Sirettis recognizes these giant bullfrogs, and knows of their giant tongues that can extend out to three times the frog's normal reach and grapple an opponent. They have no resistances.
Mr. Peppers recalls them being roughly six die on some kind of arbitrary scale. They have the Pull and Swallow Whole special attacks, but no special defenses.

I wasn't going to fly. The intention was to remain stationary as an invisible block.
Of note: i was speaking about Self telekinesis, mistaking it with Ride the Blast, as both propel you 60ft forward.
To what would happen if you can't fly; you (obviously) fall on your next turn unless you use the talent again to maneuver yourself.
You use your telekinetic abilities to move yourself. Otherwise, this wild talent functions like flame jet.
You shoot a burst of flame behind you as a standard action, propelling you up to 60 feet in a straight line, including into the air; any movement upward costs double. If you end your turn mid-air, you fall on your next turn unless you use flame jet again.

Moving on...
Across the river is the entrance to the cave. After a short, damp tunnel, the passageway widens into a modest and relatively dry cavern. Several bulging burlap sacks are stacked next to a barrel on the far side of the cave, before which lie two bloody, robe-clad corpses. Other than the corpses, the cave ends abruptly in this room.
The sacks contain food and water, and the corpses are wearing the same distinctive black amulets of natural armor +1 belonging to the Dominion of the Black that Cup had noticed when using Residual Tracking.
Both corpses carry a masterwork dagger, and one has a wand of magic missile with 4 charges remaining.

Finally seeing some solid ground, Tall, dark and handsome lands at the cave entrance once some of the more 'stout' members begin inside. He casts a simple light spell on Uesugi's armor as usual in these circumstances. "A good little hideout... well until someone shows up to murder you I guess right?" He scans the room for magic and is not disappointed.
"Are these the amulets you saw in your spell Miss Cup? They are magical, as well as a low level wand of magic missiles." He quickly pockets the wand and starts to take a closer look around the room.

While Uesugi checks the ground for tracks and finds none, Mr. Peppers notices that cave wall to the north looks... Off. Upon closer inspection, he realizes it's actually a painted canvas sheet that matches the nearby cave walls obscuring an entrance leading further into the cave.
Just as he and D are about to enter, Sirettis notices a thin cord hooked to the stashes of food and water. Moving the bags will cause the cord to snap, sending a large, spiked log down from the ceiling and smashing through the room.

With his mage hand he tries to lift the corner of the canvas to have a peek.
GM Red |
Mr. Peppers only sees another short tunnel beyond the canvas that turns east into another room.
You pull the canvas aside and continue down the tunnel and into a larger room. This wide cavern has an unusually low ceiling, only twelve feet
high. Tangles of roots protrude from the southern ceiling and walls, and the entire chamber feels damp and moist. A large nest of leaves, furs, straw, and blankets is heaped to the northeast. Sheets of canvas have been pinned to the northern walls, onto which numerous pockets have been stitched. A small firepit sits near the entrance to the cave, but it is currently unlit.

Waiting in this room are a wolverine, and a boar, and a strange, animal-like woman whose eyes are those of a great cat. Much of her body is covered in a thick layer of spotted fur.
"Why you--" She meows. "Here? Come to kill me? You hissss die first!"
She gets down on her paws and races across the room, slashing at Uesugi.

"Paranoia will get you nowhere." Sirettis watches the feline-woman hiss and bounce along the room.
Mr. Peppers |
"We aren't here to kill you, we're looking for a woman and information! Calm yourself!" Shouts the Elf as he reaches his hand towards his spell component bag. Its a fine bag really, trendy in Absalom at the moment, with the holy symbol of Nethys stitched into it.
Uesugi Hideyoshi |
Uesugi draws his katana but holds it in a defensive stance.
"We are not here to kill you. Let us parlay. No blood needs to be spilled here."

Cup cocks her head, looking at the strange looking girl who attacked Uesugi. What is she?

Is she scared? She seems scared.
♫ We're not here to hurt you
We didn't mean to disturb you in your home
We're looking for Leeara
A girl who sometimes likes to roam
She loves the wild places
Local ingredients to brew
We're wondering... could this be you? ♫
+2 inspire courage, but hoping for a non violent solution here.
GM Red |
Cup recognizes the signs of corruption when she sees them: this girl is showing early signs of transforming into an id mutant, a creature warped by magic amplifying a person's primal instincts in ways that transform that person's mind and body into a base, animalistic form. She indeed looks very scared!
"Not here to hurt me? Leeara... Me was Leeara, me think?" She scratches her furry chin.
Out of combat
"Friends, get back in bag," she pulls out a magical sack and the animals turn and jump inside, somehow fitting in it. "Me want to talk. You come here to help? How? Look at me..." She frowns at her spotted coat.
Sirettis |
"Transformation is nothing to fear." Sirettis lands and helps Sir Uesugi's wounds.
Healing Hex: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (7, 4) + 10 = 21
With a touch she heals the samurai, then lands near her. "Leeara. Let us be friends."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
"Why are you here? What happened to you." Sirettis checks for signs of transformation. Maybe her healing abilities can help.
Heal: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Regenerative Sinew (Su) (Healer's Handbook pg. 17): The witch can cause the debilitating wounds of a creature she touches to quickly close, helping it heal rapidly. The target either gains fast healing 5 for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 the witch’s class level or it heals up to 4 points of ability score damage from any two ability scores (witch’s choice). At 15th level, in addition to the chosen effect, the target’s severed body members, broken bones, and ruined organs grow back, as per regenerate. Once a creature has benefited from this hex, it cannot benefit from it again for 24 hours.
Mr. Peppers |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Mr Peppers watches on as Sirettis heals and takes a look at who is supposed to be Leera "I am Mr Peppers, master of arcane magic. I will help you if I can." He nods and looks to Sirettis for any thoughts on what is going on with the woman and if his magic can help.
Auto aid Diplomacy
You have that hex now? Awesome! I have break enchantment if it looks like it could work on her.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne |
"Whoa! So sorry to hear about what's happening to you Leeara! But believe me, if there's any group of people who could help you out, it's us, the Red Arm of Absalom!"
Diplomacy (aid): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
When Cup explains that Leeara is undergoing some sort of mutation, Gallix perks up. "I know a thing or two about alchemically induced mutations! They're just temporary ones, but there might be some kind of reagent I could use to delay your transformation."
