Esme shrugs before turning to the door. "Sure."
"So that was it, eh?" Esme asks, standing up. "I really hope that helps you put your past behind you."
Esmerelda smirks. "Why not? Everyone else calls me that, why not my brother?"
Esmerelda shrugs. "I don't have any plans for the time being. I'm splitting a shift tonight so I have a few hours to spare."
"Do you want me with you when you talk to her?" Esmerelda asks, taking the cup to the counter. "Another coffee please, Yulia."
"She wasn't interested in speaking with Chalandra," Esmerelda answers. "Neither am I, but I figured I would show up to be a supportive sister."
She finishes her coffee. "Our mother didn't raise Divitia or I, so we don't have any connection to her aside from the biological."

As Drago enters the cafe, he sees Esmerelda sitting at a table, sipping on a coffee.
Esmerelda grunts and closes the door.
Esmerelda raises an eyebrow. "Okay..."

Esmerelda opens the door, looking quite tired, and narrows her eyes at Drago. She yawns and waits for him to state his business.
"I know," Esme says, giving Arista one last hug and heading out.
Esme gets up and gives Arista a hug. "Alright, get some rest."

"Theon has been through something I can't relate to and that puts his heart in a place only someone who understands can reach," Esme says. "I know you want me to be happy, Arista. I just don't know what I want out of a relationship. I thought I wanted Barclay, but I also thought I'd spend the rest of my life fighting devils by his side. I didn't think about a family or...anything really. It was just those 'battlefield feelings' and, when we were done fighting, I guess he was just done with me. And I've been spending every day trying to figure out what I want out of life."
She gives Arista a faint smile. "Not that I'm unhappy. I enjoy what I have for now and I'll figure out more later. I do want kids though."
"And I love you even though you were trying to get your brother interested in me," Esme responds.

"Yup," Esme says. "I can't tell you how to feel about all this. I know my life's been turned upside down too. I'm here for you though. But...you're going to have to stop thinking about the fight at some point and trying to bury your urges by piling so much stuff on yourself to try and forget about it. I don't know how you're going to do that, but you have family and friends who are willing to help you through it."
She chuckles. "Besides, I think Theon and Pandi could use a nice, quiet date lovingly arranged by you."
"You're used to a life of fighting, where the next objective is whatever pops up that's a threat," Esmerelda says softly. "Now you're having to pick your own path in life, doing things that you didn't see yourself doing...but you didn't really plan to fight forever, did you?"
She sighs. "You make plans, life makes different ones."

Esme tousles Arista's hair. "You know, a lot of people get by without killing things, a lot of people do good in other ways than smiting evil and a lot of people feel the same way you do. You just need to concentrate on what you can do, not on what you think you should be doing. There's a lot of people who can help Barclay with the town stuff. There will be a school here at some point. All you need to do is take care of your family."
She smiles. "Just focus on the wedding since that's coming up first. The rest will fall into place."

"It's nice that he's found someone who...keeps him calm," Esme says with a smile. "You...you need to figure out some way to get calm. You want to do all this stuff and then you say you're crazy, but you're driving yourself crazy..."
She sighs and shakes her head. "You just jump feet first into life, huh?"
"Are you hungry again or are you just telling me that for some reason?"
"I have the strangest feeling of deja vu," Esme asks. "Did we have this conversation recently?"
She shakes her head. "Everything is fine. Work, sleep, come over here and eat."
Esme shrugs. "Well, everyone seems to be going to bed, so I don't want to be in the way."
"Give me Divitia's share," Esme laughs. "I don't have to worry about that."
"I reckon I can manage one or two."
Esme smirks before finishing her food.
"I'll take some food as well and some juice," Esme says, patting Celine's back gently.
"You've got two other aunties and you choose me?" Esme chuckles, sweeping Celine up in her arms. "My, you're getting bigger every day."
Esme glances at Theon and notices how his eyes hardly leave Pandi. She smirks and sits down at the table.
"Ah, I'm Esmerelda," the dhampir introduces herself. "I am also with the guard, but I work late at night."
Esme smiles. "Don't worry, we don't bite."
"You're new to Valwick," Esme says. "It's a big change and I understand. You're forgiven."
"Hello, Arista...Theon," Esmerelda says, nodding at the two aasimars.
Esme nods. "See you then."
"Sure, maybe I'll drag Divitia over," Esme says, getting up.
Esme is about to speak, but stops as Theon returns.
Esme shrugs. "Not much. Debated on seeing Divitia, but, with the wedding coming up, I needed a break from her. She's excited and nervous...she's a pure headache when she's like that, I've learned."
Esme shakes her head. "I'm fine, thanks."
"Sounds like it," Esme says.
Esme smiles slightly. "He seems like a nice enough guy. He probably needs time to adjust to things, like you did. The world's a lot more different than the one he left behind."
"Graveknight?" Esmerelda says. "Okay, I'm honestly asking if we've had this conversation."
Esme shrugs. "I really wouldn't have thought anything about it. He's very different from you, though. You sure you're related?"
"I'm sorry if I made things uncomfortable," Esme says.
Esme turns to Arista. "There's nothing wrong with hugging. I just don't like excessive hugging."
"She sort of...attached herself to me," Esme says, taking a spoonful of soup. "But I don't do much these days."
"That's Esmerelda to you," Esme answers. "Oh, I used to be a devil hunter, now I just do a bit of vagrancy here and there."
"Alright, alright, stop teaming up on me," Esme says.
Esme raises an eyebrow, caught off-guard by Alethiro's request. "Sure."
"You are definitely not like your sister," Esme remarks.
