She checks one last time to make sure she has everything, Arista takes her belt pouch and puts it...somewhere on her person. Leaving her room, they head out of the fort and towards the Common House where Marie and the others are staying.
Sādhanā’s eyes widen as she processes the request. For a moment she is again rushing toward the werewolf, feeling claws tearing through her in the time it takes her to blink. Shaking it off with a shudder she breathes to calm herself already feeling the rising panic in her wife’s heart at the thought.
“It’s in everybody’s best interest for us to confirm that he’s gone before going after Venicious.” she says calmly. ”If we didn’t we would risk leaving everyone here to his predations. Checking to see that he is gone is a fair request for the gift you would be providing.”
The magus sounds almost as if she were trying desperately to convince herself at the same time trying to keep tight reign on an anger that rises at the very thought of Reinhardt.
"You need to stop hiding who you are because who you are is wonderful," the gnome says with a casual sniff. "You want me to start feeling better? Then stop beating yourself up for being who you are."
"That's....greatly appreciated Gerard. Thank you." Sādhanā says quietly. She holds Clara's hand a bit tighter as she takes another deep breath. "I'm assuming you'd like us to go as soon as the wedding is over?"
"It's not far from here and the wedding is supposed to be this evening," Gerard says. "Best to get it out of the way than disappearing on the happy couple."
Ylrhea chuckles. "Well, I guess we can work on that while trying to find the couple a gift. And don't worry, Captain, I haven't the slightest idea, but they should be happy as long as we make an effort."
As you relax and meditate, a scene forms in front of your eyes. Men run as fire rains down from the blood-red sky. You hear shouting from all around you, but you hear a couple voices clearly.
"Dagan! We must pull back, we don't stand a chance against the dragons!"
"Hold your tongue, Barnabas! We will not retreat. This is our homes and our families that we are talking about abandoning."
"What do you have in mind then? Tossing rocks?"
"We will draw upon the ancient power beneath Zahvroma and use it to drive them back."
"Have you lost your mind, Dagan?"
"Perhaps, but it's our only chance. Take the womenfolk and children away. If we lose Blackcrown tonight, then it's better that we ensure that our lineage lives on."
"As you wish. Careful, Dagan."
A genial man appears in your vision as the background and shouting men die away. "So, Drago, you are part of Zahvroma. Dagan was your grandfather, who died to protect Blackcrown from a flight of red dragons. I am Dagan's son and your father. I am sure there is much you wish to ask and I'll answer as best as I can."
As they walk to the Common House, Arista takes one of Esme's hands and squeezes it. Looking at her she nods, "Yes, if you don't mind joining us of course. It might be a little noisy with Nerah and Wilk there, but I'd like it if you were with me."
Taking a deep breath Sādhanā squeezes her wife's hand as they head back. "Never a dull moment is there love? And all before breakfast." she says with a chuckle.
She laughs as Nerah and Wilk grab onto her. Picking them both up, one in each arm she gives them a hug before setting them back down. Arista gives Marie a hug and looks at her while gesturing at the two playful children, "Oh they're alright...I really don't mind. It's nice to hear children so happy, it's as it should be." She smiles, "Yeah, I'm told that I need to keep my strength up, even though I feel like something's going to fly away with my stomach. Where do you feel like going this morning?" She greets Lucco and Andres both with a hug, "Good morning to the both of you as well. I hope you all had a good rest?" She looks at her family as they all stand around, a soft smile on her face.
The family sits at one of the long tables at Hadrinn's, with Marie on Arista's right and Esmerelda on Arista's left. The dwarf appears after a moment. "Ah, another wedding day and another good group of customers."
The family orders what it likes and Marie turns to Arista. "Is there anything else that you need to do before the wedding? And it's a pleasure to meet you, Esmerelda."
The kids look at Esmerelda with as much interest as Arista, but say nothing.
Arista looks from Marie to Esme, slight color rising in her cheeks, "I'm sorry, it was rude of me not to make introductions...I guess I've just got alot on my mind right now." She thinks for a moment, "I still need to find a gift for Alethiro....ummm other than that, I think we pretty much have everything covered. Asha is making the dress and will bring it by Esme's later this evening since that is where I'll be getting ready at. I'll need to take a bath later this afternoon to get ready, a nice relaxing bath in lavender and jasmine should help relieve some of the stress and nervousness. The set up for the wedding is being handled by Godrick and some of the other Paladins down on the beach. Hadrinn has the cake and things under control. Marie, you have the rings....so, I aside from getting him his gift...I think that's pretty much it. Unless there's anything else you can think of that I'm forgetting?"
Drago's mind swirled with questions. He was unsure what to aske next. Then it came to him. "Something seems to have attached itself to me since the Anazari Caves. Do you know what it is? Is it the 'she' you told me about earlier?"
Arista nods, "Yeah....I don't know if I want to do practical, or sweet and sentimental. I was thinking about talking to his sister about it....but, she just arrived in town and I'm not sure she really likes me...so, that would be really awkward. Maybe we can look for something after breakfast?" She looks over at Andres for a moment, "I know I asked about it in the letter....but, I was wondering if...that is if you wouldn't mind, perhaps you could walk me down the isle and give me away? I'm not sure if this is something that's still practiced, and I know that it's usually the father's role...but," She looks down for a moment, "since my father's not available, or my brother...I was really hoping that you would do me the honor of escorting me to my husband to be." She swallows hard, trying not to show how nervous she really is. She hadn't known them long, but they were her family and it made everything so much better having them here.
"You need to make your way to Blackcrown, Drago. Only there will you find the truth. Soon, you will experience something new, but you needn't be afraid."
Arista nearly lets out a sigh of relief, "Great, thank you so much. It really means so much to me that all of you are here. Well, I guess all I have to do now is find a gift for him."
"Well I guess we better get ourselves ready," Sādhanā says, casting a brief cantrip that leaves both women's armor completely cleaned and in Clara's case polished
