The Nazi Defences (Weird Wars II / Savage Worlds) (Inactive)

Game Master PhilOfCalth

During the bloody days of October 1944 in the town of Kelmis, only a few Km from the battlefronts of World War 2, local folklore and history is becoming current fact. It is up to the more able bodied patients of a military field hospital to find out what's going on.

On the other hand NCOs of the era were still potentially brutal men willing lay a beating down for insubordination, then jump on a grenade to save that same PVT.

Urgh... I just lost my stats draft to the message boards...will try again in a few hours.

I thought NCO would do the job. The problem with any sort of officer is that he would be treated somewhere better and/or separated if he starts acting a bit insane. These things would split the party and derail my game!

According to the WWII book says NCO or officer. So you can have the equivalent of a sergeant. I don't mind if you want to play with it EG you have the experience and skill of an officer but they never gave you rank because of your German background...

That's happened to me so many times making high level PF characters. It's such a pain!

Wow....stepped on the same land mine you did, Hauser. Grrrr.

NCOs weren't pilots in te USAAF - a few NCOs became training pilots during the war, but before that and for a frontline pilot they had to come from a military academy and thus of officer rank. This is why I ask:

Are there NCO pilots in the USAAF in our Weird Wars world or shall I modify my character concept?

You could always treat the German background as a reason why he isn't treated as the other officers are (add to that that pilots aren't really seen commanding officers, just as surgeons aren't really seen as academics ;-) )

Try saving more often. I have a theory that the issue is caused by session time out... It's just an educated guess though!

Let's just pretend that you are the exception to the rules because you're such a good pilot ;)

Scarab Sages

OK, double ninjad me while I edited my post ;-)

Stats are done (aside from equipment), I will hurry with getting the background into the profile, I will surely be done tomorrow!

It's a good guess. That is why I normally copy & Paste everything - just today, in a hurry, Savage Worlds...nah, isn't taking that long...oh, look, distractions...oh cr**

That seems reasonable enough to me, so long as you know that edge isn't going to have all the power normally associated with being an officer.

I was origionally going to have a "session" be more or less a real world amount of time. About 2 weeks I was thinking. However, that was assuming 1 post per day per player. If we go slower than that I might extend the period.
Basically this means every now and then I'll be handing out experience and telling everyone to reset their benny count to 3.

Scarab Sages

I'm OK with that.

Let's try this again.

Edit: Worked. Just need to add his kit, but how much cash are we starting with? I thought I saw both 500 and 200.

$200 for Soldiers. $700 for civilians

Cool. My shotgun will wipe that and then my kit will round it up.

Basically yes. The pump action goes for $150 in the core book, so you'll still have $50 left over.

Mostly done, ready to go!

OK I'll double check your profiles tonight. Prob won't get a chance to start the game until tomorrow.

@Hauser - You still have the Edge Rank: NCO rather than Oficer as you wanted it to be.

Scarab Sages

Thank you, fixed.

Both your profiles seem fine basically.

@Bilbo - Can you expand on your vengeful hindrance and choose a standard issue firearm from the following list:
M1911, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Thompson SMG

Private Smith is ready to roll. He's looking forward to being the rearguard as the other brave investigators figure out what's going on. He's also happy to keep watch in a quiet, out of the way area if needed...

Should I drop the Winchester? No problem there if so, but figured with a missing eye it would help, lol. Thompson will be the standard.

Will expand on hindrance in a bit. Got get back to work, lol.

You can have both. The Winchester costs £150 of your starting cash. Or you can drop the standard weapon if you like. I just need to know one way or another before I start.

Will buy a shotty and take a 1911 as my issue.

Vengeful (Minor): While often cool headed and likable, Henry is a bit of a bully-bully. Taking personal offense to weaker people being pushed around or people of authority abusing that power for personal gain, Hank will find a way to make the offender pay whether it be by proper channels or a good old fashioned "dusting off."

Good cool I can see that working quiet well.

I'll open the gameplay and discussion threads tomorrow

The threads are up!

I'm reopening recruitment for 1 or 2 more players. The general description is at the top of the this thread.

Ping for more players

I'm bumping this as one of the current players. If you like Savage World rules and are interested in solving mysteries and fighting Nazis and their evil minions then this game is perfect for you.

Ping for players again. I might just open a new thread with all the relevant information and a summary of where we have gotten to...

Ping

I'll make a seporate recruitment call for this later today, but for now - *Ping!*

Howdy howdy howdy! Looks like I get the privilege of joining in with you all! This is my first time with the Savage Worlds, so apologies in advance for any errors or dumb questions I will inevitably have.

Concept:

For Danny Tahoma, volunteering for the army was a no-brainer, offering him opportunities far beyond anything else he could hope to acquire back home on the Navajo reservation. He's served in the 30th for the entire duration of his time with the army. He had been relatively lucky in keeping out of the worst of the fighting... Until Aachen. He and his squad were stuck on the front lines, where they were heavily shelled by German artillery. Though his wounds were not particularly bad, Danny's talent for severe bleeding has him currently placed in the hospital for recuperation before getting tossed back out in the field.

Welcome!

Sorry about being a bit slow getting back to you. For your infantry soldier you need to hit the following prerequisites:
Skill Requirements: Fighting, Shooting

You get the following gear: Steel helmet, bayonet or knife, Web gear (Web belt, suspenders, 4 ammo pouches), backpack, bandages, mess kit, canteen, gas mask, entrenching tool, spare uniform, boots, 4 pairs of socks, bedroll, rain poncho, shelter half.
You also own a M1 Garand or M1 Carbine or BAR but it has been taken from you and stored elsewhere while you are in hospital.
You also get $300 that you can spend before creation or keep.

I'll have you moved into Steers old bed and I'll give you a little extra info to tell the other PCs once your profile is up. Let me know if you need a hand with anything.

Thanks for the welcome, Snuffy! I'm super excited for this!

Also I think I have Danny set up and done. Please let me know if anything needs fixing.

The only thing wrong with your profile is you need to make some choices in your equipment.

Bayonet or knife
M1 Garand or M1 Carbine or BAR
And if you want to spend your $300 you can

Ah! Sorry about that! I fixed the equipment. Also gonna hopd off on spending for the moment, so I think I'm set.

OK I'll introduce you in my next post. I just want to give the PCs time to ask more questions.

Feel free to post in discussion
