont be surprised if you really want the ability to sprout wings later in life

Mark Thomas 66 - Hello my friend! Gunslingers are indeed in play, Are you going with an archtype? IM pretty liberal on crafting things, cant wait to see what you come up with (man good rolls on your average stats by the way!)

Okidoki. Kobolds paladin it will be

Seth86 wrote:

Im quite okay with Alternate racial traits as well for your kobold

Thanks =^^=

Will have a look see at options.
The 2 will be quite a duo... when he gets his companion

most of them mention chromatic heritages feel free to swap that to metallic is you want as well.

Well. I'm actually thinking of going with a chromatic heritage. Makes Rp more fun once you realise the little sneak is actually a Paladin of Apsu

10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (1, 1) = 12
10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (4, 2) = 16
10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (3) = 13
10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (6) = 16
14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (1) = 13
14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (1) = 13

I prefer a reroll. But will stick with first set if GM feels I should

10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (4, 2) = 16 dex
10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (4, 1) = 15 cha
10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (5) = 15 con
10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (3) = 13 str
14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (2) = 12 int
14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (5) = 9 wis

Thats fine too! Since you are making a paladin (I promise i wont be that DM I love paladins) make sure to have a little write up on your code and tenets I have an example if you like. If you want a be a bit sly on your paladin hood as long as you follow the code i'll allow it.

The reroll is fine :) Look forward to seeing what you make :)

Liberty's Edge

Sounds interresting I would like to apply with a Sorcerer would you be open to a Dhampir with undead bloodline trying to redeemed her ancestors past by being in the Silver shield? I'd like to try Lawful evil but if you don't like that I'm just N

10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (3, 4) = 17 Cha
10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (2, 3) = 15 Int
10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (4) = 14 Con
10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (4) = 14 Dex
14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (4) = 10 Wis
14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (6) = 8 Str

An undead blooded dhampir sorceror? Oh my sounds fun! go for it! Im fine with Lawful Evil by the way, just expect a cross eye a time or two from Mercenary group's founder.

Big old dot. Will work on this at work after I sort though my ideas. :)

I expect that but it'll be part of the fun playing a necromatic sorcerer around a groups of paladins and other people like them. I need a really good bluff

Sounds Awesome I look forwad to seeing what you come up with :)

Well Colewin was my old Living Greyhawk charector, hes very liberal on rules. He was a paladin of Justice back in 3rd ed where you could be a paladin of Ideals as well. He may or may not have brokered a deal with an evil tyrant to capture an evil cult leader. . . . That whole you can work with bad as long as its for a short period of time and its for the greater good sort of thing.

SO as long as you are behaving and following the rules I cant see how they could get that cross :P

My paladin will be a bit different than most. Be good guy. And we will get along. Just because you have an evil aura doesn't mean you can't be a nice person. Heck. He's a kobold :P
He's use to folks being nasty or evil. But common courtesy and having some form of manners can go a long way. But if you just outright murder or the sort. Then things may get ugly

I can just see the little guy wagging his finger at his larger companions

"Tsk tsk tsk. That wasn't very nice, Now was it? Go apologise"

That would help her character development to see if she ends up swifting alignment along the way towards the Lawful neutral or embrace her natural cruelty.

Sounds like an interesting game. I will give a roll and see what I get. Looking for a magic using character, I think.

10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (4, 1) = 15
10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (4, 1) = 15
10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (4) = 14

14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (1) = 13
14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (3) = 11

Not too bad...will have to think what race and class now!!

Silver Crusade

This looks intriguing, what are your thoughts on taking a drawback for a third trait. I have an idea for a helpful halfling

10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (3, 3) = 16..Dex
10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (3, 4) = 17..Chr
10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (3) = 13..Con
10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (2) = 12..Wis
10 - 1d6 ⇒ 10 - (3) = 7..Str
10 - 1d6 ⇒ 10 - (2) = 8..Int

2 trait unless you choose to take a drawback, then you may take 1 more.

Ahh the old 32 point buy a staple of pathfinger rng.
Because it would be disgusting if I added to these numbers (looking at you Samsarans)and the general misfit races I am gonna try a hobgoblin Thurge. Unless this game isn't going to thurge levels then just a really smart cleric.

Alright, I'll post in for the stat generation alone, since this seems interesting. In terms of an actual character, I'm thinking something on the sneakier side--maybe a rogue, slayer, or ninja if that's acceptable? Or perhaps an archetype for something else.

Strength: 14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (1) = 13
Dexterity: 10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (3, 1) = 14
Constitution: 14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (2) = 12
Intelligence: 10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (6) = 16
Wisdom: 10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (4) = 14
Charisma: 10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (3, 2) = 15 Hmm.... Not bad, but I'd really prefer something higher with my main scores.

Strength: 14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (6) = 8
Dexterity: 10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (3, 3) = 16
Constitution: 14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (1) = 13
Intelligence: 10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (2) = 12
Wisdom: 10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (4) = 14
Charisma: 10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (4, 3) = 17 Alright, I think I'll work with this, although maybe I'll take the first if I go halfling.

The Exchange

So hi Walter again, I finished his backstory and he decided to start off as a wizard rather than a cleric. Crunch to follow soonish.

backstory:
Grimic was born in a Hobgoblin encampment in the great cavern of Slect in Galt. Seen as weak by his brethren both for his less than mighty muscles and his lack of excitement in learning the more tortuous arts. He was not disrespected though as his keen mind and ability's brought him to the attention of his tribes Shamans. He was interrogating human prisoners when a tall extra thin one spoke to him in his native tongue offering to trade a powerful secret his freedom. Grimic demanded the secrets first and was told if he traveled out of the village following their trail and said Ver'anis a door filled with fine weapons and armor would appear. Grimic agreed and killed the human cleanly. While his master was using divine power to question the adventures souls Grimic left to find the promised loot. Opening it and finding it filled with books filled with indecipherable script or Anti-Grey Lord propaganda and strange items. Opening a book and calling on a sliver of his divine magic (read magic) he found books of arcane lore and spells and was instantly entranced. Every few days he would find a reason to go back and try to learn more about magic even knowing his people would turn on him if he were discovered. Eventually it happened, unbeknownst to him the protections on the door had faded and he was caught by his master. His masters rage was terrible but Grimic had prepared for such an eventuality and sealed the door from without as he burned the building down. Getting his cache of valuables he headed out without looking back even abandoning his old name to become Throg and searching for a place he could fit in eventually settling in Durma where no one cares what you are as long as you don't touch their hands.

Well if you insist on doing it the "correct way"

16, 16, 14, 13, 12, 9

As Seth86 said, yes to a third trait of a drawback is taken.

Ah cool, mysterious stranger and pistolero are the only ones I've seen to be honest cool cool.

Looking forward to what you have in mind daniel Stewart

I love halflings Tywynn, although the last two rolls should be 14s - 1d6. So an 11 and a 12. If you want to keep the 7 amd 8 though thats fine.

I have like 210 modules to sift through walter lindie so certainly enough levels to get a proper theurge on.

Glad to have piqued your interest Loup Blanc. If you can give me a half decent reason in your background as to why your a halfling ninja in Druma im game. :) There is nothing wrong with sneak.

Yeah sorry Kevin O rourke although you can do a reroll and choose between the two?

Liberty's Edge

What age do Dhampir start at the prd says 20 years and +4d6 for sorcerer but they turn middleaged at 35 already so it's a bit strange.

The Exchange

Crunch in the profile and intro story below.

Meeting the gang:

Shortly after committing justifiable murder and abandoning his homeland Throg struck out on his own he tried to get away from the probable issues caused by his actions. Having his studies discovered by someone who would be missed in the tribe in short order caused him to fall back on plan F, take his 'wages' from the tribe and run to the Neutral city of Durma a place where the only color that matters is gold. A mixed blessing was that by heading toward Kyoion land of the elves where a posse coming after him would have a high chance of being wiped out by the rangers that patrolled the border. The mixed part came in because he has ignored his lessons on forest survival so he also had a good chance to end up just as dead as anyone after him even if it was from eating the wrong mushroom rather than an elven arrow.
It went much better than expected with him carefully skirting the border of Kyoion and the Five Kings Mountains. He was so proud of this instead of continuing his current plan, since going around the Tanglebrier would add a week of danger to his trip, he decided to take the pass between the mountain ranges northern area and center range. No longer having the simple task of keep the mountains on your left he proceeded to get hopelessly lost for days eventually ending up back on the Kyoion side of the border. Enraged he screamed his problems at the mountains at the top of his lungs. After calming down he heard a voice behind him slowly drawl out you done now kid in common with a clear elvish accent and the sound of a bow slowly being drawn.
"I surrender" and immediately fell to my knees as i turned around and saw 3 people. The Elf, a Halfling, and a Human with a clearly displayed holy symbol. "Don't kill me I THROW MYSELF ON THE MERCY OF ...Abadar.?" "why shouldn't we kill you Hobgoblin" the elf says "you are trespassing in Kyoion and a Hobgoblin killing you would be fine." "I want to use arcane magic and if I still lived there they would kill me but I thought if I went to Druma it would be ok also turning to the halfling and human if you are mercenaries can I pay you to take me to Druma and protect me." the human and elf starts to speak but the halfing waves them silent "Sure you can it will cost you everything you have plus a little interest." as light covers me and the Keys of Abadar appears over my head. "tell me everything but if you lie ... well don't lie" After spouting my life story he pulls the others a little away and talks to them before agreeing to take me to the city. As we traveled I talked with the Halfling and learned about the Silver Shields.
After we got there I realized I was poor in Druma and asked to join his organization. He and the others were leery but the elf smiled and suggested I be tossed in with 'that' group. This made me want to leave but deciding a little danger was better than starving I stuck to my work.

The Exchange

Thats a misprint I guess d20pfsrd says
Dhampir
Starting Ages
Adulthood Intuitive1 Self-Taught2 Trained3
110 years +4d6 years +6d6 years +10d6 years
(114 – 134 years) (116 – 146 years) (120 – 170 years)

I was going to say the same thing throg said. :)

I wanted to ask I know paizo some years ago changed the starting age of the native outsiders to follow the human age progression for some reason.

But for now my idea looks like this.

Edit: I might have to readjust her background a little to account for the high age of Dhampir I thought they were along the line of humans when they were adults and just lived alot longer.

I see 3 traits which is fine, could you put the drawback up with the traits or give it a Drawback: unlearned on the sheet for me for later ease?

The orc hornbow is fine but i believe its a 1d8 damage for small sized.

Other than that looks good :)

Make whatever you want :) Ive played in games with 3 orc fighters a barbarian and a bard. MY favorite game i was ever involved in had five clerics of different gods.

As long as its not like 5 sorcerors all focused on enchantment spells (or the like) Im sure we can manage to have fun :)

Unlearned is at the bottom I believe. Was using Herolab. I guess it didn't size it down. The weapon. No worries

found it thanks !
