Slightly stuck with medium armor

Advice

Sczarni

Hi everyone,

I am relatively experienced player and pleased with one of mine PFS characters (currently cleric 5/rogue 1), however long time ago I took masterwork agile breastplate for free from my faction and enchanted it over time to +2. My character's idea slightly changed also, so I took a level of rogue to fill in mine skill starved cleric. From his backstory and flavor wise it makes sense also.

What's bugging me is that I am stuck with +2 armor which I cannot sell and I plan to grab 1-2 more levels of rogue and will gain Evasion. And of course Evasion doesn't work in medium armor, so I am searching for a way to make it work with my current armor or best possible way so it's not standing there for nothing.

Thanks on responses,

Malag

Mithral is your friend, but I don't think you can upgrade an item to a special material version of the same item in society play.

I am afraid you are pretty much stuck, I'll try and think of something, but I am drawing a blank at the moment :(

2 people marked this as a favorite.

IMO you should have taken levels in Inquisitor if you were just looking for skill points....but if the backstory leans more towards Rogue...that's fine...Ignore Evasion and memorize resist energy instead

Scarab Sages

You could take the Smuggler Archetype for Rogue that trades out evasion, but not sure if it's legal if you have already played a session after gaining the rogue level.

Maybe retrain your Rogue level into an Inquisitor level? I don't know your character's story, so it might not work, but Inquisitors get 6+ skill points per level and are not too dissimilar from Rogues.

@MrSin

I thought of mithral, but albeit to late.

@Unkbluck & Imbicatus

It leans more towards rogue class really. I took already Poisoner archetype before. It's not best effective thing in the world, but I don't really care much. It fits the concept.

Imo, the difference between picking inquisitor or rogue is pretty minor if its about flavor. Mechanically they're pretty different, and inquisitor is also very much about wisdom like the cleric. Another choice, depending on god and feats, could've been evangelist to get skills and keep your caster levels.

You can swap out your archetypes up until you play one game at the level you would make the first swap. Smuggler swaps out trapfinding though.

The level 3 Cleric Spell Protection from Energy might be an adequate substitute for not having Evasion.
