Tatsuo Arashi |

Trying to delay until after Felix goes but before Conner. Unfortunately since Mickey is still on the previous round of init, I'm not sure if we can have Tatsuo go before him.
Seeing what a mighty blow the big guy dealt, Tatsuo rushes forward, muttering some arcane words under his breath as some grease appears under the two remaining enemies.
Casting Grease in P11-Q12
Reflex Gnoll DC15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Reflex Big Guy DC15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
The gnoll gives a small yelp as he falls prone that is almost inaudible over the loud WHOOP of his boss falling on his ass. He would never say it out loud, but the gnoll is secretly happy that his large leader managed not to fall on top of him.
Prone: -4 melee attack rolls, cannot use ranged weapons, +4 AC vs ranged attacks, -4 AC vs melee
Seizing her chance, Sora darts in and snaps at the part giant.
Reach with bite vs AC13: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Unfortunately, my healing isn't very good for in combat. But I'll try to hit Del with an Infernal Healing next round. I just thought it might be more important to try to disadvantage the boss first.

Felix Tark |

Oh gods Del! Felix can't really do anything for Del other than try and bring his attacker down and reloading.
Musket on touch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 181d12 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Thanks for delaying till after Felix gets a shot off Tatsuo

DM of the coins |

will give Mickey a chance first but so far good move. the purple squares on the map are the grease spell

DM of the coins |

Mickey advances on the Gnoll near Conner and with a couple of swift kicks the gnoll's neck snaps and he remains motionless on the ground.
Sora snaps at the prone giant and Felix blasts it with a musket.

but in doing so, Sora takes advantage to the opening to bite at him.
Sora AoO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Giant reflex save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
The giant manages to remain on his feet this time.
Party is up

DM of the coins |

I actually lost track of rounds so right now the whole party is up then if still alive the giant will go again.

Tatsuo Arashi |

I think Conner actually still had an action before the giant goes. I'm hoping that between his attack and his AoO we'll manage to take the giant down before he hits Sora since she's also my familiar.

DM of the coins |

I was going to only go on the Ediolon part. the familiar part is just an added bonus since normally they can't be the same thing.
also, unless Conner can crit it, I doubt he can take it down.

Tatsuo Arashi |

Sorry Del, but given how much damage this guy is doing (and how well he's been rolling on damage), I'm a bit concerned that if I try to heal you, he'll only take down another party member. Also, it'd have to be infernal healing anyway, so even if I did heal you, you'd still be out for a few rounds. :/ Instead, I'm going to give the giant another target.
Draconic curses mingle with words of arcane might as Tatsuo concentrates. He flings his arms wide as a tattoo of an eagle with outspread wings begins to form on his chest. He lets out an unearthly shriek that mingles with the cry of the majestic bird as it struggles to pull itself out of his skin and soar directly at the giant monster.
Purely flavor text for using the summoner SLA Summon Monster 1 to call for an eagle next to the giant. Because I'm hoping it'll be dead next round, I'll just use Sora's token for it.
WIth an angry cry, the still glowing bird claws and pecks at the giant monster.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Talon 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Talon 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
But the creature does little more than annoy the large monster, who merely swats the creature away with its large hands. While he's distracted, Tatsuo attempts to drag Del out of the giant's reach. Summon SLA is a standard action, so still have a move action to try to drag Del away. Right now I'm assuming that take extra movement, so I just pulled Del back 10 feet.
Mickey and Conner, I put the bird in such a way that you could get flanking if you wanted.
Bird AC: 14

![]() |

Out of the corner of his eye Conner sees a member of the party falkland he shouts out his name in shock before filling himself with resolve to strike down his opponent as soon as possible so he can safely heal his friend.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 but his distraction reduces the impact he would normally have. Even so it is a blow that would have cleaved a normal human in twain.

DM of the coins |

Conner moves in and his sword leaves a gaping wound in the giant. leaving an opening for Mickey to finish the creature.
Combat over

Delkaneth "Del" Sargan |

Sorry Del, but given how much damage this guy is doing (and how well he's been rolling on damage), I'm a bit concerned that if I try to heal you, he'll only take down another party member. Also, it'd have to be infernal healing anyway, so even if I did heal you, you'd still be out for a few rounds. :/ Instead, I'm going to give the giant another target.
it was the right call
"gurgle gurgle"

Felix Tark |

Seeing Del taken care of Felix reloads his musket and moves towards the beach to make sure that everything on that side is okay and that the two lizards on that side aren't giving Melina trouble.
Tatsuo. Is Sora going to be alright?

DM of the coins |

Conner immiedietly charges to his downed cameras and places a glowing hand on his torso pouring positive energy into the wound 1d8+2
and you have a great picture of Del, would you like to share the photo on social media?

DM of the coins |

Melina was playing around some trees, not far from the beach. there are three gnolls apparently unconscious and tied to a tree with vines.

Tatsuo Arashi |

Tatsuo sighs and rubs his temples to ward off the beginning of a migraine. "She'll be fine. I'll get her back from her alternate plane eventually. She might sulk for a while though." He moves towards the lizardfolk and starts freeing them.

Felix Tark |

Felix waves to Melina. All well at the village though we took some hard hits from the giant monster then heads back to see what can be done in the village.
Melina took three prisoners at the beach. Need to do something about them. Maybe leave them to the village's justice?

DM of the coins |

Melina follows back to the village. I know a little healing. I can help. she says offering the help she can, but she is starting to look a little weak, probably been away from her tree for a little too long.
@Conner: I know, just thought it was funny
The lizardfolk all look grateful at being rescued. The new elder of the tribe step forward.
we are grateful at our rescue, we pledge our services to the human tribe of this island.
when they notice Amelia entering into the village,
Lady Amelia, our deal still stands? you will resume your protection of the village?

Tatsuo Arashi |

"Well, apparently they know Amelia and had some kind of protection deal with her. They also pledge themselves to the 'human tribe' of the island."

Delkaneth "Del" Sargan |

Delkaneth's eyes pop open as the healing magics take affect, but his actions are a bit slow as he climbs to his feet. He gives Connor a nod of gratitude. "Thanks. So.....did we win?"
The young man starts walking the battlefield, checking to make sure all the fallen enemies are truly dead while retrieving his thrown weapons.

DM of the coins |

Despite the torment and the imprisonment the lizardfolk (well the ones that survived) seem to be ready to start fresh.
Through your interpreters, they say that they will take of the prisoners as would be customary for them to handle prisoners of war.
Amelia is thankful for all the help, but she asks to that she be escorted back to the manor.
As Amelia is now the rightful heir she can assume control of the manor as well as the island. however, if you wish, you do have a legal claim as well.
some important information though, If Amelia assumes Patriarch duties, the debt will be forgiven. this is because you discover that Amelia also has relations with the pirate lords, she is the daughter of one of the Hurricane King's top captains.
In return for you work Amelia offers to transportation to any port you wish to go to.
all the treasure of the vault that you have currently, is yours to keep.
suggested location: you have a map (well part of a map) that you have not fully explored or properly studied. perhaps the ship captain that is assigned to take you might know something about it.
Also updating the XP tracker in the campaign tab
you have completed your quest and this completes the first leg of the adventure.

![]() |

Conner ask their token dragon speaking team mate to inform the lizard folk that they would indeed protect them when they needed, but that they'd have to hash out the details at a later date. After that he will gladly escort Amelia to the manor and makes charming small talk all the way there. Upon arrival at the relative safety of the manor he looks more serious and, once everyone gets comfortable, asks Amelia, "Where do all of us stand regarding the inheritance? I know that you do have a legitimate claim to it, we likewise have enough of one to chalange it, should we so chose. Before any rash decisions are made regarding this are made I want to see what your take is"

Felix Tark |

Well, I came into this party a little late. I didn't get any inheritence and a few of the people who did aren't around any more. So. Not feeling like settling down anyway. Felix shrugs
That crazy woman we helped out is concerning me and the ship I was on Albers was taken over by pirates. I managed to escape to this island but it's still out there and the people I worked with are still forced to work on it. I'd like to go after them.

Tatsuo Arashi |

Tatsuo was about to immediately denounce the inheritance when Conner spoke up. He instead closes his open mouth and opts to hear what Amelia thought of the situation. Really, he had no interest being in ridiculous amounts of debt because some old fool had issues. But he also felt like he hadn't yet proved himself a man and couldn't return to his clan yet. I mean, what had he accomplished thus far? Freeing a small lizardfolk village? Laudable, yes. A true test of his adulthood, not so much.

DM of the coins |

Amilia listens to what you have to say.
I do not know what my late husband had layed out in his will. but If you trully wish to claim this island then you do have such a right.
pausing a bit as she contemplates what to say next. however, There is the matter of the Pirate Council. And they would intend that I assume ownership as was originally planned before the wedding. Now, you can place your faith in the paper Paytro had penned, or you may relinquish you claim and accept my offer of free passage to any location you wish as well as keeping all the treasure you retrieved from the vault.
Amileia's stance though sounded like a challenge, you soon realize that she is not as innocent as you might have thought.
Though she is not Evil, she does have political motivations in her actions. and she seems to have the right connections. connections that were established long before she wed Paytro.
Amilia is related to the current Hurricane King and there were rumors about that this wedding was all an attempted coup by the Hurricane King to seize the NeMoren fortunes as well as the shipping industry his family had established.
you can involve yourself in the pirate politics or you can walk away with the offer presented and remove yourself from the entire situation.

![]() |

"I would like more information on each option, one must not make decisions of this magnitude in haste, likewise I want to know which one you would prefer, and I do mean you personally not just the hurricane king." The paladin says his eyebrow raised and his stance unyielding [know locals: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

DM of the coins |

Amelia ponders Conner's question. me personally, I would prefer you take my offer free passage. and I will also grant you safe haven here at any time. I will provide you a flag to hoist when in the waters of the shackles. This will signify you are aligned with me, thus giving you a pass from pirate attacks.
you sense that Amelia want you to take this choice, she would hate to see you at odds with the pirate council and feels this is the best way to repay you.

Tatsuo Arashi |

Now leveled up.
Sense motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Tatsuo, already not in the best of moods, had started to move into a slightly defensive posture at Amelia's challenge. However, he soon settles back, deciding the comment wasn't meant as a slight towards them. He remains silent, waiting for his companions to finish asking any questions they may have.
When the questions appear done, he politely asks, "Perhaps you would allow us some time to discuss among ourselves?"

DM of the coins |

Amelia nods and grants your request.
I will go and make some tea, If I can remember where the kitchen is, while you talk, would you all like some?
She tries to be a pleasant host, but you all know that under that pleasantry can be a cold and calculating pirate.
Amelia heads out a side door.
not long after she leaves, one of the towns folk enter. [b]my lords, I am so sorry to bother you, but a man at the docks said he saw a ship full of gnolls sailing South East, toward either Port Peril, or Bloodcove.
remembering what you have of the map, the town of Hannex on the map is not far from Bloodcove

DM of the coins |

ok I gave you guys a chance to discuss where to next. based on that not happening.. I will move you forward to where I want to send you guys...
Amelia provides you guys ship passage and you feel your next stop is Haanex. it is shown on the partial map you possess and the Captain has heard of it.
He tells you Haanex is a small townbut it does boast a decent sized docks. it has ended up being a stop point or neutral ground for pirates and merchants alike to discuss business.
The locals don't seem to mind as they sometimes stand to make a bit of coin out of it anyway.
the town itself is not considered a rough town (no wretched hive of scum and villainy)
Haanex is about a day from Bloodcove (bit less by sea) (If you need to place it on the world map)
The sea journey will take some time (you are sailing from a small island near Drenchport (at the edge of the Eye of Abendego) down past Port Peril and around toward Bloodcove.
The ship will be making a stop at Port Peril for supplies. you will be able to sell any loot you have and purchase additional equipment there.
More to come later as there is a small event I need to get together in Port Peril.

![]() |

Conner thanks the provider of the boat and chooses a room for himself and places his equipment there. He various tasks to keep himself busy, but not knowing how to do any but the most simple tasks, he mostly keeps himself away from
The various tasks intended for crewing a ship. He plays cards. He takes a Wheatstone to his blade. He cleans and polishes his armor. He chats animatedly with his friends and crew.

DM of the coins |

Ok so.. moving on again... wondering if anyone will have anything to say?
As you make your way about Port Peril, there is a girl that definitely looks out of place in this pirate town. She looks like a peasant girl but her demeanor is completely innocent and she looks like she just is so out of place here.
she is holding a small stack of papers and seems to be trying to hand them out to people.
please have you seen my uncle? does anyone know where Haanex is? she asks these of anyone that will listen, which isn't very many.
some take the paper but quickly toss it to the street uncaring.
she does not appear to have notice you guys yet.

Delkaneth "Del" Sargan |

Damsels in distress being one of his strong suits (in his own mind, anyway), Delkaneth makes his way over to the girl and gives a slight bow of his head before reaching out for the paper.
[b]"I'm not sure who your uncle is but Haanex is around the other side of the Shackles. Not the safest trip and not a short one either. What are you looking for there, miss......."[/]
As the treasure hunter lets the question dangle in the air he finally looks down at the paper for the first time.

Tatsuo Arashi |

Tatsuo keeps mostly to himself during the ship ride. His time seems to be split between meditation and climbing up as high as he could in the rigging to enjoy the winds tugging at his robes. A part of him wishes to jump and be embraced by the air, but the practical part of him knows that would be a too short-lived pleasure.
Once in port, he watches his companions approach the random girl. Not wanting to overwhelm her, Tatsuo moves to just within earshot. I guess her uncle has gone to Haanex? If so, perhaps he ran into trouble with that gnoll ship one of the townfolk mentioned before we left. I wonder if those gnolls are at all related to the ones we dealt with....

DM of the coins |

the paper is a picture of a fat man with curly hair on the sides of a balding head.
there is also a note that reads:
Help needed to find my missing Uncle.
Goes by the Name Arowain
Last known to be visiting his friend Veoden in Haanex
100 gold coin reward.
you sense that the girl is desperate. and she is also seems fearful of something.
She also is probably withholding some information but that might be expected given her situation at the moment
Please sir, are you willing to help? I received word from our friend Veoden that my uncle never arrived. please help.

Felix Tark |

You're a long way from home to find a missing Uncle, girl. Felix says. These places aren't safe. Come on let's all go to a tavern, get something to eat, and you tell us the whole story.

DM of the coins |

The girl looks over each of you, as though trying to guess your character. deciding she can trust you, ok, this way I know a place that is safe. Follow me.
She leads you through a couple of alleys to a small tenement building. going to the door, she fumbles with some keys, looking for the right one.
once found she opens the door and leads you up stairs to her shabby one-room apartment.
come in, have a seat she invites you all in.
There is not much room but you can all find a seat.
on the wall there are all sorts of hand drawn maps and strings connecting them.
several point to a note with the word Haanex and another note with the word Starmetal circled with a question mark.
on the table there is another paper with the name Veoden written on it.
can I get you something to drink? she asks trying to be the nice host, but there is still a slight touch of fear in her eyes.

Delkaneth "Del" Sargan |

Delkaneth nods his agreement. "Youve piqued our curiousity, we would hear your tale." Its hard not to notice that the young man's speech has suddenly become more formal and flowery in front of the pretty girl.....
